One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

38:52

۞وَعِندَهُمۡ

wa'indahum

And with them

قَٰصِرَٰتُ

qasiratu

(will be) companions of modest gaze

ٱلطَّرۡفِ

al-tarfi

(will be) companions of modest gaze

أَتۡرَابٌ

atrabun

well-matched

٥٢

38:53

هَٰذَا

hadha

This

مَا

(is) what

تُوعَدُونَ

tu'aduna

you are promised

لِيَوۡمِ

liyawmi

for (the) Day

ٱلۡحِسَابِ

al-hisabi

(of) Account

٥٣

38:54

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

لَرِزۡقُنَا

lariz'quna

(is) surely Our provision

مَا

not

لَهُۥ

lahu

for it

مِن

min

any

نَّفَادٍ

nafadin

depletion

٥٤

38:55

هَٰذَاۚ

hadha

This (is so)

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

لِلطَّٰغِينَ

lilttaghina

for the transgressors

لَشَرَّ

lasharra

surely (is) an evil

مَـَٔابٖ

maabin

place of return

٥٥

38:56

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

Hell

يَصۡلَوۡنَهَا

yaslawnaha

they will burn therein

فَبِئۡسَ

fabi'sa

and wretched (is)

ٱلۡمِهَادُ

al-mihadu

the resting place

٥٦

38:57

هَٰذَا

hadha

This (is so)

فَلۡيَذُوقُوهُ

falyadhuquhu

Then let them taste it

حَمِيمٞ

hamimun

boiling fluid

وَغَسَّاقٞ

waghassaqun

and purulence

٥٧

38:58

وَءَاخَرُ

waakharu

And other

مِن

min

شَكۡلِهِۦٓ

shaklihi

its type

أَزۡوَٰجٌ

azwajun

(of various) kinds

٥٨

38:59

هَٰذَا

hadha

This

فَوۡجٞ

fawjun

(is) a company

مُّقۡتَحِمٞ

muq'tahimun

bursting

مَّعَكُمۡ

ma'akum

(in) with you

لَا

مَرۡحَبَۢا

marhaban

welcome

بِهِمۡۚ

bihim

for them

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

Indeed they

صَالُواْ

salu

(will) burn

ٱلنَّارِ

al-nari

(in) the Fire

٥٩

38:60

قَالُواْ

qalu

They say

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

أَنتُمۡ

antum

You

لَا

مَرۡحَبَۢا

marhaban

welcome

بِكُمۡۖ

bikum

for you

أَنتُمۡ

antum

You

قَدَّمۡتُمُوهُ

qaddamtumuhu

brought this

لَنَاۖ

lana

upon us

فَبِئۡسَ

fabi'sa

So wretched (is)

ٱلۡقَرَارُ

al-qararu

the settlement

٦٠

38:61

قَالُواْ

qalu

They will say

رَبَّنَا

rabbana

Our Lord

مَن

man

whoever

قَدَّمَ

qaddama

brought

لَنَا

lana

upon us

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

فَزِدۡهُ

fazid'hu

increase for him

عَذَابٗا

adhaban

a punishment

ضِعۡفٗا

di'fan

double

فِي

ٱلنَّارِ

al-nari

the Fire

٦١

38:62

وَقَالُواْ

waqalu

And they (will) say

مَا

What (is)

لَنَا

lana

for us

لَا

not

نَرَىٰ

nara

we see

رِجَالٗا

rijalan

men

كُنَّا

kunna

we used to

نَعُدُّهُم

na'udduhum

count them

مِّنَ

mina

among

ٱلۡأَشۡرَارِ

al-ashrari

the bad ones

٦٢

38:63

أَتَّخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ

attakhadhnahum

Did we take them

سِخۡرِيًّا

sikh'riyyan

(in) ridicule

أَمۡ

زَاغَتۡ

zaghat

has turned away

عَنۡهُمُ

anhumu

from them

ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ

al-absaru

the vision

٦٣

38:64

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ذَٰلِكَ

dhalika

that

لَحَقّٞ

lahaqqun

(is) surely (the) truth

تَخَاصُمُ

takhasumu

(the) quarreling

أَهۡلِ

ahli

(of the) people

ٱلنَّارِ

al-nari

(of) the Fire

٦٤

38:65

قُلۡ

qul

Say

إِنَّمَآ

innama

Only

أَنَا۠

ana

I am

مُنذِرٞۖ

mundhirun

a warner

وَمَا

wama

and not

مِنۡ

min

(is there) any

إِلَٰهٍ

ilahin

god

إِلَّا

illa

except

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah

ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ

al-wahidu

the One

ٱلۡقَهَّارُ

al-qaharu

the Irresistible

٦٥

38:66

رَبُّ

rabbu

Lord

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

(of) the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ

wal-ardi

and the earth

وَمَا

wama

and whatever

بَيۡنَهُمَا

baynahuma

(is) between them

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ

al-'azizu

the All-Mighty

ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ

al-ghafaru

the Oft-Forgiving

٦٦

38:67

قُلۡ

qul

Say

هُوَ

huwa

It (is)

نَبَؤٌاْ

naba-on

a news

عَظِيمٌ

azimun

great

٦٧

38:68

أَنتُمۡ

antum

You

عَنۡهُ

anhu

from it

مُعۡرِضُونَ

mu'riduna

turn away

٦٨

38:69

مَا

Not

كَانَ

kana

لِيَ

liya

for me

مِنۡ

min

any

عِلۡمِۭ

il'min

knowledge

بِٱلۡمَلَإِ

bil-mala-i

(of) the chiefs

ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰٓ

al-a'la

the exalted

إِذۡ

idh

when

يَخۡتَصِمُونَ

yakhtasimuna

they were disputing

٦٩

38:70

إِن

Not

يُوحَىٰٓ

yuha

has been revealed

إِلَيَّ

ilayya

to me

إِلَّآ

illa

except

أَنَّمَآ

annama

that only

أَنَا۠

ana

I am

نَذِيرٞ

nadhirun

a warner

مُّبِينٌ

mubinun

clear

٧٠

38:71

إِذۡ

idh

When

قَالَ

qala

said

رَبُّكَ

rabbuka

your Lord

لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ

lil'malaikati

to the Angels

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I Am

خَٰلِقُۢ

khaliqun

going to create

بَشَرٗا

basharan

a human being

مِّن

min

from

طِينٖ

tinin

clay

٧١

38:72

فَإِذَا

fa-idha

So when

سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ

sawwaytuhu

I have proportioned him

وَنَفَخۡتُ

wanafakhtu

and breathed

فِيهِ

fihi

into him

مِن

min

رُّوحِي

ruhi

My spirit

فَقَعُواْ

faqa'u

then fall down

لَهُۥ

lahu

to him

سَٰجِدِينَ

sajidina

prostrating

٧٢

38:73

فَسَجَدَ

fasajada

So prostrated

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ

al-malaikatu

the Angels

كُلُّهُمۡ

kulluhum

all of them

أَجۡمَعُونَ

ajma'una

together

٧٣

38:74

إِلَّآ

illa

Except

إِبۡلِيسَ

ib'lisa

Iblis

ٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ

is'takbara

he was arrogant

وَكَانَ

wakana

and became

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

al-kafirina

the disbelievers

٧٤

38:75

قَالَ

qala

He said

يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ

yaib'lisu

O Iblis

مَا

What

مَنَعَكَ

mana'aka

prevented you

أَن

that

تَسۡجُدَ

tasjuda

you (should) prostrate

لِمَا

lima

to (one) whom

خَلَقۡتُ

khalaqtu

I created

بِيَدَيَّۖ

biyadayya

with My Hands

أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ

astakbarta

Are you arrogant

أَمۡ

كُنتَ

kunta

are you

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡعَالِينَ

al-'alina

the exalted ones

٧٥

38:76

قَالَ

qala

He said

أَنَا۠

ana

I am

خَيۡرٞ

khayrun

better

مِّنۡهُ

min'hu

than him

خَلَقۡتَنِي

khalaqtani

You created me

مِن

min

from

نَّارٖ

narin

fire

وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ

wakhalaqtahu

and You created him

مِن

min

from

طِينٖ

tinin

clay

٧٦

38:77

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَٱخۡرُجۡ

fa-ukh'ruj

Then get out

مِنۡهَا

min'ha

of it

فَإِنَّكَ

fa-innaka

for indeed you

رَجِيمٞ

rajimun

(are) accursed

٧٧

38:78

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

عَلَيۡكَ

alayka

upon you

لَعۡنَتِيٓ

la'nati

(is) My curse

إِلَىٰ

ila

until

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

ٱلدِّينِ

al-dini

(of) Judgment

٧٨

38:79

قَالَ

qala

He said

رَبِّ

rabbi

My Lord

فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ

fa-anzir'ni

Then give me respite

إِلَىٰ

ila

until

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

يُبۡعَثُونَ

yub'athuna

they are resurrected

٧٩

38:80

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَإِنَّكَ

fa-innaka

Then indeed you

مِنَ

mina

(are) of

ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ

al-munzarina

those given respite

٨٠

38:81

إِلَىٰ

ila

Until

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

ٱلۡوَقۡتِ

al-waqti

(of) the time

ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ

al-ma'lumi

well-known

٨١

38:82

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَبِعِزَّتِكَ

fabi'izzatika

Then by Your might

لَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ

la-ugh'wiyannahum

I will surely mislead them

أَجۡمَعِينَ

ajma'ina

all

٨٢

38:83

إِلَّا

illa

Except

عِبَادَكَ

ibadaka

Your slaves

مِنۡهُمُ

min'humu

among them

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the chosen ones

٨٣

38:84

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَٱلۡحَقُّ

fal-haqu

Then (it is) the truth

وَٱلۡحَقَّ

wal-haqa

and the truth

أَقُولُ

aqulu

I say

٨٤

38:85

لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ

la-amla-anna

Surely I will fill

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

Hell

مِنكَ

minka

with you

وَمِمَّن

wamimman

and those who

تَبِعَكَ

tabi'aka

follow you

مِنۡهُمۡ

min'hum

among them

أَجۡمَعِينَ

ajma'ina

all

٨٥

38:86

قُلۡ

qul

Say

مَآ

Not

أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ

asalukum

I ask of you

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

for it

مِنۡ

min

any

أَجۡرٖ

ajrin

payment

وَمَآ

wama

and not

أَنَا۠

ana

I am

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡمُتَكَلِّفِينَ

al-mutakalifina

the ones who pretend

٨٦

38:87

إِنۡ

Not

هُوَ

huwa

it (is)

إِلَّا

illa

except

ذِكۡرٞ

dhik'run

a Reminder

لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

lil'alamina

to the worlds

٨٧

38:88

وَلَتَعۡلَمُنَّ

walata'lamunna

And surely you will know

نَبَأَهُۥ

naba-ahu

its information

بَعۡدَ

ba'da

after

حِينِۭ

hinin

a time

٨٨

39:1

تَنزِيلُ

tanzilu

(The) revelation

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

al-kitabi

(of) the Book

مِنَ

mina

(is) from

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

ٱلۡعَزِيزِ

al-'azizi

the All-Mighty

ٱلۡحَكِيمِ

al-hakimi

the All-Wise

39:2

إِنَّآ

inna

Indeed We

أَنزَلۡنَآ

anzalna

[We] have revealed

إِلَيۡكَ

ilayka

to you

ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ

al-kitaba

the Book

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-haqi

in truth

فَٱعۡبُدِ

fa-u'budi

so worship

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

مُخۡلِصٗا

mukh'lisan

(being) sincere

لَّهُ

lahu

to Him

ٱلدِّينَ

al-dina

(in) the religion

39:3

أَلَا

ala

Unquestionably

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

for Allah

ٱلدِّينُ

al-dinu

(is) the religion

ٱلۡخَالِصُۚ

al-khalisu

the pure

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhina

And those who

ٱتَّخَذُواْ

ittakhadhu

take

مِن

min

besides Him

دُونِهِۦٓ

dunihi

besides Him

أَوۡلِيَآءَ

awliyaa

protectors

مَا

Not

نَعۡبُدُهُمۡ

na'buduhum

we worship them

إِلَّا

illa

except

لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ

liyuqarribuna

that they may bring us near

إِلَى

ila

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

زُلۡفَىٰٓ

zul'fa

(in) nearness

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

يَحۡكُمُ

yahkumu

will judge

بَيۡنَهُمۡ

baynahum

between them

فِي

مَا

what

هُمۡ

hum

they

فِيهِ

fihi

[in it]

يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ

yakhtalifuna

differ

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

لَا

(does) not

يَهۡدِي

yahdi

guide

مَنۡ

man

(one) who

هُوَ

huwa

[he]

كَٰذِبٞ

kadhibun

(is) a liar

كَفَّارٞ

kaffarun

and a disbeliever

39:4

لَّوۡ

law

أَرَادَ

arada

Allah (had) intended

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah (had) intended

أَن

يَتَّخِذَ

yattakhidha

take

وَلَدٗا

waladan

a son

لَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ

la-is'tafa

surely He (could) have chosen

مِمَّا

mimma

from what

يَخۡلُقُ

yakhluqu

He creates

مَا

whatever

يَشَآءُۚ

yashau

He willed

سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ

sub'hanahu

Glory be to Him

هُوَ

huwa

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

(is) Allah

ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ

al-wahidu

the One

ٱلۡقَهَّارُ

al-qaharu

the Irresistible

39:5

خَلَقَ

khalaqa

He created

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

wal-arda

and the earth

بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ

bil-haqi

in [the] truth

يُكَوِّرُ

yukawwiru

He wraps

ٱلَّيۡلَ

al-layla

the night

عَلَى

ala

over

ٱلنَّهَارِ

al-nahari

the day

وَيُكَوِّرُ

wayukawwiru

and wraps

ٱلنَّهَارَ

al-nahara

the day

عَلَى

ala

over

ٱلَّيۡلِۖ

al-layli

the night

وَسَخَّرَ

wasakhara

And He subjected

ٱلشَّمۡسَ

al-shamsa

the sun

وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ

wal-qamara

and the moon

كُلّٞ

kullun

each

يَجۡرِي

yajri

running

لِأَجَلٖ

li-ajalin

for a term

مُّسَمًّىۗ

musamman

specified

أَلَا

ala

Unquestionably

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلۡعَزِيزُ

al-'azizu

(is) the All-Mighty

ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ

al-ghafaru

the Oft-Forgiving

39:6

خَلَقَكُم

khalaqakum

He created you

مِّن

min

from

نَّفۡسٖ

nafsin

a soul

وَٰحِدَةٖ

wahidatin

single

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

جَعَلَ

ja'ala

He made

مِنۡهَا

min'ha

from it

زَوۡجَهَا

zawjaha

its mate

وَأَنزَلَ

wa-anzala

And He sent down

لَكُم

lakum

for you

مِّنَ

mina

ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ

al-an'ami

the cattle

ثَمَٰنِيَةَ

thamaniyata

eight

أَزۡوَٰجٖۚ

azwajin

kinds

يَخۡلُقُكُمۡ

yakhluqukum

He creates you

فِي

بُطُونِ

butuni

(the) wombs

أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ

ummahatikum

(of) your mothers

خَلۡقٗا

khalqan

creation

مِّنۢ

min

after

بَعۡدِ

ba'di

after

خَلۡقٖ

khalqin

creation

فِي

ظُلُمَٰتٖ

zulumatin

darkness[es]

ثَلَٰثٖۚ

thalathin

three

ذَٰلِكُمُ

dhalikumu

That

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

(is) Allah

رَبُّكُمۡ

rabbukum

your Lord

لَهُ

lahu

for Him

ٱلۡمُلۡكُۖ

al-mul'ku

(is) the dominion

لَآ

(There is) no

إِلَٰهَ

ilaha

god

إِلَّا

illa

except

هُوَۖ

huwa

فَأَنَّىٰ

fa-anna

Then how

تُصۡرَفُونَ

tus'rafuna

are you turning away

39:7

إِن

تَكۡفُرُواْ

takfuru

you disbelieve

فَإِنَّ

fa-inna

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

غَنِيٌّ

ghaniyyun

(is) free from need

عَنكُمۡۖ

ankum

of you

وَلَا

wala

And not

يَرۡضَىٰ

yarda

He likes

لِعِبَادِهِ

li'ibadihi

in His slaves

ٱلۡكُفۡرَۖ

al-kuf'ra

ungratefulness

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

تَشۡكُرُواْ

tashkuru

you are grateful

يَرۡضَهُ

yardahu

He likes it

لَكُمۡۗ

lakum

in you

وَلَا

wala

And not

تَزِرُ

taziru

will bear

وَازِرَةٞ

waziratun

bearer of burdens

وِزۡرَ

wiz'ra

(the) burden

أُخۡرَىٰۚ

ukh'ra

(of) another

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِلَىٰ

ila

رَبِّكُم

rabbikum

your Lord

مَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ

marji'ukum

(is) your return

فَيُنَبِّئُكُم

fayunabbi-ukum

then He will inform you

بِمَا

bima

about what

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

you used to

تَعۡمَلُونَۚ

ta'maluna

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed He

عَلِيمُۢ

alimun

(is) the All-Knower

بِذَاتِ

bidhati

of what (is) in the breasts

ٱلصُّدُورِ

al-suduri

of what (is) in the breasts
