۞قَالَ
Q̣aalal
Said
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
malaʹul
the chiefs
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenas
(of) those who
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ
takbaroo
were arrogant
مِن
miñ
among
قَوۡمِهِۦ
q̣awmihee
his people
لَنُخۡرِجَنَّكَ
lanukhrijannaka
We will surely drive you out
يَٰشُعَيۡبُ
yaa-Shuʻaybu
O Shuaib
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wallaẓeena
And those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
(have) believed
مَعَكَ
maʻaka
with you
مِن
miñ
from
قَرۡيَتِنَآ
q̣aryatinaaa
our city
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
لَتَعُودُنَّ
lataʻoodunna
you must return
فِي
fee
to
مِلَّتِنَاۚ
millatinaa.
our religion
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَوَلَوۡ
ʹa-wa law
Even if
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we are
كَٰرِهِينَ
kaariheen?
(the) ones who hate (it)
٨٨
7:89
قَدِ
Q̣adif
Verily
ٱفۡتَرَيۡنَا
taraynaa
we would have fabricated
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
كَذِبًا
kaẓiban
a lie
إِنۡ
ʹin
if
عُدۡنَا
ʻudnaa
we returned
فِي
fee
in
مِلَّتِكُم
millatikum̃
your religion
بَعۡدَ
baʻda
after
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
[when]
نَجَّىٰنَا
najjaanal
saved us
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِنۡهَاۚ
minhaa.
from it
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
يَكُونُ
yakoonu
it is
لَنَآ
lanaaa
for us
أَن
ʹan
that
نَّعُودَ
naʻooda
we return
فِيهَآ
feehaaa
in it
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَشَآءَ
yashaaaʹal
wills
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
رَبُّنَاۚ
Rabbunaa.
our Lord
وَسِعَ
Wasiʻa
Encompasses
رَبُّنَا
Rabbunaa
(by) Our Lord
كُلَّ
kulla
every
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
عِلۡمًاۚ
ʻilmaa.
(in) knowledge
عَلَى
ʻAlal
Upon
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
تَوَكَّلۡنَاۚ
tawakkalnaa.
we put our trust
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaf
Our Lord
ٱفۡتَحۡ
taḥ
Decide
بَيۡنَنَا
baynanaa
between us
وَبَيۡنَ
wa-bayna
and between
قَوۡمِنَا
q̣awminaa
our people
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bilḥaq̣q̣i
in truth
وَأَنتَ
wa-ʹAñta
and You
خَيۡرُ
Khayrul
(are the) Best
ٱلۡفَٰتِحِينَ
Faatiḥeen.
(of) those who Decide
٨٩
7:90
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
malaʹul
the chiefs
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
disbelieved
مِن
miñ
among
قَوۡمِهِۦ
q̣awmihee
his people
لَئِنِ
laʹinit
If
ٱتَّبَعۡتُمۡ
tabaʻtum
you follow
شُعَيۡبًا
Shuʻayban
Shuaib
إِنَّكُمۡ
ʹinnakum
indeed you
إِذٗا
ʹiẓal
then
لَّخَٰسِرُونَ
lakhaasiroon!
(will be) certainly losers
٩٠
7:91
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
Faʹakhaẓathumur
Then seized them
ٱلرَّجۡفَةُ
rajfatu
the earthquake
فَأَصۡبَحُواْ
faʹaṣbaḥoo
then they became
فِي
fee
in
دَارِهِمۡ
daarihim
their home(s)
جَٰثِمِينَ
jaas̤imeen.
fallen prone
٩١
7:92
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
شُعَيۡبٗا
Shuʻaybañ
Shuaib
كَأَن
kaʹal
(became) as if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَغۡنَوۡاْ
yag̣naw
they (had) lived
فِيهَاۚ
feehal
therein
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
Those who
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
denied
شُعَيۡبٗا
Shuʻaybañ
Shuaib
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
هُمُ
humul
them
ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
khaasireen!
the losers
٩٢
7:93
فَتَوَلَّىٰ
Fatawallaa
So he turned away
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʹanhum
from them
وَقَالَ
wa-q̣aala
and said
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaa-q̣awmi
O my people
لَقَدۡ
laq̣ad
Verily
أَبۡلَغۡتُكُمۡ
ʹablag̣tukum
I (have) conveyed to you
رِسَٰلَٰتِ
risaalaati
(the) Messages
رَبِّي
Rabbee
(of) my Lord
وَنَصَحۡتُ
wa-naṣaḥtu
and advised
لَكُمۡۖ
lakum;
[to] you
فَكَيۡفَ
fakayfa
So how could
ءَاسَىٰ
ʹaasaa
I grieve
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
for
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmiñ
a people
كَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
(who are) disbelievers
٩٣
7:94
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And not
أَرۡسَلۡنَا
ʹarsalnaa
We sent
فِي
fee
in
قَرۡيَةٖ
q̣aryatim
a city
مِّن
min
any
نَّبِيٍّ
nabiyyin
Prophet
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَخَذۡنَآ
ʹakhaẓnaaa
We seized
أَهۡلَهَا
ʹahlahaa
its people
بِٱلۡبَأۡسَآءِ
bil-baʹsaaaʹi
with adversity
وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ
waḍḍarraaaʹi
and hardship
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَضَّرَّعُونَ
yaḍḍarraʻoon.
(become) humble
٩٤
7:95
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
بَدَّلۡنَا
baddalnaa
We changed
مَكَانَ
makaanas
(in) place
ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
sayyiʹatil
(of) the bad
ٱلۡحَسَنَةَ
ḥasanata
the good
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
عَفَواْ
ʻafaw
they increased
وَّقَالُواْ
Waq̣aaloo
and said
قَدۡ
q̣ad
Verily
مَسَّ
massa
(had) touched
ءَابَآءَنَا
ʹaabaaaʹanaḍ
our forefathers
ٱلضَّرَّآءُ
ḍarraaaʹu
the adversity
وَٱلسَّرَّآءُ
wassarraaaʹu
and the ease
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم
faʹakhaẓnaahum̃
So We seized them
بَغۡتَةٗ
bag̣tatañw
suddenly
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
لَا
laa-
(did) not
يَشۡعُرُونَ
yashʻuroon.
perceive

7:96
وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّ
ʹanna
[that]
أَهۡلَ
ʹahlal
people
ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ
q̣uraaa
(of) the cities
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
(had) believed
وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ
wattaq̣aw
and feared Allah
لَفَتَحۡنَا
lafataḥnaa
surely We (would have) opened
عَلَيۡهِم
ʻalayhim
upon them
بَرَكَٰتٖ
barakaatim
blessings
مِّنَ
minas
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
samaaaʹi
the heaven
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَلَٰكِن
wa-laakiñ
but
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
they denied
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُم
faʹakhaẓnaahum̃
So We seized them
بِمَا
bimaa
for what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
yaksiboon.
earn
٩٦
7:97
أَفَأَمِنَ
ʹA-faʹamina
Then did feel secure
أَهۡلُ
ahlul
(the) people
ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ
q̣uraaa
(of) the cities
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَأۡتِيَهُم
yaʹtiyahum
comes to them
بَأۡسُنَا
baʹsunaa
Our punishment
بَيَٰتٗا
bayaatañw
(at) night
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
نَآئِمُونَ
naaaʹimoon?
(were) asleep
٩٧
7:98
أَوَأَمِنَ
ʹA-waʹamina
Or felt secure
أَهۡلُ
ʹahlul
(the) people
ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ
q̣uraaa
(of) the cities
أَن
ʹañy
that
يَأۡتِيَهُم
yaʹtiyahum
comes to them
بَأۡسُنَا
baʹsunaa
Our punishment
ضُحٗى
ḍuḥañw
(in) daylight
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
يَلۡعَبُونَ
yalʻaboon?
(were) playing
٩٨
7:99
أَفَأَمِنُواْ
ʹA-faʹaminoo
Then did they feel secure
مَكۡرَ
makral
(from the) plan
ٱللَّهِۚ
laaḥ?
(of) Allah
فَلَا
Falaa
But not
يَأۡمَنُ
yaʹmanu
feel secure
مَكۡرَ
makral
(from the) plan
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡقَوۡمُ
q̣awmul
the people
ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
khaasiroon!
(who are) the losers
٩٩
7:100
أَوَلَمۡ
ʹA-walam
Would it not
يَهۡدِ
yahdi
guide
لِلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
[for] those who
يَرِثُونَ
yaris̤oonal
inherit
ٱلۡأَرۡضَ
ʹarḍa
the land
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
أَهۡلِهَآ
ʹahlihaaa
its people
أَن
ʹal
that
لَّوۡ
law
if
نَشَآءُ
nashaaaʹu
We willed
أَصَبۡنَٰهُم
ʹaṣabnaahum̃
We (could) afflict them
بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۚ
biẓunoobihim,
for their sins
وَنَطۡبَعُ
wa-naṭbaʻu
and We put a seal
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
قُلُوبِهِمۡ
q̣uloobihim
their hearts
فَهُمۡ
fahum
so they
لَا
laa-
(do) not
يَسۡمَعُونَ
yasmaʻoon?
hear
١٠٠
7:101
تِلۡكَ
Tilkal
These
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
q̣uraa
(were) the cities
نَقُصُّ
naq̣uṣṣu
We relate
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
to you
مِنۡ
min
of
أَنۢبَآئِهَاۚ
ʹambaaaʹihaa.
their news
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
جَآءَتۡهُمۡ
jaaaʹathum
came to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhum̃
their Messengers
بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
bil-Bayyinaat:
with clear proofs
فَمَا
famaa
but not
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
لِيُؤۡمِنُواْ
liyuʹminoo
to believe
بِمَا
bimaa
in what
كَذَّبُواْ
kaẓẓaboo
they (had) denied
مِن
miñ
from
قَبۡلُۚ
q̣abl.
before
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
يَطۡبَعُ
yaṭbaʻul
(has been) put a seal
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(by) Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
قُلُوبِ
q̣uloobil
(the) hearts
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
(of) the disbelievers
١٠١
7:102
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
وَجَدۡنَا
wajadnaa
We found
لِأَكۡثَرِهِم
liʹaks̤arihim
for most of them
مِّنۡ
min
any
عَهۡدٖۖ
ʻahd.
covenant
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñw
But
وَجَدۡنَآ
wajadnaaa
We found
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
ʹaks̤arahum
most of them
لَفَٰسِقِينَ
lafaasiq̣een.
certainly defiantly disobedient
١٠٢
7:103
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
بَعَثۡنَا
baʻas̤naa
We sent
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِهِم
baʻdihim
after them
مُّوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ
biʹAayaatinaaa
with Our Signs
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
to
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
Firaun
وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ
wa-malaʹihee
and his chiefs
فَظَلَمُواْ
faz̤̣alamoo
But they were unjust
بِهَاۖ
bihaa:
to them
فَٱنظُرۡ
fañz̤̣ur
So see
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kaana
was
عَٰقِبَةُ
ʻaaq̣ibatul
(the) end
ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
mufsideen.
(of) the corrupters
١٠٣
7:104
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And said
مُوسَىٰ
Moosaa
Musa
يَٰفِرۡعَوۡنُ
Yaa- -Firʻawnu
O Firaun
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I am
رَسُولٞ
Rasoolum
a Messenger
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّ
Rabbil
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
ʻAalameen.
(of) the worlds
١٠٤
Page 164
7:105
حَقِيقٌ
Ḥaq̣eeq̣un
Obligated
عَلَىٰٓ
ʻalaaa
on
أَن
ʹal
that
لَّآ
laaa
not
أَقُولَ
ʹaq̣oola
I say
عَلَى
ʻalal
about
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱلۡحَقَّۚ
ḥaq̣q̣.
the truth
قَدۡ
Q̣ad
Verily
جِئۡتُكُم
jiʹtukum̃
I (have) come to you
بِبَيِّنَةٖ
bi-Bayyinatim
with a clear Sign
مِّن
mir
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
Rabbikum
your Lord
فَأَرۡسِلۡ
faʹarsil
so send
مَعِيَ
maʻiya
with me
بَنِيٓ
Baneee
(the) Children
إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ
ʹIsraaaʹeel.
(of) Israel
١٠٥
7:106
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِن
ʹiñ
If
كُنتَ
kuñta
you have
جِئۡتَ
jiʹta
come
بِـَٔايَةٖ
biʹAayatiñ
with a Sign
فَأۡتِ
faʹti
then bring
بِهَآ
bihaaa
it
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتَ
kuñta
you are
مِنَ
minaṣ
of
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een.
the truthful
١٠٦
7:107
فَأَلۡقَىٰ
Faʹalq̣aa
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
ʻAṣaahu
his staff
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
and suddenly
هِيَ
hiya
it
ثُعۡبَانٞ
s̤uʻbaanum
(was) a serpent
مُّبِينٞ
mubeen!
manifest
١٠٧
7:108
وَنَزَعَ
Wa-nazaʻa
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
yadahoo
his hand
فَإِذَا
faʹiẓaa
and suddenly
هِيَ
hiya
it
بَيۡضَآءُ
bayḍaaaʹu
(was) white
لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ
linnaaz̤̣ireen!
for the observers
١٠٨
7:109
قَالَ
Q̣aalal
Said
ٱلۡمَلَأُ
malaʹu
the chiefs
مِن
miñ
of
قَوۡمِ
q̣awmi
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
Firʻawna
(of) Firaun
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
this
لَسَٰحِرٌ
lasaaḥirun
(is) surely a magician
عَلِيمٞ
ʻaleem.
learned
١٠٩
7:110
يُرِيدُ
Yureedu
He wants
أَن
ʹañy
to
يُخۡرِجَكُم
yukhrijakum
drive you out
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَرۡضِكُمۡۖ
ʹarḍikum:
your land
فَمَاذَا
famaaẓaa
so what
تَأۡمُرُونَ
taʹmuroon?
(do) you instruct
١١٠
7:111
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
أَرۡجِهۡ
ʹarjih
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
wa-ʹakhaahu
and his brother
وَأَرۡسِلۡ
wa-arsil
and send
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ
Madaaaʹini
the cities
حَٰشِرِينَ
ḥaashireena.
gatherers
١١١
7:112
يَأۡتُوكَ
Yaʹtooka
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
[with] every
سَٰحِرٍ
saaḥirin
magician
عَلِيمٖ
ʻaleem.
learned
١١٢
