The hadith given for also saying "Subha-nal Malikil Quddus" and "Allah-Humma Inni A’wzubika Min Zikkidduniya Wa Zikki Yaumal Qiyamah" 10 times is weak (Da'if).

Benefits & Virtues

Saying Allahu Akbar before tahajjud gives strength to the heart. At night, it helps Muslims remember how great Allah is. This makes tahajjud more special and full of Barakah.

  • Allahu akbar brings your heart near to Allah's greatness.
  • Takbir at night gives you strength and hope for tomorrow.
  • Dhikr calms the mind and gets you ready for tahajjud ki namaz.
  • Saying allah is the greatest starts tahajjud with pure Iman.
  • When to Recite Dua Before Tahajjud
  • Say Allahu Akbar before tahajjud. It wakes your heart for night prayer, brings Barakah, and reminds you - Allah is the greatest - before tahajjud ki namaz.

Common Questions

This dua praises Allah as the keeper of sky and earth. It says His truth is real and we will meet Him. It helps you get close to Allah before you start night prayer.

Many follow the Sunnah by reciting Surah Al-Kafirun after Al-Fatiha in the first rakah. Then Surah Al-Ikhlas in the second. This is what the Prophet did in Tahajjud.

Some recite Dua Hazeen after Tahajjud. It asks Allah for love and mercy. You think about your mistakes. This opens your heart to Allah's forgiveness.

Tahajjud is not must do. It is extra night prayer for those who want to be near Allah. No dua is required. Muslims use it for more devotion.

Tahajjud can be 2 to 12 rakats. Always pray two at a time. There is no fixed number. End with Witr as your last prayer of the night.
