عِلۡمِي

(do) I know
بِمَا

of what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
(to) do

He said, ‘What knowledge do I have of what they used to do

إِنۡ
in
Verily
حِسَابُهُمۡ
hisabuhum
their account
إِلَّا
illa
(is) but
عَلَىٰ
ala
upon
رَبِّيۖ
rabbi
my Lord
لَوۡ
law
if
تَشۡعُرُونَ
tash'uruna
you perceive
١١٣
It is for my Lord alone to bring them to account- if only you could see

وَمَآ
wama
And not
أَنَا۠
ana
I am
بِطَارِدِ
bitaridi
the one to drive away
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
١١٤
I will not drive believers away

إِنۡ

Not
أَنَا۠
ana
I am
إِلَّا
illa
but
نَذِيرٞ
nadhirun
a warner
مُّبِينٞ
mubinun
clear
١١٥
I am here only to give people a clear warning.’

قَالُواْ

They said
لَئِن
la-in
If
لَّمۡ
lam
not
تَنتَهِ
tantahi
you desist
يَٰنُوحُ
yanuhu
O Nuh
لَتَكُونَنَّ
latakunanna
Surely you will be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمَرۡجُومِينَ
al-marjumina
those who are stoned
١١٦
So they said, ‘Noah, if you do not stop this, you will be stoned.’

26:117
قَالَ
qala
He said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
قَوۡمِي
qawmi
my people
كَذَّبُونِ
kadhabuni
have denied me
١١٧
He said, ‘My Lord, my people have rejected me

26:118
فَٱفۡتَحۡ
fa-if'tah
So judge
بَيۡنِي
bayni
between me
وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ
wabaynahum
and between them
فَتۡحٗا
fathan
(with decisive) judgment
وَنَجِّنِي
wanajjini
and save me
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعِيَ
ma'iya
(are) with me
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
al-mu'minina
the believers
١١٨
so make a firm judgement between me and them, and save me and my believing followers.’

فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ
fa-anjaynahu
So We saved him
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥ
ma'ahu
(were) with him
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡفُلۡكِ
al-ful'ki
the ship
ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
al-mashhuni
laden
١١٩
So We saved him and his followers in the fully laden ship

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَغۡرَقۡنَا
aghraqna
We drowned
بَعۡدُ
ba'du
thereafter
ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
al-baqina
the remaining ones
١٢٠
and drowned the rest

26:121
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِي
fi
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗۖ
laayatan
surely (is) a sign
وَمَا
wama
but not
كَانَ
kana
are
أَكۡثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
mu'minina
believers
١٢١
There truly is a sign in this, though most of them do not believe

وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely He
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
al-'azizu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
al-rahimu
the Most Merciful

your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful

كَذَّبَتۡ
kadhabat
Denied
عَادٌ
adun
(the people) of Aad
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
al-mur'salina
the Messengers
١٢٣
The people of Ad, too, called the messengers liars

أَخُوهُمۡ

هُودٌ

Hud
أَلَا
ala
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ

you fear (Allah)

Their brother Hud said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God

Indeed I am
لَكُمۡ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasulun
a Messenger
أَمِينٞ
aminun
trustworthy
١٢٥
I am a faithful messenger sent to you

فَٱتَّقُواْ
fa-ittaqu
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-ati'uni
and obey me
١٢٦
be mindful of God and obey me

وَمَآ
wama
And not
أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ
asalukum
I ask you
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
for it
مِنۡ
min
any
أَجۡرٍۖ
ajrin
payment
إِنۡ
in
Not
أَجۡرِيَ
ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا
illa
except
عَلَىٰ
ala
from
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
al-'alamina
(of) the worlds
١٢٧
I ask no reward of you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds

أَتَبۡنُونَ
atabnuna
Do you construct
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
on every
رِيعٍ
ri'in
elevation
ءَايَةٗ
ayatan
a sign
تَعۡبَثُونَ
ta'bathuna
amusing yourselves
١٢٨
How can you be so vain that you set up monuments on every high place

26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ
watattakhidhuna
And take for yourselves
مَصَانِعَ
masani'a
strongholds
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
that you may
تَخۡلُدُونَ
takhluduna
live forever
١٢٩
Do you build fortresses because you hope to be immortal

وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
بَطَشۡتُم
batashtum
you seize
بَطَشۡتُمۡ
batashtum
you seize
جَبَّارِينَ
jabbarina
(as) tyrants
١٣٠
Why do you act like tyrants whenever you attack someone

26:131
فَٱتَّقُواْ
fa-ittaqu
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-ati'uni
and obey me
١٣١
Be mindful of God and obey me

وَٱتَّقُواْ
wa-ittaqu
And fear
ٱلَّذِيٓ
alladhi
the One Who
أَمَدَّكُم
amaddakum
has aided you
بِمَا
bima
with what
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
you know
١٣٢
be mindful of Him who has provided you with everything you know

أَمَدَّكُم
amaddakum
He has aided you
بِأَنۡعَٰمٖ
bi-an'amin
with cattle
وَبَنِينَ
wabanina
and children
١٣٣
He has given you livestock, sons

وَجَنَّٰتٖ
wajannatin
And gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
wa'uyunin
and springs
١٣٤
gardens, springs

إِنِّيٓ
inni
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
akhafu
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
adhaba
(the) punishment
يَوۡمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٖ
azimin
Great
١٣٥
for I truly fear that the torment of a grievous day will overtake you.’

قَالُواْ

They said
سَوَآءٌ
sawaon
(It is) same
عَلَيۡنَآ
alayna
to us
أَوَعَظۡتَ
awa'azta
whether you advise
أَمۡ
am
or
لَمۡ
lam
not
تَكُن
takun
you are
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ
al-wa'izina
the advisors
١٣٦
They replied, ‘It makes no difference to us whether you warn us or not
