After Rising From Ruku - Ask Allah for Protection

Ayesha (RA) tells us: One night, I woke up and could not find the Prophet (ﷺ) next to me. I looked for him in the dark. My hand touched his foot. He was in sujood with his feet up. This is what he was saying:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ، وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ، لَا أُحْصِيْ ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ، أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ

Transliteration

Allaahumma 'innee 'a'oodhu biridhaaka min sakhatik, wa bimu'aafaatika min 'uqoobatik wa 'a'oodhu bika minka, laa 'uhsee thanaa'an 'alayka, 'Anta kamaa 'athnayta 'alaa nafsik

Translation

O Allah, I seek protection in Your pleasure from Your anger, and I seek protection in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek protection in You from You. I cannot count Your praises. You are as You have praised Yourself.

When to Recite Dua After Ruku

Common Questions

When you stand up from ruku in salah, first say Sami Allah Hu Liman Hamida. Then say Rabbana Walakal Hamd. Want to add more? Say Hamdan Kathiran Tayyiban Mubarakan Fih for extra praise in your prayers.

Stand up from ruku. Then say this: O Allah, for You Alone is all Praise. It fills the sky and earth and everything You want after that. Ask Allah to clean you with snow, hail, and cold water in your prayers.

Want Allah to be happy? Ask Him to protect you from His anger. Ask Him to save you from losing blessings and sudden punishment. Say Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matika with a true heart in your prayers.

After saying Samiʿ Allāhu Liman Ḥamidah in salah, both the imam and the person praying alone should say Rabbanā walak alḤamd. This praise to Allah completes this part of the prayer.

In ruku, say this: O Allah, to You I bow. I believe and I submit. My ears, my eyes, and my whole body are humble before You. You hold all power and greatness in this world and the next.
