One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

6:74
۞وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
قَالَ
qala
said
إِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
ib'rahimu
Ibrahim
لِأَبِيهِ
li-abihi
to his father
ءَازَرَ
azara
Azar
أَتَتَّخِذُ
atattakhidhu
Do you take
أَصۡنَامًا
asnaman
idols
ءَالِهَةً
alihatan
(as) gods
إِنِّيٓ
inni
Indeed I
أَرَىٰكَ
araka
[I] see you
وَقَوۡمَكَ
waqawmaka
and your people
فِي
fi
in
ضَلَٰلٖ
dalalin
error
مُّبِينٖ
mubinin
manifest
٧٤
6:75
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhalika
And thus
نُرِيٓ
nuri
We show(ed)
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rahima
Ibrahim
مَلَكُوتَ
malakuta
the kingdom
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ardi
and the earth
وَلِيَكُونَ
waliyakuna
so that he would be
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلۡمُوقِنِينَ
al-muqinina
the ones who are certain
٧٥
6:76
فَلَمَّا
falamma
So when
جَنَّ
janna
covered
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
over him
ٱلَّيۡلُ
al-laylu
the night
رَءَا
raa
he saw
كَوۡكَبٗاۖ
kawkaban
a star
قَالَ
qala
He said
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
رَبِّيۖ
rabbi
(is) my Lord
فَلَمَّآ
falamma
But when
أَفَلَ
afala
it set
قَالَ
qala
he said
لَآ
la
Not
أُحِبُّ
uhibbu
(do) I like
ٱلۡأٓفِلِينَ
al-afilina
the ones that set
٧٦
6:77
فَلَمَّا
falamma
When
رَءَا
raa
he saw
ٱلۡقَمَرَ
al-qamara
the moon
بَازِغٗا
bazighan
rising
قَالَ
qala
he said
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
رَبِّيۖ
rabbi
(is) my Lord
فَلَمَّآ
falamma
But when
أَفَلَ
afala
it set
قَالَ
qala
he said
لَئِن
la-in
If
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يَهۡدِنِي
yahdini
guide me
رَبِّي
rabbi
my Lord
لَأَكُونَنَّ
la-akunanna
I will surely be
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
al-qawmi
the people
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
al-dalina
who went astray
٧٧
6:78
فَلَمَّا
falamma
When
رَءَا
raa
he saw
ٱلشَّمۡسَ
al-shamsa
the sun
بَازِغَةٗ
bazighatan
rising
قَالَ
qala
he said
هَٰذَا
hadha
This (is)
رَبِّي
rabbi
my Lord
هَٰذَآ
hadha
this (is)
أَكۡبَرُۖ
akbaru
greater
فَلَمَّآ
falamma
But when
أَفَلَتۡ
afalat
it set
قَالَ
qala
he said
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaqawmi
O my people
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed I am
بَرِيٓءٞ
barion
free
مِّمَّا
mimma
of what
تُشۡرِكُونَ
tush'rikuna
you associate (with Allah)
٧٨
6:79
إِنِّي
inni
Indeed I
وَجَّهۡتُ
wajjahtu
[I] have turned
وَجۡهِيَ
wajhiya
my face
لِلَّذِي
lilladhi
to the One Who
فَطَرَ
fatara
created
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-arda
and the earth
حَنِيفٗاۖ
hanifan
(as) a true monotheist
وَمَآ
wama
and not
أَنَا۠
ana
I (am)
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ
al-mush'rikina
the polytheists
٧٩
6:80
وَحَآجَّهُۥ
wahajjahu
And argued with him
قَوۡمُهُۥۚ
qawmuhu
his people
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّي
atuhajjunni
Do you argue with me
فِي
fi
concerning
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
وَقَدۡ
waqad
while certainly
هَدَىٰنِۚ
hadani
He has guided me
وَلَآ
wala
And not
أَخَافُ
akhafu
(do) I fear
مَا
ma
what
تُشۡرِكُونَ
tush'rikuna
you associate
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
with Him
إِلَّآ
illa
unless
أَن
an
[that]
يَشَآءَ
yashaa
wills
رَبِّي
rabbi
my Lord
شَيۡـٔٗاۚ
shayan
anything
وَسِعَ
wasi'a
Encompasses
رَبِّي
rabbi
my Lord
كُلَّ
kulla
every
شَيۡءٍ
shayin
thing
عِلۡمًاۚ
il'man
(in) knowledge
أَفَلَا
afala
Then will not
تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
tatadhakkaruna
you take heed
٨٠
6:81
وَكَيۡفَ
wakayfa
And how
أَخَافُ
akhafu
could I fear
مَآ
ma
what
أَشۡرَكۡتُمۡ
ashraktum
you associate (with Allah)
وَلَا
wala
while not
تَخَافُونَ
takhafuna
you fear
أَنَّكُمۡ
annakum
that you
أَشۡرَكۡتُم
ashraktum
have associated
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
with Allah
مَا
ma
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
يُنَزِّلۡ
yunazzil
did He send down
بِهِۦ
bihi
for it
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
to you
سُلۡطَٰنٗاۚ
sul'tanan
any authority
فَأَيُّ
fa-ayyu
So which
ٱلۡفَرِيقَيۡنِ
al-fariqayni
(of) the two parties
أَحَقُّ
ahaqqu
has more right
بِٱلۡأَمۡنِۖ
bil-amni
to security
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you
تَعۡلَمُونَ
ta'lamuna
know
٨١

6:82
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believed
وَلَمۡ
walam
and (did) not
يَلۡبِسُوٓاْ
yalbisu
mix
إِيمَٰنَهُم
imanahum
their belief
بِظُلۡمٍ
bizul'min
with wrong
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
those
لَهُمُ
lahumu
for them
ٱلۡأَمۡنُ
al-amnu
(is) the security
وَهُم
wahum
and they
مُّهۡتَدُونَ
muh'taduna
(are) rightly guided
٨٢
6:83
وَتِلۡكَ
watil'ka
And this
حُجَّتُنَآ
hujjatuna
(is) Our argument
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهَآ
ataynaha
We gave it
إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rahima
(to) Ibrahim
عَلَىٰ
ala
against
قَوۡمِهِۦۚ
qawmihi
his people
نَرۡفَعُ
narfa'u
We raise
دَرَجَٰتٖ
darajatin
(by) degrees
مَّن
man
whom
نَّشَآءُۗ
nashau
We will
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
حَكِيمٌ
hakimun
(is) All-Wise
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
All-Knowing
٨٣
6:84
وَوَهَبۡنَا
wawahabna
And We bestowed
لَهُۥٓ
lahu
to him
إِسۡحَٰقَ
is'haqa
Isaac
وَيَعۡقُوبَۚ
waya'quba
and Yaqub
كُلًّا
kullan
all
هَدَيۡنَاۚ
hadayna
We guided
وَنُوحًا
wanuhan
And Nuh
هَدَيۡنَا
hadayna
We guided
مِن
min
from
قَبۡلُۖ
qablu
before
وَمِن
wamin
and of
ذُرِّيَّتِهِۦ
dhurriyyatihi
his descendents
دَاوُۥدَ
dawuda
Dawood
وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَ
wasulaymana
and Sulaiman
وَأَيُّوبَ
wa-ayyuba
and Ayyub
وَيُوسُفَ
wayusufa
and Yusuf
وَمُوسَىٰ
wamusa
and Musa
وَهَٰرُونَۚ
waharuna
and Harun
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhalika
And thus
نَجۡزِي
najzi
We reward
ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
al-muh'sinina
the good-doers
٨٤
6:85
وَزَكَرِيَّا
wazakariyya
And Zakariya
وَيَحۡيَىٰ
wayahya
and Yahya
وَعِيسَىٰ
wa'isa
and Isa
وَإِلۡيَاسَۖ
wa-il'yasa
and Elijah
كُلّٞ
kullun
all (were)
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
al-salihina
the righteous
٨٥
6:86
وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ
wa-is'ma'ila
And Ishmael
وَٱلۡيَسَعَ
wal-yasa'a
and Elisha
وَيُونُسَ
wayunusa
and Yunus
وَلُوطٗاۚ
walutan
and Lut
وَكُلّٗا
wakullan
and all
فَضَّلۡنَا
faddalna
We preferred
عَلَى
ala
over
ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
al-'alamina
the worlds
٨٦
6:87
وَمِنۡ
wamin
And from
ءَابَآئِهِمۡ
abaihim
their fathers
وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمۡ
wadhurriyyatihim
and their descendents
وَإِخۡوَٰنِهِمۡۖ
wa-ikh'wanihim
and their brothers
وَٱجۡتَبَيۡنَٰهُمۡ
wa-ij'tabaynahum
and We chose them
وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ
wahadaynahum
and We guided them
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
صِرَٰطٖ
siratin
a path
مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
mus'taqimin
straight
٨٧
6:88
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
That
هُدَى
huda
(is the) Guidance
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
He guides
بِهِۦ
bihi
with it
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
مِنۡ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦۚ
ibadihi
His slaves
وَلَوۡ
walaw
But if
أَشۡرَكُواْ
ashraku
they (had) associated partners (with Allah)
لَحَبِطَ
lahabita
surely (would be) worthless
عَنۡهُم
anhum
for them
مَّا
ma
what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
يَعۡمَلُونَ
ya'maluna
do
٨٨
6:89
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
(are) ones whom
ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمُ
ataynahumu
We gave them
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
وَٱلۡحُكۡمَ
wal-huk'ma
and the judgment
وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَۚ
wal-nubuwata
and the Prophethood
فَإِن
fa-in
But if
يَكۡفُرۡ
yakfur
disbelieve
بِهَا
biha
in it
هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ
haulai
these
فَقَدۡ
faqad
then indeed
وَكَّلۡنَا
wakkalna
We have entrusted
بِهَا
biha
it
قَوۡمٗا
qawman
(to) a people
لَّيۡسُواْ
laysu
who are not
بِهَا
biha
therein
بِكَٰفِرِينَ
bikafirina
disbelievers
٨٩
6:90
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
(are) ones whom
هَدَى
hada
(have been) guided
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
(by) Allah
فَبِهُدَىٰهُمُ
fabihudahumu
so of their guidance
ٱقۡتَدِهۡۗ
iq'tadih
you follow
قُل
qul
Say
لَّآ
la
Not
أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ
asalukum
I ask you
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
for it
أَجۡرًاۖ
ajran
any reward
إِنۡ
in
Not
هُوَ
huwa
(is) it
إِلَّا
illa
but
ذِكۡرَىٰ
dhik'ra
a reminder
لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
lil'alamina
for the worlds
٩٠

6:91
وَمَا
wama
And not
قَدَرُواْ
qadaru
they appraised
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
حَقَّ
haqqa
(with) true
قَدۡرِهِۦٓ
qadrihi
[of his] appraisal
إِذۡ
idh
when
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
مَآ
ma
Not
أَنزَلَ
anzala
revealed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
(by) Allah
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
بَشَرٖ
basharin
a human being
مِّن
min
[of]
شَيۡءٖۗ
shayin
anything
قُلۡ
qul
Say
مَنۡ
man
Who
أَنزَلَ
anzala
revealed
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
which
جَآءَ
jaa
brought
بِهِۦ
bihi
[it]
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
نُورٗا
nuran
(as) a light
وَهُدٗى
wahudan
and guidance
لِّلنَّاسِۖ
lilnnasi
for the people
تَجۡعَلُونَهُۥ
taj'alunahu
You make it
قَرَاطِيسَ
qaratisa
(into) parchments
تُبۡدُونَهَا
tub'dunaha
you disclose (some of) it
وَتُخۡفُونَ
watukh'funa
and you conceal
كَثِيرٗاۖ
kathiran
much (of it)
وَعُلِّمۡتُم
wa'ullim'tum
And you were taught
مَّا
ma
what
لَمۡ
lam
not
تَعۡلَمُوٓاْ
ta'lamu
knew
أَنتُمۡ
antum
you
وَلَآ
wala
and not
ءَابَآؤُكُمۡۖ
abaukum
your forefathers
قُلِ
quli
Say
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah (revealed it)
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
ذَرۡهُمۡ
dharhum
leave them
فِي
fi
in
خَوۡضِهِمۡ
khawdihim
their discourse
يَلۡعَبُونَ
yal'abuna
playing
٩١
6:92
وَهَٰذَا
wahadha
And this
كِتَٰبٌ
kitabun
(is) a Book
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ
anzalnahu
We have revealed it
مُبَارَكٞ
mubarakun
blessed
مُّصَدِّقُ
musaddiqu
confirming
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
which
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(came) before
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
its hands
وَلِتُنذِرَ
walitundhira
so that you may warn
أُمَّ
umma
(the) mother
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
al-qura
(of) the cities
وَمَنۡ
waman
and who
حَوۡلَهَاۚ
hawlaha
(are) around it
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yu'minuna
believe
بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ
bil-akhirati
in the Hereafter
يُؤۡمِنُونَ
yu'minuna
they believe
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
in it
وَهُمۡ
wahum
and they
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
salatihim
their prayers
يُحَافِظُونَ
yuhafizuna
(are) guarding
٩٢
6:93
وَمَنۡ
waman
And who
أَظۡلَمُ
azlamu
(is) more unjust
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (one) who
ٱفۡتَرَىٰ
if'tara
invents
عَلَى
ala
about
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
كَذِبًا
kadhiban
a lie
أَوۡ
aw
or
قَالَ
qala
said
أُوحِيَ
uhiya
It has been inspired
إِلَيَّ
ilayya
to me
وَلَمۡ
walam
while not
يُوحَ
yuha
it was inspired
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to him
شَيۡءٞ
shayon
anything
وَمَن
waman
and (one) who
قَالَ
qala
said
سَأُنزِلُ
sa-unzilu
I will reveal
مِثۡلَ
mith'la
like
مَآ
ma
what
أَنزَلَ
anzala
(has been) revealed
ٱللَّهُۗ
al-lahu
(by) Allah
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
تَرَىٰٓ
tara
you (could) see
إِذِ
idhi
when
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
al-zalimuna
the wrongdoers
فِي
fi
(are) in
غَمَرَٰتِ
ghamarati
agonies
ٱلۡمَوۡتِ
al-mawti
(of) [the] death
وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
wal-malaikatu
while the Angels
بَاسِطُوٓاْ
basitu
(are) stretching out
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
aydihim
their hands (saying)
أَخۡرِجُوٓاْ
akhriju
Discharge
أَنفُسَكُمُۖ
anfusakumu
your souls
ٱلۡيَوۡمَ
al-yawma
Today
تُجۡزَوۡنَ
tuj'zawna
you will be recompensed
عَذَابَ
adhaba
(with) punishment
ٱلۡهُونِ
al-huni
humiliating
بِمَا
bima
because
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you used to
تَقُولُونَ
taquluna
say
عَلَى
ala
against
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
غَيۡرَ
ghayra
other than
ٱلۡحَقِّ
al-haqi
the truth
وَكُنتُمۡ
wakuntum
and you were
عَنۡ
an
towards
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
ayatihi
His Verses
تَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ
tastakbiruna
being arrogant
٩٣
6:94
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
جِئۡتُمُونَا
ji'tumuna
you have come to Us
فُرَٰدَىٰ
furada
alone
كَمَا
kama
as
خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ
khalaqnakum
We created you
أَوَّلَ
awwala
(the) first
مَرَّةٖ
marratin
time
وَتَرَكۡتُم
wataraktum
and you have left
مَّا
ma
whatever
خَوَّلۡنَٰكُمۡ
khawwalnakum
We bestowed (on) you
وَرَآءَ
waraa
behind
ظُهُورِكُمۡۖ
zuhurikum
your backs
وَمَا
wama
And not
نَرَىٰ
nara
We see
مَعَكُمۡ
ma'akum
with you
شُفَعَآءَكُمُ
shufa'aakumu
your intercessors
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those whom
زَعَمۡتُمۡ
za'amtum
you claimed
أَنَّهُمۡ
annahum
that they (were)
فِيكُمۡ
fikum
in your (matters)
شُرَكَٰٓؤُاْۚ
shurakau
partners (with Allah)
لَقَد
laqad
Indeed
تَّقَطَّعَ
taqatta'a
have been severed (bonds)
بَيۡنَكُمۡ
baynakum
between you
وَضَلَّ
wadalla
and is lost
عَنكُم
ankum
from you
مَّا
ma
what
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you used to
تَزۡعُمُونَ
taz'umuna
claim
٩٤
