23:2ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoهُمۡhum[they]فِيfeeduringصَلَاتِهِمۡṢalaatihimtheir prayersخَٰشِعُونَkhaashiʻoon;(are) humbly submissive٢
23:3وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaThose whoهُمۡhum[they]عَنِʻanilfromٱللَّغۡوِlag̣withe vain talkمُعۡرِضُونَmuʻriḍoon;turn away٣
23:4وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaThose whoهُمۡhum[they]لِلزَّكَوٰةِliz-Zakaatiof purification worksفَٰعِلُونَfaaʻiloon;(are) doers٤
23:5وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaAnd those whoهُمۡhum[they]لِفُرُوجِهِمۡlifuroojihimof their modestyحَٰفِظُونَḥaafiz̤̣oon,(are) guardians٥
23:6إِلَّاʹIllaaExceptعَلَىٰٓʻalaaafromأَزۡوَٰجِهِمۡʹazwaajihimtheir spousesأَوۡʹaworمَاmaa-whatمَلَكَتۡmalakatpossessأَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡʹaymaanuhumtheir right handsفَإِنَّهُمۡfaʹinnahumthen indeed theyغَيۡرُg̣ayru(are) notمَلُومِينَmaloomeen.blameworthy٦
23:7فَمَنِFamanibThen whoeverٱبۡتَغَىٰtag̣aaseeksوَرَآءَwaraaaʹabeyondذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatفَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَfaʹulaaaʹikathen thoseهُمُhumul[they]ٱلۡعَادُونَʻaadoon;(are) the transgressors٧
23:8وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaAnd those whoهُمۡhum[they]لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡliʹamaanaatihimof their trustsوَعَهۡدِهِمۡwa-ʻahdihimand their promise(s)رَٰعُونَraaʻoon;(are) observers٨
23:9وَٱلَّذِينَwallaẓeenaAnd those whoهُمۡhum[they]عَلَىٰʻalaaoverصَلَوَٰتِهِمۡṢalawaatihimtheir prayersيُحَافِظُونَyuḥaafiz̤̣oon.they guard٩
23:11ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaWhoيَرِثُونَyaris̤oonalwill inheritٱلۡفِرۡدَوۡسَFirdaws:the ParadiseهُمۡhumTheyفِيهَاfeehaathereinخَٰلِدُونَkhaalidoon.(will) abide forever١١
23:12وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd indeedخَلَقۡنَاkhalaq̣nalWe createdٱلۡإِنسَٰنَʹiñsaanathe humankindمِنmiñfromسُلَٰلَةٖsulaalatiman essenceمِّنmiñofطِينٖṭeen;clay١٢
23:13ثُمَّS̤ummaThenجَعَلۡنَٰهُjaʻalnaahuWe placed himنُطۡفَةٗnuṭfatañ(as) a semen-dropفِيfeeinقَرَارٖq̣araarima resting placeمَّكِينٖmakeen;firm١٣
23:14ثُمَّS̤ummaThenخَلَقۡنَاkhalaq̣nanWe createdٱلنُّطۡفَةَnuṭfatathe semen-dropعَلَقَةٗʻalaq̣atañ(into) a clinging substanceفَخَلَقۡنَاfakhalaq̣nalthen We createdٱلۡعَلَقَةَʻalaq̣atathe clinging substanceمُضۡغَةٗmuḍg̣atañ(into) an embryonic lumpفَخَلَقۡنَاfakhalaq̣nalthen We createdٱلۡمُضۡغَةَmuḍg̣atathe embryonic lumpعِظَٰمٗاʻiz̤̣aamañ(into) bonesفَكَسَوۡنَاfakasawnalthen We clothedٱلۡعِظَٰمَʻiz̤̣aamathe bonesلَحۡمٗاlaḥmaa;(with) fleshثُمَّs̤ummathenأَنشَأۡنَٰهُʹañshaʹnaahuWe produce itخَلۡقًاkhalq̣an(as) a creationءَاخَرَۚʹaakhar.anotherفَتَبَارَكَFatabaarakalSo blessed isٱللَّهُlaahuAllahأَحۡسَنُʹAḥsanul(the) Bestٱلۡخَٰلِقِينَkhaaliq̣een!(of) the Creators١٤
23:15ثُمَّS̤ummaThenإِنَّكُمʹinnakumindeed youبَعۡدَbaʻdaafterذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatلَمَيِّتُونَlamayyitoon.surely (will) die١٥
23:16ثُمَّS̤ummaThenإِنَّكُمۡʹinnakumindeed youيَوۡمَYawmal(on the) DayٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِQ̣iyaamati(of) the Resurrectionتُبۡعَثُونَtubʻas̤oon.will be resurrected١٦
23:17وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣adAnd indeedخَلَقۡنَاkhalaq̣naaWe (have) createdفَوۡقَكُمۡfawq̣akumabove youسَبۡعَsabʻasevenطَرَآئِقَṭaraaaʹiq̣apathsوَمَاwa-maaand notكُنَّاkunnaaWe areعَنِʻanilofٱلۡخَلۡقِkhalq̣ithe creationغَٰفِلِينَg̣aafileen.unaware١٧
23:18وَأَنزَلۡنَاWa-ʹañzalnaaAnd We send downمِنَminasfromٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹithe skyمَآءَۢmaaaʹamwaterبِقَدَرٖbiq̣adariñin (due) measureفَأَسۡكَنَّٰهُfaʹaskannaahuthen We cause it to settleفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِۖʹarḍithe earthوَإِنَّاwa-ʹInnaaAnd indeed Weعَلَىٰʻalaaonذَهَابِۭẓahaabimtaking it awayبِهِۦbiheetaking it awayلَقَٰدِرُونَla-Q̣aadiroon.surely (are) Able١٨
23:19فَأَنشَأۡنَاFaʹañshaʹnaaThen We producedلَكُمlakum̃for youبِهِۦbiheeby itجَنَّٰتٖjannaatimgardensمِّنminof date-palmsنَّخِيلٖnakheeliñwof date-palmsوَأَعۡنَٰبٖwaʹaʻnaab.and grapevinesلَّكُمۡLakumfor youفِيهَاfeehaain itفَوَٰكِهُfawaakihu(are) fruitsكَثِيرَةٞkas̤eeratuñwabundantوَمِنۡهَاwaminhaaand from themتَأۡكُلُونَtaʹkuloon,you eat١٩
23:20وَشَجَرَةٗWa-shajaratañAnd a treeتَخۡرُجُtakhruju(that) springs forthمِنmiñfromطُورِṬooriMount SinaiسَيۡنَآءَSaynaaaʹaMount Sinaiتَنۢبُتُtambutu(which) producesبِٱلدُّهۡنِbidduhnioilوَصِبۡغٖwaṣibg̣iland a relishلِّلۡأٓكِلِينَlil-ʹaa-kileen.for those who eat٢٠
23:21وَإِنَّWa-ʹinnaAnd indeedلَكُمۡlakumfor youفِيfilinٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِʹanʻaamithe cattleلَعِبۡرَةٗۖlaʻibrah:surely (is) a lessonنُّسۡقِيكُمnusq̣eekumWe give you drinkمِّمَّاmimmaafrom whatفِيfee(is) inبُطُونِهَاbuṭoonihaatheir belliesوَلَكُمۡwa-lakumand for youفِيهَاfeehaain themمَنَٰفِعُmanaafiʻu(are) benefitsكَثِيرَةٞkas̤eeratuñwmanyوَمِنۡهَاwaminhaaand of themتَأۡكُلُونَtaʹkuloon;you eat٢١
23:22وَعَلَيۡهَاWa-ʻalayhaaAnd on themوَعَلَىwa-ʻalaland onٱلۡفُلۡكِfulki[the] shipsتُحۡمَلُونَtuḥmaloon.you are carried٢٢
23:23وَلَقَدۡWa-laq̣ad.And verilyأَرۡسَلۡنَاʹarsalnaaWe sentنُوحًاNooḥanNuhإِلَىٰʹilaatoقَوۡمِهِۦq̣awmiheehis peopleفَقَالَfaq̣aalaand he saidيَٰقَوۡمِyaaO my peopleٱعۡبُدُواْq̣awmiʻbudulWorshipٱللَّهَlaahaAllahمَاmaa-notلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنۡmin(is) anyإِلَٰهٍʹilaahingodغَيۡرُهُۥٓۚg̣ayruh.other than HimأَفَلَاʹAfalaaThen will notتَتَّقُونَtattaq̣oon?you fear٢٣
23:24فَقَالَFaq̣aalalBut saidٱلۡمَلَؤُاْmalaʹulthe chiefsٱلَّذِينَlaẓeena(of) those whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelievedمِنmiñamongقَوۡمِهِۦq̣awmiheehis peopleمَاmaa-This is notهَٰذَآhaaẓaaaThis is notإِلَّاʹillaabutبَشَرٞbasharuma manمِّثۡلُكُمۡmis̤lukumlike youيُرِيدُyureeduhe wishesأَنʹañytoيَتَفَضَّلَyatafaḍḍalaassert (his) superiorityعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykum:over youوَلَوۡwa-lawand ifشَآءَshaaaʹalAllah had willedٱللَّهُlaahuAllah had willedلَأَنزَلَlaʹañzalasurely He (would have) sent downمَلَٰٓئِكَةٗmalaaaʹikah:Angelsمَّاmaa-Notسَمِعۡنَاsamiʻnaawe heardبِهَٰذَاbihaaẓaaof thisفِيٓfeeefromءَابَآئِنَاʹaabaaaʹinalour forefathersٱلۡأَوَّلِينَʹawwaleen.our forefathers٢٤
23:25إِنۡʹInNotهُوَhuwaheإِلَّاʹillaa(is) butرَجُلُۢrajuluma manبِهِۦbiheein himجِنَّةٞjinnatuñ(is) madnessفَتَرَبَّصُواْfatarabbaṣooso waitبِهِۦbiheeconcerning himحَتَّىٰḥattaauntilحِينٖḥeen.a time٢٥
