35:41

۞إِنَّ

ʹInnal

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

يُمۡسِكُ

yumsikus

upholds

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

wal-ʹarḍa

and the earth

أَن

ʹañ

lest

تَزُولَاۚ

tazoolaa:

they cease

وَلَئِن

wa-laʹiñ

And if

زَالَتَآ

zaalataaa

they should cease

إِنۡ

ʹin

not

أَمۡسَكَهُمَا

ʹamsakahumaa

can uphold them

مِنۡ

min

any

أَحَدٖ

ʹaḥadim

one

مِّنۢ

mim

after Him

بَعۡدِهِۦٓۚ

baʻdih:

after Him

إِنَّهُۥ

ʹinnahoo

Indeed He

كَانَ

kaana

حَلِيمًا

Ḥaleeman

Most Forbearing

غَفُورٗا

G̣afooraa!

Oft-Forgiving

٤١

35:42

وَأَقۡسَمُواْ

Wa-ʹaq̣samoo

And they swore

بِٱللَّهِ

billaahi

by Allah

جَهۡدَ

jahda

(the) strongest

أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ

ʹaymaanihim

(of) their oaths

لَئِن

laʹiñ

that if

جَآءَهُمۡ

jaaaʹahum

came to them

نَذِيرٞ

naẓeerul

a warner

لَّيَكُونُنَّ

layakoonunna

surely they would be

أَهۡدَىٰ

ʹahdaa

more guided

مِنۡ

min

than

إِحۡدَى

ʹiḥdal

any

ٱلۡأُمَمِۖ

ʹUmami

(of) the nations

فَلَمَّا

falammaa

But when

جَآءَهُمۡ

jaaaʹahum

came to them

نَذِيرٞ

naẓeerum

a warner

مَّا

maa

not

زَادَهُمۡ

zaadahum

it increased them

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

but

نُفُورًا

nufooraa,―

(in) aversion

٤٢

35:43

ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا

ʹIstikbaarañ

(Due to) arrogance

فِي

fil

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

ʹarḍi

the land

وَمَكۡرَ

wa-makras

and plotting

ٱلسَّيِّيِٕۚ

Sayyiʹ.

(of) the evil

وَلَا

Wa-laa

but not

يَحِيقُ

yaḥeeq̣ul

encompasses

ٱلۡمَكۡرُ

makrus

the plot

ٱلسَّيِّئُ

Sayyiʹu

(of) the evil

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ

biʹahlih.

its own people

فَهَلۡ

Fahal

Then do

يَنظُرُونَ

yañz̤̣uroona

they wait

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

سُنَّتَ

sunnatal

(the) way

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَۚ

ʹawwaleen?

(of) the former (people)

فَلَن

Falañ

But never

تَجِدَ

tajida

you will find

لِسُنَّتِ

li-Sunnatil

in (the) way

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

تَبۡدِيلٗاۖ

tabdeelaa:

any change

وَلَن

wa-lañ

and never

تَجِدَ

tajida

you will find

لِسُنَّتِ

li-Sunnatil

in (the) way

ٱللَّهِ

laahi

(of) Allah

تَحۡوِيلًا

taḥweelaa.

any alteration

٤٣

35:44

أَوَلَمۡ

ʹAwalam

Have they not

يَسِيرُواْ

yaseeroo

traveled

فِي

fil

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

ʹarḍi

the land

فَيَنظُرُواْ

fayañz̤̣uroo

and seen

كَيۡفَ

kayfa

how

كَانَ

kaana

was

عَٰقِبَةُ

ʻAaq̣ibatul

(the) end

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

(of) those who

مِن

miñ

(were) before them

قَبۡلِهِمۡ

q̣ablihim

(were) before them

وَكَانُوٓاْ

wa-kaanooo

And they were

أَشَدَّ

ʹashadda

stronger

مِنۡهُمۡ

minhum

than them

قُوَّةٗۚ

q̣uwwah?

(in) power

وَمَا

Wa-maa

But not

كَانَ

kaanal

ٱللَّهُ

laahu

Allah

لِيُعۡجِزَهُۥ

liyuʻjizahoo

that can escape (from) Him

مِن

miñ

any

شَيۡءٖ

shayʹiñ

thing

فِي

fis

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

samaawaati

the heavens

وَلَا

wa-laa

and not

فِي

fil

ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ

ʹarḍ:

the earth

إِنَّهُۥ

ʹinnahoo

Indeed He

كَانَ

kaana

عَلِيمٗا

ʻAleemañ

All-Knower

قَدِيرٗا

Q̣adeeraa.

All-Powerful

35:45

وَلَوۡ

Wa-law

And if

يُؤَاخِذُ

yuʹaakhiẓul

Allah (were to) punish

ٱللَّهُ

laahun

Allah (were to) punish

ٱلنَّاسَ

naasa

the people

بِمَا

bimaa

for what

كَسَبُواْ

kasaboo

they have earned

مَا

maa-

not

تَرَكَ

taraka

He would leave

عَلَىٰ

ʻalaa

ظَهۡرِهَا

z̤̣ahrihaa

its back

مِن

miñ

any

دَآبَّةٖ

daaabbatiñw

creature

وَلَٰكِن

walaakiñy

But

يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ

yuʹakhkhiruhum

He gives them respite

إِلَىٰٓ

ʹilaaa

till

أَجَلٖ

ʹajalim

a term

مُّسَمّٗىۖ

musammaa:

appointed

فَإِذَا

Faʹiẓaa

And when

جَآءَ

jaaaʹa

comes

أَجَلُهُمۡ

ʹAjaluhum

their term

فَإِنَّ

faʹinnal

then indeed

ٱللَّهَ

laaha

Allah

كَانَ

kaana

بِعِبَادِهِۦ

biʻibaadihee

of His slaves

بَصِيرَۢا

Baṣeeraa.

All-Seer

٤٥

36:1

يسٓ

Yaa-Seeen.

Ya Seen

36:2

وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ

Wal-Q̣urʹaanil

By the Quran

ٱلۡحَكِيمِ

Ḥakeem,―

the Wise

36:3

إِنَّكَ

ʹInnaka

Indeed you

لَمِنَ

laminal

(are) among

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

mursaleen,

the Messengers

36:4

عَلَىٰ

ʻAlaa

صِرَٰطٖ

Ṣiraaṭim

a Path

مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ

Mustaq̣eem.

Straight

36:5

تَنزِيلَ

Tañzeelal

A revelation

ٱلۡعَزِيزِ

ʻAzeezir

(of) the All-Mighty

ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Raḥeem,

the Most Merciful

36:6

لِتُنذِرَ

Lituñẓira

That you may warn

قَوۡمٗا

q̣awmam

a people

مَّآ

maaa

not

أُنذِرَ

ʹuñẓira

were warned

ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ

ʹaabaaaʹuhum

their forefathers

فَهُمۡ

fahum

so they

غَٰفِلُونَ

g̣aafiloon.

(are) heedless

36:7

لَقَدۡ

Laq̣ad

Certainly

حَقَّ

ḥaq̣q̣al

(has) proved true

ٱلۡقَوۡلُ

Q̣awlu

the word

عَلَىٰٓ

ʻalaaa

upon

أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ

ʹaks̤arihim

most of them

فَهُمۡ

fahum

so they

لَا

laa-

(do) not

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

yuʹminoon.

believe

36:8

إِنَّا

ʹInnaa

Indeed We

جَعَلۡنَا

jaʻalnaa

[We] have placed

فِيٓ

feee

أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ

ʹaʻnaaq̣ihim

their necks

أَغۡلَٰلٗا

ʹag̣laalañ

iron collars

فَهِيَ

fahiya

and they

إِلَى

ʹilal

(are up) to

ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ

ʹaẓq̣aani

the chins

فَهُم

fahum

so they

مُّقۡمَحُونَ

muq̣maḥoon.

(are with) heads raised up

36:9

وَجَعَلۡنَا

Wa-jaʻalnaa

And We have made

مِنۢ

mim

from

بَيۡنِ

bayni

before/between

أَيۡدِيهِمۡ

ʹaydeehim

their hands/their front

سَدّٗا

saddañw

a barrier

وَمِنۡ

wamin

and from

خَلۡفِهِمۡ

khalfihim

behind them

سَدّٗا

saddañ

a barrier

فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ

faʹag̣shaynaahum

and We covered them

فَهُمۡ

fahum

so they

لَا

laa-

(do) not

يُبۡصِرُونَ

yubṣiroon.

see

36:10

وَسَوَآءٌ

Wa-sawaaaʹun

And it (is) same

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

ʻalayhim

to them

ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ

ʹaʹañẓartahum

whether you warn them

أَمۡ

ʹam

لَمۡ

lam

(do) not

تُنذِرۡهُمۡ

tuñẓirhum

warn them

لَا

laa-

not

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

yuʹminoon.

they will believe

36:11

إِنَّمَا

ʹInnamaa

Only

تُنذِرُ

tuñẓiru

you (can) warn

مَنِ

manit

(him) who

ٱتَّبَعَ

taba

follows

ٱلذِّكۡرَ

ʻaẓ-Ẓikra

the Reminder

وَخَشِيَ

wa-khashiyar

and fears

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ

Raḥmaana

the Most Gracious

بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ

bilg̣ayb:

in the unseen

فَبَشِّرۡهُ

fabashshirhu

So give him glad tidings

بِمَغۡفِرَةٖ

bi-Mag̣firatiñw

of forgiveness

وَأَجۡرٖ

waʹAjriñ

and a reward

كَرِيمٍ

Kareem.

noble

١١

36:12

إِنَّا

ʹInnaa

Indeed We

نَحۡنُ

Naḥnu

[We]

نُحۡيِ

nuḥyil

[We] give life

ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ

mawtaa

(to) the dead

وَنَكۡتُبُ

wanaktubu

and We record

مَا

maa-

what

قَدَّمُواْ

q̣addamoo

they have sent before

وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ

wa-ʹaas̤aarahum:

and their footprints

وَكُلَّ

wa-kulla

and every

شَيۡءٍ

shayʹin

thing

أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ

ʹaḥṣaynaahu

We have enumerated it

فِيٓ

feee

إِمَامٖ

ʹImaamim

a Register

مُّبِينٖ

mubeen.

36:13

وَٱضۡرِبۡ

Waḍrib

And set forth

لَهُم

lahum

to them

مَّثَلًا

mas̤alan

an example

أَصۡحَٰبَ

ʹAṣḥaabal

(of the) companions

ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ

Q̣aryah.

(of) the city

إِذۡ

ʹIẓ

when

جَآءَهَا

jaaaʹahal

came to it

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ

mursaloon.

the Messengers

١٣

36:14

إِذۡ

ʹIẓ

When

أَرۡسَلۡنَآ

ʹarsalnaaa

We sent

إِلَيۡهِمُ

ʹilayhimus̤

to them

ٱثۡنَيۡنِ

nayni

two (Messengers)

فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا

fakaẓẓaboohumaa

but they denied both of them

فَعَزَّزۡنَا

faʻazzaznaa

so We strengthened them

بِثَالِثٖ

bis̤aalis̤iñ

with a third

فَقَالُوٓاْ

faq̣aalooo

and they said

إِنَّآ

ʹinnaaa

Indeed We

إِلَيۡكُم

ʹilaykum

to you

مُّرۡسَلُونَ

mursaloon.

(are) Messengers

١٤

36:15

قَالُواْ

Q̣aaloo

They said

مَآ

maaa

Not

أَنتُمۡ

ʹañtum

you

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

(are) but

بَشَرٞ

basharum

human beings

مِّثۡلُنَا

mis̤lunaa

like us

وَمَآ

wa-maaa

and not

أَنزَلَ

ʹañzalar

has revealed

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ

Raḥmaanu

the Most Gracious

مِن

miñ

any

شَيۡءٍ

shayʹin

thing

إِنۡ

ʹin

Not

أَنتُمۡ

ʹañtum

you

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

(are) but

تَكۡذِبُونَ

takẓiboon.

lying

١٥

36:16

قَالُواْ

Q̣aaloo

They said

رَبُّنَا

Rabbunaa

Our Lord

يَعۡلَمُ

yaʻlamu

knows

إِنَّآ

ʹinnaaa

that we

إِلَيۡكُمۡ

ʹilaykum

to you

لَمُرۡسَلُونَ

lamursaloon:

(are) surely Messengers

١٦

36:17

وَمَا

Wa-maa

And not

عَلَيۡنَآ

ʻalaynaaa

(is) on us

إِلَّا

ʹillal

except

ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ

Balaag̣ul

the conveyance

ٱلۡمُبِينُ

mubeen.

clear

١٧

36:18

قَالُوٓاْ

Q̣aalooo

They said

إِنَّا

ʹinnaa

Indeed we

تَطَيَّرۡنَا

taṭayyarnaa

[we] see an evil omen

بِكُمۡۖ

bikum:

from you

لَئِن

laʹil

لَّمۡ

lam

not

تَنتَهُواْ

tañtahoo

you desist

لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ

lanarjumannakum

surely we will stone you

وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم

wa-la-yamassan-nakum

and surely will touch you

مِّنَّا

minnaa

from us

عَذَابٌ

ʻaẓaabun

a punishment

أَلِيمٞ

ʹaleem.

painful

١٨

36:19

قَالُواْ

Q̣aaloo

They said

طَٰٓئِرُكُم

ṭaaaʹirukum

Your evil omen

مَّعَكُمۡ

maʻakum:

(be) with you

أَئِن

ʹaʹiñ

Is it because

ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ

ẓukkirtum?

you are admonished

بَلۡ

Bal

Nay

أَنتُمۡ

ʹañtum

you

قَوۡمٞ

q̣awmum

(are) a people

مُّسۡرِفُونَ

musrifoon!

transgressing

١٩

36:20

وَجَآءَ

Wa-jaaaʹa

And came

مِنۡ

min

from

أَقۡصَا

ʹaq̣ṣal

(the) farthest end

ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ

Madeenati

(of) the city

رَجُلٞ

rajuluñy

a man

يَسۡعَىٰ

yasʻaa

running

قَالَ

q̣aala

He said

يَٰقَوۡمِ

yaa-q̣awmit

O my People

ٱتَّبِعُواْ

tabiʻul

ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

mursaleen:

the Messengers
