54:9

۞كَذَّبَتۡ

Kaẓẓabat

Denied

قَبۡلَهُمۡ

q̣ablahum

before them

قَوۡمُ

Q̣awmu

(the) people

نُوحٖ

Nooḥiñ

(of) Nuh

فَكَذَّبُواْ

fakaẓẓaboo

and they denied

عَبۡدَنَا

ʻAbdanaa

Our slave

وَقَالُواْ

wa-q̣aaloo

and said

مَجۡنُونٞ

majnooñuw

A madman

وَٱزۡدُجِرَ

wazdujir.

and he was repelled

54:10

فَدَعَا

Fadaʻaa

So he called

رَبَّهُۥٓ

Rabbahooo

his Lord

أَنِّي

ʹannee

I am

مَغۡلُوبٞ

mag̣loobuñ

one overpowered

فَٱنتَصِرۡ

fañtaṣir!

so help

١٠

54:11

فَفَتَحۡنَآ

Fafataḥnaaa

So We opened

أَبۡوَٰبَ

ʹabwaabas

(the) gates

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

samaaaʹi

(of) heaven

بِمَآءٖ

bimaaaʹim

with water

مُّنۡهَمِرٖ

munhamir.

pouring down

١١

54:12

وَفَجَّرۡنَا

Wa-fajjarnal

And We caused to burst

ٱلۡأَرۡضَ

ʹarḍa

the earth

عُيُونٗا

ʻuyoonañ

(with) springs

فَٱلۡتَقَى

faltaq̣al

so met

ٱلۡمَآءُ

maaaʹu

the water(s)

عَلَىٰٓ

ʻalaaa

for

أَمۡرٖ

ʹamriñ

a matter

قَدۡ

q̣ad

already

قُدِرَ

q̣udir.

predestined

١٢

54:13

وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ

Wa-ḥamalnaahu

And We carried him

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

ذَاتِ

ẓaati

(ark) made of planks

أَلۡوَٰحٖ

ʹalwaaḥiñw

(ark) made of planks

وَدُسُرٖ

Wadusur,

and nails

١٣

54:14

تَجۡرِي

Tajree

Sailing

بِأَعۡيُنِنَا

biʹaʻyuninaa;

before Our eyes

جَزَآءٗ

jazaaaʹal

a reward

لِّمَن

limañ

for (he) who

كَانَ

kaana

was

كُفِرَ

kufir!

denied

١٤

54:15

وَلَقَد

Wa-laq̣at

And certainly

تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ

taraknaahaaa

We left it

ءَايَةٗ

ʹAayatañ

(as) a Sign

فَهَلۡ

fahal

so is (there)

مِن

mim

any

مُّدَّكِرٖ

muddakir?

who will receive admonition

54:16

فَكَيۡفَ

Fakayfa

So how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَذَابِي

ʻAẓaabee

My punishment

وَنُذُرِ

wa-Nuẓur?

and My warnings

١٦

54:17

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And certainly

يَسَّرۡنَا

yassarnal

We have made easy

ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Q̣urʹaana

the Quran

لِلذِّكۡرِ

liẓ-Ẓikri

for remembrance

فَهَلۡ

fahal

so is (there)

مِن

mim

any

مُّدَّكِرٖ

muddakir?

who will receive admonition

١٧

54:18

كَذَّبَتۡ

Kaẓẓabat

Denied

عَادٞ

ʻAaduñ

Aad

فَكَيۡفَ

fakayfa

so how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَذَابِي

ʻAẓaabee

My punishment

وَنُذُرِ

wa-Nuẓur.

and My warnings

54:19

إِنَّآ

ʹInnaaa

Indeed We

أَرۡسَلۡنَا

ʹarsalnaa

[We] sent

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

ʻalayhim

upon them

رِيحٗا

reeḥañ

a wind

صَرۡصَرٗا

ṣarṣarañ

furious

فِي

fee

يَوۡمِ

Yawmi

a day

نَحۡسٖ

naḥsim

(of) misfortune

مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ

mustamirr,

continuous

١٩

54:20

تَنزِعُ

Tañziʻun

Plucking out

ٱلنَّاسَ

naasa

men

كَأَنَّهُمۡ

kaʹannahum

as if they (were)

أَعۡجَازُ

ʹaʻjaazu

trunks

نَخۡلٖ

nakhlim

(of) date-palms

مُّنقَعِرٖ

muñq̣aʻir.

uprooted

54:21

فَكَيۡفَ

Fakayfa

So how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَذَابِي

ʻaẓaabee

My punishment

وَنُذُرِ

wa-nuẓur?

and My warnings

54:22

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And certainly

يَسَّرۡنَا

yassarnal

We have made easy

ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Q̣urʹaana

the Quran

لِلذِّكۡرِ

liẓ-Ẓikri

for remembrance

فَهَلۡ

fahal

so is (there)

مِن

mim

any

مُّدَّكِرٖ

muddakir?

who will receive admonition

٢٢

54:23

كَذَّبَتۡ

Kaẓẓabat

Denied

ثَمُودُ

S̤amoodu

Thamud

بِٱلنُّذُرِ

bin-Nuẓur.

the warnings

٢٣

54:24

فَقَالُوٓاْ

Faq̣aalooo

And said

أَبَشَرٗا

ʹabasharam

Is (it) a human being

مِّنَّا

minnaa

among us

وَٰحِدٗا

waaḥidan

one

نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ

nattabiʻuhooo

(that) we should follow him

إِنَّآ

ʹinnaaa

Indeed we

إِذٗا

ʹiẓal

then

لَّفِي

lafee

(will be) surely in

ضَلَٰلٖ

ḍalaaliñw

error

وَسُعُرٍ

wasuʻur!

and madness

٢٤

54:25

أَءُلۡقِيَ

ʹA-ʹulq̣iyaẓ

Has been sent

ٱلذِّكۡرُ

Ẓikru

the Reminder

عَلَيۡهِ

ʻalayhi

to him

مِنۢ

mim

from

بَيۡنِنَا

bayninaa

among us

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

هُوَ

huwa

كَذَّابٌ

kaẓẓaabun

(is) a liar

أَشِرٞ

ʹashir!

insolent

٢٥

54:26

سَيَعۡلَمُونَ

Sayaʻlamoona

They will know

غَدٗا

g̣adam

tomorrow

مَّنِ

manil

who

ٱلۡكَذَّابُ

kaẓẓaabul

(is) the liar

ٱلۡأَشِرُ

ʹashir!

the insolent one

٢٦

54:27

إِنَّا

ʹInnaa

Indeed We

مُرۡسِلُواْ

mursilun

(are) sending

ٱلنَّاقَةِ

naaq̣ati

the she-camel

فِتۡنَةٗ

fitnatal

(as) a trial

لَّهُمۡ

lahum

for them

فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ

fartaq̣ibhum

so watch them

وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ

waṣṭabir!

and be patient

54:28

وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ

Wa-nabbiʹhum

And inform them

أَنَّ

ʹannal

that

ٱلۡمَآءَ

maaaʹa

the water

قِسۡمَةُۢ

q̣ismatum

(is) to be shared

بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ

baynahum:

between them

كُلُّ

kullu

each

شِرۡبٖ

shirbim

drink

مُّحۡتَضَرٞ

muḥtaḍar.

attended

٢٨

54:29

فَنَادَوۡاْ

Fanaadaw

But they called

صَاحِبَهُمۡ

ṣaaḥibahum

their companion

فَتَعَاطَىٰ

fataʻaaṭaa

and he took

فَعَقَرَ

faʻaq̣ar.

and hamstrung

٢٩

54:30

فَكَيۡفَ

Fakayfa

So how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَذَابِي

ʻAẓaabee

My punishment

وَنُذُرِ

wa-Nuẓur!

and My warnings

٣٠

54:31

إِنَّآ

ʹInnaaa

Indeed We

أَرۡسَلۡنَا

ʹarsalnaa

[We] sent

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

ʻalayhim

upon them

صَيۡحَةٗ

Ṣayḥatañw

thunderous blast

وَٰحِدَةٗ

waaḥidatañ

single

فَكَانُواْ

fakaanoo

and they became

كَهَشِيمِ

kahasheemil

like dry twig fragments

ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ

muḥtaz̤̣ir.

(used by) a fence builder

54:32

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And certainly

يَسَّرۡنَا

yassarnal

We have made easy

ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Q̣urʹaana

the Quran

لِلذِّكۡرِ

liẓ-Ẓikri

for remembrance

فَهَلۡ

fahal

so is (there)

مِن

mim

any

مُّدَّكِرٖ

muddakir?

who will receive admonition

كَذَّبَتۡ

Kaẓẓabat

Denied

قَوۡمُ

Q̣awmu

(the) people

لُوطِۭ

Looṭim

(of) Lut

بِٱلنُّذُرِ

bin-Nuẓur.
