43:3إِنَّاinnaIndeed Weجَعَلۡنَٰهُja'alnahu(have) made itقُرۡءَٰنًاqur'anana Quranعَرَبِيّٗاarabiyyan(in) Arabicلَّعَلَّكُمۡla'allakumso that you mayتَعۡقِلُونَta'qilunaunderstand٣
43:4وَإِنَّهُۥwa-innahuAnd indeed itفِيٓfi(is) inأُمِّummi(the) Motherٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabi(of) the Bookلَدَيۡنَاladaynawith Usلَعَلِيٌّla'aliyyunsurely exaltedحَكِيمٌhakimunfull of wisdom٤
43:5أَفَنَضۡرِبُafanadribuThen should We take awayعَنكُمُankumufrom youٱلذِّكۡرَal-dhik'rathe Reminderصَفۡحًاsafhandisregarding (you)أَنanbecauseكُنتُمۡkuntumyou areقَوۡمٗاqawmana peopleمُّسۡرِفِينَmus'rifinatransgressing٥
43:6وَكَمۡwakamAnd how manyأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe sentمِنminofنَّبِيّٖnabiyyina Prophetفِيfiamongٱلۡأَوَّلِينَal-awalinathe former (people)٦
43:7وَمَاwamaAnd notيَأۡتِيهِمyatihimcame to themمِّنminany Prophetنَّبِيٍّnabiyyinany Prophetإِلَّاillabutكَانُواْkanuthey used toبِهِۦbihimock at himيَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziunamock at him٧
43:8فَأَهۡلَكۡنَآfa-ahlaknaThen We destroyedأَشَدَّashaddastrongerمِنۡهُمmin'humthan themبَطۡشٗاbatshan(in) powerوَمَضَىٰwamadaand has passedمَثَلُmathalu(the) exampleٱلۡأَوَّلِينَal-awalina(of) the former (people)٨
43:9وَلَئِنwala-inAnd ifسَأَلۡتَهُمsa-altahumyou ask themمَّنۡmanWhoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqulunnaThey will surely sayخَلَقَهُنَّkhalaqahunnaCreated themٱلۡعَزِيزُal-'azizuthe All-Mightyٱلۡعَلِيمُal-'alimuthe All-Knower٩
43:10ٱلَّذِيalladhiThe One Whoجَعَلَja'alamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe earthمَهۡدٗاmahdana bedوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand madeلَكُمۡlakumfor youفِيهَاfihathereinسُبُلٗاsubulanroadsلَّعَلَّكُمۡla'allakumso that you mayتَهۡتَدُونَtahtaduna(be) guided١٠
43:11وَٱلَّذِيwa-alladhiAnd the One Whoنَزَّلَnazzalasends downمِنَminafromٱلسَّمَآءِal-samaithe skyمَآءَۢmaanwaterبِقَدَرٖbiqadarinin (due) measureفَأَنشَرۡنَاfa-ansharnathen We reviveبِهِۦbihiwith itبَلۡدَةٗbaldatana landمَّيۡتٗاۚmaytandeadكَذَٰلِكَkadhalikathusتُخۡرَجُونَtukh'rajunayou will be brought forth١١
43:12وَٱلَّذِيwa-alladhiAnd the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَal-azwajathe pairsكُلَّهَاkullahaall of themوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand madeلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَmina[of]ٱلۡفُلۡكِal-ful'kithe shipsوَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِwal-an'amiand the cattleمَاmawhatتَرۡكَبُونَtarkabunayou ride١٢
43:13لِتَسۡتَوُۥاْlitastawuThat you may sit firmlyعَلَىٰalaonظُهُورِهِۦzuhurihitheir backsثُمَّthummathenتَذۡكُرُواْtadhkururememberنِعۡمَةَni'mata(the) favorرَبِّكُمۡrabbikum(of) your Lordإِذَاidhawhenٱسۡتَوَيۡتُمۡis'tawaytumyou sit firmlyعَلَيۡهِalayhion themوَتَقُولُواْwataquluand sayسُبۡحَٰنَsub'hanaGlory be (to)ٱلَّذِيalladhithe One Whoسَخَّرَsakhara(has) subjectedلَنَاlanato usهَٰذَاhadhathisوَمَاwamaand notكُنَّاkunnawe wereلَهُۥlahuof itمُقۡرِنِينَmuq'rininacapable١٣
43:14وَإِنَّآwa-innaAnd indeed weإِلَىٰilatoرَبِّنَاrabbinaour Lordلَمُنقَلِبُونَlamunqalibunawill surely return١٤
43:15وَجَعَلُواْwaja'aluBut they attributeلَهُۥlahuto HimمِنۡminfromعِبَادِهِۦibadihiHis slavesجُزۡءًاۚjuz'ana portionإِنَّinnaIndeedٱلۡإِنسَٰنَal-insanamanلَكَفُورٞlakafurunsurely (is) clearly ungratefulمُّبِينٌmubinunsurely (is) clearly ungrateful١٥
43:16أَمِamiOrٱتَّخَذَittakhadhahas He takenمِمَّاmimmaof whatيَخۡلُقُyakhluquHe has createdبَنَاتٖbanatindaughtersوَأَصۡفَىٰكُمwa-asfakumand He has chosen (for) youبِٱلۡبَنِينَbil-baninasons١٦
43:17وَإِذَاwa-idhaAnd whenبُشِّرَbushirais given good newsأَحَدُهُمahaduhum(to) one of themبِمَاbimaof whatضَرَبَdarabahe sets upلِلرَّحۡمَٰنِlilrrahmanifor the Most Graciousمَثَلٗاmathalan(as) a likenessظَلَّzallabecomesوَجۡهُهُۥwajhuhuhis faceمُسۡوَدّٗاmus'waddandarkوَهُوَwahuwaand heكَظِيمٌkazimun(is) filled with grief١٧
43:18أَوَمَنawamanThen (is one) whoيُنَشَّؤُاْyunasha-uis brought upفِيfiinٱلۡحِلۡيَةِal-hil'yatiornamentsوَهُوَwahuwaand heفِيfiinٱلۡخِصَامِal-khisamithe disputeغَيۡرُghayru(is) notمُبِينٖmubininclear١٨
43:19وَجَعَلُواْwaja'aluAnd they madeٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَal-malaikatathe Angelsٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoهُمۡhumthemselvesعِبَٰدُibadu(are) slavesٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِal-rahmani(of) the Most GraciousإِنَٰثًاۚinathanfemalesأَشَهِدُواْashahiduDid they witnessخَلۡقَهُمۡۚkhalqahumtheir creationسَتُكۡتَبُsatuk'tabuWill be recordedشَهَٰدَتُهُمۡshahadatuhumtheir testimonyوَيُسۡـَٔلُونَwayus'alunaand they will be questioned١٩
43:20وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they sayلَوۡlawIfشَآءَshaahad willedٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُal-rahmanuthe Most Graciousمَاmawe would not have worshipped themعَبَدۡنَٰهُمۗabadnahumwe would not have worshipped themمَّاmaNotلَهُمlahumthey haveبِذَٰلِكَbidhalikaabout thatمِنۡminanyعِلۡمٍۖil'minknowledgeإِنۡinNothingهُمۡhumthey (do)إِلَّاillabutيَخۡرُصُونَyakhrusunalie٢٠
43:21أَمۡamOrءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡataynahumhave We given themكِتَٰبٗاkitabana bookمِّنminbefore itقَبۡلِهِۦqablihibefore itفَهُمfahumso theyبِهِۦbihito itمُسۡتَمۡسِكُونَmus'tamsikuna(are) holding fast٢١
43:22بَلۡbalNayقَالُوٓاْqaluthey sayإِنَّاinnaIndeed weوَجَدۡنَآwajadna[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاabaanaour forefathersعَلَىٰٓalauponأُمَّةٖummatina religionوَإِنَّاwa-innaand indeed weعَلَىٰٓalaonءَاثَٰرِهِمatharihimtheir footstepsمُّهۡتَدُونَmuh'taduna(are) guided٢٢
43:23وَكَذَٰلِكَwakadhalikaAnd thusمَآmanotأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe sentمِنminbefore youقَبۡلِكَqablikabefore youفِيfiinقَرۡيَةٖqaryatina townمِّنminanyنَّذِيرٍnadhirinwarnerإِلَّاillaexceptقَالَqalasaidمُتۡرَفُوهَآmut'rafuha(the) wealthy ones of itإِنَّاinnaIndeed weوَجَدۡنَآwajadna[we] foundءَابَآءَنَاabaanaour forefathersعَلَىٰٓalaonأُمَّةٖummatina religionوَإِنَّاwa-innaand indeed weعَلَىٰٓala[on]ءَاثَٰرِهِمatharihimtheir footstepsمُّقۡتَدُونَmuq'taduna(are) following٢٣
43:24۞قَٰلَqalaHe saidأَوَلَوۡawalawEven ifجِئۡتُكُمji'tukumI brought youبِأَهۡدَىٰbi-ahdabetter guidanceمِمَّاmimmathan whatوَجَدتُّمۡwajadttumyou foundعَلَيۡهِalayhion itءَابَآءَكُمۡۖabaakumyour forefathersقَالُوٓاْqaluThey saidإِنَّاinnaIndeed weبِمَآbimawith whatأُرۡسِلۡتُمur'sil'tumyou are sentبِهِۦbihiwith [it]كَٰفِرُونَkafiruna(are) disbelievers٢٤
43:25فَٱنتَقَمۡنَاfa-intaqamnaSo We took retributionمِنۡهُمۡۖmin'humfrom themفَٱنظُرۡfa-unzurThen seeكَيۡفَkayfahowكَانَkanawasعَٰقِبَةُaqibatu(the) endٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَal-mukadhibina(of) the deniers٢٥
