47:10

۞أَفَلَمۡ

ʹAfalam

Do not

يَسِيرُواْ

yaseeroo

they travel

فِي

fil

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

ʹarḍi

the earth

فَيَنظُرُواْ

fayañz̤̣uroo

and see

كَيۡفَ

kayfa

how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَٰقِبَةُ

ʻAaq̣ibatul

(the) end

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(of) those

مِن

miñ

before them

قَبۡلِهِمۡۖ

q̣ablihim?

before them

دَمَّرَ

Dammaral

Allah destroyed

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah destroyed

عَلَيۡهِمۡۖ

ʻalayhim,

[over] them

وَلِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

wa-lilkaafireena

and for the disbelievers

أَمۡثَٰلُهَا

ʹams̤aaluhaa.

its likeness

١٠

47:11

ذَٰلِكَ

Ẓaalika

That

بِأَنَّ

biʹannal

(is) because

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

مَوۡلَى

Mawlal

(is the) Protector

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(of) those who

ءَامَنُواْ

ʹaamanoo

believe

وَأَنَّ

waʹannal

and that

ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

kaafireena

the disbelievers

لَا

laa-

(there is) no

مَوۡلَىٰ

mawlaa

protector

لَهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

47:12

إِنَّ

ʹInnal

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

يُدۡخِلُ

yudkhilul

will admit

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

ءَامَنُواْ

ʹaamanoo

believe

وَعَمِلُواْ

wa-ʻamiluṣ

and do

ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ

ṣaaliḥaati

righteous deeds

جَنَّٰتٖ

Jannaatiñ

(to) Gardens

تَجۡرِي

tajree

flow

مِن

miñ

from

تَحۡتِهَا

taḥtihal

underneath it

ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۖ

ʹanhaar;

the rivers

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wallaẓeena

but those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaroo

disbelieve

يَتَمَتَّعُونَ

yatamattaʻoona

they enjoy

وَيَأۡكُلُونَ

wa-yaʹkuloona

and eat

كَمَا

kamaa

تَأۡكُلُ

taʹkulul

eat

ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمُ

ʹanʻaamu

the cattle

وَٱلنَّارُ

wan-Naaru

and the Fire

مَثۡوٗى

mas̤wal

(will be) an abode

لَّهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

١٢

47:13

وَكَأَيِّن

Wa-kaʹayyim

And how many

مِّن

miñ

قَرۡيَةٍ

q̣aryatin

a town

هِيَ

hiya

which

أَشَدُّ

ʹashaddu

(was) stronger

قُوَّةٗ

q̣uwwatam

(in) strength

مِّن

miñ

than

قَرۡيَتِكَ

q̣aryatikal

your town

ٱلَّتِيٓ

lateee

which

أَخۡرَجَتۡكَ

ʹakhrajatka:

has driven you out

أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡ

ʹAhlaknaahum

We destroyed them

فَلَا

falaa

so no

نَاصِرَ

naaṣira

helper

لَهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

١٣

47:14

أَفَمَن

ʹAfamañ

Then is (he) who

كَانَ

kaana

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

بَيِّنَةٖ

Bayyinatim

a clear proof

مِّن

mir

from

رَّبِّهِۦ

Rabbihee

his Lord

كَمَن

kamañ

like (he) who

زُيِّنَ

zuyyina

is made attractive

لَهُۥ

lahoo

to him

سُوٓءُ

soooʹu

(the) evil

عَمَلِهِۦ

ʻamalihee

(of) his deeds

وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ

wattabaʻooo

while they follow

أَهۡوَآءَهُم

ʹahwaaaʹahum?

their desires

١٤

47:15

مَّثَلُ

Mas̤alul

A parable

ٱلۡجَنَّةِ

Jannatil

(of) Paradise

ٱلَّتِي

latee

which

وُعِدَ

wuʻidal

is promised

ٱلۡمُتَّقُونَۖ

Muttaq̣oon:

(to) the righteous

فِيهَآ

feehaaa

Therein

أَنۡهَٰرٞ

ʹanhaarum

(are) rivers

مِّن

mim

مَّآءٍ

maaaʹin

water

غَيۡرِ

g̣ayri

not

ءَاسِنٖ

ʹaasin;

polluted

وَأَنۡهَٰرٞ

wa-ʹanhaarum

and rivers

مِّن

mil

لَّبَنٖ

labanil

milk

لَّمۡ

lam

not

يَتَغَيَّرۡ

yatag̣ayyar

changes

طَعۡمُهُۥ

ṭaʻmuh;

its taste

وَأَنۡهَٰرٞ

wa-ʹanhaarum

and rivers

مِّنۡ

min

خَمۡرٖ

khamril

wine

لَّذَّةٖ

laẓẓatil

delicious

لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ

lishshaaribeen;

for (the) drinkers

وَأَنۡهَٰرٞ

wa-ʹanhaarum

and rivers

مِّنۡ

min

عَسَلٖ

ʻasalim

honey

مُّصَفّٗىۖ

muṣaffaa.

purified

وَلَهُمۡ

Wa-lahum

and for them

فِيهَا

feehaa

therein

مِن

miñ

كُلِّ

kullis̤

all

ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ

s̤amaraati

fruits

وَمَغۡفِرَةٞ

wa-mag̣firatum

and forgiveness

مِّن

mir

from

رَّبِّهِمۡۖ

Rabbihim:

their Lord

كَمَنۡ

Kaman

like he who

هُوَ

huwa

like he who

خَٰلِدٞ

khaaliduñ

(will) abide forever

فِي

fin

ٱلنَّارِ

Naari

the Fire

وَسُقُواْ

wa-suq̣oo

and they will be given to drink

مَآءً

maaaʹan

water

حَمِيمٗا

ḥameemañ

boiling

فَقَطَّعَ

faq̣aṭṭaʹa

so it cuts into pieces

أَمۡعَآءَهُمۡ

ʹamʻaaaʹahum?

their intestines

١٥

47:16

وَمِنۡهُم

Wa-minhum

And among them

مَّن

mañy

(are some) who

يَسۡتَمِعُ

yastamiʻu

listen

إِلَيۡكَ

ʹilayka

to you

حَتَّىٰٓ

ḥattaaa

until

إِذَا

ʹiẓaa

when

خَرَجُواْ

kharajoo

they depart

مِنۡ

min

from

عِندِكَ

ʻiñdika

you

قَالُواْ

q̣aaloo

they say

لِلَّذِينَ

lil-laẓeena

to those who

أُوتُواْ

ʹootul

were given

ٱلۡعِلۡمَ

ʻIlma

the knowledge

مَاذَا

maaẓaa

What

قَالَ

q̣aala

(has) he said

ءَانِفًاۚ

ʹaanifaa?

just now

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

ʹUlaaaʹikal

Those

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(are) the ones

طَبَعَ

ṭabaʻal

Allah has set a seal

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah has set a seal

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

upon

قُلُوبِهِمۡ

q̣uloobihim

their hearts

وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ

wattabaʻooo

and they follow

أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ

ʹahwaaaʹahum.

their desires

١٦

47:17

وَٱلَّذِينَ

Wallaẓeenah

And those who

ٱهۡتَدَوۡاْ

tadaw

accept guidance

زَادَهُمۡ

zaadahum

He increases them

هُدٗى

hudañw

(in) guidance

وَءَاتَىٰهُمۡ

waʹataahum

and gives them

تَقۡوَىٰهُمۡ

taq̣waahum.

their righteousness

١٧

47:18

فَهَلۡ

Fahal

Then do

يَنظُرُونَ

yañz̤̣uroona

they wait

إِلَّا

ʹillas

but

ٱلسَّاعَةَ

Saaʻata

(for) the Hour

أَن

ʹañ

that

تَأۡتِيَهُم

taʹtiyahum̃

it should come to them

بَغۡتَةٗۖ

bag̣tah?

suddenly

فَقَدۡ

Faq̣ad

But indeed

جَآءَ

jaaaʹa

have come

أَشۡرَاطُهَاۚ

ʹashraaṭuhaa.

its indications

فَأَنَّىٰ

Faʹannaa

Then how

لَهُمۡ

lahum

to them

إِذَا

ʹiẓaa

when

جَآءَتۡهُمۡ

jaaaʹathum

has come to them

ذِكۡرَىٰهُمۡ

ẓikraahum?

their reminder

١٨

47:19

فَٱعۡلَمۡ

Faʻlam

So know

أَنَّهُۥ

ʹannahoo

that [He]

لَآ

Laaa

(there is) no

إِلَٰهَ

ʹilaaha

god

إِلَّا

ʹillal

but

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ

wastag̣fir

and ask forgiveness

لِذَنۢبِكَ

liẓambika

for your sin

وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

wa-lil-Muʹmineena

and for the believing men

وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِۗ

wal-Muʹminaat:

and the believing women

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

And Allah

يَعۡلَمُ

yaʻlamu

knows

مُتَقَلَّبَكُمۡ

mutaq̣allabakum

your movement

وَمَثۡوَىٰكُمۡ

wa-mas̤waakum.

and your resting places

47:20

وَيَقُولُ

Wa-yaq̣oolul

And say

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

ءَامَنُواْ

ʹaamanoo

believe

لَوۡلَا

Law-laa

Why not

نُزِّلَتۡ

nuzzilat

has been revealed

سُورَةٞۖ

Soorah?

a Surah

فَإِذَآ

Faʹiẓaaa

But when

أُنزِلَتۡ

ʹuñzilat

is revealed

سُورَةٞ

Sooratum

a Surah

مُّحۡكَمَةٞ

Muḥkamatuñw

precise

وَذُكِرَ

Waẓukira

and is mentioned

فِيهَا

feehal

in it

ٱلۡقِتَالُ

q̣itaalu

the fighting

رَأَيۡتَ

raʹaytal

you see

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

فِي

fee

قُلُوبِهِم

q̣uloobihim

their hearts

مَّرَضٞ

maraḍuñy

(is) a disease

يَنظُرُونَ

yañz̤̣uroona

looking

إِلَيۡكَ

ʹilayka

at you

نَظَرَ

naz̤̣aral

a look

ٱلۡمَغۡشِيِّ

mag̣shiyyi

(of) one fainting

عَلَيۡهِ

ʻalayhi

(of) one fainting

مِنَ

minal

from

ٱلۡمَوۡتِۖ

mawt.

the death

فَأَوۡلَىٰ

Faʹawlaa

But more appropriate

لَهُمۡ

lahum!

for them

٢٠

47:21

طَاعَةٞ

Ṭaaʻatuñw

(Is) obedience

وَقَوۡلٞ

Waq̣awlum

and a word

مَّعۡرُوفٞۚ

maʻroof.

kind

فَإِذَا

Faʹiẓaa

And when

عَزَمَ

ʻazamal

(is) determined

ٱلۡأَمۡرُ

ʹamr.

the matter

فَلَوۡ

Falaw

then if

صَدَقُواْ

ṣadaq̣ul

they had been true

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

(to) Allah

لَكَانَ

lakaana

surely it would have been

خَيۡرٗا

khayral

better

لَّهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

٢١

47:22

فَهَلۡ

Fahal

Then would

عَسَيۡتُمۡ

ʻasaytum

you perhaps

إِن

ʹiñ

تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ

tawallaytum

you are given authority

أَن

ʹañ

that

تُفۡسِدُواْ

tufsidoo

you cause corruption

فِي

fil

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

ʹarḍi

the earth

وَتُقَطِّعُوٓاْ

wa-tuq̣aṭṭiʻooo

and cut off

أَرۡحَامَكُمۡ

ʹarḥaamakum?

your ties of kinship

٢٢

47:23

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

ʹUlaaaʹikal

Those

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(are) the ones

لَعَنَهُمُ

laʻanahumul

Allah has cursed them

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah has cursed them

فَأَصَمَّهُمۡ

faʹaṣammahum

so He made them deaf

وَأَعۡمَىٰٓ

wa-ʹaʻmaaa

and blinded

أَبۡصَٰرَهُمۡ

ʹabṣaarahum.

their vision

٢٣

47:24

أَفَلَا

ʹAfalaa

Then do not

يَتَدَبَّرُونَ

yatadabbaroonal

they ponder

ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ

Q̣ur-ʹaana

(over) the Quran

أَمۡ

ʹam

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

upon

قُلُوبٍ

q̣uloobin

(their) hearts

أَقۡفَالُهَآ

ʹaq̣faaluhaa?

(are) locks

٢٤

47:25

إِنَّ

ʹInnal

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeenar

those who

ٱرۡتَدُّواْ

taddoo

return

عَلَىٰٓ

ʻalaaa

أَدۡبَٰرِهِم

ʹadbaarihim

their backs

مِّنۢ

mim

after

بَعۡدِ

baʻdi

after

مَا

maa-

what

تَبَيَّنَ

tabayyana

(has) become clear

لَهُمُ

lahumul

to them

ٱلۡهُدَى

Hudash

(of) the guidance

ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ

Shayṭaanu

Shaitaan

سَوَّلَ

sawwala

enticed

لَهُمۡ

lahum,

[for] them

وَأَمۡلَىٰ

wa-ʹamlaa

and prolonged hope

لَهُمۡ

lahum.

for them

٢٥

47:26

ذَٰلِكَ

Ẓaalika

That

بِأَنَّهُمۡ

biʹannahum

(is) because they

قَالُواْ

q̣aaloo

[they] said

لِلَّذِينَ

lillaẓeena

to those who

كَرِهُواْ

karihoo

hate

مَا

maa-

what

نَزَّلَ

nazzalal

Allah has revealed

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah has revealed

سَنُطِيعُكُمۡ

sanuṭeeʻukum

We will obey you

فِي

fee

بَعۡضِ

baʻḍil

part

ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ

ʹamr;

(of) the matter

وَٱللَّهُ

wallaahu

But Allah

يَعۡلَمُ

yaʻlamu

knows

إِسۡرَارَهُمۡ

ʹisraarahum.

their secrets

٢٦

47:27

فَكَيۡفَ

Fakayfa

Then how

إِذَا

ʹizaa

when

تَوَفَّتۡهُمُ

tawaffathumul

take them in death

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ

malaaaʹikatu

the Angels

يَضۡرِبُونَ

yaḍriboona

striking

وُجُوهَهُمۡ

wujoohahum

their faces

وَأَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ

wa-ʹadbaa-rahum?

and their backs

٢٧

47:28

ذَٰلِكَ

Ẓaalika

That

بِأَنَّهُمُ

biʹannahumut

(is) because they

ٱتَّبَعُواْ

tabaʻoo

followed

مَآ

maaa

what

أَسۡخَطَ

ʹaskhaṭal

angered

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

وَكَرِهُواْ

wa-karihoo

and hated

رِضۡوَٰنَهُۥ

riḍwaanahoo

His pleasure

فَأَحۡبَطَ

faʹaḥbaṭa

so He made worthless

أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ

ʹaʻmaalahum.

their deeds

٢٨

47:29

أَمۡ

ʹAm

Or do

حَسِبَ

ḥasibal

think

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

فِي

fee

قُلُوبِهِم

q̣uloobihim

their hearts

مَّرَضٌ

maraḍun

(is) a disease

أَن

ʹal

that

لَّن

lañy

never

يُخۡرِجَ

yukhrijal

will Allah bring forth

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

will Allah bring forth

أَضۡغَٰنَهُمۡ

ʹaḍg̣aanahum?

their hatred

٢٩

47:30

وَلَوۡ

Wa-law

And if

نَشَآءُ

nashaaaʹu

We willed

لَأَرَيۡنَٰكَهُمۡ

laʹaraynaakahum

surely We could show them to you

فَلَعَرَفۡتَهُم

falaʻaraftahum̃

and you would know them

بِسِيمَٰهُمۡۚ

biseemaahum:

by their marks

وَلَتَعۡرِفَنَّهُمۡ

wa-lataʻrifan-nahum

but surely you will know them

فِي

fee

لَحۡنِ

laḥnil

(the) tone

ٱلۡقَوۡلِۚ

q̣awl!

(of their) speech

وَٱللَّهُ

Wallaahu

And Allah

يَعۡلَمُ

yaʻlamu

knows

أَعۡمَٰلَكُمۡ

ʹaʻmaalakum.

your deeds

٣٠

47:31

وَلَنَبۡلُوَنَّكُمۡ

Wa-lanabluwannakum

And surely We will test you

حَتَّىٰ

ḥattaa

until

نَعۡلَمَ

naʻlamal

We make evident

ٱلۡمُجَٰهِدِينَ

mujaahideena

those who strive

مِنكُمۡ

miñkum

among you

وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

waṣṣaabireena

and the patient ones

وَنَبۡلُوَاْ

wa-nabluwa

and We will test

أَخۡبَارَكُمۡ

ʹakhbaarakum.

your affairs

٣١

47:32

إِنَّ

ʹInnal

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaroo

disbelieve

وَصَدُّواْ

wa-ṣaddoo

and turn away

عَن

ʻañ

from

سَبِيلِ

Sabeelil

(the) way of Allah

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(the) way of Allah

وَشَآقُّواْ

wa-shaaaq̣q̣ur

and oppose

ٱلرَّسُولَ

Rasoola

the Messenger

مِنۢ

mim

after

بَعۡدِ

baʻdi

after

مَا

maa-

[what]

تَبَيَّنَ

tabayyana

(has been) made clear

لَهُمُ

lahumul

to them

ٱلۡهُدَىٰ

Hudaa

the guidance

لَن

lañy

never

يَضُرُّواْ

yaḍurrul

will they harm

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

شَيۡـٔٗا

shayʹaa:

(in) anything

وَسَيُحۡبِطُ

wa-sa-yuḥbiṭu

and He will make worthless

أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ

ʹaʻmaalahum.

their deeds
