41:2تَنزِيلٞTañzeelumA revelationمِّنَminarfromٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِRaḥmaanirthe Most GraciousٱلرَّحِيمِRaḥeem;―the Most Merciful٢
41:3كِتَٰبٞKitaabuñA Bookفُصِّلَتۡfuṣṣilatare detailedءَايَٰتُهُۥʹAayaatuhooits VersesقُرۡءَانًاQ̣ur-ʹaanana Quranعَرَبِيّٗاʻarabiyyal(in) Arabicلِّقَوۡمٖliq̣awmiñyfor a peopleيَعۡلَمُونَyaʻlamoon;(who) know٣
41:4بَشِيرٗاBasheerañwA giver of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرٗاWa-Naẓeeraa:and a warnerفَأَعۡرَضَfaʹaʻraḍabut turn awayأَكۡثَرُهُمۡʹaks̤aruhummost of themفَهُمۡfahumso theyلَاlaa-(do) notيَسۡمَعُونَyasmaʻoon.hear٤
41:5وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they sayقُلُوبُنَاq̣uloobunaaOur heartsفِيٓfeee(are) inأَكِنَّةٖʹakinnatimcoveringsمِّمَّاmimmaafrom whatتَدۡعُونَآtadʻoonaaayou call usإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito itوَفِيٓwa-feeeand inءَاذَانِنَاʹaaẓaaninaaeour earsوَقۡرٞwaq̣ruñw(is) deafnessوَمِنۢwamimand between usبَيۡنِنَاbayninaaand between usوَبَيۡنِكَwa-baynikaand between youحِجَابٞḥijaabuñ(is) a screenفَٱعۡمَلۡfaʻmalSo workإِنَّنَاʹinnanaaindeed weعَٰمِلُونَʻaamiloon.(are) working٥
41:6قُلۡQ̣ulSayإِنَّمَآʹinnamaaaOnlyأَنَا۠ʹanaI amبَشَرٞbasharuma manمِّثۡلُكُمۡmis̤lukumlike youيُوحَىٰٓyooḥaaait is revealedإِلَيَّʹilayyato meأَنَّمَآʹannamaaathatإِلَٰهُكُمۡʹIlaahukumyour godإِلَٰهٞʹIlaahuñw(is) GodوَٰحِدٞWaaḥiduñOneفَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاْfastaq̣eemoooso take a Straight Pathإِلَيۡهِʹilayhito Himوَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُۗwastag̣firooh.and ask His forgivenessوَوَيۡلٞWa-waylulAnd woeلِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَlil-Mushrikeen,―to the polytheists٦
41:7ٱلَّذِينَʹAllaẓeenaThose whoلَاlaa-(do) notيُؤۡتُونَyuʹtoonazgiveٱلزَّكَوٰةَZakaatathe zakahوَهُمwa-hum̃and theyبِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِbil-ʹAakhiratiin the Hereafterهُمۡhumtheyكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers٧
41:8إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveوَعَمِلُواْwa-ʻamiluṣand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِṣaaliḥaatirighteous deedsلَهُمۡlahumfor themأَجۡرٌʹajrun(is) a rewardغَيۡرُg̣ayrunever endingمَمۡنُونٖmamnoon.never ending٨
41:9۞قُلۡQ̣ulSayأَئِنَّكُمۡʹaʹinnakumDo you indeedلَتَكۡفُرُونَlatakfuroona[surely] disbelieveبِٱلَّذِيbillaẓeein the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaq̣alcreatedٱلۡأَرۡضَʹarḍathe earthفِيfeeinيَوۡمَيۡنِYawmaynitwo periodsوَتَجۡعَلُونَwa-tajʻaloonaand you set upلَهُۥٓlahooowith Himأَندَادٗاۚʹañdaadaa?rivalsذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatرَبُّRabbul(is the) LordٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَʻAalameen.(of) the worlds٩
41:10وَجَعَلَWa-jaʻalaAnd He placedفِيهَاfeehaathereinرَوَٰسِيَrawaasiyafirmly-set mountainsمِنmiñabove itفَوۡقِهَاfawq̣ihaaabove itوَبَٰرَكَwa-baarakaand He blessedفِيهَاfeehaathereinوَقَدَّرَwa-q̣addaraand determinedفِيهَآfeehaaathereinأَقۡوَٰتَهَاʹaq̣waatahaaits sustenanceفِيٓfeeeinأَرۡبَعَةِarbaʻatifourأَيَّامٖʹAyyaam;periodsسَوَآءٗsawaaaʹalequalلِّلسَّآئِلِينَlissaaaʹileen.for those who ask١٠
41:11ثُمَّS̤ummasThenٱسۡتَوَىٰٓtawaaaHe directed (Himself)إِلَىʹilastowardsٱلسَّمَآءِsamaaaʹithe heavenوَهِيَwa-hiyawhile it (was)دُخَانٞdukhaanuñsmokeفَقَالَfaq̣aalaand He saidلَهَاlahaato itوَلِلۡأَرۡضِwa-lilʹarḍiʹand to the earthٱئۡتِيَاtiyaaCome both of youطَوۡعًاṭawʻanwillinglyأَوۡʹaworكَرۡهٗاkarhaa.unwillinglyقَالَتَآQ̣aalataaaThey both saidأَتَيۡنَاʹataynaaWe comeطَآئِعِينَṭaaʹiʻeen.willingly١١
41:12فَقَضَىٰهُنَّFaq̣aḍaahunnaThen He completed themسَبۡعَsabʻa(as) sevenسَمَٰوَاتٖsamaawaatiñheavensفِيfeeinيَوۡمَيۡنِYawmaynitwo periodsوَأَوۡحَىٰwa-ʹawḥaaand He revealedفِيfeeinكُلِّkullieachسَمَآءٍsamaaaʹinheavenأَمۡرَهَاۚʹamrahaa.its affairوَزَيَّنَّاWa-zayyannassaAnd We adornedٱلسَّمَآءَmaaaʹadthe heavenٱلدُّنۡيَاdunyaa[the world]بِمَصَٰبِيحَbimaṣaabeeḥawith lampsوَحِفۡظٗاۚwa-ḥifz̤̣aa.and (to) guardذَٰلِكَẒaalikaThatتَقۡدِيرُTaq̣deerul(is the) DecreeٱلۡعَزِيزِʻAzeezil(of) the All-MightyٱلۡعَلِيمِʻAleem.the All-Knower١٢
41:13فَإِنۡFaʹinBut ifأَعۡرَضُواْʹaʻraḍoothey turn awayفَقُلۡfaq̣ulthen sayأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡʹañẓartukumI have warned youصَٰعِقَةٗṢaaʻiq̣atam(of) a thunderboltمِّثۡلَmis̤lalikeصَٰعِقَةِṢaaʻiq̣ati(the) thunderboltعَادٖʻAadiñw(of) AadوَثَمُودَWa-S̤amood!and Thamud١٣
41:14إِذۡʹIẓWhenجَآءَتۡهُمُjaaaʹathumurcame to themٱلرُّسُلُrusuluthe Messengersمِنۢmimfrom before themبَيۡنِbaynifrom before themأَيۡدِيهِمۡʹaydeehimfrom before themوَمِنۡwa-minand fromخَلۡفِهِمۡkhalfihimbehind themأَلَّاʹallaa(saying) Do notتَعۡبُدُوٓاْtaʻbudoooworshipإِلَّاʹillalexceptٱللَّهَۖlaah.AllahقَالُواْQ̣aalooThey saidلَوۡlawIfشَآءَshaaaʹa(had) willedرَبُّنَاRabbunaaour Lordلَأَنزَلَlaʹañzalasurely He (would have) sent downمَلَٰٓئِكَةٗmalaaaʹikatañAngelsفَإِنَّاfaʹinnaaSo indeed weبِمَآbimaaain whatأُرۡسِلۡتُمʹursiltum̃you have been sentبِهِۦbiheewithكَٰفِرُونَkaafiroon.(are) disbelievers١٤
41:15فَأَمَّاFaʹammaaThen as forعَادٞʻAaduñAadفَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْfastakbaroothey were arrogantفِيfilinٱلۡأَرۡضِʹarḍithe landبِغَيۡرِbig̣ayrilwithoutٱلۡحَقِّḥaq̣q̣i[the] rightوَقَالُواْwa-q̣aalooand they saidمَنۡmanWhoأَشَدُّʹashaddu(is) mightierمِنَّاminnaathan usقُوَّةًۖq̣uwwah?(in) strengthأَوَلَمۡʹAwalamDo notيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeأَنَّʹannalthatٱللَّهَlaahalAllahٱلَّذِيlaẓeethe One Whoخَلَقَهُمۡkhalaq̣ahumcreated themهُوَHuwaHeأَشَدُّʹashaddu(is) Mightierمِنۡهُمۡminhumthan themقُوَّةٗۖq̣uwwah?(in) strengthوَكَانُواْWa-kaanooBut they used toبِـَٔايَٰتِنَاbiʹAayaatinaain Our Signsيَجۡحَدُونَyajḥadoon!deny١٥
41:16فَأَرۡسَلۡنَاFaʹarsalnaaSo We sentعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimupon themرِيحٗاReeḥaña windصَرۡصَرٗاṣarṣarañfuriousفِيٓfeeeinأَيَّامٖʹAyyaamin(the) daysنَّحِسَاتٖnaḥisaatil(of) misfortuneلِّنُذِيقَهُمۡlinuẓeeq̣ahumthat We may make them tasteعَذَابَʻaẓaabal(the) punishmentٱلۡخِزۡيِkhizyi(of) disgraceفِيfilinٱلۡحَيَوٰةِḥayaatidthe lifeٱلدُّنۡيَاۖdunyaa;(of) the worldوَلَعَذَابُwa-laʻAẓaabulAnd surely (the) punishmentٱلۡأٓخِرَةِʹAakhirati(of) the Hereafterأَخۡزَىٰۖʹakhzaa(is) more disgracingوَهُمۡWahumand theyلَاlaa-will not be helpedيُنصَرُونَyuñṣaroon.will not be helped١٦
41:17وَأَمَّاWa-ʹammaaAnd as forثَمُودُS̤amooduThamudفَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡfahadaynaahumWe guided themفَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْfastaḥabbulbut they preferredٱلۡعَمَىٰʻamaa[the] blindnessعَلَىʻalaloverٱلۡهُدَىٰHudaathe guidanceفَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡfaʹakhaẓathumso seized themصَٰعِقَةُṢaaʻiq̣atula thunderboltٱلۡعَذَابِʻaẓaabil(of) the punishmentٱلۡهُونِhoonihumiliatingبِمَاbimaafor whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَكۡسِبُونَyaksiboon.earn١٧
41:18وَنَجَّيۡنَاWa-najjaynalAnd We savedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelievedوَكَانُواْwa-kaanooand used toيَتَّقُونَyattaq̣oon.fear (Allah)١٨
41:19وَيَوۡمَWa-YawmaAnd (the) Dayيُحۡشَرُyuḥsharuwill be gatheredأَعۡدَآءُʹaʻdaaaʹul(the) enemiesٱللَّهِlaahi(of) AllahإِلَىʹilantoٱلنَّارِNaarithe Fireفَهُمۡfahumthen theyيُوزَعُونَyoozaʻoon.will be assembled in rows١٩
41:20حَتَّىٰٓḤattaaaUntilإِذَاʹiẓaawhenمَاmaa-whenجَآءُوهَاjaaaʹoohaathey come to itشَهِدَshahida(will) testifyعَلَيۡهِمۡʻalayhimagainst themسَمۡعُهُمۡsamʻuhumtheir hearingوَأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡwa-ʹabṣaaruhumand their sightوَجُلُودُهُمwa-julooduhum̃and their skinsبِمَاbimaa(as) to whatكَانُواْkaanoothey used toيَعۡمَلُونَyaʻmaloon.do٢٠
41:21وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they will sayلِجُلُودِهِمۡlijuloodihimto their skinsلِمَlimaWhy doشَهِدتُّمۡshahittumyou testifyعَلَيۡنَاۖʻalaynaa?against usقَالُوٓاْQ̣aaloooThey will sayأَنطَقَنَاʹañṭaq̣analAllah made us speakٱللَّهُlaahulAllah made us speakٱلَّذِيٓlaẓeeethe One Whoأَنطَقَʹañṭaq̣amakes speakكُلَّkullaeveryشَيۡءٖۚshayʹiñwthingوَهُوَwa-Huwaand Heخَلَقَكُمۡkhalaq̣akumcreated youأَوَّلَʹawwala(the) firstمَرَّةٖmarratiñwtimeوَإِلَيۡهِwaʹilayhiand to Himتُرۡجَعُونَturjaʻoon.you will be returned٢١
41:22وَمَاWa-maaAnd notكُنتُمۡkuñtumyou wereتَسۡتَتِرُونَtastatiroonacovering yourselvesأَنʹañylestيَشۡهَدَyashhadatestifyعَلَيۡكُمۡʻalaykumagainst youسَمۡعُكُمۡsamʻukumyour hearingوَلَآwa-laaaand notأَبۡصَٰرُكُمۡʹabṣaarukumyour sightوَلَاwa-laaand notجُلُودُكُمۡjuloodukumyour skinsوَلَٰكِنwa-laakiñbutظَنَنتُمۡz̤̣anañtumyou assumedأَنَّʹannalthatٱللَّهَlaahaAllahلَاlaa-(does) notيَعۡلَمُyaʻlamuknowكَثِيرٗاkas̤eerammuchمِّمَّاmimmaaof whatتَعۡمَلُونَtaʻmaloon!you do٢٢
41:23وَذَٰلِكُمۡWa-ẓaalikumAnd thatظَنُّكُمُz̤̣annukumul(was) your assumptionٱلَّذِيlaẓeewhichظَنَنتُمz̤̣anañtum̃you assumedبِرَبِّكُمۡbi-Rabbikumabout your LordأَرۡدَىٰكُمۡʹardaakumIt has ruined youفَأَصۡبَحۡتُمfaʹaṣbaḥtumand you have becomeمِّنَminalofٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَkhaasireen.the losers٢٣
41:24فَإِنFaʹiñyThen ifيَصۡبِرُواْyaṣbiroothey endureفَٱلنَّارُfan-naaruthe Fireمَثۡوٗىmas̤wal(is) an abodeلَّهُمۡۖlahum!for themوَإِنWa-ʹiñyand ifيَسۡتَعۡتِبُواْyastaʻtiboothey ask for favorفَمَاfamaathen notهُمhumtheyمِّنَminal(will be) ofٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَmuʻtabeen.those who receive favor٢٤
41:25۞وَقَيَّضۡنَاWa-q̣ayyaḍnaaAnd We have destinedلَهُمۡlahumfor themقُرَنَآءَq̣uranaaaʹacompanionsفَزَيَّنُواْfazayyanoo(who) made fair-seemingلَهُمlahumto themمَّاmaawhatبَيۡنَbayna(was) before themأَيۡدِيهِمۡʹaydeehim(was) before themوَمَاwa-maaand whatخَلۡفَهُمۡkhalfahum(was) behind themوَحَقَّwa-ḥaq̣q̣aand (is) justifiedعَلَيۡهِمُʻalayhimulagainst themٱلۡقَوۡلُq̣awluthe Wordفِيٓfeeeamongأُمَمٖʹumamiñnationsقَدۡq̣ad(that have) passed awayخَلَتۡkhalat(that have) passed awayمِنmiñbefore themقَبۡلِهِمq̣ablihimbefore themمِّنَminalofٱلۡجِنِّJinnithe jinnوَٱلۡإِنسِۖwal-ʹIñs;and the menإِنَّهُمۡʹinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواْkaanoowereخَٰسِرِينَkhaasireen.losers٢٥
