One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

37:22

۞ٱحۡشُرُواْ

uh'shuru

Gather

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

ظَلَمُواْ

zalamu

wronged

وَأَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ

wa-azwajahum

and their kinds

وَمَا

wama

and what

كَانُواْ

kanu

they used (to)

يَعۡبُدُونَ

ya'buduna

worship

٢٢

37:23

مِن

min

Besides

دُونِ

duni

Besides

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

فَٱهۡدُوهُمۡ

fa-ih'duhum

then lead them

إِلَىٰ

ila

صِرَٰطِ

sirati

(the) Path

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(of) the Hellfire

٢٣

37:24

وَقِفُوهُمۡۖ

waqifuhum

And stop them

إِنَّهُم

innahum

indeed they

مَّسۡـُٔولُونَ

masuluna

(are) to be questioned

مَا

What

لَكُمۡ

lakum

(is) for you

لَا

(Why) not

تَنَاصَرُونَ

tanasaruna

you help one another

٢٥

37:26

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

هُمُ

humu

they

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ

al-yawma

(on) that Day

مُسۡتَسۡلِمُونَ

mus'taslimuna

(will) surrender

٢٦

37:27

وَأَقۡبَلَ

wa-aqbala

And will approach

بَعۡضُهُمۡ

ba'duhum

some of them

عَلَىٰ

ala

بَعۡضٖ

ba'din

others

يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

yatasaaluna

questioning one another

٢٧

37:28

قَالُوٓاْ

qalu

They will say

إِنَّكُمۡ

innakum

Indeed you

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

[you] used (to)

تَأۡتُونَنَا

tatunana

come (to) us

عَنِ

ani

from

ٱلۡيَمِينِ

al-yamini

the right

٢٨

37:29

قَالُواْ

qalu

They will say

بَل

bal

Nay

لَّمۡ

lam

not

تَكُونُواْ

takunu

you were

مُؤۡمِنِينَ

mu'minina

believers

٢٩

37:30

وَمَا

wama

And not

كَانَ

kana

was

لَنَا

lana

for us

عَلَيۡكُم

alaykum

over you

مِّن

min

any

سُلۡطَٰنِۭۖ

sul'tanin

authority

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

you were

قَوۡمٗا

qawman

a people

طَٰغِينَ

taghina

transgressing

٣٠

37:31

فَحَقَّ

fahaqqa

So has been proved true

عَلَيۡنَا

alayna

against us

قَوۡلُ

qawlu

(the) Word

رَبِّنَآۖ

rabbina

(of) our Lord

إِنَّا

inna

indeed we

لَذَآئِقُونَ

ladhaiquna

(will) certainly taste

٣١

37:32

فَأَغۡوَيۡنَٰكُمۡ

fa-aghwaynakum

So we led you astray

إِنَّا

inna

indeed we

كُنَّا

kunna

were

غَٰوِينَ

ghawina

astray

٣٢

37:33

فَإِنَّهُمۡ

fa-innahum

Then indeed they

يَوۡمَئِذٖ

yawma-idhin

that Day

فِي

ٱلۡعَذَابِ

al-'adhabi

the punishment

مُشۡتَرِكُونَ

mush'tarikuna

(will be) sharers

٣٣

37:34

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

thus

نَفۡعَلُ

naf 'alu

We deal

بِٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

bil-muj'rimina

with the criminals

٣٤

37:35

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

Indeed they

كَانُوٓاْ

kanu

were

إِذَا

idha

when

قِيلَ

qila

it was said

لَهُمۡ

lahum

to them

لَآ

(There is) no

إِلَٰهَ

ilaha

god

إِلَّا

illa

except

ٱللَّهُ

al-lahu

Allah

يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ

yastakbiruna

were arrogant

٣٥

37:36

وَيَقُولُونَ

wayaquluna

And they say

أَئِنَّا

a-inna

Are we

لَتَارِكُوٓاْ

latariku

to leave

ءَالِهَتِنَا

alihatina

our gods

لِشَاعِرٖ

lisha'irin

for a poet

مَّجۡنُونِۭ

majnunin

mad

٣٦

37:37

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

جَآءَ

jaa

he has brought

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-haqi

the truth

وَصَدَّقَ

wasaddaqa

and confirmed

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

al-mur'salina

the Messengers

٣٧

37:38

إِنَّكُمۡ

innakum

Indeed you

لَذَآئِقُواْ

ladhaiqu

(will) surely taste

ٱلۡعَذَابِ

al-'adhabi

the punishment

ٱلۡأَلِيمِ

al-alimi

painful

٣٨

37:39

وَمَا

wama

And not

تُجۡزَوۡنَ

tuj'zawna

you will be recompensed

إِلَّا

illa

except

مَا

what

كُنتُمۡ

kuntum

you used to

تَعۡمَلُونَ

ta'maluna

٣٩

37:40

إِلَّا

illa

Except

عِبَادَ

ibada

(the) slaves

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the chosen ones

٤٠

37:41

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ

ulaika

Those

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

رِزۡقٞ

riz'qun

(will be) a provision

مَّعۡلُومٞ

ma'lumun

determined

٤١

37:42

فَوَٰكِهُ

fawakihu

Fruits

وَهُم

wahum

and they

مُّكۡرَمُونَ

muk'ramuna

(will) be honored

٤٢

37:43

فِي

جَنَّٰتِ

jannati

Gardens

ٱلنَّعِيمِ

al-na'imi

(of) Delight

٤٣

37:44

عَلَىٰ

ala

سُرُرٖ

sururin

thrones

مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

mutaqabilina

facing each other

٤٤

37:45

يُطَافُ

yutafu

Will be circulated

عَلَيۡهِم

alayhim

among them

بِكَأۡسٖ

bikasin

a cup

مِّن

min

from

مَّعِينِۭ

ma'inin

a flowing spring

٤٥

37:46

بَيۡضَآءَ

baydaa

White

لَذَّةٖ

ladhatin

delicious

لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ

lilsharibina

for the drinkers

٤٦

37:47

لَا

Not

فِيهَا

fiha

in it

غَوۡلٞ

ghawlun

(is) bad effect

وَلَا

wala

and not

هُمۡ

hum

they

عَنۡهَا

anha

from it

يُنزَفُونَ

yunzafuna

will be intoxicated

٤٧

37:48

وَعِندَهُمۡ

wa'indahum

And with them

قَٰصِرَٰتُ

qasiratu

(will be) companions of modest gaze

ٱلطَّرۡفِ

al-tarfi

(will be) companions of modest gaze

عِينٞ

inun

(having) beautiful eyes

٤٨

37:49

كَأَنَّهُنَّ

ka-annahunna

As if they were

بَيۡضٞ

baydun

eggs

مَّكۡنُونٞ

maknunun

well protected

٤٩

37:50

فَأَقۡبَلَ

fa-aqbala

And (will) approach

بَعۡضُهُمۡ

ba'duhum

some of them

عَلَىٰ

ala

بَعۡضٖ

ba'din

others

يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

yatasaaluna

questioning one another

٥٠

37:51

قَالَ

qala

Will say

قَآئِلٞ

qailun

a speaker

مِّنۡهُمۡ

min'hum

among them

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I

كَانَ

kana

had

لِي

for me

قَرِينٞ

qarinun

a companion

يَقُولُ

yaqulu

Who (would) say

أَءِنَّكَ

a-innaka

Are you indeed

لَمِنَ

lamina

surely of

ٱلۡمُصَدِّقِينَ

al-musadiqina

those who believe

٥٢

37:53

أَءِذَا

a-idha

Is (it) when

مِتۡنَا

mit'na

we have died

وَكُنَّا

wakunna

and become

تُرَابٗا

turaban

dust

وَعِظَٰمًا

wa'izaman

and bones

أَءِنَّا

a-inna

will we

لَمَدِينُونَ

lamadinuna

surely be brought to Judgment

٥٣

37:54

قَالَ

qala

He (will) say

هَلۡ

hal

Will

أَنتُم

antum

you

مُّطَّلِعُونَ

muttali'una

be looking

٥٤

37:55

فَٱطَّلَعَ

fa-ittala'a

Then he (will) look

فَرَءَاهُ

faraahu

and see him

فِي

سَوَآءِ

sawai

(the) midst

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(of) the Hellfire

٥٥

37:56

قَالَ

qala

He (will) say

تَٱللَّهِ

tal-lahi

By Allah

إِن

verily

كِدتَّ

kidtta

you almost

لَتُرۡدِينِ

latur'dini

ruined me

٥٦

37:57

وَلَوۡلَا

walawla

And if not

نِعۡمَةُ

ni'matu

(for the) Grace

رَبِّي

rabbi

(of) my Lord

لَكُنتُ

lakuntu

certainly I (would) have been

مِنَ

mina

among

ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ

al-muh'darina

those brought

٥٧

37:58

أَفَمَا

afama

Then are not

نَحۡنُ

nahnu

بِمَيِّتِينَ

bimayyitina

(to) die

٥٨

37:59

إِلَّا

illa

Except

مَوۡتَتَنَا

mawtatana

our death

ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

al-ula

the first

وَمَا

wama

and not

نَحۡنُ

nahnu

بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

bimu'adhabina

will be punished

٥٩

37:60

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

هَٰذَا

hadha

this

لَهُوَ

lahuwa

surely

ٱلۡفَوۡزُ

al-fawzu

(is) the attainment

ٱلۡعَظِيمُ

al-'azimu

great

٦٠

37:61

لِمِثۡلِ

limith'li

For (the) like

هَٰذَا

hadha

(of) this

فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ

falya'mali

let work

ٱلۡعَٰمِلُونَ

al-'amiluna

the workers

٦١

37:62

أَذَٰلِكَ

adhalika

Is that

خَيۡرٞ

khayrun

better

نُّزُلًا

nuzulan

(as) hospitality

أَمۡ

شَجَرَةُ

shajaratu

(the) tree

ٱلزَّقُّومِ

al-zaqumi

(of) Zaqqum

٦٢

37:63

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

جَعَلۡنَٰهَا

ja'alnaha

[We] have made it

فِتۡنَةٗ

fit'natan

a trial

لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ

lilzzalimina

for the wrongdoers

٦٣

37:64

إِنَّهَا

innaha

Indeed it

شَجَرَةٞ

shajaratun

(is) a tree

تَخۡرُجُ

takhruju

that grows

فِيٓ

أَصۡلِ

asli

(the) bottom

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

(of) the Hellfire

٦٤

37:65

طَلۡعُهَا

tal'uha

Its emerging fruit

كَأَنَّهُۥ

ka-annahu

(is) as if it

رُءُوسُ

ruusu

(was) heads

ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ

al-shayatini

(of) the devils

٦٥

37:66

فَإِنَّهُمۡ

fa-innahum

And indeed they

لَأٓكِلُونَ

laakiluna

(will) surely eat

مِنۡهَا

min'ha

from it

فَمَالِـُٔونَ

famaliuna

and fill

مِنۡهَا

min'ha

with it

ٱلۡبُطُونَ

al-butuna

(their) bellies

٦٦

37:67

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِنَّ

inna

indeed

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

عَلَيۡهَا

alayha

in it

لَشَوۡبٗا

lashawban

(is) a mixture

مِّنۡ

min

حَمِيمٖ

hamimin

boiling water

٦٧

37:68

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

إِنَّ

inna

indeed

مَرۡجِعَهُمۡ

marji'ahum

their return

لَإِلَى

la-ila

(will) surely be to

ٱلۡجَحِيمِ

al-jahimi

the Hellfire

٦٨

37:69

إِنَّهُمۡ

innahum

Indeed they

أَلۡفَوۡاْ

alfaw

found

ءَابَآءَهُمۡ

abaahum

their fathers

ضَآلِّينَ

dallina

astray

٦٩

37:70

فَهُمۡ

fahum

So they

عَلَىٰٓ

ala

ءَاثَٰرِهِمۡ

atharihim

their footsteps

يُهۡرَعُونَ

yuh'ra'una

they hastened

٧٠

37:71

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

ضَلَّ

dalla

went astray

قَبۡلَهُمۡ

qablahum

before them

أَكۡثَرُ

aktharu

most

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

al-awalina

(of) the former (people)
