Woe
لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ
lil'mutaffifina
to those who give less

Woe to those who give short measure

Isa sa 558 bahagi ng Qur'an, bawat isa ay sipi tungkol sa iisang tema

ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
إِذَا
idha
when
ٱكۡتَالُواْ
ik'talu
they take a measure
عَلَى
ala
from
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
the people
يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ
yastawfuna
they take in full
٢
who demand of other people full measure for themselves

83:3
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
But when
كَالُوهُمۡ
kaluhum
they give by measure (to) them
أَو
aw
or
وَّزَنُوهُمۡ
wazanuhum
they weigh (for) them
يُخۡسِرُونَ
yukh'siruna
they give less
٣
but give less than they should when it is they who weigh or measure for others

83:4
أَلَا
ala
Do not
يَظُنُّ
yazunnu
think
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
those
أَنَّهُم
annahum
that they
مَّبۡعُوثُونَ
mab'uthuna
(will be) resurrected
٤
Do these people not realize that they will be raised up

لِيَوۡمٍ
liyawmin
For a Day
عَظِيمٖ
azimin
Great
٥
on a mighty Day

83:6
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يَقُومُ
yaqumu
will stand
ٱلنَّاسُ
al-nasu
mankind
لِرَبِّ
lirabbi
before (the) Lord
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
al-'alamina
(of) the worlds
٦
a Day when everyone will stand before the Lord of the Worlds

كـَلَّآ
kalla
Nay
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
كِتَٰبَ
kitaba
(the) record
ٱلۡفُجَّارِ
al-fujari
(of) the wicked
لَفِي
lafi
(is) surely in
سِجِّينٖ
sijjinin
Sijjin
٧
No indeed! The list of the wicked is in Sijjin––

وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
can make you know
مَا
ma
what
سِجِّينٞ
sijjinun
(is) Sijjin
٨
what will explain to you what Sijjin is?––

كِتَٰبٞ
kitabun
A book
مَّرۡقُومٞ
marqumun
written
٩
a clearly numbered list

83:10
وَيۡلٞ
waylun
Woe
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ
lil'mukadhibina
to the deniers
١٠
Woe on that day to the deniers

83:11
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
يُكَذِّبُونَ
yukadhibuna
deny
بِيَوۡمِ
biyawmi
(the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
al-dini
(of) the Judgment
١١
those who deny the Day of Judgement

83:12
وَمَا
wama
And not
يُكَذِّبُ
yukadhibu
can deny
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
[of] it
إِلَّا
illa
except
كُلُّ
kullu
every
مُعۡتَدٍ
mu'tadin
transgressor
أَثِيمٍ
athimin
sinful
١٢
Only the evil aggressor denies it

83:13
إِذَا
idha
When
تُتۡلَىٰ
tut'la
are recited
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
to him
ءَايَٰتُنَا
ayatuna
Our Verses
قَالَ
qala
he says
أَسَٰطِيرُ
asatiru
Stories
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
al-awalina
(of) the former (people)
١٣
when Our revelations are recited to him, he says, ‘Ancient fables!’

83:14
كـَلَّاۖ
kalla
Nay
بَلۡۜ
bal
But
رَانَ
rana
(the) stain has covered
عَلَىٰ
ala
[over]
قُلُوبِهِم
qulubihim
their hearts
مَّا
ma
(for) what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَكۡسِبُونَ
yaksibuna
earn
١٤
No indeed! Their hearts are encrusted with what they have done

83:15
كـَلَّآ
kalla
Nay
إِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed they
عَن
an
from
رَّبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
يَوۡمَئِذٖ
yawma-idhin
that Day
لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ
lamahjubuna
surely will be partitioned
١٥
No indeed! On that Day they will be screened offfrom their Lord

ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
إِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
indeed they
لَصَالُواْ
lasalu
(surely) will burn
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
al-jahimi
(in) the Hellfire
١٦
they will burn in Hell

83:17
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
يُقَالُ
yuqalu
it will be said
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
(is) what
كُنتُم
kuntum
you used to
بِهِۦ
bihi
[of it]
تُكَذِّبُونَ
tukadhibuna
deny
١٧
and they will be told, ‘This is what you called a lie.’

83:18
كـَلَّآ
kalla
Nay
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
كِتَٰبَ
kitaba
(the) record
ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ
al-abrari
(of) the righteous
لَفِي
lafi
(will be) surely in
عِلِّيِّينَ
illiyyina
Illiyin
١٨
No indeed! The list of the truly good is in 'Illiyyin––

وَمَآ
wama
And what
أَدۡرَىٰكَ
adraka
can make you know
مَا
ma
what
عِلِّيُّونَ
illiyyuna
(is) Illiyun
١٩
what will explain to you what 'Illiyyin is?––

كِتَٰبٞ
kitabun
A book
مَّرۡقُومٞ
marqumun
written
٢٠
a clearly written list

83:21
يَشۡهَدُهُ
yashhaduhu
Witness it
ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
al-muqarabuna
those brought near
٢١
witnessed by those brought near

83:22
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ
al-abrara
the righteous
لَفِي
lafi
(will be) surely in
نَعِيمٍ
na'imin
bliss
٢٢
The truly good will live in bliss

83:23
عَلَى
ala
On
ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ
al-araiki
thrones
يَنظُرُونَ
yanzuruna
observing
٢٣
seated on couches, gazing around
Translation 1260
83:24
تَعۡرِفُ
ta'rifu
You will recognize
فِي
fi
in
وُجُوهِهِمۡ
wujuhihim
their faces
نَضۡرَةَ
nadrata
(the) radiance
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
al-na'imi
(of) bliss
٢٤
You will recognize on their faces the radiance of bliss

يُسۡقَوۡنَ
yus'qawna
They will be given to drink
مِن
min
of
رَّحِيقٖ
rahiqin
a pure wine
مَّخۡتُومٍ
makhtumin
sealed
٢٥
They will be served a sealed nectar

83:26
خِتَٰمُهُۥ
khitamuhu
Its seal
مِسۡكٞۚ
mis'kun
(will be of) musk
وَفِي
wafi
And for
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ
falyatanafasi
let aspire
ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ
al-mutanafisuna
the aspirers
٢٦
its seal [perfumed with] a fragrant herb––let those who strive, strive for this––

83:27
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ
wamizajuhu
And its mixture
مِن
min
(is) of
تَسۡنِيمٍ
tasnimin
Tasneem
٢٧
mixed with the water of Tasnim

83:28
عَيۡنٗا
aynan
A spring
يَشۡرَبُ
yashrabu
will drink
بِهَا
biha
from it
ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
al-muqarabuna
those brought near
٢٨
a spring from which those brought near will drink

83:29
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
أَجۡرَمُواْ
ajramu
committed crimes
كَانُواْ
kanu
used to
مِنَ
mina
at
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believed
يَضۡحَكُونَ
yadhakuna
laugh
٢٩
The wicked used to laugh at the believers––

83:30
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
مَرُّواْ
marru
they passed
بِهِمۡ
bihim
by them
يَتَغَامَزُونَ
yataghamazuna
they winked at one another
٣٠
they would wink at one another when the believers passed by them

83:31
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ
inqalabu
they returned
إِلَىٰٓ
ila
to
أَهۡلِهِمُ
ahlihimu
their people
ٱنقَلَبُواْ
inqalabu
they would return
فَكِهِينَ
fakihina
jesting
٣١
joke about them when they got back to their own people

83:32
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
رَأَوۡهُمۡ
ra-awhum
they saw them
قَالُوٓاْ
qalu
they said
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haulai
these
لَضَآلُّونَ
ladalluna
surely have gone astray
٣٢
and say, when they saw them, ‘These people are misguided,’

وَمَآ
wama
But not
أُرۡسِلُواْ
ur'silu
they had been sent
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
over them
حَٰفِظِينَ
hafizina
(as) guardians
٣٣
though they were not sent to be their keepers

83:34
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ
fal-yawma
So today
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believed
مِنَ
mina
at
ٱلۡكُفَّارِ
al-kufari
the disbelievers
يَضۡحَكُونَ
yadhakuna
they will laugh
٣٤
so today the believers are laughing at the disbelievers

ala
On
ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ
al-araiki
the thrones
يَنظُرُونَ
yanzuruna
observing
٣٥
as they sit on couches, gazing around

هَلۡ
hal
Have (not)
ثُوِّبَ
thuwwiba
been rewarded
ٱلۡكُفَّارُ
al-kufaru
the disbelievers
مَا
ma
(for) what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَفۡعَلُونَ
yaf 'aluna
do
٣٦
Have the disbelievers [not] been repaid for their deeds
