لَأَمَّارَةُۢ
la-ammaratun
(is) a certain enjoiner
بِٱلسُّوٓءِ
bil-sui
of evil
إِلَّا
illa
unless
مَا
ma
[that]
رَحِمَ
rahima
bestows Mercy
رَبِّيٓۚ
rabbi
my Lord
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّي
rabbi
my Lord
غَفُورٞ
ghafurun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
rahimun
Most Merciful
٥٣
12:54
وَقَالَ
waqala
And said
ٱلۡمَلِكُ
al-maliku
the king
ٱئۡتُونِي
i'tuni
Bring him to me
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
Bring him to me
أَسۡتَخۡلِصۡهُ
astakhlis'hu
I will select him
لِنَفۡسِيۖ
linafsi
for myself
فَلَمَّا
falamma
Then when
كَلَّمَهُۥ
kallamahu
he spoke to him
قَالَ
qala
he said
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
al-yawma
(are) today
لَدَيۡنَا
ladayna
with us
مَكِينٌ
makinun
firmly established
أَمِينٞ
aminun
(and) trusted
٥٤
12:55
قَالَ
qala
He said
ٱجۡعَلۡنِي
ij'alni
Appoint me
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
خَزَآئِنِ
khazaini
(the) treasuries
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
al-ardi
(of) the land
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed I
حَفِيظٌ
hafizun
(will be) a guardian
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
knowing
٥٥
12:56
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhalika
And thus
مَكَّنَّا
makkanna
We established
لِيُوسُفَ
liyusufa
[to] Yusuf
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the land
يَتَبَوَّأُ
yatabawwa-u
to settle
مِنۡهَا
min'ha
therein
حَيۡثُ
haythu
where ever
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
he willed
نُصِيبُ
nusibu
We bestow
بِرَحۡمَتِنَا
birahmatina
Our Mercy
مَن
man
(on) whom
نَّشَآءُۖ
nashau
We will
وَلَا
wala
And not
نُضِيعُ
nudi'u
We let go waste
أَجۡرَ
ajra
(the) reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
al-muh'sinina
(of) the good-doers
٥٦
12:57
وَلَأَجۡرُ
wala-ajru
And surely (the) reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
al-akhirati
(of) the Hereafter
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(is) better
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhina
for those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
and are
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaquna
God conscious
٥٧
12:58
وَجَآءَ
wajaa
And came
إِخۡوَةُ
ikh'watu
(the) brothers
يُوسُفَ
yusufa
(of) Yusuf
فَدَخَلُواْ
fadakhalu
and they entered
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
upon him
فَعَرَفَهُمۡ
fa'arafahum
and he recognized them
وَهُمۡ
wahum
but they
لَهُۥ
lahu
knew him not
مُنكِرُونَ
munkiruna
knew him not
٥٨
12:59
وَلَمَّا
walamma
And when
جَهَّزَهُم
jahhazahum
he had furnished them
بِجَهَازِهِمۡ
bijahazihim
with their supplies
قَالَ
qala
he said
ٱئۡتُونِي
i'tuni
Bring to me
بِأَخٖ
bi-akhin
a brother
لَّكُم
lakum
of yours
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَبِيكُمۡۚ
abikum
your father
أَلَا
ala
Do not
تَرَوۡنَ
tarawna
you see
أَنِّيٓ
anni
that I
أُوفِي
ufi
[I] give full
ٱلۡكَيۡلَ
al-kayla
[the] measure
وَأَنَا۠
wa-ana
and that I am
خَيۡرُ
khayru
(the) best
ٱلۡمُنزِلِينَ
al-munzilina
(of) the hosts
٥٩
12:60
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَأۡتُونِي
tatuni
you bring him to me
بِهِۦ
bihi
you bring him to me
فَلَا
fala
then (there will be) no
كَيۡلَ
kayla
measure
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عِندِي
indi
from me
وَلَا
wala
and not
تَقۡرَبُونِ
taqrabuni
you will come near me
٦٠
12:61
قَالُواْ
qalu
They said
سَنُرَٰوِدُ
sanurawidu
We will try to get permission
عَنۡهُ
anhu
for him
أَبَاهُ
abahu
(from) his father
وَإِنَّا
wa-inna
and indeed we
لَفَٰعِلُونَ
lafa'iluna
surely will do
٦١
12:62
وَقَالَ
waqala
And he said
لِفِتۡيَٰنِهِ
lifit'yanihi
to his servants
ٱجۡعَلُواْ
ij'alu
Put
بِضَٰعَتَهُمۡ
bida'atahum
their merchandise
فِي
fi
in
رِحَالِهِمۡ
rihalihim
their saddlebags
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
la'allahum
so that they
يَعۡرِفُونَهَآ
ya'rifunaha
may recognize it
إِذَا
idha
when
ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ
inqalabu
they go back
إِلَىٰٓ
ila
to
أَهۡلِهِمۡ
ahlihim
their people
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
la'allahum
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
yarji'una
return
٦٢
12:63
فَلَمَّا
falamma
So when
رَجَعُوٓاْ
raja'u
they returned
إِلَىٰٓ
ila
to
أَبِيهِمۡ
abihim
their father
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
يَٰٓأَبَانَا
yaabana
O our father
مُنِعَ
muni'a
Has been denied
مِنَّا
minna
to us
ٱلۡكَيۡلُ
al-kaylu
the measure
فَأَرۡسِلۡ
fa-arsil
so send
مَعَنَآ
ma'ana
with us
أَخَانَا
akhana
our brother
نَكۡتَلۡ
naktal
(that) we will get measure
وَإِنَّا
wa-inna
And indeed we
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
لَحَٰفِظُونَ
lahafizuna
(will) surely (be) guardians
٦٣
