42:3كَذَٰلِكَKaẓaalikaThusيُوحِيٓyooḥeeerevealsإِلَيۡكَʹilaykato youوَإِلَىwa-ʹilaland toٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathoseمِنmiñbefore you قَبۡلِكَq̣ablikalbefore you ٱللَّهُlaahulAllahٱلۡعَزِيزُʻAzeezulthe All-MightyٱلۡحَكِيمُḤakeem.the All-Wise٣
42:4لَهُۥLahooTo Himمَاmaa-(belong) whateverفِيfis(is) inٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِsamaawaatithe heavensوَمَاwa-maaand whateverفِيfil(is) inٱلۡأَرۡضِۖʹarḍ:the earthوَهُوَwa-Huwaland HeٱلۡعَلِيُّʻAliyyul(is) the Most HighٱلۡعَظِيمُʻAz̤̣eem.the Most Great٤
42:5تَكَادُTakaadusAlmostٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُsamaawaatuthe heavensيَتَفَطَّرۡنَyatafaṭṭarnabreak upمِنmiñfromفَوۡقِهِنَّۚfawq̣ihinnaabove themوَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُwalmalaaaʹikatuand the Angelsيُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥoonaglorifyبِحَمۡدِbi-Ḥamdi(the) praiseرَبِّهِمۡRabbihim(of) their Lordوَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَwa-yastag̣firoonaand ask for forgivenessلِمَنlimañfor thoseفِيfilonٱلۡأَرۡضِۗʹarḍ:the earthأَلَآʹalaaaUnquestionablyإِنَّʹinnalindeedٱللَّهَlaahaAllahهُوَHuwalHeٱلۡغَفُورُG̣afoorur(is) the Oft-ForgivingٱلرَّحِيمُRaḥeem.the Most Merciful٥
42:6وَٱلَّذِينَWallaẓeenatAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُواْtakhaẓootakeمِنmiñbesidesدُونِهِۦٓdooniheeebesidesأَوۡلِيَآءَʹawliyaaaʹalprotectorsٱللَّهُlaahuAllahحَفِيظٌḥafeez̤̣un(is) a Guardianعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimover themوَمَآwa-maaaand notأَنتَʹañtayouعَلَيۡهِمʻalayhim̃(are) over themبِوَكِيلٖbiwakeel.a manager٦
42:7وَكَذَٰلِكَWa-kaẓaalikaAnd thusأَوۡحَيۡنَآʹawḥaynaaaWe have revealedإِلَيۡكَʹilaykato youقُرۡءَانًاQ̣ur-ʹaanana QuranعَرَبِيّٗاʻArabiyyal(in) Arabicلِّتُنذِرَlituñẓirathat you may warnأُمَّʹUmmal(the) motherٱلۡقُرَىٰQ̣uraa(of) the townsوَمَنۡwa-manand whoeverحَوۡلَهَاḥawlahaa(is) around itوَتُنذِرَwa-tuñẓiraand warnيَوۡمَYawmal(of the) DayٱلۡجَمۡعِJamʻi(of) Assemblyلَاlaa-(there is) noرَيۡبَraybadoubtفِيهِۚfeeh:in itفَرِيقٞfareeq̣uñA partyفِيfil(will be) inٱلۡجَنَّةِJannatiParadiseوَفَرِيقٞwa-fareeq̣uñand a partyفِيfisinٱلسَّعِيرِSaʻeer.the Blazing Fire٧
42:8وَلَوۡWa-lawAnd ifشَآءَshaaaʹalAllah willedٱللَّهُlaahuAllah willedلَجَعَلَهُمۡlajaʻalahumHe could have made themأُمَّةٗʹUmmatañwa communityوَٰحِدَةٗWaaḥidatañwoneوَلَٰكِنwalaakiñybutيُدۡخِلُyudkhiluHe admitsمَنmañywhomيَشَآءُyashaaaʹuHe willsفِيfeein (to)رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚRaḥmatih;His Mercyوَٱلظَّٰلِمُونَwaz̤̣z̤̣aalimoonaAnd the wrongdoersمَاmaa-notلَهُمlahumfor themمِّنmiñwanyوَلِيّٖwaliyyiñwprotectorوَلَاwalaaand notنَصِيرٍnaṣeer.any helper٨
42:9أَمِʹAmitOrٱتَّخَذُواْtakhaẓoohave they takenمِنmiñbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdooniheeebesides Himأَوۡلِيَآءَۖʹawliyaaaʹ?protectorsفَٱللَّهُFallaahuBut Allah هُوَHuwalHeٱلۡوَلِيُّWaliyyu(is) the Protectorوَهُوَwa-Huwaand Heيُحۡيِyuḥyilgives lifeٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰmawtaa,(to) the deadوَهُوَwa-HuwaAnd Heعَلَىٰʻalaa(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيۡءٖshayʹiñthingقَدِيرٞQ̣adeer.All-Powerful٩
42:10وَمَاWa-makhAnd whateverٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡtalaftumyou differفِيهِfeehiin itمِنmiñofشَيۡءٖshayʹiña thingفَحُكۡمُهُۥٓfaḥukmuhooothen its rulingإِلَىʹilal(is) toٱللَّهِۚlaah:AllahذَٰلِكُمُẓaalikumulThatٱللَّهُlaahu(is) AllahرَبِّيRabbeemy Lordعَلَيۡهِʻalayhiupon HimتَوَكَّلۡتُtawakkaltuI put my trustوَإِلَيۡهِwa-ʹilayhiand to Himأُنِيبُʹuneeb.I turn١٠
