أَحۡيَآءٗ
ahyaan
(For the) living
وَأَمۡوَٰتٗا
wa-amwatan
and (the) dead
٢٦
for the living and the dead
Translation 1260
Al-Mursalat 77:39
77:27
وَجَعَلۡنَا
waja'alna
And We made
فِيهَا
fiha
therein
رَوَٰسِيَ
rawasiya
firmly set mountains
شَٰمِخَٰتٖ
shamikhatin
lofty
وَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُم
wa-asqaynakum
and We gave you to drink
مَّآءٗ
maan
water
فُرَاتٗا
furatan
sweet
٢٧
Did We not place firm, lofty mountains on it and provide you with sweet water

77:28
وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٢٨
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

77:29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ
intaliqu
Proceed
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
مَا
ma
what
كُنتُم
kuntum
you used to
بِهِۦ
bihi
in it
تُكَذِّبُونَ
tukadhibuna
deny
٢٩
They will be told, ‘Go to that which you used to deny

ٱنطَلِقُوٓاْ
intaliqu
Proceed
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
ظِلّٖ
zillin
a shadow
ذِي
dhi
having
ثَلَٰثِ
thalathi
three
شُعَبٖ
shu'abin
columns
٣٠
Go to a shadow of smoke!’ It rises in three columns

77:31
لَّا
la
No
ظَلِيلٖ
zalilin
cool shade
وَلَا
wala
and not
يُغۡنِي
yugh'ni
availing
مِنَ
mina
against
ٱللَّهَبِ
al-lahabi
the flame
٣١
no shade does it give, nor relief from the flame

77:32
إِنَّهَا
innaha
Indeed it
تَرۡمِي
tarmi
throws up
بِشَرَرٖ
bishararin
sparks
كَٱلۡقَصۡرِ
kal-qasri
as the fortress
٣٢
it shoots out sparks as large as treetrunks

77:33
كَأَنَّهُۥ
ka-annahu
As if they (were)
جِمَٰلَتٞ
jimalatun
camels
صُفۡرٞ
suf'run
yellow
٣٣
and as bright as copper
Translation 1260
77:34
وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٣٤
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

77:35
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is) a Day
لَا
la
not
يَنطِقُونَ
yantiquna
they will speak
٣٥
On that Day they will be speechless

77:36
وَلَا
wala
And not
يُؤۡذَنُ
yu'dhanu
will it be permitted
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
فَيَعۡتَذِرُونَ
faya'tadhiruna
to make excuses
٣٦
and they will be given no chance to offer any excuses

وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٣٧
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

77:38
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
يَوۡمُ
yawmu
(is the) Day
ٱلۡفَصۡلِۖ
al-fasli
(of) Judgment
جَمَعۡنَٰكُمۡ
jama'nakum
We have gathered you
وَٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
wal-awalina
and the former (people)
٣٨
[They will be told], ‘This is the Day of Decision: We have gathered you and earlier generations

فَإِن
fa-in
So if
كَانَ
kana
is
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
كَيۡدٞ
kaydun
a plan
فَكِيدُونِ
fakiduni
then plan against Me
٣٩
If you have any plots against Me, try them now.’

77:40
وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٤٠
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

77:41
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
al-mutaqina
the righteous
فِي
fi
(will be) in
ظِلَٰلٖ
zilalin
shades
وَعُيُونٖ
wa'uyunin
and springs
٤١
But those who took heed of God will enjoy cool shade, springs

77:42
وَفَوَٰكِهَ
wafawakiha
And fruits
مِمَّا
mimma
from what
يَشۡتَهُونَ
yashtahuna
they desire
٤٢
and any fruit they desire

77:43
كُلُواْ
kulu
Eat
وَٱشۡرَبُواْ
wa-ish'rabu
and drink
هَنِيٓـَٔۢا
hanian
(in) satisfaction
بِمَا
bima
for what
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you used to
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
do
٤٣
[they will be told], ‘Eat and drink to your hearts’ content as a reward for your deeds

77:44
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed We
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
thus
نَجۡزِي
najzi
reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
al-muh'sinina
the good-doers
٤٤
this is how We reward those who do good.’

77:45
وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٤٥
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

كُلُواْ
kulu
Eat
وَتَمَتَّعُواْ
watamatta'u
and enjoy yourselves
قَلِيلًا
qalilan
a little
إِنَّكُم
innakum
indeed you
مُّجۡرِمُونَ
muj'rimuna
(are) criminals
٤٦
[You may] eat and enjoy yourselves for a short while, evildoers that you are

وَيۡلٞ

Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers

Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
قِيلَ
qila
it is said
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
ٱرۡكَعُواْ
ir'ka'u
Bow
لَا
la
not
يَرۡكَعُونَ
yarka'una
they bow
٤٨
When they are told, ‘Bow down in prayer,’ they do not do so

وَيۡلٞ

Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
٤٩
Woe, on that Day, to those who denied the truth

فَبِأَيِّ
fabi-ayyi
Then in what
حَدِيثِۭ
hadithin
statement
بَعۡدَهُۥ
ba'dahu
after it
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yu'minuna
will they believe

In what revelation, after this, will they believe
