42:32وَمِنۡWa-minAnd amongءَايَٰتِهِʹAayaatihilHis Signsٱلۡجَوَارِjawaari(are) the shipsفِيfilinٱلۡبَحۡرِbaḥrithe seaكَٱلۡأَعۡلَٰمِkal-ʹaʻlaam.like [the] mountains٣٢
42:33إِنʹIñyIfيَشَأۡyashaʹHe willsيُسۡكِنِyuskinirHe can cause the wind to become stillٱلرِّيحَreeḥaHe can cause the wind to become stillفَيَظۡلَلۡنَfayaz̤̣lalnathen they would remainرَوَاكِدَrawaakidamotionlessعَلَىٰʻalaaonظَهۡرِهِۦٓۚz̤̣ahrih.its backإِنَّʹInnaIndeedفِيfeeinذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaʹAayaatilsurely (are) Signsلِّكُلِّlikullifor everyoneصَبَّارٖṣabbariñpatientشَكُورٍshakoor.(and) grateful٣٣
42:34أَوۡʹAwOrيُوبِقۡهُنَّyoobiq̣hunnaHe could destroy themبِمَاbimaafor whatكَسَبُواْkasaboothey have earnedوَيَعۡفُwa-yaʻfubut He pardonsعَنʻañ[from]كَثِيرٖkas̤eer.much٣٤
42:35وَيَعۡلَمَWa-yaʻlamalAnd may knowٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoيُجَٰدِلُونَyujaadiloonadisputeفِيٓfeeeconcerningءَايَٰتِنَاAayaatinaa,Our Signsمَاmaa-ʹ(that) notلَهُمlahumfor themمِّنmimanyمَّحِيصٖmaḥeeṣ.place of refuge٣٥
42:36فَمَآFamaaaSo whateverأُوتِيتُمʹooteetumyou are givenمِّنmiñofشَيۡءٖshayʹiña thingفَمَتَٰعُfamataaʻul(is) but a passing enjoymentٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatid(for) the lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۚdunyaa:(of) the worldوَمَاwa-maaBut whatعِندَʻiñdal(is) withٱللَّهِlaahiAllahخَيۡرٞkhayruñw(is) betterوَأَبۡقَىٰwaʹabq̣aaand more lastingلِلَّذِينَlillaẓeenafor those whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveوَعَلَىٰwa-ʻalaaand uponرَبِّهِمۡRabbihimtheir Lordيَتَوَكَّلُونَyatawakkaloon;put (their) trust٣٦
42:37وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaAnd those whoيَجۡتَنِبُونَyajtaniboonaavoidكَبَٰٓئِرَkabaaaʹiral(the) greaterٱلۡإِثۡمِʹis̤misinsوَٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَwal-fawaaḥishaand the immoralitiesوَإِذَاwaʹiẓaaand whenمَاmaa-and whenغَضِبُواْg̣aḍiboothey are angryهُمۡhumtheyيَغۡفِرُونَyag̣firoon;forgive٣٧
42:38وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenasAnd those whoٱسۡتَجَابُواْtajaaboorespondلِرَبِّهِمۡli-Rabbihimto their Lordوَأَقَامُواْwa-ʹaq̣aamuṣand establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَṢalaah;prayerوَأَمۡرُهُمۡwa-ʹamruhumand their affairsشُورَىٰSHOORAA(are conducted by) consultationبَيۡنَهُمۡbaynahum;among themوَمِمَّاwa-mimmaaand from whatرَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡrazaq̣naahumWe have provided themيُنفِقُونَyuñfiq̣oon;they spend٣٨
42:39وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenaAnd those whoإِذَآʹiẓaaawhenأَصَابَهُمُʹaṣaabahumulstrikes themٱلۡبَغۡيُbag̣yutyrannyهُمۡhumtheyيَنتَصِرُونَyañtaṣiroon.defend themselves٣٩
42:40وَجَزَٰٓؤُاْWa-jazaaaʹu(The) recompenseسَيِّئَةٖsayyiʹatiñ(of) an evilسَيِّئَةٞsayyiʹatum(is) an evilمِّثۡلُهَاۖmis̤luhaa:like itفَمَنۡfamanBut whoeverعَفَاʻafaapardonsوَأَصۡلَحَwa-ʹaṣlaḥaand makes reconciliationفَأَجۡرُهُۥfaʹajruhoothen his rewardعَلَىʻalal(is) onٱللَّهِۚlaah:AllahإِنَّهُۥʹinnahooIndeed Heلَاlaa-(does) notيُحِبُّyuḥibbuz̤̣likeٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeen.the wrongdoers٤٠
42:41وَلَمَنِWa-lamaniñAnd surely whosoeverٱنتَصَرَtaṣaradefends himselfبَعۡدَbaʻdaafterظُلۡمِهِۦz̤̣ulmiheehe has been wrongedفَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَfaʹulaaaʹikathen thoseمَاmaa-notعَلَيۡهِمʻalayhim(is) against themمِّنmiñanyسَبِيلٍsabeel.way٤١
42:42إِنَّمَاʹInnamasOnlyٱلسَّبِيلُsabeeluthe wayعَلَىʻalalagainstٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoيَظۡلِمُونَyaz̤̣limoonanoppressٱلنَّاسَnaasathe peopleوَيَبۡغُونَwa-yabg̣oonaand rebelفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe earthبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayrilwithoutٱلۡحَقِّۚḥaq̣q̣:rightأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹulaaaʹikaThoseلَهُمۡlahumfor themعَذَابٌʻAẓaabun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٞʹaleem.painful٤٢
42:43وَلَمَنWa-lamañAnd whoeverصَبَرَṣabara(is) patientوَغَفَرَwa-g̣afaraand forgivesإِنَّʹinnaindeedذَٰلِكَẓaalikathatلَمِنۡlamin(is) surely ofعَزۡمِʻazmilmatters of determinationٱلۡأُمُورِʹumoor.matters of determination٤٣
42:44وَمَنWa-mañyAnd whoeverيُضۡلِلِyuḍliAllah lets go astrayٱللَّهُlillaahuAllah lets go astrayفَمَاfamaathen notلَهُۥlahoofor himمِنmiñwanyوَلِيّٖwaliyyimprotectorمِّنۢmimafter Himبَعۡدِهِۦۗbaʻdih.after HimوَتَرَىWa-taraz̤̣And you will seeٱلظَّٰلِمِينَz̤̣aalimeenathe wrongdoersلَمَّاlammaawhenرَأَوُاْraʹawulthey seeٱلۡعَذَابَʻaẓaabathe punishmentيَقُولُونَyaq̣ooloonasayingهَلۡhalIsإِلَىٰʹilaa(there) forمَرَدّٖmaraddimreturnمِّنmiñanyسَبِيلٖsabeel?way٤٤
