8:22
۞إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
شَرَّ
sharra
worst
ٱلدَّوَآبِّ
al-dawabi
(of) the living creatures
عِندَ
inda
near
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
ٱلصُّمُّ
al-sumu
(are) the deaf
ٱلۡبُكۡمُ
al-buk'mu
the dumb
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
لَا
la
(do) not
يَعۡقِلُونَ
ya'qiluna
use (their) intellect
٢٢
8:23
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
عَلِمَ
alima
(had) known
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
فِيهِمۡ
fihim
in them
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
any good
لَّأَسۡمَعَهُمۡۖ
la-asma'ahum
surely He (would) have made them hear
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
أَسۡمَعَهُمۡ
asma'ahum
He had made them hear
لَتَوَلَّواْ
latawallaw
surely they would have turned away
وَّهُم
wahum
while they
مُّعۡرِضُونَ
mu'riduna
(were) averse
٢٣
8:24
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ
is'tajibu
Respond
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
وَلِلرَّسُولِ
walilrrasuli
and His Messenger
إِذَا
idha
when
دَعَاكُمۡ
da'akum
he calls you
لِمَا
lima
to what
يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ
yuh'yikum
gives you life
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يَحُولُ
yahulu
comes
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(in) between
ٱلۡمَرۡءِ
al-mari
a man
وَقَلۡبِهِۦ
waqalbihi
and his heart
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ
wa-annahu
and that
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to Him
تُحۡشَرُونَ
tuh'sharuna
you will be gathered
٢٤
8:25
وَٱتَّقُواْ
wa-ittaqu
And fear
فِتۡنَةٗ
fit'natan
a trial
لَّا
la
not
تُصِيبَنَّ
tusibanna
which will afflict
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
ظَلَمُواْ
zalamu
do wrong
مِنكُمۡ
minkum
among you
خَآصَّةٗۖ
khassatan
exclusively
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadidu
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
al-'iqabi
(in) the penalty

8:26
وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ
wa-udh'kuru
And remember
إِذۡ
idh
when
أَنتُمۡ
antum
you
قَلِيلٞ
qalilun
(were) few
مُّسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ
mus'tad'afuna
(and) deemed weak
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
تَخَافُونَ
takhafuna
fearing
أَن
an
that
يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ
yatakhattafakumu
might do away with you
ٱلنَّاسُ
al-nasu
the men
فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمۡ
faawakum
then He sheltered you
وَأَيَّدَكُم
wa-ayyadakum
and strengthened you
بِنَصۡرِهِۦ
binasrihi
with His help
وَرَزَقَكُم
warazaqakum
and provided you
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ
al-tayibati
the good things
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuruna
(be) thankful
٢٦
8:27
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe
لَا
la
(Do) not
تَخُونُواْ
takhunu
betray
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولَ
wal-rasula
and the Messenger
وَتَخُونُوٓاْ
watakhunu
or betray
أَمَٰنَٰتِكُمۡ
amanatikum
your trusts
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
while you
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
know
٢٧
8:28
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
And know
أَنَّمَآ
annama
that
أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ
amwalukum
your wealth
وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ
wa-awladukum
and your children
فِتۡنَةٞ
fit'natun
(are) a trial
وَأَنَّ
wa-anna
And that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عِندَهُۥٓ
indahu
with Him
أَجۡرٌ
ajrun
(is) a reward
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
٢٨
8:29
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
amanu
believe
إِن
in
If
تَتَّقُواْ
tattaqu
you fear
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يَجۡعَل
yaj'al
He will grant
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
you
فُرۡقَانٗا
fur'qanan
a criterion
وَيُكَفِّرۡ
wayukaffir
and will remove
عَنكُمۡ
ankum
from you
سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ
sayyiatikum
your evil deeds
وَيَغۡفِرۡ
wayaghfir
and forgive
لَكُمۡۗ
lakum
you
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
ذُو
dhu
(is) the Possessor
ٱلۡفَضۡلِ
al-fadli
(of) Bounty
ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
al-'azimi
the Great
٢٩
8:30
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
يَمۡكُرُ
yamkuru
plotted
بِكَ
bika
against you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieved
لِيُثۡبِتُوكَ
liyuth'bituka
that they restrain you
أَوۡ
aw
or
يَقۡتُلُوكَ
yaqtuluka
kill you
أَوۡ
aw
or
يُخۡرِجُوكَۚ
yukh'rijuka
drive you out
وَيَمۡكُرُونَ
wayamkuruna
And they were planning
وَيَمۡكُرُ
wayamkuru
and (also) was planning
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
خَيۡرُ
khayru
is (the) Best
ٱلۡمَٰكِرِينَ
al-makirina
(of) the Planners
٣٠
8:31
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
تُتۡلَىٰ
tut'la
are recited
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
to them
ءَايَٰتُنَا
ayatuna
Our Verses
قَالُواْ
qalu
they say
قَدۡ
qad
Verily
سَمِعۡنَا
sami'na
we have heard
لَوۡ
law
if
نَشَآءُ
nashau
we wish
لَقُلۡنَا
laqul'na
surely we could say
مِثۡلَ
mith'la
like
هَٰذَآ
hadha
this
إِنۡ
in
Not
هَٰذَآ
hadha
is this
إِلَّآ
illa
but
أَسَٰطِيرُ
asatiru
tales
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
al-awalina
(of) the former (people)
٣١
8:32
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
ٱللَّهُمَّ
al-lahuma
O Allah
إِن
in
If
كَانَ
kana
was
هَٰذَا
hadha
this
هُوَ
huwa
[it]
ٱلۡحَقَّ
al-haqa
the truth
مِنۡ
min
[of]
عِندِكَ
indika
from You
فَأَمۡطِرۡ
fa-amtir
then (send) rain
عَلَيۡنَا
alayna
upon us
حِجَارَةٗ
hijaratan
(of) stones
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
al-samai
the sky
أَوِ
awi
or
ٱئۡتِنَا
i'tina
bring (upon) us
بِعَذَابٍ
bi'adhabin
a punishment
أَلِيمٖ
alimin
painful
٣٢
8:33
وَمَا
wama
But not
كَانَ
kana
is
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
(for) Allah
لِيُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
liyu'adhibahum
that He punishes them
وَأَنتَ
wa-anta
while you
فِيهِمۡۚ
fihim
(are) among them
وَمَا
wama
and not
كَانَ
kana
is
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
مُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
mu'adhibahum
the One Who punishes them
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
yastaghfiruna
seek forgiveness

وَمَا
wama
But what
لَهُمۡ
lahum
(is) for them
أَلَّا
alla
that not
يُعَذِّبَهُمُ
yu'adhibahumu
(should) punish them
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
وَهُمۡ
wahum
while they
يَصُدُّونَ
yasudduna
hinder (people)
عَنِ
ani
from
ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ
al-masjidi
Al-Masjid
ٱلۡحَرَامِ
al-harami
Al-Haraam
وَمَا
wama
while not
كَانُوٓاْ
kanu
they are
أَوۡلِيَآءَهُۥٓۚ
awliyaahu
its guardians
إِنۡ
in
Not (can be)
أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُۥٓ
awliyauhu
its guardians
إِلَّا
illa
except
ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَ
al-mutaquna
the ones who fear Allah
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
but
أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ
aktharahum
most of them
لَا
la
(do) not
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
know
٣٤
8:35
وَمَا
wama
And not
كَانَ
kana
was
صَلَاتُهُمۡ
salatuhum
their prayer
عِندَ
inda
at
ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
al-bayti
the House
إِلَّا
illa
except
مُكَآءٗ
mukaan
whistling
وَتَصۡدِيَةٗۚ
watasdiyatan
and clapping
فَذُوقُواْ
fadhuqu
So taste
ٱلۡعَذَابَ
al-'adhaba
the punishment
بِمَا
bima
because
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you used to
تَكۡفُرُونَ
takfuruna
disbelieve
٣٥
8:36
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieve
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiquna
they spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
amwalahum
their wealth
لِيَصُدُّواْ
liyasuddu
to hinder (people)
عَن
an
from
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِۚ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
فَسَيُنفِقُونَهَا
fasayunfiqunaha
So they will spend it
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
تَكُونُ
takunu
it will be
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
for them
حَسۡرَةٗ
hasratan
a regret
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُغۡلَبُونَۗ
yugh'labuna
they will be overcome
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafaru
disbelieve
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
يُحۡشَرُونَ
yuh'sharuna
they will be gathered
٣٦
8:37
لِيَمِيزَ
liyamiza
That may distinguish
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
al-khabitha
the wicked
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلطَّيِّبِ
al-tayibi
the good
وَيَجۡعَلَ
wayaj'ala
and place
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
al-khabitha
the wicked
بَعۡضَهُۥ
ba'dahu
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
بَعۡضٖ
ba'din
others
فَيَرۡكُمَهُۥ
fayarkumahu
and heap them
جَمِيعٗا
jami'an
all together
فَيَجۡعَلَهُۥ
fayaj'alahu
and put them
فِي
fi
in
جَهَنَّمَۚ
jahannama
Hell
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
هُمُ
humu
they
ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
al-khasiruna
(are) the losers
٣٧
8:38
قُل
qul
Say
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhina
to those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafaru
disbelieve
إِن
in
if
يَنتَهُواْ
yantahu
they cease
يُغۡفَرۡ
yugh'far
will be forgiven
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّا
ma
what
قَدۡ
qad
[verily]
سَلَفَ
salafa
(is) past
وَإِن
wa-in
But if
يَعُودُواْ
ya'udu
they return
فَقَدۡ
faqad
then verily
مَضَتۡ
madat
preceded
سُنَّتُ
sunnatu
(the) practice
ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
al-awalina
(of) the former (people)
٣٨
8:39
وَقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ
waqatiluhum
And fight them
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
لَا
la
not
تَكُونَ
takuna
there is
فِتۡنَةٞ
fit'natun
oppression
وَيَكُونَ
wayakuna
and is
ٱلدِّينُ
al-dinu
the religion
كُلُّهُۥ
kulluhu
all of it
لِلَّهِۚ
lillahi
for Allah
فَإِنِ
fa-ini
But if
ٱنتَهَوۡاْ
intahaw
they cease
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
بِمَا
bima
of what
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
they do
بَصِيرٞ
basirun
(is) All-Seer
٣٩
8:40
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تَوَلَّوۡاْ
tawallaw
they turn away
فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
fa-i'lamu
then know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۚ
mawlakum
(is) your Protector
نِعۡمَ
ni'ma
Excellent
ٱلۡمَوۡلَىٰ
al-mawla
(is) the Protector
وَنِعۡمَ
wani'ma
and Excellent
ٱلنَّصِيرُ
al-nasiru
(is) the Helper
٤٠
