One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

63:4

۞وَإِذَا

Wa-ʹiẓaa

And when

رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ

raʹaytahum

you see them

تُعۡجِبُكَ

tuʻjibuka

pleases you

أَجۡسَامُهُمۡۖ

ʹajsaamuhum;

their bodies

وَإِن

wa-ʹiñy

and if

يَقُولُواْ

yaq̣ooloo

they speak

تَسۡمَعۡ

tasmaʻ

you listen

لِقَوۡلِهِمۡۖ

liq̣awlihim:

to their speech

كَأَنَّهُمۡ

Kaʹannahum

as if they (were)

خُشُبٞ

khushubum

pieces of wood

مُّسَنَّدَةٞۖ

musannadah.

propped up

يَحۡسَبُونَ

Yaḥsaboona

They think

كُلَّ

kulla

every

صَيۡحَةٍ

ṣayḥatin

shout

عَلَيۡهِمۡۚ

ʻalayhim.

(is) against them

هُمُ

Humul

They

ٱلۡعَدُوُّ

ʻaduwwu

(are) the enemy

فَٱحۡذَرۡهُمۡۚ

faḥẓarhum.

so beware of them

قَٰتَلَهُمُ

Q̣aatalahumul

May destroy them

ٱللَّهُۖ

laah!

Allah

أَنَّىٰ

ʹAnnaa

How

يُؤۡفَكُونَ

yuʹfakoon!

are they deluded

63:5

وَإِذَا

Wa-ʹiẓaa

And when

قِيلَ

q̣eela

it is said

لَهُمۡ

lahum

to them

تَعَالَوۡاْ

taʻaalaw

Come

يَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ

yastag̣fir

will ask forgiveness

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

رَسُولُ

Rasoolul

(the) Messenger

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

لَوَّوۡاْ

lawwaw

They turn aside

رُءُوسَهُمۡ

ruʹoosahum

their heads

وَرَأَيۡتَهُمۡ

wa-raʹaytahum

and you see them

يَصُدُّونَ

yaṣuddoona

turning away

وَهُم

wa-hum

while they

مُّسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

mustakbiroon.

(are) arrogant

63:6

سَوَآءٌ

Sawaaaʹun

(It) is same

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

ʻalayhim

for them

أَسۡتَغۡفَرۡتَ

ʹastag̣farta

whether you ask forgiveness

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

أَمۡ

ʹam

لَمۡ

lam

(do) not

تَسۡتَغۡفِرۡ

tastag̣fir

ask forgiveness

لَهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

لَن

Lañy

Never

يَغۡفِرَ

yag̣firal

will forgive

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

لَهُمۡۚ

lahum.

[to] them

إِنَّ

ʹInnal

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

لَا

laa-

(does) not

يَهۡدِي

yahdil

guide

ٱلۡقَوۡمَ

q̣awmal

the people

ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ

faasiq̣een.

the defiantly disobedient

63:7

هُمُ

Humul

They

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(are) those who

يَقُولُونَ

yaq̣ooloona

say

لَا

laa-

(Do) not

تُنفِقُواْ

tuñfiq̣oo

spend

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

مَنۡ

man

(those) who

عِندَ

ʻiñda

(are) with

رَسُولِ

Rasoolil

(the) Messenger

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

حَتَّىٰ

ḥattaa

until

يَنفَضُّواْۗ

yañfaḍḍoo.

they disband

وَلِلَّهِ

Wa-lillaahi

And for Allah

خَزَآئِنُ

khazaaaʹinus

(are the) treasures

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

(of) the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

wal-ʹarḍi

and the earth

وَلَٰكِنَّ

walaakinnal

but

ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ

Munaafiq̣eena

the hypocrites

لَا

laa-

(do) not

يَفۡقَهُونَ

yafq̣ahoon.

understand

63:8

يَقُولُونَ

Yaq̣ooloona

They say

لَئِن

laʹir

رَّجَعۡنَآ

rajaʻnaaa

we return

إِلَى

ʹilal

ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ

Madeenati

Al-Madinah

لَيُخۡرِجَنَّ

layukhrijannal

surely will expel

ٱلۡأَعَزُّ

ʹaʻazzu

the more honorable

مِنۡهَا

minhal

from it

ٱلۡأَذَلَّۚ

ʹaẓall.

the more humble

وَلِلَّهِ

Wa-lillaahil

But for Allah

ٱلۡعِزَّةُ

ʻizzatu

(is) the honor

وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ

wa-li-Rasoolihee

and for His Messenger

وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

wa-lil-Muʹmineena

and for the believers

وَلَٰكِنَّ

walaakinnal

but

ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ

Munaafiq̣eena

the hypocrites

لَا

laa-

(do) not

يَعۡلَمُونَ

yaʻlamoon.

know

63:9

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

Yaaaʹayyuhal

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

you (who)

ءَامَنُواْ

ʹaamanoo

believe

لَا

laa-

(Let) not

تُلۡهِكُمۡ

tulhikum

divert you

أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ

ʹamwaalukum

your wealth

وَلَآ

wa-laaa

and not

أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ

ʹawlaadukum

your children

عَن

ʻañ-Ẓik

from

ذِكۡرِ

ril

(the) remembrance

ٱللَّهِۚ

laah.

(of) Allah

وَمَن

Wa-mañy

And whoever

يَفۡعَلۡ

yafʻal

does

ذَٰلِكَ

ẓaalika

that

فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

faʹulaaaʹika

then those

هُمُ

humul

[they]

ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ

khaasiroon.

(are) the losers

63:10

وَأَنفِقُواْ

Wa-ʹañfiq̣oo

And spend

مِن

mim

from

مَّا

maa

what

رَزَقۡنَٰكُم

razaq̣naakum

We have provided you

مِّن

miñ

from

قَبۡلِ

q̣abli

before

أَن

ʹañy

[that]

يَأۡتِيَ

yaʹtiya

comes

أَحَدَكُمُ

ʹaḥadakumul

(to) one of you

ٱلۡمَوۡتُ

Mawtu

the death

فَيَقُولَ

fayaq̣oola

and he says

رَبِّ

Rabbi

My Lord

لَوۡلَآ

Law-laaa

Why not

أَخَّرۡتَنِيٓ

ʹakhkhartaneee

You delay me

إِلَىٰٓ

ʹilaaa

for

أَجَلٖ

ʹajaliñ

a term

قَرِيبٖ

q̣areebiñ

near

فَأَصَّدَّقَ

faʹaṣṣaddaq̣a

so I would give charity

وَأَكُن

wa-ʹakum

and be

مِّنَ

minaṣ

among

ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Ṣaaliḥeen.

the righteous

١٠

63:11

وَلَن

Wa-lañy

But never

يُؤَخِّرَ

yuʹakhkhiral

will (be) delayed

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

(by) Allah

نَفۡسًا

nafsan

a soul

إِذَا

ʹiẓaa

when

جَآءَ

jaaaʹa

has come

أَجَلُهَاۚ

ʹajaluhaa;

its term

وَٱللَّهُ

Wallaahu

And Allah

خَبِيرُۢ

khabeerum

(is) All-Aware

بِمَا

bimaa

of what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

taʻmaloon.

you do

64:1

يُسَبِّحُ

Yusabbiḥu

Glorifies

لِلَّهِ

lillaahi

[to] Allah

مَا

maa-

whatever

فِي

fis

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَمَا

wa-maa

and whatever

فِي

fil

(is) in

ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ

ʹarḍ.

the earth

لَهُ

Lahul

For Him

ٱلۡمُلۡكُ

Mulku

(is the) dominion

وَلَهُ

wa-lahul

and for Him

ٱلۡحَمۡدُۖ

Ḥamd;

(is) the praise

وَهُوَ

wa-Huwa

And He

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

(is) on

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيۡءٖ

shayʹiñ

thing

قَدِيرٌ

Q̣adeer.

All-Powerful

64:2

هُوَ

Huwal

ٱلَّذِي

laẓee

(is) the One Who

خَلَقَكُمۡ

khalaq̣akum

created you

فَمِنكُمۡ

famiñkum

and among you

كَافِرٞ

kaafiruñw

(is) a disbeliever

وَمِنكُم

wamiñkum

and among you

مُّؤۡمِنٞۚ

Muʹmin.

(is) a believer

وَٱللَّهُ

Wallaahu

And Allah

بِمَا

bimaa

of what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

taʻmaloona

you do

بَصِيرٌ

Baṣeer.

(is) All-Seer

64:3

خَلَقَ

Khalaq̣as

He created

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

wal-ʹarḍa

and the earth

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bilḥaq̣q̣i

with truth

وَصَوَّرَكُمۡ

wa-ṣawwarakum

and He formed you

فَأَحۡسَنَ

faʹaḥsana

and made good

صُوَرَكُمۡۖ

ṣuwarakum,

your forms

وَإِلَيۡهِ

wa-ʹilayhil

and to Him

ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Maṣeer.

(is) the final return

64:4

يَعۡلَمُ

Yaʻlamu

He knows

مَا

maa-

what

فِي

fis

(is) in

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

wal-ʹarḍi

and the earth

وَيَعۡلَمُ

wayaʻlamu

and He knows

مَا

maa-

what

تُسِرُّونَ

tusirroona

you conceal

وَمَا

wa-maa

and what

تُعۡلِنُونَۚ

tuʻlinoon;

you declare

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

And Allah

عَلِيمُۢ

ʻAleemum

(is) All-Knowing

بِذَاتِ

biẓaatiṣ

of what

ٱلصُّدُورِ

ṣudoor.

(is in) the breasts

64:5

أَلَمۡ

ʹAlam

Has not

يَأۡتِكُمۡ

yaʹtikum

come to you

نَبَؤُاْ

nabaʹul

(the) news

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(of) those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaroo

disbelieved

مِن

miñ

from

قَبۡلُ

q̣abl?

before

فَذَاقُواْ

Faẓaaq̣oo

So they tasted

وَبَالَ

wa-baala

(the bad) consequence

أَمۡرِهِمۡ

ʹamrihim

(of) their affair

وَلَهُمۡ

wa-lahum

and for them

عَذَابٌ

ʻaẓaabun

(is) a punishment

أَلِيمٞ

ʹaleem.

painful

64:6

ذَٰلِكَ

Ẓaalika

That

بِأَنَّهُۥ

biʹannahoo

(is) because

كَانَت

kaanat

had

تَّأۡتِيهِمۡ

taʹteehim

come to them

رُسُلُهُم

rusuluhum̃

their Messengers

بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ

bil-Bayyinaati

with clear proofs

فَقَالُوٓاْ

faq̣aalooo

but they said

أَبَشَرٞ

ʹa-basharuñy

Shall human beings

يَهۡدُونَنَا

yahdoonanaa?

guide us

فَكَفَرُواْ

Fakafaroo

So they disbelieved

وَتَوَلَّواْۖ

wa-tawallaw

and turned away

وَّٱسۡتَغۡنَى

wastag̣nal

And can do without them

ٱللَّهُۚ

laah:

Allah

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

And Allah

غَنِيٌّ

G̣aniyyun

(is) Self-sufficient

حَمِيدٞ

Ḥameed.

Praiseworthy

64:7

زَعَمَ

Zaʻamal

Claim

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

كَفَرُوٓاْ

kafarooo

disbelieve

أَن

ʹal

that

لَّن

lañy

never

يُبۡعَثُواْۚ

yubʻas̤oo.

will they be raised

قُلۡ

Q̣ul

Say

بَلَىٰ

balaa

Yes

وَرَبِّي

wa-Rabbee

by my Lord

لَتُبۡعَثُنَّ

latubʻas̤unna

surely you will be raised

ثُمَّ

s̤umma

then

لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ

latunabbaʹunna

surely you will be informed

بِمَا

bimaa

of what

عَمِلۡتُمۡۚ

ʻamiltum.

you did

وَذَٰلِكَ

Wa-ẓaalika

And that

عَلَى

ʻalal

for

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

Allah

يَسِيرٞ

yaseer.

(is) easy

64:8

فَـَٔامِنُواْ

Faʹaaminoo

So believe

بِٱللَّهِ

billaahi

in Allah

وَرَسُولِهِۦ

wa-Rasoolihee

and His Messenger

وَٱلنُّورِ

wan-Nooril

and the Light

ٱلَّذِيٓ

laẓeee

which

أَنزَلۡنَاۚ

ʹañzalnaa.

We have sent down

وَٱللَّهُ

Wallaahu

And Allah

بِمَا

bimaa

of what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

taʻmaloona

you do

خَبِيرٞ

khabeer.

(is) All-Aware

64:9

يَوۡمَ

Yawma

(The) Day

يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ

yajmaʻukum

He will assemble you

لِيَوۡمِ

li-Yawmil

for (the) Day

ٱلۡجَمۡعِۖ

Jamʻi

(of) the Assembly

ذَٰلِكَ

ẓaalika

that

يَوۡمُ

Yawmut

(will be the) Day

ٱلتَّغَابُنِۗ

TAG̣AABUN.

(of) mutual loss and gain

وَمَن

Wa-mañy

And whoever

يُؤۡمِنۢ

yuʹmim

believes

بِٱللَّهِ

billaahi

in Allah

وَيَعۡمَلۡ

wa-yaʻmal

and does

صَٰلِحٗا

ṣaaliḥañy

righteous deeds

يُكَفِّرۡ

yukaffir

He will remove

عَنۡهُ

ʻanhu

from him

سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ

sayyiʹaatihee

his evil deeds

وَيُدۡخِلۡهُ

wa-yudkhilhu

and He will admit him

جَنَّٰتٖ

Jannaatiñ

(to) Gardens

تَجۡرِي

tajree

flow

مِن

miñ

from

تَحۡتِهَا

taḥtihal

underneath it

ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ

ʹanhaaru

the rivers

خَٰلِدِينَ

khaalideena

abiding

فِيهَآ

feehaaa

therein

أَبَدٗاۚ

ʹabadaa:

forever

ذَٰلِكَ

ẓaalikal

That

ٱلۡفَوۡزُ

fawzul

(is) the success

ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

ʻaz̤̣eem.

the great

64:10

وَٱلَّذِينَ

Wallaẓeena

But those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaroo

disbelieved

وَكَذَّبُواْ

wa-kaẓẓaboo

and denied

بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ

biʹAayaatinaaa

[in] Our Verses

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

ʹulaaaʹika

those

أَصۡحَٰبُ

ʹAṣḥaabun

(are the) companions

ٱلنَّارِ

Naari

(of) the Fire

خَٰلِدِينَ

khaalideena

abiding forever

فِيهَاۖ

feehaa:

therein

وَبِئۡسَ

wa-biʹsal

And wretched is

ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

Maṣeer.

the destination

١٠

64:11

مَآ

Maaa

Not

أَصَابَ

ʹaṣaaba

strikes

مِن

mim

any

مُّصِيبَةٍ

muṣeebatin

disaster

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

بِإِذۡنِ

biʹiẓnil

by (the) permission

ٱللَّهِۗ

laah.

(of) Allah

وَمَن

Wa-mañy

And whoever

يُؤۡمِنۢ

yuʹmim

believes

بِٱللَّهِ

billaahi

in Allah

يَهۡدِ

yahdi

He guides

قَلۡبَهُۥۚ

q̣albah;

his heart

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

And Allah

بِكُلِّ

bikulli

of every

شَيۡءٍ

shayʹin

thing

عَلِيمٞ

ʻAleem.

(is) All-Knowing

١١

64:12

وَأَطِيعُواْ

Wa-ʹaṭeeʻul

So obey

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

وَأَطِيعُواْ

wa-ʹaṭeeʻur

and obey

ٱلرَّسُولَۚ

Rasool:

the Messenger

فَإِن

faʹiñ

but if

تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ

tawallaytum

you turn away

فَإِنَّمَا

faʹinnamaa

then only

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

upon

رَسُولِنَا

Rasoolinal

Our Messenger

ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ

Balaag̣ul

(is) the conveyance

ٱلۡمُبِينُ

mubeen.

clear

١٢

64:13

ٱللَّهُ

ʹAllaahu

Allah

لَآ

Laaa

(there is) no

إِلَٰهَ

ʹilaaha

god

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

هُوَۚ

Hoo!

Him

وَعَلَى

Wa-ʻalal

And upon

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

Allah

فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ

falyatawakkalil

let put (their) trust

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

Muʹminoon.

the believers

١٣

64:14

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

Yaaaʹayyuhal

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(you) who

ءَامَنُوٓاْ

ʹaamanooo

believe

إِنَّ

ʹinna

Indeed

مِنۡ

min

from

أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۡ

ʹazwaajikum

your spouses

وَأَوۡلَٰدِكُمۡ

wa-ʹawlaadikum

and your children

عَدُوّٗا

ʻaduwwal

(are) enemies

لَّكُمۡ

lakum

to you

فَٱحۡذَرُوهُمۡۚ

faḥẓaroohum!

so beware of them

وَإِن

Wa-ʹiñ

But if

تَعۡفُواْ

taʻfoo

you pardon

وَتَصۡفَحُواْ

wa-taṣfaḥoo

and overlook

وَتَغۡفِرُواْ

wa-tag̣firoo

and forgive

فَإِنَّ

faʹinnal

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

غَفُورٞ

G̣afoorur

(is) Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمٌ

Raḥeem.

Most Merciful

١٤

64:15

إِنَّمَآ

ʹInnamaaa

Only

أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ

ʹamwaalukum

your wealth

وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ

wa-ʹawlaadukum

and your children

فِتۡنَةٞۚ

fitnah:

(are) a trial

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

and Allah

عِندَهُۥٓ

ʻiñdahooo

with Him

أَجۡرٌ

ʹAjrun

(is) a reward

عَظِيمٞ

ʻaz̤̣eem.

great

١٥

64:16

فَٱتَّقُواْ

Fattaq̣ul

So fear

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

مَا

mas

what

ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ

taṭaʻtum

you are able

وَٱسۡمَعُواْ

wasmaʻoo

and listen

وَأَطِيعُواْ

wa-ʹaṭeeʻoo

and obey

وَأَنفِقُواْ

wa-ʹañfiq̣oo

and spend

خَيۡرٗا

khayral

(it is) better

لِّأَنفُسِكُمۡۗ

liʹañfusikum.

for yourselves

وَمَن

Wa-mañy

And whoever

يُوقَ

yooq̣a

is saved

شُحَّ

shuḥḥa

(from the) greediness

نَفۡسِهِۦ

nafsihee

(of) his soul

فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

faʹulaaaʹika

then those

هُمُ

humul

[they]

ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

Mufliḥoon.

(are) the successful ones

١٦

64:17

إِن

ʹIñ

تُقۡرِضُواْ

tuq̣riḍul

you loan

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

(to) Allah

قَرۡضًا

Q̣arḍan

a loan

حَسَنٗا

Ḥasanañy

goodly

يُضَٰعِفۡهُ

yuḍaaʻifhu

He will multiply it

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

وَيَغۡفِرۡ

wa-yag̣fir

and will forgive

لَكُمۡۚ

lakum:

you

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

And Allah

شَكُورٌ

Shakoorun

(is) Most Appreciative

حَلِيمٌ

Ḥaleem,―

Most Forbearing
