One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

37:83

۞وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

مِن

min

among

شِيعَتِهِۦ

shi'atihi

his kind

لَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

la-ib'rahima

(was) surely Ibrahim

٨٣

37:84

إِذۡ

idh

When

جَآءَ

jaa

he came

رَبَّهُۥ

rabbahu

(to) his Lord

بِقَلۡبٖ

biqalbin

with a heart

سَلِيمٍ

salimin

sound

٨٤

37:85

إِذۡ

idh

When

قَالَ

qala

he said

لِأَبِيهِ

li-abihi

to his father

وَقَوۡمِهِۦ

waqawmihi

and his people

مَاذَا

madha

What is it

تَعۡبُدُونَ

ta'buduna

you worship

٨٥

37:86

أَئِفۡكًا

a-if'kan

Is it falsehood

ءَالِهَةٗ

alihatan

gods

دُونَ

duna

other than

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

تُرِيدُونَ

turiduna

(that) you desire

٨٦

37:87

فَمَا

fama

Then what

ظَنُّكُم

zannukum

(do) you think

بِرَبِّ

birabbi

about (the) Lord

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

al-'alamina

(of) the worlds

٨٧

37:88

فَنَظَرَ

fanazara

Then he glanced

نَظۡرَةٗ

nazratan

a glance

فِي

ٱلنُّجُومِ

al-nujumi

the stars

٨٨

37:89

فَقَالَ

faqala

And he said

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I am

سَقِيمٞ

saqimun

sick

٨٩

37:90

فَتَوَلَّوۡاْ

fatawallaw

So they turned away

عَنۡهُ

anhu

from him

مُدۡبِرِينَ

mud'birina

departing

٩٠

37:91

فَرَاغَ

faragha

Then he turned

إِلَىٰٓ

ila

ءَالِهَتِهِمۡ

alihatihim

their gods

فَقَالَ

faqala

and said

أَلَا

ala

Do not

تَأۡكُلُونَ

takuluna

you eat

٩١

37:92

مَا

What (is)

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

لَا

not

تَنطِقُونَ

tantiquna

you speak

٩٢

37:93

فَرَاغَ

faragha

Then he turned

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

alayhim

upon them

ضَرۡبَۢا

darban

striking

بِٱلۡيَمِينِ

bil-yamini

with the right hand

٩٣

37:94

فَأَقۡبَلُوٓاْ

fa-aqbalu

Then they advanced

إِلَيۡهِ

ilayhi

towards him

يَزِفُّونَ

yaziffuna

hastening

٩٤

37:95

قَالَ

qala

He said

أَتَعۡبُدُونَ

ata'buduna

Do you worship

مَا

what

تَنۡحِتُونَ

tanhituna

you carve

٩٥

37:96

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

While Allah

خَلَقَكُمۡ

khalaqakum

created you

وَمَا

wama

and what

تَعۡمَلُونَ

ta'maluna

you make

٩٦

37:97

قَالُواْ

qalu

They said

ٱبۡنُواْ

ib'nu

Build

لَهُۥ

lahu

for him

بُنۡيَٰنٗا

bun'yanan

a structure

فَأَلۡقُوهُ

fa-alquhu

and throw him

فِي

into

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

the blazing Fire

٩٧

37:98

فَأَرَادُواْ

fa-aradu

And they intended

بِهِۦ

bihi

for him

كَيۡدٗا

kaydan

a plot

فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ

faja'alnahumu

but We made them

ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ

al-asfalina

the lowest

٩٨

37:99

وَقَالَ

waqala

And he said

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I am

ذَاهِبٌ

dhahibun

going

إِلَىٰ

ila

رَبِّي

rabbi

my Lord

سَيَهۡدِينِ

sayahdini

He will guide me

٩٩

37:100

رَبِّ

rabbi

My Lord

هَبۡ

hab

grant

لِي

مِنَ

mina

ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

al-salihina

the righteous

١٠٠

37:101

فَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ

fabasharnahu

So We gave him the glad tidings

بِغُلَٰمٍ

bighulamin

of a boy

حَلِيمٖ

halimin

forbearing

١٠١

37:102

فَلَمَّا

falamma

Then when

بَلَغَ

balagha

he reached

مَعَهُ

ma'ahu

the (age of) working with him

ٱلسَّعۡيَ

al-sa'ya

the (age of) working with him

قَالَ

qala

he said

يَٰبُنَيَّ

yabunayya

O my son

إِنِّيٓ

inni

Indeed I

أَرَىٰ

ara

have seen

فِي

ٱلۡمَنَامِ

al-manami

the dream

أَنِّيٓ

anni

that I am

أَذۡبَحُكَ

adhbahuka

sacrificing you

فَٱنظُرۡ

fa-unzur

so look

مَاذَا

madha

what

تَرَىٰۚ

tara

you see

قَالَ

qala

He said

يَٰٓأَبَتِ

yaabati

O my father

ٱفۡعَلۡ

if'al

مَا

what

تُؤۡمَرُۖ

tu'maru

you are commanded

سَتَجِدُنِيٓ

satajiduni

You will find me

إِن

شَآءَ

shaa

Allah wills

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah wills

مِنَ

mina

ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

al-sabirina

the patient ones

Page 450

37:103

فَلَمَّآ

falamma

Then when

أَسۡلَمَا

aslama

both of them had submitted

وَتَلَّهُۥ

watallahu

and he put him down

لِلۡجَبِينِ

lil'jabini

upon his forehead

١٠٣

37:104

وَنَٰدَيۡنَٰهُ

wanadaynahu

And We called out to him

أَن

that

يَٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُ

yaib'rahimu

O Ibrahim

١٠٤

37:105

قَدۡ

qad

Verily

صَدَّقۡتَ

saddaqta

you have fulfilled

ٱلرُّءۡيَآۚ

al-ru'ya

the vision

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

thus

نَجۡزِي

najzi

[We] reward

ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

al-muh'sinina

the good-doers

١٠٥

37:106

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

لَهُوَ

lahuwa

(was) surely [it]

ٱلۡبَلَٰٓؤُاْ

al-balau

the trial

ٱلۡمُبِينُ

al-mubinu

clear

١٠٦

37:107

وَفَدَيۡنَٰهُ

wafadaynahu

And We ransomed him

بِذِبۡحٍ

bidhib'hin

with a sacrifice

عَظِيمٖ

azimin

great

١٠٧

37:108

وَتَرَكۡنَا

watarakna

And We left

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

for him

فِي

among

ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

al-akhirina

the later generations

١٠٨

37:109

سَلَٰمٌ

salamun

Peace be

عَلَىٰٓ

ala

إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

ib'rahima

Ibrahim

١٠٩

37:110

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

Thus

نَجۡزِي

najzi

We reward

ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

al-muh'sinina

the good-doers

١١٠

37:111

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed he (was)

مِنۡ

min

عِبَادِنَا

ibadina

Our slaves

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

al-mu'minina

believing

١١١

37:112

وَبَشَّرۡنَٰهُ

wabasharnahu

And We gave him glad tidings

بِإِسۡحَٰقَ

bi-is'haqa

of Isaac

نَبِيّٗا

nabiyyan

a Prophet

مِّنَ

mina

among

ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

al-salihina

the righteous

١١٢

37:113

وَبَٰرَكۡنَا

wabarakna

And We blessed

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

him

وَعَلَىٰٓ

wa'ala

and [on]

إِسۡحَٰقَۚ

is'haqa

Isaac

وَمِن

wamin

And of

ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا

dhurriyyatihima

their offspring

مُحۡسِنٞ

muh'sinun

(are) good-doers

وَظَالِمٞ

wazalimun

and unjust

لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ

linafsihi

to himself

مُبِينٞ

mubinun

clear

١١٣

37:114

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

مَنَنَّا

mananna

We conferred Favor

عَلَىٰ

ala

upon

مُوسَىٰ

musa

Musa

وَهَٰرُونَ

waharuna

and Harun

١١٤

37:115

وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُمَا

wanajjaynahuma

And We saved both of them

وَقَوۡمَهُمَا

waqawmahuma

and their people

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلۡكَرۡبِ

al-karbi

the distress

ٱلۡعَظِيمِ

al-'azimi

the great

١١٥

37:116

وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُمۡ

wanasarnahum

And We helped them

فَكَانُواْ

fakanu

so they became

هُمُ

humu

so they became

ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ

al-ghalibina

the victors

١١٦

37:117

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمَا

waataynahuma

And We gave both of them

ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ

al-kitaba

the Book

ٱلۡمُسۡتَبِينَ

al-mus'tabina

the clear

١١٧

37:118

وَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمَا

wahadaynahuma

And We guided both of them

ٱلصِّرَٰطَ

al-sirata

(to) the Path

ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

al-mus'taqima

the Straight

١١٨

37:119

وَتَرَكۡنَا

watarakna

And We left

عَلَيۡهِمَا

alayhima

for both of them

فِي

among

ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

al-akhirina

the later generations

١١٩

37:120

سَلَٰمٌ

salamun

Peace be

عَلَىٰ

ala

upon

مُوسَىٰ

musa

Musa

وَهَٰرُونَ

waharuna

and Harun

١٢٠

37:121

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

thus

نَجۡزِي

najzi

reward

ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

al-muh'sinina

the good-doers

١٢١

37:122

إِنَّهُمَا

innahuma

Indeed both of them

مِنۡ

min

(were) of

عِبَادِنَا

ibadina

Our slaves

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

al-mu'minina

believing

١٢٢

37:123

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

إِلۡيَاسَ

il'yasa

Elijah

لَمِنَ

lamina

(was) surely of

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

al-mur'salina

the Messengers

١٢٣

37:124

إِذۡ

idh

When

قَالَ

qala

he said

لِقَوۡمِهِۦٓ

liqawmihi

to his people

أَلَا

ala

Will not

تَتَّقُونَ

tattaquna

you fear

١٢٤

37:125

أَتَدۡعُونَ

atad'una

Do you call

بَعۡلٗا

ba'lan

Baal

وَتَذَرُونَ

watadharuna

and you forsake

أَحۡسَنَ

ahsana

(the) Best

ٱلۡخَٰلِقِينَ

al-khaliqina

(of) Creators

١٢٥

37:126

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

رَبَّكُمۡ

rabbakum

your Lord

وَرَبَّ

warabba

and (the) Lord

ءَابَآئِكُمُ

abaikumu

(of) your forefathers

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

al-awalina

(of) your forefathers

١٢٦

37:127

فَكَذَّبُوهُ

fakadhabuhu

But they denied him

فَإِنَّهُمۡ

fa-innahum

so indeed they

لَمُحۡضَرُونَ

lamuh'daruna

(will) surely be brought

١٢٧

37:128

إِلَّا

illa

Except

عِبَادَ

ibada

(the) slaves

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the chosen ones

١٢٨

37:129

وَتَرَكۡنَا

watarakna

And We left

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

for him

فِي

among

ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

al-akhirina

the later generations

١٢٩

37:130

سَلَٰمٌ

salamun

Peace be

عَلَىٰٓ

ala

upon

إِلۡ يَاسِينَ

ilyasin

Elijah

١٣٠

37:131

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

thus

نَجۡزِي

najzi

reward

ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

al-muh'sinina

the good-doers

١٣١

37:132

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed he (was)

مِنۡ

min

عِبَادِنَا

ibadina

Our slaves

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

al-mu'minina

believing

١٣٢
