About Us

About Islam Portal

Empowering Muslims worldwide to deepen their connection with the Quran through modern technology and thoughtful design.

Our Mission

Making Quranic study accessible to all

Islam Portal was created with a singular vision: to make the study of the Holy Quran accessible, engaging, and meaningful for everyone - regardless of their familiarity with the Arabic language or prior Islamic knowledge.

We believe that understanding the Quran should not be limited by language barriers or lack of access to qualified teachers. Through innovative technology, we bring the tools of classical Quranic scholarship to your fingertips, enabling personal study that is both rigorous and approachable.

Features

What We Offer

Granular Understanding

Our platform breaks down each verse into individual words, providing precise translations that illuminate the meaning of every Arabic term. This granular approach transforms how you engage with the sacred text.

Phonetic Guidance

For those unfamiliar with Arabic script, we provide romanized pronunciation guides that help you articulate each word correctly, bridging the gap between written text and spoken recitation.

Tajweed Visualization

Our color-coded system highlights the rules of proper recitation directly in the text. Each hue represents specific pronunciation guidelines - from elongation to nasalization - making proper recitation intuitive.

Audio Integration

Listen to individual words or complete verses from renowned reciters. Our audio features help reinforce proper pronunciation and allow you to learn through immersive listening.

Scholarly Commentary

Access detailed explanations from respected Islamic scholars that provide historical context, linguistic analysis, and deeper insights into the meanings behind each passage.

Linguistic Analysis

Explore the grammatical structure and root forms of Arabic words. Understanding morphology reveals patterns and connections that enrich your comprehension of the Quranic language.

Global Reach

Global Accessibility

The Quran's message is universal, and our platform reflects this by offering translations and transliterations in numerous languages. We continuously work to expand our linguistic offerings to serve more communities.

Technology

Built for Performance

Islam Portal is engineered with modern web technologies to deliver a fast, reliable experience. Our architecture prioritizes speed through intelligent caching, ensuring that pages load quickly even on slower connections.

We've implemented offline capabilities so you can continue your study without an internet connection. Once you visit a page, it's automatically saved for offline access - perfect for travel, areas with limited connectivity, or simply reducing data usage.

Tajweed Color Font Features on King Fahad Glorious Quran Printing Complex V4 Mushaf fonts were invented and developed by Ayman Siddiqui and co-developed by the team: Rania, Amena, Naveed Ahmed, Mohammed Zahid, Tooba, and Anza for Sadaqa-e-jaria (non-commercial) purposes only.

Chinese Word-by-Word Translation

We express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the Chinese word-by-word Quran translation, particularly Brother Ma Zhiren for his meticulous translation work completed in 2014, Brother Adam Voo from Malaysia, and Brother Usama Nonnenmacher for digitalizing the data, as well as Brothers Max Ma from Canada and Suleyman Abdullah from China for their collaboration. May Allah reward them all abundantly.
