إِذَا
idha
When
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
al-samau
the sky
ٱنفَطَرَتۡ
infatarat
(is) cleft asunder

When the sky is torn apart

ﲪﲫﲮﲴ
82:2
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ
al-kawakibu
the stars
ٱنتَثَرَتۡ
intatharat
scatter

when the stars are scattered

82:3
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
ٱلۡبِحَارُ
al-biharu
the seas
فُجِّرَتۡ
fujjirat
are made to gush forth
٣
when the seas burst forth

وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
ٱلۡقُبُورُ
al-quburu
the graves
بُعۡثِرَتۡ
bu'thirat
are overturned
٤
when graves turn inside out

82:5
عَلِمَتۡ
alimat
Will know
نَفۡسٞ
nafsun
a soul
مَّا
ma
what
قَدَّمَتۡ
qaddamat
it has sent forth
وَأَخَّرَتۡ
wa-akharat
and left behind
٥
each soul will know what it has done and what it has left undone

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ
al-insanu
man
مَا
ma
What
غَرَّكَ
gharraka
has deceived you
بِرَبِّكَ
birabbika
concerning your Lord
ٱلۡكَرِيمِ
al-karimi
the Most Noble
٦
Mankind, what has lured you away from God

82:7
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
Who
خَلَقَكَ
khalaqaka
created you
فَسَوَّىٰكَ
fasawwaka
then fashioned you
فَعَدَلَكَ
fa'adalaka
then balanced you
٧
your generous Lord, who created you, shaped you, proportioned you

فِيٓ
fi
In
أَيِّ
ayyi
whatever
صُورَةٖ
suratin
form
مَّا
ma
what
شَآءَ
shaa
He willed
رَكَّبَكَ
rakkabaka
He assembled you
٨
in whatever form He chose

82:9
كـَلَّا
kalla
Nay
بَلۡ
bal
But
تُكَذِّبُونَ
tukadhibuna
you deny
بِٱلدِّينِ
bil-dini
the Judgment
٩
Yet you still take the Judgement to be a lie

وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
over you
لَحَٰفِظِينَ
lahafizina
(are) surely guardians
١٠
Over you stand

82:11
كِرَامٗا
kiraman
Noble
كَٰتِبِينَ
katibina
recording
١١
watchers, noble recorders

82:12
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
They know
مَا
ma
whatever
تَفۡعَلُونَ
taf 'aluna
you do
١٢
who know what you do

82:13
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ
al-abrara
the righteous
لَفِي
lafi
(will be) surely in
نَعِيمٖ
na'imin
bliss
١٣
the good will live in bliss

82:14
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
ٱلۡفُجَّارَ
al-fujara
the wicked
لَفِي
lafi
(will be) surely in
جَحِيمٖ
jahimin
Hellfire
١٤
and the wicked will burn in the Fire

يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا
yaslawnaha
They will burn (in) it
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
al-dini
(of) the Judgment
١٥
They will enter it on the Day of Judgement

وَمَا
wama
And not
هُمۡ
hum
they
عَنۡهَا
anha
from it
بِغَآئِبِينَ
bighaibina
(will be) absent
١٦
and they will find no escape

وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
can make you know
مَا
ma
what
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
al-dini
(of) the Judgment

What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
مَآ
ma
what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
can make you know
مَا
ma
what
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
al-dini
(of) the Judgment

Yes! What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is

يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
لَا
la
not
تَمۡلِكُ
tamliku
will have power
نَفۡسٞ
nafsun
a soul
لِّنَفۡسٖ
linafsin
for a soul
شَيۡـٔٗاۖ
shayan
anything
وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ
wal-amru
and the Command
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلَّهِ
lillahi
(will be) with Allah
١٩
The Day when no soul will be able to do anything for another; on that Day, command will belong to God
