فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
So when
سَمِعَتۡ
samiʻat
she heard
بِمَكۡرِهِنَّ
bimakrihinna
of their scheming
أَرۡسَلَتۡ
ʹarsalat
she sent
إِلَيۡهِنَّ
ʹilayhinna
for them
وَأَعۡتَدَتۡ
wa-ʹaʻtadat
and she prepared
لَهُنَّ
lahunna
for them
مُتَّكَـٔٗا
muttakaʹañw
a banquet
وَءَاتَتۡ
waʹaatat
and she gave
كُلَّ
kulla
each
وَٰحِدَةٖ
waaḥidatim
one
مِّنۡهُنَّ
min-hunna
of them
سِكِّينٗا
sikkeenañw
a knife
وَقَالَتِ
waq̣aalatikh
and she said
ٱخۡرُجۡ
ruj
Come out
عَلَيۡهِنَّۖ
ʻalayhinn.
before them
فَلَمَّا
Falammaa
Then when
رَأَيۡنَهُۥٓ
raʹaynahooo
they saw him
أَكۡبَرۡنَهُۥ
ʹakbarnahoo
they greatly admired him
وَقَطَّعۡنَ
wa-q̣aṭṭaʻna
and cut
أَيۡدِيَهُنَّ
ʹaydiyahunna
their hands
وَقُلۡنَ
wa-q̣ulna
they said
حَٰشَ
ḥaasha
Forbid
لِلَّهِ
lillaahi
Allah
مَا
maa-
not
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
(is) this
بَشَرًا
basharaa!
a man
إِنۡ
ʹIn
not
هَٰذَآ
haaẓaaa
(is) this
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
مَلَكٞ
malakuñ
an angel
كَرِيمٞ
kareem!
noble
٣١
12:32
قَالَتۡ
Q̣aalat
She said
فَذَٰلِكُنَّ
faẓaalikunnal
That
ٱلَّذِي
laẓee
(is) the one
لُمۡتُنَّنِي
lumtunnanee
you blamed me
فِيهِۖ
feeh!
about him
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
رَٰوَدتُّهُۥ
raawattuhoo
I sought to seduce him
عَن
ʻan
[from]
نَّفۡسِهِۦ
nafsihee
[himself]
فَٱسۡتَعۡصَمَۖ
fastaʻṣam!
but he saved himself
وَلَئِن
Wa-laʹil
and if
لَّمۡ
lam
not
يَفۡعَلۡ
yafʻal
he does
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَامُرُهُۥ
ʹaamuruhoo
I order him
لَيُسۡجَنَنَّ
layusjananna
surely he will be imprisoned
وَلَيَكُونٗا
wa-layakoonam
and certainly will be
مِّنَ
minaṣ
of
ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ
ṣaag̣ireen!
those who are disgraced
٣٢
12:33
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbis
My Lord
ٱلسِّجۡنُ
sijnu
the prison
أَحَبُّ
ʹaḥabbu
(is) dearer
إِلَيَّ
ʹilayya
to me
مِمَّا
mimmaa
than what
يَدۡعُونَنِيٓ
yadʻoonaneee
they invite me
إِلَيۡهِۖ
ʹilayh:
to it
وَإِلَّا
wa-ʹillaa
And unless
تَصۡرِفۡ
taṣrif
You turn away
عَنِّي
ʻannee
from me
كَيۡدَهُنَّ
kaydahunna
their plot
أَصۡبُ
ʹaṣbu
I might incline
إِلَيۡهِنَّ
ʹilayhinna
towards them
وَأَكُن
wa-ʹakum
and [I] be
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ
jaahileen.
the ignorant
٣٣
12:34
فَٱسۡتَجَابَ
Fastajaaba
So responded
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
رَبُّهُۥ
Rabbuhoo
his Lord
فَصَرَفَ
faṣarafa
and turned away
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from him
كَيۡدَهُنَّۚ
kaydahunn:
their plot
إِنَّهُۥ
ʹinnahoo
Indeed [He]
هُوَ
Huwas
He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
Sameeʻul
(is) All-Hearer
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
ʻAleem.
All-Knower
٣٤
12:35
ثُمَّ
S̤umma
Then
بَدَا
badaa
(it) appeared
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مِّنۢ
mim
after
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَا
maa-
[what]
رَأَوُاْ
raʹawul
they had seen
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹAayaati
the signs
لَيَسۡجُنُنَّهُۥ
layasjununnahoo
surely they should imprison him
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
حِينٖ
ḥeen.
a time
٣٥
12:36
وَدَخَلَ
Wa-dakhala
And entered
مَعَهُ
maʻa
with him
ٱلسِّجۡنَ
hussijna
(in) the prison
فَتَيَانِۖ
fatayaan.
two young men
قَالَ
Q̣aala
Said
أَحَدُهُمَآ
ʹaḥaduhumaaa
one of them
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَرَىٰنِيٓ
ʹaraaneee
[I] see myself
أَعۡصِرُ
ʹaʻṣiru
pressing
خَمۡرٗاۖ
khamraa.
wine
وَقَالَ
Wa-q̣aalal
And said
ٱلۡأٓخَرُ
ʹaakharu
the other
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَرَىٰنِيٓ
ʹaraaneee
[I] see myself
أَحۡمِلُ
ʹaḥmilu
[I am] carrying
فَوۡقَ
fawq̣a
over
رَأۡسِي
raʹsee
my head
خُبۡزٗا
khubzañ
bread
تَأۡكُلُ
taʹkuluṭ
(were) eating
ٱلطَّيۡرُ
ṭayru
the birds
مِنۡهُۖ
minh.
from it
نَبِّئۡنَا
Nabbiʹnaa
Inform us
بِتَأۡوِيلِهِۦٓۖ
bitaʹweelih:
of its interpretation
إِنَّا
ʹinnaa
indeed we
نَرَىٰكَ
naraaka
[we] see you
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
Muḥsineen.
the good-doers
٣٦
12:37
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
لَا
laa-
Not
يَأۡتِيكُمَا
yaʹteekumaa
(will) come to both of you
طَعَامٞ
ṭaʻaamuñ
food
تُرۡزَقَانِهِۦٓ
turzaq̣aaniheee
you are provided with
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
but
نَبَّأۡتُكُمَا
nabbaʹtukumaa
I will inform both of you
بِتَأۡوِيلِهِۦ
bitaʹweelihee
of its interpretation
قَبۡلَ
q̣abla
before
أَن
ʹañy
[that]
يَأۡتِيَكُمَاۚ
yaʹtiyakumaa:
[it] comes to both of you
ذَٰلِكُمَا
ẓaalikumaa
That
مِمَّا
mimmaa
(is) of what
عَلَّمَنِي
ʻallamanee
has taught me
رَبِّيٓۚ
Rabbee.
my Lord
إِنِّي
ʹInnee
Indeed I
تَرَكۡتُ
taraktu
[I] abandon
مِلَّةَ
millata
(the) religion
قَوۡمٖ
q̣awmil
(of) a people
لَّا
laa
not
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yuʹminoona
they believe
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَهُم
wa-hum̃
and they
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-ʹAakhirati
in the Hereafter
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
كَٰفِرُونَ
kaafiroon.
(are) disbelievers
٣٧
