3:93

۞كُلُّ

Kulluṭ

All

ٱلطَّعَامِ

ṭaʻaami

[the] food

كَانَ

kaana

was

حِلّٗا

ḥillal

lawful

لِّبَنِيٓ

li-Baneee

for (the) Children

إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ

ʹIsraaaʹeela

(of) Israel

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

مَا

maa-

what

حَرَّمَ

ḥarrama

made unlawful

إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلُ

ʹIsraaaʹeelu

Israel

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

upon

نَفۡسِهِۦ

nafsihee

himself

مِن

miñ

from

قَبۡلِ

q̣abli

before

أَن

ʹañ

[that]

تُنَزَّلَ

tunazzalat

(was) revealed

ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةُۚ

Tawraah.

the Taurat

قُلۡ

Q̣ul

Say

فَأۡتُواْ

faʹtoo

So bring

بِٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ

bit-Tawraati

the Taurat

فَٱتۡلُوهَآ

fatloohaaa

and recite it

إِن

ʹiñ

كُنتُمۡ

kuñtum

you are

صَٰدِقِينَ

ṣaadiq̣een.

truthful

٩٣

3:94

فَمَنِ

Famanif

Then whoever

ٱفۡتَرَىٰ

taraa

fabricates

عَلَى

ʻalal

about

ٱللَّهِ

laahil

Allah

ٱلۡكَذِبَ

kaẓiba

[the] lie

مِنۢ

mim

from

بَعۡدِ

baʻdi

after

ذَٰلِكَ

ẓaalika

that

فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

faʹulaaaʹika

then those

هُمُ

humuz̤̣

they

ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

z̤̣aalimoon.

(are) the wrongdoers

٩٤

3:95

قُلۡ

Q̣ul

Say

صَدَقَ

ṣadaq̣al

(has) spoken the truth

ٱللَّهُۗ

laah:

Allah

فَٱتَّبِعُواْ

fattabiʻoo

then follow

مِلَّةَ

Millata

(the) religion

إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

ʹIbraaheema

(of) Ibrahim

حَنِيفٗاۖ

ḥaneefaa;

(the) upright

وَمَا

wa-maa

and not

كَانَ

kaana

he was

مِنَ

minal

ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

mushrikeen.

the polytheists

٩٥

3:96

إِنَّ

ʹInna

Indeed

أَوَّلَ

ʹAwwala

(the) First

بَيۡتٖ

Baytiñw

House

وُضِعَ

wuḍiʻa

set up

لِلنَّاسِ

linnaasi

for the mankind

لَلَّذِي

lallaḍee

(is) the one which

بِبَكَّةَ

bi-Bakkata

(is) at Bakkah

مُبَارَكٗا

mubaarakañw

blessed

وَهُدٗى

wahudal

and a guidance

لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

lil-ʻaalameen:

for the worlds

٩٦

3:97

فِيهِ

Feehi

In it

ءَايَٰتُۢ

ʹAayaatum

(are) signs

بَيِّنَٰتٞ

Bayyinaatum

clear

مَّقَامُ

Maq̣aamu

standing place

إِبۡرَٰهِيمَۖ

ʹIbraaheema;

(of) Ibrahim

وَمَن

wa-mañ

and whoever

دَخَلَهُۥ

dakhalahoo

enters it

كَانَ

kaana

ءَامِنٗاۗ

ʹaaminaa.

safe

وَلِلَّهِ

Wa-lillaahi

And (due) to Allah

عَلَى

ʻalan

upon

ٱلنَّاسِ

naasi

the mankind

حِجُّ

Ḥijjul

(is) pilgrimage

ٱلۡبَيۡتِ

Bayti

(of) the House

مَنِ

manis

(for one) who

ٱسۡتَطَاعَ

taṭaaʻa

is able

إِلَيۡهِ

ʹilayhi

to [it]

سَبِيلٗاۚ

sabeelaa.

(find) a way

وَمَن

Wa-mañ

And whoever

كَفَرَ

kafara

disbelieved

فَإِنَّ

faʹinnal

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

غَنِيٌّ

G̣aniyyun

(is) free from need

عَنِ

ʻanil

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

ʻaalameen.

the universe

٩٧

3:98

قُلۡ

Q̣ul

Say

يَٰٓأَهۡلَ

yaaaʹAhlal

O People

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

Kitaabi

(of) the Book

لِمَ

lima

Why

تَكۡفُرُونَ

takfuroona

(do) you disbelieve

بِـَٔايَٰتِ

biʹAayaatil

in (the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

while Allah

شَهِيدٌ

Shaheedun

(is) a Witness

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

over

مَا

maa-

what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

taʻmaloon?

you do

٩٨

3:99

قُلۡ

Q̣ul

Say

يَٰٓأَهۡلَ

yaaaʹAhlal

O People

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

Kitaabi

(of) the Book

لِمَ

lima

Why

تَصُدُّونَ

taṣuddoona

(do) you hinder

عَن

ʻañ

from

سَبِيلِ

Sabeelil

(the) way

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

مَنۡ

man

(those) who

ءَامَنَ

ʹaamana

believe[d]

تَبۡغُونَهَا

tab-g̣oo-nahaa

seeking (to make) it

عِوَجٗا

ʻiwajañw

(seem) crooked

وَأَنتُمۡ

waʹañtum

while you

شُهَدَآءُۗ

shuhadaaaʹ?

(are) witnesses

وَمَا

Wa-mal

And not

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

بِغَٰفِلٍ

big̣aafilin

(is) unaware

عَمَّا

ʻammaa

of what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

taʻmaloon.

you do

٩٩

3:100

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

Yaaaʹayyuhal

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

who

ءَامَنُوٓاْ

ʹaamanooo

believe[d]

إِن

ʹiñ

تُطِيعُواْ

tuṭeeʻoo

you obey

فَرِيقٗا

fareeq̣am

a group

مِّنَ

minal

from

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

أُوتُواْ

ʹootul

were given

ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ

Kitaaba

the Book

يَرُدُّوكُم

yaruddookum̃

they will turn you back

بَعۡدَ

baʻda

after

إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ

ʹeemaanikum

your belief

كَٰفِرِينَ

kaafireen.

(as) disbelievers

١٠٠

Page 63

3:101

وَكَيۡفَ

Wa-kayfa

And how (could)

تَكۡفُرُونَ

takfuroona

you disbelieve

وَأَنتُمۡ

wa-ʹañtum

while [you]

تُتۡلَىٰ

tutlaa

is recited

عَلَيۡكُمۡ

ʻalaykum

upon you

ءَايَٰتُ

ʹAayaatul

(the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

وَفِيكُمۡ

wa-feekum

and among you

رَسُولُهُۥۗ

Rasooluh?

(is) His Messenger

وَمَن

Wa-mañy

And whoever

يَعۡتَصِم

yaʻtaṣim̃

holds firmly

بِٱللَّهِ

bil-laahi

to Allah

فَقَدۡ

faq̣ad

then surely

هُدِيَ

hudiya

he is guided

إِلَىٰ

ʹilaa

صِرَٰطٖ

Ṣiraaṭim

a path

مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ

Mustaq̣eem.

straight

١٠١

3:102

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

Yaaaʹayyuhal

O you

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

who

ءَامَنُواْ

ʹaamanut

believe[d]

ٱتَّقُواْ

taq̣ul

Fear

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

حَقَّ

ḥaq̣q̣a

(as is His) right

تُقَاتِهِۦ

tuq̣aatihee

(that) He (should) be feared

وَلَا

wa-laa

and (do) not

تَمُوتُنَّ

tamootunna

die

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

وَأَنتُم

wa-ʹañtum

[while you]

مُّسۡلِمُونَ

Muslimoon.

(as) Muslims

١٠٢

3:103

وَٱعۡتَصِمُواْ

Waʻtaṣimoo

And hold firmly

بِحَبۡلِ

bi-Ḥablil

to (the) rope

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

جَمِيعٗا

jameeʻañw

all together

وَلَا

walaa

and (do) not

تَفَرَّقُواْۚ

tafarraq̣oo.

be divided

وَٱذۡكُرُواْ

Waẓkuroo

And remember

نِعۡمَتَ

niʻmatal

(the) Favor

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

عَلَيۡكُمۡ

ʻalaykum

on you

إِذۡ

ʹiẓ

when

كُنتُمۡ

kuñtum

you were

أَعۡدَآءٗ

ʹaʻdaaaʹañ

enemies

فَأَلَّفَ

faʹallafa

then He made friendship

بَيۡنَ

bayna

between

قُلُوبِكُمۡ

q̣uloobikum

your hearts

فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم

faʹaṣbaḥtum̃

then you became

بِنِعۡمَتِهِۦٓ

biniʻmatiheee

by His Favor

إِخۡوَٰنٗا

ʹikhwaanaa;

brothers

وَكُنتُمۡ

wa-kuñtum

And you were

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

شَفَا

shafaa

(the) brink

حُفۡرَةٖ

ḥufratim

(of) pit

مِّنَ

minan

ٱلنَّارِ

naari

the Fire

فَأَنقَذَكُم

faʹañq̣aẓakum

then He saved you

مِّنۡهَاۗ

minhaa.

from it

كَذَٰلِكَ

Kaẓaalika

Thus

يُبَيِّنُ

yubayyinul

makes clear

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

ءَايَٰتِهِۦ

ʹAayaatihee

His Verses

لَعَلَّكُمۡ

laʻallakum

so that you may

تَهۡتَدُونَ

tahtadoon.

(be) guided

١٠٣

3:104

وَلۡتَكُن

Waltakum

And let there be

مِّنكُمۡ

miñkum

among you

أُمَّةٞ

ʹUmmatuñy

[a] people

يَدۡعُونَ

yadʻoona

inviting

إِلَى

ʹilal

ٱلۡخَيۡرِ

khayri

the good

وَيَأۡمُرُونَ

wa-yaʹmuroona

[and] enjoining

بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

bil-maʻroofi

the right

وَيَنۡهَوۡنَ

wa-yan-hawna

and forbidding

عَنِ

ʻanil

from

ٱلۡمُنكَرِۚ

muñkar:

the wrong

وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

wa-ʹulaaaʹika

and those

هُمُ

humul

they

ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

mufliḥoon.

(are) the successful ones

١٠٤

3:105

وَلَا

Wa-laa

And (do) not

تَكُونُواْ

takoonoo

كَٱلَّذِينَ

kallaẓeena

like those who

تَفَرَّقُواْ

tafarraq̣oo

became divided

وَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ

wakhtalafoo

and differed

مِنۢ

mim

from

بَعۡدِ

baʻdi

after

مَا

maa-

what

جَآءَهُمُ

jaaaʹahumul

came to them

ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُۚ

Bayyinaat:

the clear proofs

وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

wa-ʹulaaʹika

And those

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

عَذَابٌ

ʻa-Z̤̣aabun

(is) a punishment

عَظِيمٞ

ʻaz̤̣eem.

١٠٥

3:106

يَوۡمَ

Yawma

(On the) Day

تَبۡيَضُّ

tabyaḍḍu

would become white

وُجُوهٞ

wujoohuñw

(some) faces

وَتَسۡوَدُّ

wataswaddu

and would become black

وُجُوهٞۚ

wujooh:

(some) faces

فَأَمَّا

faʹammal

As for

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeenas

those whose

ٱسۡوَدَّتۡ

waddat

turn black

وُجُوهُهُمۡ

wujoohum:

[their] faces

أَكَفَرۡتُم

ʹakafartum̃

Did you disbelieve

بَعۡدَ

baʻda

after

إِيمَٰنِكُمۡ

ʹeemaanikum

your belief

فَذُوقُواْ

faẓooq̣ul

Then taste

ٱلۡعَذَابَ

ʻaẓaaba

the punishment

بِمَا

bimaa

for what

كُنتُمۡ

kuñtum

you used to

تَكۡفُرُونَ

takfuroon?

disbelieve

١٠٦

3:107

وَأَمَّا

Wa-ʹammal

But as for

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeenab

those whose

ٱبۡيَضَّتۡ

biyaḍḍat

turn white

وُجُوهُهُمۡ

wujoohuhum

[their] faces

فَفِي

fafee

then (they will be) in

رَحۡمَةِ

raḥmatil

(the) Mercy

ٱللَّهِۖ

laah:

(of) Allah

هُمۡ

hum

they

فِيهَا

feehaa

in it

خَٰلِدُونَ

khaalidoon.

(will) abide forever

١٠٧

3:108

تِلۡكَ

Tilka

These

ءَايَٰتُ

ʹAayaatul

(are the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

نَتۡلُوهَا

natloohaa

We recite them

عَلَيۡكَ

ʻalayka

to you

بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ

bil-Ḥaq̣q̣.

in truth

وَمَا

Wa-mal

And not

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

يُرِيدُ

yureedu

wants

ظُلۡمٗا

z̤̣ulmal

injustice

لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

lilʻaalameen.

to the worlds

١٠٨

Page 64

3:109

وَلِلَّهِ

Walillaahi

And to Allah (belongs)

مَا

maa-

whatever

فِي

fis

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَمَا

wa-maa

and whatever

فِي

fil

(is) in

ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ

ʹarḍ:

the earth

وَإِلَى

wa-ʹilal

And to

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

Allah

تُرۡجَعُ

turjaʻul

will be returned

ٱلۡأُمُورُ

ʹumoor.

the matters

١٠٩

3:110

كُنتُمۡ

Kuñtum

You are

خَيۡرَ

khayra

(the) best

أُمَّةٍ

ʹummatin

(of) people

أُخۡرِجَتۡ

ʹukhrijat

raised

لِلنَّاسِ

linnaasi

for the mankind

تَأۡمُرُونَ

taʹmuroona

enjoining

بِٱلۡمَعۡرُوفِ

bilmaʻroofi

the right

وَتَنۡهَوۡنَ

wa-tanhawna

and forbidding

عَنِ

ʻanil

[from]

ٱلۡمُنكَرِ

muñkari

the wrong

وَتُؤۡمِنُونَ

wa-tuʹminoona

and believing

بِٱللَّهِۗ

billaah.

in Allah

وَلَوۡ

Wa-law

And if

ءَامَنَ

ʹaamana

believed

أَهۡلُ

ʹAhlul

(the) People

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

Kitaabi

(of) the Book

لَكَانَ

lakaana

surely would have been

خَيۡرٗا

khayral

good

لَّهُمۚ

lahum:

for them

مِّنۡهُمُ

minhumul

Among them

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

muʹminoona

(are) [the] believers

وَأَكۡثَرُهُمُ

wa-ʹaks̤aru-humul

but most of them

ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

faasiq̣oon.

(are) defiantly disobedient

١١٠

3:111

لَن

Lañy

Never

يَضُرُّوكُمۡ

yaḍurrookum

will they harm you

إِلَّآ

ʹillaaa

except

أَذٗىۖ

ʹaẓaaa;

a hurt

وَإِن

wa-ʹiñy

And if

يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ

yuq̣aatilookum

they fight you

يُوَلُّوكُمُ

yuwal-lookumul

they will turn (towards) you

ٱلۡأَدۡبَارَ

ʹadbaar.

the backs

ثُمَّ

S̤umma

then

لَا

laa-

not

يُنصَرُونَ

yuñṣaroon.

they will be helped

١١١

3:112

ضُرِبَتۡ

Ḍuribat

Struck

عَلَيۡهِمُ

ʻalayhimuẓ

on them

ٱلذِّلَّةُ

ẓillatu

the humiliation

أَيۡنَ

ʹayna

wherever

مَا

maa-

that

ثُقِفُوٓاْ

s̤uq̣ifooo

they are found

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

بِحَبۡلٖ

bi-Ḥablim

with a rope

مِّنَ

minal

from

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

Allah

وَحَبۡلٖ

wa-Ḥablim

and a rope

مِّنَ

minan

from

ٱلنَّاسِ

naasi

the people

وَبَآءُو

wa-baaaʹoo

And they incurred

بِغَضَبٖ

big̣aḍabim

wrath

مِّنَ

minal

from

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

Allah

وَضُرِبَتۡ

wa-ḍuribat

and struck

عَلَيۡهِمُ

ʻalayhimul

on them

ٱلۡمَسۡكَنَةُۚ

maskanah.

the poverty

ذَٰلِكَ

Ẓaalika

That

بِأَنَّهُمۡ

biʹannahum

(is) because

كَانُواْ

kaanoo

they used to

يَكۡفُرُونَ

yakfuroona

disbelieve

بِـَٔايَٰتِ

biʹAayaatil

in (the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

وَيَقۡتُلُونَ

wa-yaq̣tuloonal

and they killed

ٱلۡأَنۢبِيَآءَ

ʹambiyaaaʹa

the Prophets

بِغَيۡرِ

big̣ayri

without

حَقّٖۚ

ḥaq̣q̣;

right

ذَٰلِكَ

ẓaalika

That

بِمَا

bimaa

(is) because

عَصَواْ

ʻaṣaw

they disobeyed

وَّكَانُواْ

Wakaanoo

and they used to

يَعۡتَدُونَ

yaʻtadoon.

transgress
