وَحُصِّلَ
wahussila
And is made apparent

what
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلصُّدُورِ
al-suduri
the breasts

when the secrets of hearts are uncovered, on that Day

إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّهُم
rabbahum
their Lord
بِهِمۡ
bihim
about them
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لَّخَبِيرُۢ
lakhabirun
(is) surely All-Aware

their Lord will be fully aware of them all

What
ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ

(is) the Striking Calamity

What is the Crashing Blow

وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
will make you know
مَا
ma
what
ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ
al-qari'atu
(is) the Striking Calamity
٣
What will explain to you what the Crashing Blow is

يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يَكُونُ
yakunu
will be
ٱلنَّاسُ
al-nasu
the mankind
كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ
kal-farashi
like moths
ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ
al-mabthuthi
scattered
٤
On a Day when people will be like scattered moths

وَتَكُونُ
watakunu
And will be
ٱلۡجِبَالُ
al-jibalu
the mountains
كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ
kal-'ih'ni
like wool
ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ
al-manfushi
fluffed up
٥
and the mountains like tufts of wool

فَأَمَّا
fa-amma
Then as for
مَن
man
(him) whose
ثَقُلَتۡ
thaqulat
(are) heavy
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
mawazinuhu
his scales
٦
the one whose good deeds are heavy on the scales

101:7
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
Then he
فِي
fi
(will be) in
عِيشَةٖ
ishatin
a life
رَّاضِيَةٖ
radiyatin
pleasant
٧
will have a pleasant life

101:8
وَأَمَّا
wa-amma
But as for
مَنۡ
man
(him) whose
خَفَّتۡ
khaffat
(are) light
مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ
mawazinuhu
his scales
٨
but the one whose good deeds are light

فَأُمُّهُۥ
fa-ummuhu
His abode
هَاوِيَةٞ
hawiyatun
(will be the) Pit
٩
will have the Bottomless Pit for his home––

وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
will make you know
مَا
ma
what
هِيَهۡ
hiyah
it is
١٠
what will explain to you what that is?––

نَارٌ
narun
A Fire
حَامِيَةُۢ
hamiyatun
intensely hot
١١
a blazing fire

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ
alhakumu
Diverts you
ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
al-takathuru
the competition to increase

Striving for more distracts you

حَتَّىٰ
hatta
Until
زُرۡتُمُ
zur'tumu
you visit
ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ
al-maqabira
the graves
٢
until you go into your graves

كـَلَّا
kalla
Nay
سَوۡفَ
sawfa
Soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
you will know
٣
No indeed! You will come to know

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
كـَلَّا
kalla
nay
سَوۡفَ
sawfa
Soon
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
you will know

No indeed! In the end you will come to know

Nay
لَوۡ
law
If
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
you know
عِلۡمَ
il'ma
(with) a knowledge
ٱلۡيَقِينِ
al-yaqini
(of) certainty

No indeed! If only you knew for certain

لَتَرَوُنَّ
latarawunna
Surely you will see
ٱلۡجَحِيمَ
al-jahima
the Hellfire
٦
You will most definitely see Hellfire

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
لَتَرَوُنَّهَا
latarawunnaha
surely you will see it
عَيۡنَ
ayna
(with the) eye
ٱلۡيَقِينِ
al-yaqini
(of) certainty
٧
you will see it with the eye of certainty

thumma
Then
لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ
latus'alunna
surely you will be asked
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
yawma-idhin
that Day
عَنِ
ani
about
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
al-na'imi
the pleasures
٨
On that Day, you will be asked about your pleasures
