One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

44:17

۞وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And certainly

فَتَنَّا

fatanna

We tried

قَبۡلَهُمۡ

qablahum

before them

قَوۡمَ

qawma

(the) people

فِرۡعَوۡنَ

fir'awna

(of) Firaun

وَجَآءَهُمۡ

wajaahum

and came to them

رَسُولٞ

rasulun

a Messenger

كَرِيمٌ

karimun

noble

١٧

44:18

أَنۡ

That

أَدُّوٓاْ

addu

Deliver

إِلَيَّ

ilayya

to me

عِبَادَ

ibada

(the) servants

ٱللَّهِۖ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I am

لَكُمۡ

lakum

to you

رَسُولٌ

rasulun

a Messenger

أَمِينٞ

aminun

trustworthy

١٨

44:19

وَأَن

wa-an

And that

لَّا

(do) not

تَعۡلُواْ

ta'lu

exalt yourselves

عَلَى

ala

against

ٱللَّهِۖ

al-lahi

Allah

إِنِّيٓ

inni

Indeed I

ءَاتِيكُم

atikum

[I] have come to you

بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ

bisul'tanin

with an authority

مُّبِينٖ

mubinin

clear

١٩

44:20

وَإِنِّي

wa-inni

And indeed I

عُذۡتُ

udh'tu

[I] seek refuge

بِرَبِّي

birabbi

with my Lord

وَرَبِّكُمۡ

warabbikum

and your Lord

أَن

lest

تَرۡجُمُونِ

tarjumuni

you stone me

٢٠

44:21

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

لَّمۡ

lam

not

تُؤۡمِنُواْ

tu'minu

you believe

لِي

فَٱعۡتَزِلُونِ

fa-i'taziluni

then leave me alone

٢١

44:22

فَدَعَا

fada'a

So he called

رَبَّهُۥٓ

rabbahu

his Lord

أَنَّ

anna

That

هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ

haulai

these

قَوۡمٞ

qawmun

(are) a people

مُّجۡرِمُونَ

muj'rimuna

criminals

٢٢

44:23

فَأَسۡرِ

fa-asri

Then Set out

بِعِبَادِي

bi'ibadi

with My slaves

لَيۡلًا

laylan

(by) night

إِنَّكُم

innakum

Indeed you

مُّتَّبَعُونَ

muttaba'una

(will be) followed

٢٣

44:24

وَٱتۡرُكِ

wa-ut'ruki

And leave

ٱلۡبَحۡرَ

al-bahra

the sea

رَهۡوًاۖ

rahwan

at rest

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

Indeed they

جُندٞ

jundun

(are) an army

مُّغۡرَقُونَ

mugh'raquna

(to be) drowned

٢٤

44:25

كَمۡ

kam

How many

تَرَكُواْ

taraku

(did) they leave

مِن

min

جَنَّٰتٖ

jannatin

gardens

وَعُيُونٖ

wa'uyunin

and springs

٢٥

44:26

وَزُرُوعٖ

wazuru'in

And cornfields

وَمَقَامٖ

wamaqamin

and places

كَرِيمٖ

karimin

noble

٢٦

44:27

وَنَعۡمَةٖ

wana'matin

And pleasant things

كَانُواْ

kanu

they used to

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

فَٰكِهِينَ

fakihina

take delight

٢٧

44:28

كَذَٰلِكَۖ

kadhalika

Thus

وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا

wa-awrathnaha

And We made it (an) inherit(ance)

قَوۡمًا

qawman

(for) a people

ءَاخَرِينَ

akharina

another

٢٨

44:29

فَمَا

fama

And not

بَكَتۡ

bakat

wept

عَلَيۡهِمُ

alayhimu

for them

ٱلسَّمَآءُ

al-samau

the heaven

وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ

wal-ardu

and the earth

وَمَا

wama

and not

كَانُواْ

kanu

they were

مُنظَرِينَ

munzarina

given respite

٢٩

44:30

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And certainly

نَجَّيۡنَا

najjayna

We saved

بَنِيٓ

bani

(the) Children of Israel

إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ

is'raila

(the) Children of Israel

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلۡعَذَابِ

al-'adhabi

the punishment

ٱلۡمُهِينِ

al-muhini

the humiliating

٣٠

44:31

مِن

min

From

فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ

fir'awna

Firaun

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed he

كَانَ

kana

was

عَالِيٗا

aliyan

arrogant

مِّنَ

mina

among

ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

al-mus'rifina

the transgressors

٣١

44:32

وَلَقَدِ

walaqadi

And certainly

ٱخۡتَرۡنَٰهُمۡ

ikh'tarnahum

We chose them

عَلَىٰ

ala

عِلۡمٍ

il'min

knowledge

عَلَى

ala

over

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

al-'alamina

the worlds

٣٢

44:33

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم

waataynahum

And We gave them

مِّنَ

mina

ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ

al-ayati

the Signs

مَا

that

فِيهِ

fihi

in it

بَلَٰٓؤٞاْ

balaon

(was) a trial

مُّبِينٌ

mubinun

clear

٣٣

44:34

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ

haulai

these

لَيَقُولُونَ

layaquluna

surely they say

٣٤

44:35

إِنۡ

Not

هِيَ

hiya

إِلَّا

illa

(is) but

مَوۡتَتُنَا

mawtatuna

our death

ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

al-ula

the first

وَمَا

wama

and not

نَحۡنُ

nahnu

بِمُنشَرِينَ

bimunsharina

(will be) raised again

٣٥

44:36

فَأۡتُواْ

fatu

Then bring

بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ

biabaina

our forefathers

إِن

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

you are

صَٰدِقِينَ

sadiqina

truthful

٣٦

44:37

أَهُمۡ

ahum

Are they

خَيۡرٌ

khayrun

better

أَمۡ

قَوۡمُ

qawmu

(the) people

تُبَّعٖ

tubba'in

(of) Tubba

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhina

and those

مِن

min

before them

قَبۡلِهِمۡ

qablihim

before them

أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ

ahlaknahum

We destroyed them

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

indeed they

كَانُواْ

kanu

were

مُجۡرِمِينَ

muj'rimina

criminals

٣٧

44:38

وَمَا

wama

And not

خَلَقۡنَا

khalaqna

We created

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

wal-arda

and the earth

وَمَا

wama

and whatever

بَيۡنَهُمَا

baynahuma

(is) between them

لَٰعِبِينَ

la'ibina

(in) play

٣٨

44:39

مَا

Not

خَلَقۡنَٰهُمَآ

khalaqnahuma

We created both of them

إِلَّا

illa

but

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-haqi

in [the] truth

وَلَٰكِنَّ

walakinna

but

أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ

aktharahum

most of them

لَا

(do) not

يَعۡلَمُونَ

ya'lamuna

know

٣٩

44:40

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

يَوۡمَ

yawma

(the) Day of Judgment

ٱلۡفَصۡلِ

al-fasli

(the) Day of Judgment

مِيقَٰتُهُمۡ

miqatuhum

(is) an appointed term for them

أَجۡمَعِينَ

ajma'ina

all

٤٠

44:41

يَوۡمَ

yawma

(The) Day

لَا

not

يُغۡنِي

yugh'ni

will avail

مَوۡلًى

mawlan

a relation

عَن

for

مَّوۡلٗى

mawlan

a relation

شَيۡـٔٗا

shayan

anything

وَلَا

wala

and not

هُمۡ

hum

they

يُنصَرُونَ

yunsaruna

will be helped

٤١

44:42

إِلَّا

illa

Except

مَن

man

(on) whom

رَّحِمَ

rahima

Allah has mercy

ٱللَّهُۚ

al-lahu

Allah has mercy

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed He

هُوَ

huwa

[He]

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ

al-'azizu

(is) the All-Mighty

ٱلرَّحِيمُ

al-rahimu

the Most Merciful

٤٢

44:43

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

شَجَرَتَ

shajarata

(the) tree

ٱلزَّقُّومِ

al-zaqumi

(of) Zaqqum

٤٣

44:44

طَعَامُ

ta'amu

(Will be) food

ٱلۡأَثِيمِ

al-athimi

(of) the sinner(s)

٤٤

44:45

كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ

kal-muh'li

Like the murky oil

يَغۡلِي

yaghli

it will boil

فِي

ٱلۡبُطُونِ

al-butuni

the bellies

٤٥

44:46

كَغَلۡيِ

kaghalyi

Like boiling

ٱلۡحَمِيمِ

al-hamimi

(of) scalding water

٤٦

44:47

خُذُوهُ

khudhuhu

Seize him

فَٱعۡتِلُوهُ

fa-i'tiluhu

and drag him

إِلَىٰ

ila

into

سَوَآءِ

sawai

(the) midst

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(of) the Hellfire

٤٧

44:48

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

صُبُّواْ

subbu

pour

فَوۡقَ

fawqa

over

رَأۡسِهِۦ

rasihi

his head

مِنۡ

min

عَذَابِ

adhabi

(the) punishment

ٱلۡحَمِيمِ

al-hamimi

(of) the scalding water

٤٨

44:49

ذُقۡ

dhuq

Taste

إِنَّكَ

innaka

Indeed you

أَنتَ

anta

[you] (were)

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ

al-'azizu

the mighty

ٱلۡكَرِيمُ

al-karimu

the noble

٤٩

44:50

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

مَا

(is) what

كُنتُم

kuntum

you used to

بِهِۦ

bihi

[about it]

تَمۡتَرُونَ

tamtaruna

doubt

٥٠

44:51

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

al-mutaqina

the righteous

فِي

(will be) in

مَقَامٍ

maqamin

a place

أَمِينٖ

aminin

secure

٥١

44:52

فِي

جَنَّٰتٖ

jannatin

gardens

وَعُيُونٖ

wa'uyunin

and springs

٥٢

44:53

يَلۡبَسُونَ

yalbasuna

Wearing garments

مِن

min

سُندُسٖ

sundusin

fine silk

وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٖ

wa-is'tabraqin

and heavy silk

مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

mutaqabilina

facing each other

٥٣

44:54

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

Thus

وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم

wazawwajnahum

And We will marry them

بِحُورٍ

bihurin

(to) companions with beautiful eyes

عِينٖ

inin

(to) companions with beautiful eyes

٥٤

44:55

يَدۡعُونَ

yad'una

They will call

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

بِكُلِّ

bikulli

for every (kind)

فَٰكِهَةٍ

fakihatin

(of) fruit

ءَامِنِينَ

aminina

secure

٥٥

44:56

لَا

Not

يَذُوقُونَ

yadhuquna

they will taste

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

ٱلۡمَوۡتَ

al-mawta

the death

إِلَّا

illa

except

ٱلۡمَوۡتَةَ

al-mawtata

the death

ٱلۡأُولَىٰۖ

al-ula

the first

وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ

wawaqahum

And He will protect them

عَذَابَ

adhaba

(from the) punishment

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(of) the Hellfire

٥٦

44:57

فَضۡلٗا

fadlan

A Bounty

مِّن

min

from

رَّبِّكَۚ

rabbika

your Lord

ذَٰلِكَ

dhalika

That

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلۡفَوۡزُ

al-fawzu

(will be) the success

ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

al-'azimu

the great

٥٧

44:58

فَإِنَّمَا

fa-innama

Indeed

يَسَّرۡنَٰهُ

yassarnahu

We have made it easy

بِلِسَانِكَ

bilisanika

in your tongue

لَعَلَّهُمۡ

la'allahum

so that they may

يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

yatadhakkaruna

take heed

٥٨

44:59

فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ

fa-ir'taqib

So watch

إِنَّهُم

innahum

indeed they

مُّرۡتَقِبُونَ

mur'taqibuna

(too are) watching

حمٓ

ha-meem

Ha Meem

45:2

تَنزِيلُ

tanzilu

(The) revelation

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

al-kitabi

(of) the Book

مِنَ

mina

(is) from

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

ٱلۡعَزِيزِ

al-'azizi

the All-Mighty

ٱلۡحَكِيمِ

al-hakimi

the All-Wise

45:3

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

فِي

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

wal-ardi

and the earth

لَأٓيَٰتٖ

laayatin

surely (are) Signs

لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

lil'mu'minina

for the believers

45:4

وَفِي

wafi

And in

خَلۡقِكُمۡ

khalqikum

your creation

وَمَا

wama

and what

يَبُثُّ

yabuthu

He disperses

مِن

min

دَآبَّةٍ

dabbatin

(the) moving creatures

ءَايَٰتٞ

ayatun

(are) Signs

لِّقَوۡمٖ

liqawmin

for a people

يُوقِنُونَ

yuqinuna

who are certain

45:5

وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ

wa-ikh'tilafi

And (in the) alternation

ٱلَّيۡلِ

al-layli

(of) the night

وَٱلنَّهَارِ

wal-nahari

and the day

وَمَآ

wama

and what

أَنزَلَ

anzala

Allah sends down

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah sends down

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

al-samai

the sky

مِن

min

رِّزۡقٖ

riz'qin

(the) provision

فَأَحۡيَا

fa-ahya

and gives life

بِهِ

bihi

thereby

ٱلۡأَرۡضَ

al-arda

(to) the earth

بَعۡدَ

ba'da

after

مَوۡتِهَا

mawtiha

its death

وَتَصۡرِيفِ

watasrifi

and (in) directing

ٱلرِّيَٰحِ

al-riyahi

(the) winds

ءَايَٰتٞ

ayatun

(are) Signs

لِّقَوۡمٖ

liqawmin

for a people

يَعۡقِلُونَ

ya'qiluna

who reason

45:6

تِلۡكَ

til'ka

These

ءَايَٰتُ

ayatu

(are the) Verses

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

نَتۡلُوهَا

natluha

We recite them

عَلَيۡكَ

alayka

to you

بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ

bil-haqi

in truth

فَبِأَيِّ

fabi-ayyi

Then in what

حَدِيثِۭ

hadithin

statement

بَعۡدَ

ba'da

after

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ

waayatihi

and His Verses

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

yu'minuna

will they believe

45:7

وَيۡلٞ

waylun

Woe

لِّكُلِّ

likulli

to every

أَفَّاكٍ

affakin

liar

أَثِيمٖ

athimin

sinful
