۞إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ
al-insana
the man
خُلِقَ
khuliqa
was created
هَلُوعًا
halu'an
anxious

One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)
70:20
إِذَا
idha
When
مَسَّهُ
massahu
touches him
ٱلشَّرُّ
al-sharu
the evil
جَزُوعٗا
jazu'an
distressed
٢٠
70:21
وَإِذَا
wa-idha
And when
مَسَّهُ
massahu
touches him
ٱلۡخَيۡرُ
al-khayru
the good
مَنُوعًا
manu'an
withholding
٢١
70:22
إِلَّا
illa
Except
ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ
al-musalina
those who pray
٢٢
70:23
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
عَلَىٰ
ala
at
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
salatihim
their prayer
دَآئِمُونَ
daimuna
(are) constant
٢٣
70:24
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
فِيٓ
fi
in
أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡ
amwalihim
their wealth
حَقّٞ
haqqun
(is) a right
مَّعۡلُومٞ
ma'lumun
known
٢٤
70:25
لِّلسَّآئِلِ
lilssaili
For the one who asks
وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ
wal-mahrumi
and the deprived
٢٥
70:26
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
يُصَدِّقُونَ
yusaddiquna
accept (the) truth
بِيَوۡمِ
biyawmi
(of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
al-dini
(of) the Judgment
٢٦
70:27
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هُم
hum
[they]
مِّنۡ
min
of
عَذَابِ
adhabi
(the) punishment
رَبِّهِم
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
مُّشۡفِقُونَ
mush'fiquna
(are) fearful
٢٧
70:28
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
عَذَابَ
adhaba
(the) punishment
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
(of) your Lord
غَيۡرُ
ghayru
(is) not
مَأۡمُونٖ
mamunin
to be felt secure (of)
٢٨
70:29
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ
lifurujihim
their modesty
حَٰفِظُونَ
hafizuna
(are) guardians
٢٩
70:30
إِلَّا
illa
Except
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
from
أَزۡوَٰجِهِمۡ
azwajihim
their spouses
أَوۡ
aw
or
مَا
ma
what
مَلَكَتۡ
malakat
they possess
أَيۡمَٰنُهُمۡ
aymanuhum
rightfully
فَإِنَّهُمۡ
fa-innahum
then indeed they
غَيۡرُ
ghayru
(are) not
مَلُومِينَ
malumina
blameworthy
٣٠
70:31
فَمَنِ
famani
But whoever
ٱبۡتَغَىٰ
ib'tagha
seeks
وَرَآءَ
waraa
beyond
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
fa-ulaika
then those
هُمُ
humu
[they]
ٱلۡعَادُونَ
al-'aduna
(are) the transgressors
٣١
70:32
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمۡ
li-amanatihim
of their trusts
وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ
wa'ahdihim
and their promise
رَٰعُونَ
ra'una
(are) observers
٣٢
70:33
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هُم
hum
[they]
بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمۡ
bishahadatihim
in their testimonies
قَآئِمُونَ
qaimuna
stand firm
٣٣
70:34
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
هُمۡ
hum
[they]
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
صَلَاتِهِمۡ
salatihim
their prayer
يُحَافِظُونَ
yuhafizuna
keep a guard
٣٤
70:35
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
فِي
fi
(will be) in
جَنَّٰتٖ
jannatin
Gardens
مُّكۡرَمُونَ
muk'ramuna
honored
٣٥
70:36
فَمَالِ
famali
So what is with
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieve
قِبَلَكَ
qibalaka
before you
مُهۡطِعِينَ
muh'ti'ina
(they) hasten
٣٦
70:37
عَنِ
ani
On
ٱلۡيَمِينِ
al-yamini
the right
وَعَنِ
wa'ani
and on
ٱلشِّمَالِ
al-shimali
the left
عِزِينَ
izina
(in) separate groups
٣٧
70:38
أَيَطۡمَعُ
ayatma'u
Does long
كُلُّ
kullu
every
ٱمۡرِيٕٖ
im'ri-in
person
مِّنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
among them
أَن
an
that
يُدۡخَلَ
yud'khala
he enters
جَنَّةَ
jannata
a Garden
نَعِيمٖ
na'imin
(of) Delight
٣٨
70:39
كـَلَّآۖ
kalla
By no means
إِنَّا
inna
Indeed We
خَلَقۡنَٰهُم
khalaqnahum
[We] have created them
مِّمَّا
mimma
from what
يَعۡلَمُونَ
ya'lamuna
they know
٣٩

فَلَآ
fala
But nay
أُقۡسِمُ
uq'simu
I swear
بِرَبِّ
birabbi
by (the) Lord
ٱلۡمَشَٰرِقِ
al-mashariqi
(of) the risings
وَٱلۡمَغَٰرِبِ
wal-magharibi
and the settings
إِنَّا
inna
that We
لَقَٰدِرُونَ
laqadiruna
(are) surely Able
٤٠
70:41
عَلَىٰٓ
ala
[On]
أَن
an
to
نُّبَدِّلَ
nubaddila
[We] replace
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
(with) better
مِّنۡهُمۡ
min'hum
than them
وَمَا
wama
and not
نَحۡنُ
nahnu
We
بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
bimasbuqina
(are) to be outrun

70:42
فَذَرۡهُمۡ
fadharhum
So leave them
يَخُوضُواْ
yakhudu
(to) converse vainly
وَيَلۡعَبُواْ
wayal'abu
and amuse themselves
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
يُلَٰقُواْ
yulaqu
they meet
يَوۡمَهُمُ
yawmahumu
their Day
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
which
يُوعَدُونَ
yu'aduna
they are promised
٤٢
70:43
يَوۡمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يَخۡرُجُونَ
yakhrujuna
they will come out
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ
al-ajdathi
the graves
سِرَاعٗا
sira'an
rapidly
كَأَنَّهُمۡ
ka-annahum
as if they (were)
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
نُصُبٖ
nusubin
a goal
يُوفِضُونَ
yufiduna
hastening
