أَلَآ

No doubt
إِنَّهُم
innahum
indeed they
مِّنۡ

إِفۡكِهِمۡ
if'kihim
their falsehood
لَيَقُولُونَ
layaquluna
[they] say

No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say

تَذَكَّرُونَ

you pay heed

Do you not reflect

Or
لَكُمۡ

(is) for you
سُلۡطَٰنٞ
sul'tanun
an authority
مُّبِينٞ
mubinun
clear

Do you perhaps have clear authority

فَأۡتُواْ
fatu
Then bring
بِكِتَٰبِكُمۡ
bikitabikum
your book
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
sadiqina
truthful

Bring your scriptures, if you are telling the truth

37:158
وَجَعَلُواْ
waja'alu
And they have made
بَيۡنَهُۥ
baynahu
between Him
وَبَيۡنَ
wabayna
and between
ٱلۡجِنَّةِ
al-jinati
the jinn
نَسَبٗاۚ
nasaban
a relationship
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
but certainly
عَلِمَتِ
alimati
know
ٱلۡجِنَّةُ
al-jinatu
the jinn
إِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
that they
لَمُحۡضَرُونَ
lamuh'daruna
(will) surely be brought
١٥٨
They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be brought before Him

سُبۡحَٰنَ
sub'hana
Glory be
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(to) Allah
عَمَّا
amma
above what
يَصِفُونَ
yasifuna
they attribute

God is far above what they attribute to Him

Except
عِبَادَ
ibada
(the) slaves
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
al-mukh'lasina
the chosen

the true servants of God do not do such things

فَإِنَّكُمۡ
fa-innakum
So indeed you
وَمَا

and what
تَعۡبُدُونَ
ta'buduna
you worship

and neither you nor what you worship

أَنتُمۡ

you
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
from Him
بِفَٰتِنِينَ
bifatinina
can tempt away (anyone)

can lure away from God any

إِلَّا
illa
Except
مَنۡ
man
who
هُوَ
huwa
he
صَالِ
sali
(is) to burn
ٱلۡجَحِيمِ
al-jahimi
(in) the Hellfire
١٦٣
except those who will burn in Hell

وَمَا
wama
And not
مِنَّآ
minna
among us
إِلَّا
illa
except
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
مَقَامٞ
maqamun
(is) a position
مَّعۡلُومٞ
ma'lumun
known
١٦٤
[The angels say], ‘Every single one of us has his appointed place

وَإِنَّا
wa-inna
And indeed we
لَنَحۡنُ
lanahnu
surely [we]
ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
al-safuna
stand in rows
١٦٥
we are ranged in ranks

وَإِنَّا
wa-inna
And indeed we
لَنَحۡنُ
lanahnu
surely [we]
ٱلۡمُسَبِّحُونَ
al-musabihuna
glorify (Allah)
١٦٦
We glorify God.’

وَإِن

And indeed
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
لَيَقُولُونَ
layaquluna
say
١٦٧
[The disbelievers] used to say

لَوۡ
law
If
أَنَّ
anna
that
عِندَنَا
indana
we had
ذِكۡرٗا
dhik'ran
a reminder
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
al-awalina
the former (people)
١٦٨
‘If only we had a scripture like previous people

37:169
لَكُنَّا
lakunna
Certainly we (would) have been
عِبَادَ
ibada
slaves
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
al-mukh'lasina
the chosen
١٦٩
we would be true servants of God,’

37:170
فَكَفَرُواْ
fakafaru
But they disbelieved
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
in it
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
so soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
they will know
١٧٠
yet now they reject [the Quran]. They will soon realize

وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And verily
سَبَقَتۡ
sabaqat
has preceded
كَلِمَتُنَا
kalimatuna
Our Word
لِعِبَادِنَا
li'ibadina
for Our slaves
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
al-mur'salina
the Messengers
١٧١
Our word has already been given to Our servants the messengers

37:172
إِنَّهُمۡ
innahum
Indeed they
لَهُمُ
lahumu
surely they
ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ
al-mansuruna
(would be) the victorious
١٧٢
it is they who will be helped

37:173
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
جُندَنَا
jundana
Our host
لَهُمُ
lahumu
surely they
ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
al-ghalibuna
(will be) those who overcome
١٧٣
and the ones who support Our cause will be the winners

فَتَوَلَّ
fatawalla
So turn away
عَنۡهُمۡ
anhum
from them
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
حِينٖ
hinin
a time
١٧٤
So [Prophet] turn away from the disbelievers for a while

37:175
وَأَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ
wa-absir'hum
And see them
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
so soon
يُبۡصِرُونَ
yub'siruna
they will see
١٧٥
Watch them: they will soon see
