54:1ٱقۡتَرَبَتِiq'tarabatiHas come nearٱلسَّاعَةُal-sa'atuthe Hourوَٱنشَقَّwa-inshaqqaand has splitٱلۡقَمَرُal-qamaruthe moon١
54:2وَإِنwa-inAnd ifيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeءَايَةٗayatana Signيُعۡرِضُواْyu'riduthey turn awayوَيَقُولُواْwayaquluand sayسِحۡرٞsih'runMagicمُّسۡتَمِرّٞmus'tamirruncontinuing٢
54:3وَكَذَّبُواْwakadhabuAnd they deniedوَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْwa-ittaba'uand followedأَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚahwaahumtheir desiresوَكُلُّwakullubut (for) everyأَمۡرٖamrinmatterمُّسۡتَقِرّٞmus'taqirrun(will be a) settlement٣
54:4وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَهُمjaahumhas come to themمِّنَminaofٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِal-anbaithe informationمَاmawhereinفِيهِfihiwhereinمُزۡدَجَرٌmuz'dajarun(is) deterrence٤
54:5حِكۡمَةُۢhik'matunWisdomبَٰلِغَةٞۖbalighatunperfectفَمَاfamabut notتُغۡنِtugh'niwill availٱلنُّذُرُal-nudhuruthe warnings٥
54:6فَتَوَلَّfatawallaSo turn awayعَنۡهُمۡۘanhumfrom themيَوۡمَyawma(The) Dayيَدۡعُyad'uwill callٱلدَّاعِal-da'ithe callerإِلَىٰilatoشَيۡءٖshayina thingنُّكُرٍnukurinterrible٦
54:7خُشَّعًاkhusha'an(Will be) humbledأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡabsaruhumtheir eyesيَخۡرُجُونَyakhrujunathey will come forthمِنَminafromٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِal-ajdathithe gravesكَأَنَّهُمۡka-annahumas if they (were)جَرَادٞjaradunlocustsمُّنتَشِرٞmuntashirunspreading٧
54:8مُّهۡطِعِينَmuh'ti'inaRacing aheadإِلَىilatowardsٱلدَّاعِۖal-da'ithe callerيَقُولُyaquluWill sayٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَal-kafirunathe disbelieversهَٰذَاhadhaThisيَوۡمٌyawmun(is) a Dayعَسِرٞasirundifficult٨
54:9۞كَذَّبَتۡkadhabatDeniedقَبۡلَهُمۡqablahumbefore themقَوۡمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٖnuhin(of) Nuhفَكَذَّبُواْfakadhabuand they deniedعَبۡدَنَاabdanaOur slaveوَقَالُواْwaqaluand saidمَجۡنُونٞmajnununA madmanوَٱزۡدُجِرَwa-uz'dujiraand he was repelled٩
54:10فَدَعَاfada'aSo he calledرَبَّهُۥٓrabbahuhis LordأَنِّيanniI amمَغۡلُوبٞmaghlubunone overpoweredفَٱنتَصِرۡfa-intasirso help١٠
54:11فَفَتَحۡنَآfafatahnaSo We openedأَبۡوَٰبَabwaba(the) gatesٱلسَّمَآءِal-samai(of) heavenبِمَآءٖbimainwith waterمُّنۡهَمِرٖmun'hamirinpouring down١١
54:12وَفَجَّرۡنَاwafajjarnaAnd We caused to burstٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe earthعُيُونٗاuyunan(with) springsفَٱلۡتَقَىfal-taqaso metٱلۡمَآءُal-mauthe water(s)عَلَىٰٓalaforأَمۡرٖamrina matterقَدۡqadalreadyقُدِرَqudirapredestined١٢
54:13وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُwahamalnahuAnd We carried himعَلَىٰalaonذَاتِdhati(ark) made of planksأَلۡوَٰحٖalwahin(ark) made of planksوَدُسُرٖwadusurinand nails١٣
54:14تَجۡرِيtajriSailingبِأَعۡيُنِنَاbi-a'yuninabefore Our eyesجَزَآءٗjazaana rewardلِّمَنlimanfor (he) whoكَانَkanawasكُفِرَkufiradenied١٤
54:15وَلَقَدwalaqadAnd certainlyتَّرَكۡنَٰهَآtaraknahaWe left itءَايَةٗayatan(as) a Signفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنminanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakirinwho will receive admonition١٥
54:17وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnaWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَal-qur'anathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِlildhik'rifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنminanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakirinwho will receive admonition١٧
54:18كَذَّبَتۡkadhabatDeniedعَادٞadunAadفَكَيۡفَfakayfaso howكَانَkanawasعَذَابِيadhabiMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwanudhuriand My warnings١٨
54:19إِنَّآinnaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalna[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡalayhimupon themرِيحٗاrihana windصَرۡصَرٗاsarsaranfuriousفِيfionيَوۡمِyawmia dayنَحۡسٖnahsin(of) misfortuneمُّسۡتَمِرّٖmus'tamirrincontinuous١٩
54:20تَنزِعُtanzi'uPlucking outٱلنَّاسَal-nasamenكَأَنَّهُمۡka-annahumas if they (were)أَعۡجَازُa'jazutrunksنَخۡلٖnakhlin(of) date-palmsمُّنقَعِرٖmunqa'irinuprooted٢٠
54:22وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnaWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَal-qur'anathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِlildhik'rifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنminanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakirinwho will receive admonition٢٢
54:24فَقَالُوٓاْfaqaluAnd saidأَبَشَرٗاabasharanIs (it) a human beingمِّنَّاminnaamong usوَٰحِدٗاwahidanoneنَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓnattabi'uhu(that) we should follow himإِنَّآinnaIndeed weإِذٗاidhanthenلَّفِيlafi(will be) surely inضَلَٰلٖdalalinerrorوَسُعُرٍwasu'urinand madness٢٤
54:25أَءُلۡقِيَa-ul'qiyaHas been sentٱلذِّكۡرُal-dhik'ruthe Reminderعَلَيۡهِalayhito himمِنۢminfromبَيۡنِنَاbayninaamong usبَلۡbalNayهُوَhuwaheكَذَّابٌkadhabun(is) a liarأَشِرٞashiruninsolent٢٥
54:26سَيَعۡلَمُونَsaya'lamunaThey will knowغَدٗاghadantomorrowمَّنِmaniwhoٱلۡكَذَّابُal-kadhabu(is) the liarٱلۡأَشِرُal-ashiruthe insolent one٢٦
54:27إِنَّاinnaIndeed Weمُرۡسِلُواْmur'silu(are) sendingٱلنَّاقَةِal-naqatithe she-camelفِتۡنَةٗfit'natan(as) a trialلَّهُمۡlahumfor themفَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡfa-ir'taqib'humso watch themوَٱصۡطَبِرۡwa-is'tabirand be patient٢٧
54:28وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡwanabbi'humAnd inform themأَنَّannathatٱلۡمَآءَal-maathe waterقِسۡمَةُۢqis'matun(is) to be sharedبَيۡنَهُمۡۖbaynahumbetween themكُلُّkullueachشِرۡبٖshir'bindrinkمُّحۡتَضَرٞmuh'tadarunattended٢٨
54:29فَنَادَوۡاْfanadawBut they calledصَاحِبَهُمۡsahibahumtheir companionفَتَعَاطَىٰfata'ataand he tookفَعَقَرَfa'aqaraand hamstrung٢٩
54:31إِنَّآinnaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalna[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡalayhimupon themصَيۡحَةٗsayhatanthunderous blastوَٰحِدَةٗwahidatansingleفَكَانُواْfakanuand they becameكَهَشِيمِkahashimilike dry twig fragmentsٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِal-muh'taziri(used by) a fence builder٣١
54:32وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnaWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَal-qur'anathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِlildhik'rifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنminanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakirinwho will receive admonition٣٢
54:33كَذَّبَتۡkadhabatDeniedقَوۡمُqawmu(the) peopleلُوطِۭlutin(of) Lutبِٱلنُّذُرِbil-nudhurithe warnings٣٣
54:34إِنَّآinnaIndeed Weأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalna[We] sentعَلَيۡهِمۡalayhimupon themحَاصِبًاhasibana storm of stonesإِلَّآillaexceptءَالَala(the) familyلُوطٖۖlutin(of) LutنَّجَّيۡنَٰهُمnajjaynahumWe saved themبِسَحَرٖbisaharinby dawn٣٤
54:35نِّعۡمَةٗni'matan(As) a favorمِّنۡminfromعِندِنَاۚindinaUsكَذَٰلِكَkadhalikaThusنَجۡزِيnajziWe rewardمَنman(one) whoشَكَرَshakara(is) grateful٣٥
54:36وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyأَنذَرَهُمandharahumhe warned themبَطۡشَتَنَاbatshatana(of) Our seizureفَتَمَارَوۡاْfatamarawbut they disputedبِٱلنُّذُرِbil-nudhurithe warnings٣٦
54:37وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyرَٰوَدُوهُrawaduhuthey demanded from himعَنanthey demanded from himضَيۡفِهِۦdayfihihis guestsفَطَمَسۡنَآfatamasnaso We blindedأَعۡيُنَهُمۡa'yunahumtheir eyesفَذُوقُواْfadhuquSo tasteعَذَابِيadhabiMy punishmentوَنُذُرِwanudhuriand My warnings٣٧
54:38وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyصَبَّحَهُمsabbahahumseized them in the morningبُكۡرَةًbuk'ratanearlyعَذَابٞadhabuna punishmentمُّسۡتَقِرّٞmus'taqirrunabiding٣٨
54:40وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyيَسَّرۡنَاyassarnaWe have made easyٱلۡقُرۡءَانَal-qur'anathe Quranلِلذِّكۡرِlildhik'rifor remembranceفَهَلۡfahalso is (there)مِنminanyمُّدَّكِرٖmuddakirinwho will receive admonition٤٠
54:41وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyجَآءَjaacameءَالَala(to the) peopleفِرۡعَوۡنَfir'awna(of) Firaunٱلنُّذُرُal-nudhuruwarnings٤١
54:42كَذَّبُواْkadhabuThey deniedبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiayatinaOur Signsكُلِّهَاkullihaall of themفَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡfa-akhadhnahumso We seized themأَخۡذَakhdha(with) a seizureعَزِيزٖazizin(of) All-Mightyمُّقۡتَدِرٍmuq'tadirin(the) Powerful One٤٢
54:43أَكُفَّارُكُمۡakuffarukumAre your disbelieversخَيۡرٞkhayrunbetterمِّنۡminthanأُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡulaikumthoseأَمۡamorلَكُمlakumfor youبَرَآءَةٞbaraatun(is) an exemptionفِيfiinٱلزُّبُرِal-zuburithe Scriptures٤٣
54:44أَمۡamOrيَقُولُونَyaquluna(do) they sayنَحۡنُnahnuWeجَمِيعٞjami'un(are) an assemblyمُّنتَصِرٞmuntasirunhelping (each other)٤٤
54:45سَيُهۡزَمُsayuh'zamuSoon will be defeatedٱلۡجَمۡعُal-jam'u(their) assemblyوَيُوَلُّونَwayuwallunaand they will turnٱلدُّبُرَal-dubura(their) backs٤٥
54:46بَلِbaliNayٱلسَّاعَةُal-sa'atuthe Hourمَوۡعِدُهُمۡmaw'iduhum(is) their promised timeوَٱلسَّاعَةُwal-sa'atuand the Hourأَدۡهَىٰadha(will be) more grievousوَأَمَرُّwa-amarruand more bitter٤٦
54:47إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَal-muj'riminathe criminalsفِيfi(are) inضَلَٰلٖdalalinan errorوَسُعُرٖwasu'urinand madness٤٧
54:48يَوۡمَyawma(The) Dayيُسۡحَبُونَyus'habunathey will be draggedفِيfiintoٱلنَّارِal-narithe Fireعَلَىٰalaonوُجُوهِهِمۡwujuhihimtheir facesذُوقُواْdhuquTasteمَسَّmassa(the) touchسَقَرَsaqara(of) Hell٤٨
54:49إِنَّاinnaIndeed [We]كُلَّkullaeveryشَيۡءٍshayinthingخَلَقۡنَٰهُkhalaqnahuWe created itبِقَدَرٖbiqadarinby a measure٤٩
54:50وَمَآwamaAnd notأَمۡرُنَآamruna(is) Our Commandإِلَّاillabutوَٰحِدَةٞwahidatunoneكَلَمۡحِۭkalamhinlike the twinklingبِٱلۡبَصَرِbil-basari(of) the eye٥٠
