Dua Masura #9 - Allahumma Inni As Aluka Ya Allah Bi'Annaka

Mizan Ibn Arda (RA) tells us: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to the mosque. A man was finishing his prayer. Near the end, during Tashahhud, he said:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا أَللَّهُ بِأَنَّكَ الْوَاحِدُ الْأَحَدُ الصَّمَدُ الَّذِي لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ، أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوبِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Transliteration

Allaahumma 'innee 'as'aluka yaaAllahu bi'annakal-Waahidul-'Ahadus-Samadul-ladhee, lam yalid wa lam yoolad, wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan 'Ahad, 'an taghfira lee dhunoobee 'innaka 'Antal-Ghafoorur-Raheem

Translation

O Allah, I ask You. O Allah, You are the One, the Only, Self-Sufficient Master, Who was not begotten and begets not and none is equal to Him. Forgive me my sins, surely you are Forgiving, Merciful.

When to Recite Dua Masura

Common Questions

Astaghfirullah is very strong. Longer ones like Astaghfirullāha rabbī waatūbu ilayhi work too. The Prophet said them often. They have deep power to bring Allah's mercy.

Say Astaghfirullah al'Adheem alladhi la ilaha illa Huwa alHayyulQayyum wa atubu ilayh. Mean it in your heart. Even big sins can be removed if you truly want Allah to forgive you.

It means O Allah, I ask you for Afiyah. Afiyah is health, safety, and feeling well. Say this short dua for protection and ease in everything you do.

It means O Allah I ask You by Your being the One, the SelfSufficient Master, Who was not begotten and begets not, and none is equal to Him. You say it to ask for forgiveness and mercy.
