15:76
وَإِنَّهَا
wa-innaha
And indeed it
لَبِسَبِيلٖ
labisabilin
(is) on a road
مُّقِيمٍ
muqimin
established
٧٦
it is still there on the highway

Al-Hijr 15:89
15:77
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِي
fi
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
لَأٓيَةٗ
laayatan
surely (is) a Sign
لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minina
for the believers
٧٧
there truly is a sign in this for those who believe

15:78
وَإِن
wa-in
And were
كَانَ
kana
And were
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ashabu
(the) companions
ٱلۡأَيۡكَةِ
al-aykati
(of) the wood
لَظَٰلِمِينَ
lazalimina
surely wrongdoers
٧٨
The forest-dwellers, too, were wrongdoers
Translation 1260
15:79
فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا
fa-intaqamna
So We took retribution
مِنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
from them
وَإِنَّهُمَا
wa-innahuma
and indeed they both
لَبِإِمَامٖ
labi-imamin
(were) on a highway
مُّبِينٖ
mubinin
clear
٧٩
and We took retribution on them; both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see

15:80
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ashabu
(the) companions
ٱلۡحِجۡرِ
al-hij'ri
(of) the Rocky Tract
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
al-mur'salina
the Messengers
٨٠
The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers
Translation 1260
15:81
وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ
waataynahum
And We gave them
ءَايَٰتِنَا
ayatina
Our Signs
فَكَانُواْ
fakanu
but they were
عَنۡهَا
anha
from them
مُعۡرِضِينَ
mu'ridina
turning away
٨١
We gave them Our signs, but they turned their backs

15:82
وَكَانُواْ
wakanu
And they used (to)
يَنۡحِتُونَ
yanhituna
carve
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡجِبَالِ
al-jibali
the mountains
بُيُوتًا
buyutan
houses
ءَامِنِينَ
aminina
secure
٨٢
They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security

15:83
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
fa-akhadhathumu
But seized them
ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ
al-sayhatu
the awful cry
مُصۡبِحِينَ
mus'bihina
(at) early morning
٨٣
the blast overwhelmed them early in the morning

15:84
فَمَآ
fama
And not
أَغۡنَىٰ
aghna
availed
عَنۡهُم
anhum
them
مَّا
ma
what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used (to)
يَكۡسِبُونَ
yaksibuna
earn
٨٤
What they had gained was of no use to them

15:85
وَمَا
wama
And not
خَلَقۡنَا
khalaqna
We created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-arda
and the earth
وَمَا
wama
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَآ
baynahuma
(is) between them
إِلَّا
illa
except
بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ
bil-haqi
in truth
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
ٱلسَّاعَةَ
al-sa'ata
the Hour
لَأٓتِيَةٞۖ
laatiyatun
(is) surely coming
فَٱصۡفَحِ
fa-is'fahi
So overlook
ٱلصَّفۡحَ
al-safha
(with) forgiveness
ٱلۡجَمِيلَ
al-jamila
gracious
٨٥
We did not create the heavens and the earth and everything between them without a true purpose: the Hour will certainly come, so [Prophet] bear with them graciously
Translation 1260
15:86
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلۡخَلَّٰقُ
al-khalaqu
(is) the Creator
ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
al-'alimu
the All-Knower
٨٦
Your Lord is the All Knowing Creator

15:87
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
ءَاتَيۡنَٰكَ
ataynaka
We have given you
سَبۡعٗا
sab'an
seven
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمَثَانِي
al-mathani
the oft-repeated
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
wal-qur'ana
and the Quran
ٱلۡعَظِيمَ
al-'azima
Great
٨٧
We have given you the seven oft-recited versesand the whole glorious Quran

15:88
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَمُدَّنَّ
tamuddanna
extend
عَيۡنَيۡكَ
aynayka
your eyes
إِلَىٰ
ila
towards
مَا
ma
what
مَتَّعۡنَا
matta'na
We have bestowed
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
with it
أَزۡوَٰجٗا
azwajan
(to) categories
مِّنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
of them
وَلَا
wala
and (do) not
تَحۡزَنۡ
tahzan
grieve
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
over them
وَٱخۡفِضۡ
wa-ikh'fid
And lower
جَنَاحَكَ
janahaka
your wing
لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minina
to the believers
٨٨
Do not look longingly at the good things We have given some to enjoy. Do not grieve over the [disbelievers], but lower your wings over the believers

15:89
وَقُلۡ
waqul
And say
إِنِّيٓ
inni
Indeed I
أَنَا
ana
[I] am
ٱلنَّذِيرُ
al-nadhiru
a warner
ٱلۡمُبِينُ
al-mubinu
clear
٨٩
and say, ‘I am here to give plain warning,’

15:90
كَمَآ
kama
As
أَنزَلۡنَا
anzalna
We sent down
عَلَى
ala
on
ٱلۡمُقۡتَسِمِينَ
al-muq'tasimina
those who divided
٩٠
like the [warning] We have sent down for those who divide themselves into bands

alladhina
Those who
جَعَلُواْ
ja'alu
have made
ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ
al-qur'ana
the Quran
عِضِينَ
idina
(in) parts

and abuse the Quran––

15:92
فَوَرَبِّكَ
fawarabbika
So by your Lord
لَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّهُمۡ
lanasalannahum
surely We will question them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
ajma'ina
all
٩٢
by your Lord, We will question them all

15:93
عَمَّا
amma
About what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used (to)
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do
٩٣
about their deeds
Translation 1260
15:94
فَٱصۡدَعۡ
fa-is'da'
So proclaim
بِمَا
bima
of what
تُؤۡمَرُ
tu'maru
you are ordered
وَأَعۡرِضۡ
wa-a'rid
and turn away
عَنِ
ani
from
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
al-mush'rikina
the polytheists
٩٤
So proclaim openly what you have been commanded [to say], and ignore the idolaters

15:95
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed We
كَفَيۡنَٰكَ
kafaynaka
[We] are sufficient for you
ٱلۡمُسۡتَهۡزِءِينَ
al-mus'tahziina
(against) the mockers
٩٥
We are enough for you against all those who ridicule your message

15:96
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
يَجۡعَلُونَ
yaj'aluna
set up
مَعَ
ma'a
with
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
إِلَٰهًا
ilahan
god
ءَاخَرَۚ
akhara
another
فَسَوۡفَ
fasawfa
But soon
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
they will come to know
٩٦
who set up another god beside God- they will come to know

15:97
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And verily
نَعۡلَمُ
na'lamu
We know
أَنَّكَ
annaka
that [you]
يَضِيقُ
yadiqu
(is) straitened
صَدۡرُكَ
sadruka
your breast
بِمَا
bima
by what
يَقُولُونَ
yaquluna
they say
٩٧
We are well aware that your heart is weighed down by what they say

15:98
فَسَبِّحۡ
fasabbih
So glorify
بِحَمۡدِ
bihamdi
with the praise
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
وَكُن
wakun
and be
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ
al-sajidina
those who prostrate
٩٨
Celebrate the glory of your Lord and be among those who bow down to Him
Translation 1260
15:99
وَٱعۡبُدۡ
wa-u'bud
And worship
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
يَأۡتِيَكَ
yatiyaka
comes to you
ٱلۡيَقِينُ
al-yaqinu
the certainty
٩٩
worship your Lord until what is certain comes to you
