The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked Allah to protect him from five things:
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَسُوْءِ الْعُمُرِ، وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ، وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Transliteration
Allaahumma inni A‛oodhu bika minal-jubni, wal-bukhli, wa suw'il-'umuri, wa fitnatis-sadri wa 'adhaabil qabr
Translation
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from cowardice, miserliness, reaching the age of second childhood, the trials of the heart and the torment of the grave.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، وَدَاوُدُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، أَنَّ سُفْيَانَ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ، - وَقَالَ دَاوُدُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ، - عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْعَشْرُ أَحْيَا اللَّيْلَ وَشَدَّ الْمِئْزَرَ وَأَيْقَظَ أَهْلَهُ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَأَبُو يَعْفُورٍ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ .
Translation
Narrated 'Aishah: When the last ten days of Ramadan came, the Prophet (ﷺ) kept vigil and prayed during the whole night, and tied the wrapper tightly, and awakened his family (to pray during the night). Abu Dawud said: The name of Abu Ya'fur is 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Ubaid b. Nistas. [Sahih (Albani). Abu Dawud: 1376]
Allahumma innee a'oozubika min 'azaabil qabri wa min 'azaabi jahannama, wa min fitnatil mahyaa walmamaato, wa min sharro fitnatil-maseehid-dajjal. This prayer asks Allah to keep you safe from pain after death and the tests of life and death.
Surah al-Mulk protects you from grave punishment. Read it each night. Allah will protect you. This surah is called al-mani'ah - the one that keeps you safe.
Say Surat-Al Mulk every night and surat-Al Kahf every Friday. Do your prayers and read Quran always. Allah will help you stay away from azab e qabar.
Allāhumma 'innī 'a`ūdhu bika mina 'l-m'athami wa 'l-maghram. This prayer asks Allah to save you from pain in the grave and from the tests of life and death.
Allahumma innee a'oozubika min 'azaabil qabri wa min 'azaabi jahannama, wa min fitnatil mahyaa walmamaato, wa min sharro fitnatil-maseehid-dajjal. This dua protects from grave pain and more tests.
