Wa-maaa
And not
أُبَرِّئُ
ʹubarriʻu
I absolve
نَفۡسِيٓۚ
nafsee:
myself
إِنَّ
ʹinnan
Indeed
ٱلنَّفۡسَ
nafsa
the soul
لَأَمَّارَةُۢ
laʹammaaratum
(is) a certain enjoiner
بِٱلسُّوٓءِ
bissoooʹi
of evil
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
unless
مَا
maa-
[that]
رَحِمَ
raḥima
bestows Mercy
رَبِّيٓۚ
Rabbee:
my Lord
إِنَّ
ʹinna
Indeed
رَبِّي
Rabbee
my Lord
غَفُورٞ
G̣afoorur
(is) Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٞ
Raḥeem.
Most Merciful
٥٣
12:54
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلۡمَلِكُ
malikuʹ
the king
ٱئۡتُونِي
toonee
Bring him to me
بِهِۦٓ
biheee
Bring him to me
أَسۡتَخۡلِصۡهُ
ʹastakhliṣhu
I will select him
لِنَفۡسِيۖ
linafsee.
for myself
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
كَلَّمَهُۥ
kallamahoo
he spoke to him
قَالَ
q̣aala
he said
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnakal
Indeed you
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
yawma
(are) today
لَدَيۡنَا
ladaynaa
with us
مَكِينٌ
makeenun
firmly established
أَمِينٞ
ʹameen!
(and) trusted
٥٤
12:55
قَالَ
Q̣aalaj
He said
ٱجۡعَلۡنِي
ʻalnee
Appoint me
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
خَزَآئِنِ
khazaaaʹinil
(the) treasuries
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
ʹarḍ:
(of) the land
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I
حَفِيظٌ
ḥafeez̤̣un
(will be) a guardian
عَلِيمٞ
ʻaleem.
knowing
٥٥
12:56
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
Wa-kaẓaalika
And thus
مَكَّنَّا
makkannaa
We established
لِيُوسُفَ
li-Yoosufa
[to] Yusuf
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍi
the land
يَتَبَوَّأُ
yatabawwaʹu
to settle
مِنۡهَا
minhaa
therein
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
where ever
يَشَآءُۚ
yashaaaʹ.
he willed
نُصِيبُ
Nuṣeebu
We bestow
بِرَحۡمَتِنَا
bi-Raḥmatinaa
Our Mercy
مَن
man
(on) whom
نَّشَآءُۖ
nashaaaʹu
We will
وَلَا
wa-laa
And not
نُضِيعُ
nuḍeeʻu
We let go waste
أَجۡرَ
ʹajral
(the) reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
(of) the good-doers
٥٦
12:57
وَلَأَجۡرُ
Wa-laʹajrul
And surely (the) reward
ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
ʹAakhirati
(of) the Hereafter
خَيۡرٞ
khayrul
(is) better
لِّلَّذِينَ
lillaẓeena
for those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَكَانُواْ
wa-kaanoo
and are
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaq̣oon.
God conscious

12:58
وَجَآءَ
Wa-jaaaʹa
And came
إِخۡوَةُ
ʹikhwatu
(the) brothers
يُوسُفَ
Yoosufa
(of) Yusuf
فَدَخَلُواْ
fadakhaloo
and they entered
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
upon him
فَعَرَفَهُمۡ
faʻarafahum
and he recognized them
وَهُمۡ
wa-hum
but they
لَهُۥ
lahoo
knew him not
مُنكِرُونَ
muñkiroon.
knew him not
٥٨
12:59
وَلَمَّا
Wa-lammaa
And when
جَهَّزَهُم
jahhazahum̃
he had furnished them
بِجَهَازِهِمۡ
bijahaazihim
with their supplies
قَالَ
q̣aalaʹ
he said
ٱئۡتُونِي
toonee
Bring to me
بِأَخٖ
biʹakhil
a brother
لَّكُم
lakum
of yours
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَبِيكُمۡۚ
ʹabeekum:
your father
أَلَا
ʹalaa
Do not
تَرَوۡنَ
tarawna
you see
أَنِّيٓ
ʹanneee
that I
أُوفِي
ʹoofil
[I] give full
ٱلۡكَيۡلَ
kayla
[the] measure
وَأَنَا۠
wa-ʹana
and that I am
خَيۡرُ
khayrul
(the) best
ٱلۡمُنزِلِينَ
muñzileen?
(of) the hosts
٥٩
12:60
فَإِن
Faʹil
But if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَأۡتُونِي
taʹtoonee
you bring him to me
بِهِۦ
bihee
you bring him to me
فَلَا
falaa
then (there will be) no
كَيۡلَ
kayla
measure
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عِندِي
ʻiñdee
from me
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
تَقۡرَبُونِ
taq̣raboon.
you will come near me
٦٠
12:61
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
سَنُرَٰوِدُ
sanuraawidu
We will try to get permission
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
for him
أَبَاهُ
ʹabaahu
(from) his father
وَإِنَّا
wa-ʹinnaa
and indeed we
لَفَٰعِلُونَ
lafaaʻiloon.
surely will do
٦١
12:62
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aala
And he said
لِفِتۡيَٰنِهِ
lifityaanihij
to his servants
ٱجۡعَلُواْ
ʻaloo
Put
بِضَٰعَتَهُمۡ
biḍaaʻatahum
their merchandise
فِي
fee
in
رِحَالِهِمۡ
riḥaalihim
their saddlebags
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they
يَعۡرِفُونَهَآ
yaʻrifoonahaaa
may recognize it
إِذَا
ʹiẓañ
when
ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ
q̣alabooo
they go back
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَهۡلِهِمۡ
ʹahlihim
their people
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
so that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
yarjiʻoon.
return
٦٢
12:63
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
رَجَعُوٓاْ
rajaʻooo
they returned
إِلَىٰٓ
ʹilaaa
to
أَبِيهِمۡ
ʹabeehim
their father
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
يَٰٓأَبَانَا
yaaaʹabaanaa
O our father
مُنِعَ
muniʻa
Has been denied
مِنَّا
minnal
to us
ٱلۡكَيۡلُ
kaylu
the measure
فَأَرۡسِلۡ
faʹarsil
so send
مَعَنَآ
maʻanaaa
with us
أَخَانَا
ʹakhaanaa
our brother
نَكۡتَلۡ
naktal
(that) we will get measure
وَإِنَّا
wa-ʹinnaa
And indeed we
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
لَحَٰفِظُونَ
laḥaafiz̤̣oon.
(will) surely (be) guardians
٦٣
