2:283
۞وَإِن
wa-in
And if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you are
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
سَفَرٖ
safarin
a journey
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidu
you find
كَاتِبٗا
katiban
a scribe
فَرِهَٰنٞ
farihanun
then pledge
مَّقۡبُوضَةٞۖ
maqbudatun
in hand
فَإِنۡ
fa-in
Then if
أَمِنَ
amina
entrusts
بَعۡضُكُم
ba'dukum
one of you
بَعۡضٗا
ba'dan
(to) another
فَلۡيُؤَدِّ
falyu-addi
then let discharge
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
the one who
ٱؤۡتُمِنَ
u'tumina
is entrusted
أَمَٰنَتَهُۥ
amanatahu
his trust
وَلۡيَتَّقِ
walyattaqi
And let him fear
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
رَبَّهُۥۗ
rabbahu
his Lord
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَكۡتُمُواْ
taktumu
conceal
ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَۚ
al-shahadata
the evidence
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يَكۡتُمۡهَا
yaktum'ha
conceals it
فَإِنَّهُۥٓ
fa-innahu
then indeed he
ءَاثِمٞ
athimun
(is) sinful
قَلۡبُهُۥۗ
qalbuhu
his heart
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bima
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
you do
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
٢٨٣
2:284
لِّلَّهِ
lillahi
To Allah (belongs)
مَا
ma
whatever
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَمَا
wama
and whatever
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
al-ardi
the earth
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُبۡدُواْ
tub'du
you disclose
مَا
ma
what
فِيٓ
fi
(is) in
أَنفُسِكُمۡ
anfusikum
yourselves
أَوۡ
aw
or
تُخۡفُوهُ
tukh'fuhu
you conceal it
يُحَاسِبۡكُم
yuhasib'kum
will call you to account
بِهِ
bihi
for it
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah
فَيَغۡفِرُ
fayaghfiru
Then He will forgive
لِمَن
liman
[to] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wayu'adhibu
and He will punish
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashau
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadirun
(is) All-Powerful
٢٨٤
2:285
ءَامَنَ
amana
Believed
ٱلرَّسُولُ
al-rasulu
the Messenger
بِمَآ
bima
in what
أُنزِلَ
unzila
was revealed
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to him
مِن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ
wal-mu'minuna
and the believers
كُلٌّ
kullun
All
ءَامَنَ
amana
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
wamalaikatihi
and His Angels
وَكُتُبِهِۦ
wakutubihi
and His Books
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
warusulihi
and His Messengers
لَا
la
Not
نُفَرِّقُ
nufarriqu
we make distinction
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
أَحَدٖ
ahadin
any
مِّن
min
of
رُّسُلِهِۦۚ
rusulihi
His messengers
وَقَالُواْ
waqalu
And they said
سَمِعۡنَا
sami'na
We heard
وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ
wa-ata'na
and we obeyed
غُفۡرَانَكَ
ghuf'ranaka
(Grant) us Your forgiveness
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
our Lord
وَإِلَيۡكَ
wa-ilayka
and to You
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
al-masiru
(is) the return
٢٨٥
2:286
لَا
la
(Does) not
يُكَلِّفُ
yukallifu
burden
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
نَفۡسًا
nafsan
any soul
إِلَّا
illa
except
وُسۡعَهَاۚ
wus'aha
its capacity
لَهَا
laha
for it
مَا
ma
what
كَسَبَتۡ
kasabat
it earned
وَعَلَيۡهَا
wa'alayha
and against it
مَا
ma
what
ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ
ik'tasabat
it earned
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
لَا
la
(Do) not
تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ
tuakhidh'na
take us to task
إِن
in
if
نَّسِينَآ
nasina
we forget
أَوۡ
aw
or
أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ
akhtana
we err
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَحۡمِلۡ
tahmil
lay
عَلَيۡنَآ
alayna
upon us
إِصۡرٗا
is'ran
a burden
كَمَا
kama
like that
حَمَلۡتَهُۥ
hamaltahu
(which) You laid [it]
عَلَى
ala
on
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
مِن
min
(were) from
قَبۡلِنَاۚ
qablina
before us
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
وَلَا
wala
[And] (do) not
تُحَمِّلۡنَا
tuhammil'na
lay on us
مَا
ma
what
لَا
la
not
طَاقَةَ
taqata
(the) strength
لَنَا
lana
we have
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
[of it] (to bear)
وَٱعۡفُ
wa-u'fu
And pardon
عَنَّا
anna
[from] us
وَٱغۡفِرۡ
wa-igh'fir
and forgive
لَنَا
lana
[for] us
وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ
wa-ir'hamna
and have mercy on us
أَنتَ
anta
You (are)
مَوۡلَىٰنَا
mawlana
our Protector
فَٱنصُرۡنَا
fa-unsur'na
so help us
عَلَى
ala
against
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
al-qawmi
the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
al-kafirina
[the] disbelievers
٢٨٦

3:1
الٓمٓ
alif-lam-meem
Alif Laam Meem
١
3:2
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَآ
la
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ilaha
God
إِلَّا
illa
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
ٱلۡحَيُّ
al-hayu
the Ever-Living
ٱلۡقَيُّومُ
al-qayumu
the Sustainer of all that exists
٢
3:3
نَزَّلَ
nazzala
He revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
alayka
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
بِٱلۡحَقِّ
bil-haqi
in [the] truth
مُصَدِّقٗا
musaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
lima
that which
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(was)
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
before it
وَأَنزَلَ
wa-anzala
and He revealed
ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ
al-tawrata
the Taurat
وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ
wal-injila
and the Injeel
٣
3:4
مِن
min
From
قَبۡلُ
qablu
before (this)
هُدٗى
hudan
(as) guidance
لِّلنَّاسِ
lilnnasi
for the mankind
وَأَنزَلَ
wa-anzala
And (He) revealed
ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَۗ
al-fur'qana
the Criterion
إِنَّ
inna
Verily
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieve[d]
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biayati
in (the) Verses
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٞ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
شَدِيدٞۗ
shadidun
severe
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَزِيزٞ
azizun
(is) All-Mighty
ذُو
dhu
All-Able
ٱنتِقَامٍ
intiqamin
(of) retribution
٤
3:5
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
لَا
la
not
يَخۡفَىٰ
yakhfa
is hidden
عَلَيۡهِ
alayhi
from Him
شَيۡءٞ
shayon
anything
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
al-ardi
the earth
وَلَا
wala
and not
فِي
fi
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
al-samai
the heaven
٥
3:6
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
(is) the One Who
يُصَوِّرُكُمۡ
yusawwirukum
shapes you
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡأَرۡحَامِ
al-arhami
the wombs
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how(ever)
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
لَآ
la
(There is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ilaha
god
إِلَّا
illa
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
al-'azizu
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
al-hakimu
the All-Wise
٦
3:7
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلَّذِيٓ
alladhi
(is) the One Who
أَنزَلَ
anzala
revealed
عَلَيۡكَ
alayka
to you
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
of it
ءَايَٰتٞ
ayatun
(are) Verses
مُّحۡكَمَٰتٌ
muh'kamatun
absolutely clear
هُنَّ
hunna
they (are)
أُمُّ
ummu
the foundation
ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ
al-kitabi
(of) the Book
وَأُخَرُ
wa-ukharu
and others
مُتَشَٰبِهَٰتٞۖ
mutashabihatun
(are) allegorical
فَأَمَّا
fa-amma
Then as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those
فِي
fi
in
قُلُوبِهِمۡ
qulubihim
their hearts
زَيۡغٞ
zayghun
(is) perversity
فَيَتَّبِعُونَ
fayattabi'una
[so] they follow
مَا
ma
what
تَشَٰبَهَ
tashabaha
(is) allegorical
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
of it
ٱبۡتِغَآءَ
ib'tighaa
seeking
ٱلۡفِتۡنَةِ
al-fit'nati
[the] discord
وَٱبۡتِغَآءَ
wa-ib'tighaa
and seeking
تَأۡوِيلِهِۦۖ
tawilihi
its interpretation
وَمَا
wama
And not
يَعۡلَمُ
ya'lamu
knows
تَأۡوِيلَهُۥٓ
tawilahu
its interpretation
إِلَّا
illa
except
ٱللَّهُۗ
al-lahu
Allah
وَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَ
wal-rasikhuna
And those firm
فِي
fi
in
ٱلۡعِلۡمِ
al-'il'mi
[the] knowledge
يَقُولُونَ
yaquluna
they say
ءَامَنَّا
amanna
We believe
بِهِۦ
bihi
in it
كُلّٞ
kullun
All
مِّنۡ
min
(is)
عِندِ
indi
from
رَبِّنَاۗ
rabbina
our Lord
وَمَا
wama
And not
يَذَّكَّرُ
yadhakkaru
will take heed
إِلَّآ
illa
except
أُوْلُواْ
ulu
men
ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
al-albabi
(of) understanding
٧
3:8
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
لَا
la
(Do) not
تُزِغۡ
tuzigh
deviate
قُلُوبَنَا
qulubana
our hearts
بَعۡدَ
ba'da
after
إِذۡ
idh
[when]
هَدَيۡتَنَا
hadaytana
You (have) guided us
وَهَبۡ
wahab
and grant
لَنَا
lana
(for) us
مِن
min
from
لَّدُنكَ
ladunka
Yourself
رَحۡمَةًۚ
rahmatan
mercy
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed You
أَنتَ
anta
You
ٱلۡوَهَّابُ
al-wahabu
(are) the Bestower
٨
3:9
رَبَّنَآ
rabbana
Our Lord
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed You
جَامِعُ
jami'u
will gather
ٱلنَّاسِ
al-nasi
[the] mankind
لِيَوۡمٖ
liyawmin
on a Day
لَّا
la
(there is) no
رَيۡبَ
rayba
doubt
فِيهِۚ
fihi
in it
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
لَا
la
(does) not
يُخۡلِفُ
yukh'lifu
break
ٱلۡمِيعَادَ
al-mi'ada
the Promise

إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieve[d]
لَن
lan
never
تُغۡنِيَ
tugh'niya
will avail
عَنۡهُمۡ
anhum
[for] them
أَمۡوَٰلُهُمۡ
amwaluhum
their wealth
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَوۡلَٰدُهُم
awladuhum
their children
مِّنَ
mina
against
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
شَيۡـٔٗاۖ
shayan
anything
وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
wa-ulaika
and those
هُمۡ
hum
they (are)
وَقُودُ
waqudu
(the) fuel
ٱلنَّارِ
al-nari
(for) the Fire
١٠
3:11
كَدَأۡبِ
kadabi
Like behavior
ءَالِ
ali
(of the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
and those who
مِن
min
(were) from
قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ
qablihim
before them
كَذَّبُواْ
kadhabu
They denied
بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا
biayatina
Our Signs
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumu
so seized them
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
بِذُنُوبِهِمۡۗ
bidhunubihim
for their sins
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
شَدِيدُ
shadidu
(is) severe
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
al-'iqabi
(in) [the] punishment
١١
3:12
قُل
qul
Say
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhina
to those who
كَفَرُواْ
kafaru
disbelieve[d]
سَتُغۡلَبُونَ
satugh'labuna
You will be overcome
وَتُحۡشَرُونَ
watuh'sharuna
and you will be gathered
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
جَهَنَّمَۖ
jahannama
Hell
وَبِئۡسَ
wabi'sa
[and] an evil
ٱلۡمِهَادُ
al-mihadu
[the] resting place
١٢
3:13
قَدۡ
qad
Surely
كَانَ
kana
it was
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
ءَايَةٞ
ayatun
a sign
فِي
fi
in
فِئَتَيۡنِ
fi-atayni
(the) two hosts
ٱلۡتَقَتَاۖ
al-taqata
which met
فِئَةٞ
fi-atun
one group
تُقَٰتِلُ
tuqatilu
fighting
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
وَأُخۡرَىٰ
wa-ukh'ra
and another
كَافِرَةٞ
kafiratun
disbelievers
يَرَوۡنَهُم
yarawnahum
They were seeing them
مِّثۡلَيۡهِمۡ
mith'layhim
twice of them
رَأۡيَ
raya
with the sight
ٱلۡعَيۡنِۚ
al-'ayni
(of) their eyes
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يُؤَيِّدُ
yu-ayyidu
supports
بِنَصۡرِهِۦ
binasrihi
with His help
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِي
fi
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
لَعِبۡرَةٗ
la'ib'ratan
surely (is) a lesson
لِّأُوْلِي
li-uli
for the owners
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ
al-absari
(of) vision
١٣
3:14
زُيِّنَ
zuyyina
Beautified
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnasi
for mankind
حُبُّ
hubbu
(is) love
ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ
al-shahawati
(of) the (things they) desire
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ
al-nisai
[the] women
وَٱلۡبَنِينَ
wal-banina
and [the] sons
وَٱلۡقَنَٰطِيرِ
wal-qanatiri
and [the] heaps
ٱلۡمُقَنطَرَةِ
al-muqantarati
[the] stored up
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلذَّهَبِ
al-dhahabi
[the] gold
وَٱلۡفِضَّةِ
wal-fidati
and [the] silver
وَٱلۡخَيۡلِ
wal-khayli
and [the] horses
ٱلۡمُسَوَّمَةِ
al-musawamati
[the] branded
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ
wal-an'ami
and [the] cattle
وَٱلۡحَرۡثِۗ
wal-harthi
and [the] tilled land
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
That
مَتَٰعُ
mata'u
(is) provision
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
al-hayati
(of) life
ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ
al-dun'ya
(of) the world
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
but Allah
عِندَهُۥ
indahu
with Him
حُسۡنُ
hus'nu
(is an) excellent
ٱلۡمَـَٔابِ
al-maabi
[the] abode to return
١٤
