وَلَقَدۡ

جَآءَكُمۡ

came to you

bil-bayinati
with clear proofs
فَمَا
fama
but not
زِلۡتُمۡ

you ceased

شَكّٖ

doubt
مِّمَّا
mimma
about what
جَآءَكُم
jaakum
he brought to you
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
[with it]
حَتَّىٰٓ
hatta
until
إِذَا
idha
when
هَلَكَ
halaka
he died
قُلۡتُمۡ
qul'tum
you said
لَن
lan
Never
يَبۡعَثَ
yab'atha
will Allah raise
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
will Allah raise
مِنۢ
min
after him
بَعۡدِهِۦ
ba'dihi
after him
رَسُولٗاۚ
rasulan
a Messenger
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Thus
يُضِلُّ
yudillu
Allah lets go astray
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah lets go astray
مَنۡ
man
who
هُوَ
huwa
[he]
مُسۡرِفٞ
mus'rifun
(is) a transgressor
مُّرۡتَابٌ
mur'tabun
a doubter
٣٤
40:35
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
يُجَٰدِلُونَ
yujadiluna
dispute
فِيٓ
fi
concerning
ءَايَٰتِ
ayati
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
without
سُلۡطَٰنٍ
sul'tanin
any authority
أَتَىٰهُمۡۖ
atahum
(having) come to them
كَبُرَ
kabura
(it) is greatly
مَقۡتًا
maqtan
hateful
عِندَ
inda
near Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
near Allah
وَعِندَ
wa'inda
and near
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those
ءَامَنُواْۚ
amanu
who believe
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Thus
يَطۡبَعُ
yatba'u
Allah sets a seal
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah sets a seal
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
كُلِّ
kulli
every
قَلۡبِ
qalbi
heart
مُتَكَبِّرٖ
mutakabbirin
(of) an arrogant
جَبَّارٖ
jabbarin
tyrant
٣٥
40:36
وَقَالَ
waqala
And said
فِرۡعَوۡنُ
fir'awnu
Firaun
يَٰهَٰمَٰنُ
yahamanu
O Haman
ٱبۡنِ
ib'ni
Construct
لِي
li
for me
صَرۡحٗا
sarhan
a tower
لَّعَلِّيٓ
la'alli
that I may
أَبۡلُغُ
ablughu
reach
ٱلۡأَسۡبَٰبَ
al-asbaba
the ways
٣٦
40:37
أَسۡبَٰبَ
asbaba
(The) ways
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
(to) the heavens
فَأَطَّلِعَ
fa-attali'a
so I may look
إِلَىٰٓ
ila
at
إِلَٰهِ
ilahi
(the) God
مُوسَىٰ
musa
(of) Musa
وَإِنِّي
wa-inni
and indeed I
لَأَظُنُّهُۥ
la-azunnuhu
[I] surely think him
كَٰذِبٗاۚ
kadhiban
(to be) a liar
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhalika
And thus
زُيِّنَ
zuyyina
was made fair-seeming
لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ
lifir'awna
to Firaun
سُوٓءُ
suu
(the) evil
عَمَلِهِۦ
amalihi
(of) his deed
وَصُدَّ
wasudda
and he was averted
عَنِ
ani
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ
al-sabili
the way
وَمَا
wama
And not
كَيۡدُ
kaydu
(was the) plot
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
إِلَّا
illa
except
فِي
fi
in
تَبَابٖ
tababin
ruin
٣٧
40:38
وَقَالَ
waqala
And said
ٱلَّذِيٓ
alladhi
the one who
ءَامَنَ
amana
believed
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaqawmi
O my people
ٱتَّبِعُونِ
ittabi'uni
Follow me
أَهۡدِكُمۡ
ahdikum
I will guide you
سَبِيلَ
sabila
(to the) way
ٱلرَّشَادِ
al-rashadi
the right
٣٨
40:39
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaqawmi
O my people
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
هَٰذِهِ
hadhihi
this
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ
al-hayatu
the life
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
al-dun'ya
(of) the world
مَتَٰعٞ
mata'un
(is) enjoyment
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
and indeed
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ
al-akhirata
the Hereafter
هِيَ
hiya
it
دَارُ
daru
(is the) home
ٱلۡقَرَارِ
al-qarari
(of) settlement
٣٩
40:40
مَنۡ
man
Whoever
عَمِلَ
amila
does
سَيِّئَةٗ
sayyi-atan
an evil
فَلَا
fala
then not
يُجۡزَىٰٓ
yuj'za
he will be recompensed
إِلَّا
illa
but
مِثۡلَهَاۖ
mith'laha
(the) like thereof
وَمَنۡ
waman
and whoever
عَمِلَ
amila
does
صَٰلِحٗا
salihan
righteous (deeds)
مِّن
min
of
ذَكَرٍ
dhakarin
male
أَوۡ
aw
or
أُنثَىٰ
untha
female
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
مُؤۡمِنٞ
mu'minun
(is) a believer
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
يَدۡخُلُونَ
yadkhuluna
will enter
ٱلۡجَنَّةَ
al-janata
Paradise
يُرۡزَقُونَ
yur'zaquna
they will be given provision
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
بِغَيۡرِ
bighayri
without
حِسَابٖ
hisabin
account
