One of the 240 subdivisions of the Quran (quarter of a Hizb)

35:15

۞يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

yaayyuha

ٱلنَّاسُ

al-nasu

mankind

أَنتُمُ

antumu

You

ٱلۡفُقَرَآءُ

al-fuqarau

(are) those in need

إِلَى

ila

ٱللَّهِۖ

al-lahi

Allah

وَٱللَّهُ

wal-lahu

while Allah

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلۡغَنِيُّ

al-ghaniyu

(is) Free of need

ٱلۡحَمِيدُ

al-hamidu

the Praiseworthy

١٥

35:16

إِن

يَشَأۡ

yasha

He wills

يُذۡهِبۡكُمۡ

yudh'hib'kum

He (can) do away with you

وَيَأۡتِ

wayati

and bring

بِخَلۡقٖ

bikhalqin

in a creation

جَدِيدٖ

jadidin

new

١٦

35:17

وَمَا

wama

And not

ذَٰلِكَ

dhalika

that

عَلَى

ala

(is) on

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

بِعَزِيزٖ

bi'azizin

difficult

١٧

35:18

وَلَا

wala

And not

تَزِرُ

taziru

will bear

وَازِرَةٞ

waziratun

bearer of burdens

وِزۡرَ

wiz'ra

burden

أُخۡرَىٰۚ

ukh'ra

(of) another

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

تَدۡعُ

tad'u

calls

مُثۡقَلَةٌ

muth'qalatun

a heavily laden

إِلَىٰ

ila

حِمۡلِهَا

him'liha

(carry) its load

لَا

not

يُحۡمَلۡ

yuh'mal

will be carried

مِنۡهُ

min'hu

of it

شَيۡءٞ

shayon

anything

وَلَوۡ

walaw

even if

كَانَ

kana

he be

ذَا

dha

near of kin

قُرۡبَىٰٓۗ

qur'ba

near of kin

إِنَّمَا

innama

Only

تُنذِرُ

tundhiru

you can warn

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

يَخۡشَوۡنَ

yakhshawna

fear

رَبَّهُم

rabbahum

their Lord

بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ

bil-ghaybi

unseen

وَأَقَامُواْ

wa-aqamu

and establish

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ

al-salata

the prayer

وَمَن

waman

And whoever

تَزَكَّىٰ

tazakka

purifies himself

فَإِنَّمَا

fa-innama

then only

يَتَزَكَّىٰ

yatazakka

he purifies

لِنَفۡسِهِۦۚ

linafsihi

for his own self

وَإِلَى

wa-ila

And to

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

al-masiru

(is) the destination

35:19

وَمَا

wama

And not

يَسۡتَوِي

yastawi

equal

ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ

al-a'ma

(are) the blind

وَٱلۡبَصِيرُ

wal-basiru

and the seeing

١٩

35:20

وَلَا

wala

And not

ٱلظُّلُمَٰتُ

al-zulumatu

the darkness[es]

وَلَا

wala

and not

ٱلنُّورُ

al-nuru

[the] light

٢٠

35:21

وَلَا

wala

And not

ٱلظِّلُّ

al-zilu

the shade

وَلَا

wala

and not

ٱلۡحَرُورُ

al-haruru

the heat

٢١

35:22

وَمَا

wama

And not

يَسۡتَوِي

yastawi

equal

ٱلۡأَحۡيَآءُ

al-ahyau

(are) the living

وَلَا

wala

and not

ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰتُۚ

al-amwatu

the dead

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

يُسۡمِعُ

yus'mi'u

causes to hear

مَن

man

whom

يَشَآءُۖ

yashau

He wills

وَمَآ

wama

and not

أَنتَ

anta

you

بِمُسۡمِعٖ

bimus'mi'in

can make hear

مَّن

man

(those) who

فِي

(are) in

ٱلۡقُبُورِ

al-quburi

the graves

٢٢

35:23

إِنۡ

Not

أَنتَ

anta

you (are)

إِلَّا

illa

but

نَذِيرٌ

nadhirun

a warner

٢٣

35:24

إِنَّآ

inna

Indeed We

أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ

arsalnaka

[We] have sent you

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-haqi

with the truth

بَشِيرٗا

bashiran

(as) a bearer of glad tidings

وَنَذِيرٗاۚ

wanadhiran

and (as) a warner

وَإِن

wa-in

And not

مِّنۡ

min

(was) any

أُمَّةٍ

ummatin

nation

إِلَّا

illa

but

خَلَا

khala

had passed

فِيهَا

fiha

within it

نَذِيرٞ

nadhirun

a warner

٢٤

35:25

وَإِن

wa-in

And if

يُكَذِّبُوكَ

yukadhibuka

they deny you

فَقَدۡ

faqad

then certainly

كَذَّبَ

kadhaba

denied

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

مِن

min

(were) before them

قَبۡلِهِمۡ

qablihim

(were) before them

جَآءَتۡهُمۡ

jaathum

Came to them

رُسُلُهُم

rusuluhum

their Messengers

بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ

bil-bayinati

with clear signs

وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ

wabil-zuburi

and with Scriptures

وَبِٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

wabil-kitabi

and with the Book

ٱلۡمُنِيرِ

al-muniri

[the] enlightening

٢٥

35:26

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

أَخَذۡتُ

akhadhtu

I seized

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

كَفَرُواْۖ

kafaru

disbelieved

فَكَيۡفَ

fakayfa

and how

كَانَ

kana

was

نَكِيرِ

nakiri

My rejection

٢٦

35:27

أَلَمۡ

alam

Do not

تَرَ

tara

you see

أَنَّ

anna

that

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

أَنزَلَ

anzala

sends down

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

al-samai

the sky

مَآءٗ

maan

water

فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا

fa-akhrajna

then We bring forth

بِهِۦ

bihi

therewith

ثَمَرَٰتٖ

thamaratin

fruits

مُّخۡتَلِفًا

mukh'talifan

(of) various

أَلۡوَٰنُهَاۚ

alwanuha

[their] colors

وَمِنَ

wamina

And in

ٱلۡجِبَالِ

al-jibali

the mountains

جُدَدُۢ

judadun

(are) tracts

بِيضٞ

bidun

white

وَحُمۡرٞ

wahum'run

and red

مُّخۡتَلِفٌ

mukh'talifun

(of) various

أَلۡوَٰنُهَا

alwanuha

[their] colors

وَغَرَابِيبُ

wagharabibu

and intensely black

سُودٞ

sudun

and intensely black

٢٧

35:28

وَمِنَ

wamina

And among

ٱلنَّاسِ

al-nasi

men

وَٱلدَّوَآبِّ

wal-dawabi

and moving creatures

وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ

wal-an'ami

and the cattle

مُخۡتَلِفٌ

mukh'talifun

(are) various

أَلۡوَٰنُهُۥ

alwanuhu

[their] colors

كَذَٰلِكَۗ

kadhalika

likewise

إِنَّمَا

innama

Only

يَخۡشَى

yakhsha

fear

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

مِنۡ

min

among

عِبَادِهِ

ibadihi

His slaves

ٱلۡعُلَمَٰٓؤُاْۗ

al-'ulamau

those who have knowledge

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

عَزِيزٌ

azizun

(is) All-Mighty

غَفُورٌ

ghafurun

Oft-Forgiving

٢٨

35:29

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

يَتۡلُونَ

yatluna

recite

كِتَٰبَ

kitaba

(the) Book

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

وَأَقَامُواْ

wa-aqamu

and establish

ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ

al-salata

the prayer

وَأَنفَقُواْ

wa-anfaqu

and spend

مِمَّا

mimma

out of what

رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ

razaqnahum

We have provided them

سِرّٗا

sirran

secretly

وَعَلَانِيَةٗ

wa'alaniyatan

and openly

يَرۡجُونَ

yarjuna

hope

تِجَٰرَةٗ

tijaratan

(for) a commerce

لَّن

lan

never

تَبُورَ

tabura

it will perish

٢٩

35:30

لِيُوَفِّيَهُمۡ

liyuwaffiyahum

That He may give them in full

أُجُورَهُمۡ

ujurahum

their rewards

وَيَزِيدَهُم

wayazidahum

and increase for them

مِّن

min

فَضۡلِهِۦٓۚ

fadlihi

His Bounty

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed He

غَفُورٞ

ghafurun

(is) Oft-Forgiving

شَكُورٞ

shakurun

Most Appreciative

35:31

وَٱلَّذِيٓ

wa-alladhi

And (that) which

أَوۡحَيۡنَآ

awhayna

We have revealed

إِلَيۡكَ

ilayka

to you

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

al-kitabi

the Book

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلۡحَقُّ

al-haqu

(is) the truth

مُصَدِّقٗا

musaddiqan

confirming

لِّمَا

lima

what (was)

بَيۡنَ

bayna

before it

يَدَيۡهِۗ

yadayhi

before it

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

بِعِبَادِهِۦ

bi'ibadihi

of His slaves

لَخَبِيرُۢ

lakhabirun

surely (is) All-Aware

بَصِيرٞ

basirun

All-Seer

٣١

35:32

ثُمَّ

thumma

Then

أَوۡرَثۡنَا

awrathna

We caused to inherit

ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ

al-kitaba

the Book

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those whom

ٱصۡطَفَيۡنَا

is'tafayna

We have chosen

مِنۡ

min

عِبَادِنَاۖ

ibadina

Our slaves

فَمِنۡهُمۡ

famin'hum

and among them

ظَالِمٞ

zalimun

(is he) who wrongs

لِّنَفۡسِهِۦ

linafsihi

himself

وَمِنۡهُم

wamin'hum

and among them

مُّقۡتَصِدٞ

muq'tasidun

(is he who is) moderate

وَمِنۡهُمۡ

wamin'hum

and among them

سَابِقُۢ

sabiqun

(is he who is) foremost

بِٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ

bil-khayrati

in good deeds

بِإِذۡنِ

bi-idh'ni

by permission

ٱللَّهِۚ

al-lahi

(of) Allah

ذَٰلِكَ

dhalika

That

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلۡفَضۡلُ

al-fadlu

the Bounty

ٱلۡكَبِيرُ

al-kabiru

the great

٣٢

35:33

جَنَّٰتُ

jannatu

Gardens

عَدۡنٖ

adnin

(of) Eternity

يَدۡخُلُونَهَا

yadkhulunaha

they will enter them

يُحَلَّوۡنَ

yuhallawna

They will be adorned

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

مِنۡ

min

with

أَسَاوِرَ

asawira

bracelets

مِن

min

ذَهَبٖ

dhahabin

gold

وَلُؤۡلُؤٗاۖ

walu'lu-an

and pearls

وَلِبَاسُهُمۡ

walibasuhum

and their garments

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

حَرِيرٞ

harirun

(will be of) silk

٣٣

35:34

وَقَالُواْ

waqalu

And they (will) say

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ

al-hamdu

All praises

لِلَّهِ

lillahi

(be) to Allah

ٱلَّذِيٓ

alladhi

the One Who

أَذۡهَبَ

adhhaba

(has) removed

عَنَّا

anna

from us

ٱلۡحَزَنَۖ

al-hazana

the sorrow

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

رَبَّنَا

rabbana

our Lord

لَغَفُورٞ

laghafurun

(is) surely Oft-Forgiving

شَكُورٌ

shakurun

Most Appreciative

٣٤

35:35

ٱلَّذِيٓ

alladhi

The One Who

أَحَلَّنَا

ahallana

has settled us

دَارَ

dara

(in) a Home

ٱلۡمُقَامَةِ

al-muqamati

(of) Eternity

مِن

min

(out) of

فَضۡلِهِۦ

fadlihi

His Bounty

لَا

Not

يَمَسُّنَا

yamassuna

touches us

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

نَصَبٞ

nasabun

any fatigue

وَلَا

wala

and not

يَمَسُّنَا

yamassuna

touches

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

لُغُوبٞ

lughubun

weariness

٣٥

35:36

وَٱلَّذِينَ

wa-alladhina

And those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaru

disbelieve

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

نَارُ

naru

(will be the) Fire

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

(of) Hell

لَا

Not

يُقۡضَىٰ

yuq'da

is decreed

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

alayhim

for them

فَيَمُوتُواْ

fayamutu

that they die

وَلَا

wala

and not

يُخَفَّفُ

yukhaffafu

will be lightened

عَنۡهُم

anhum

for them

مِّنۡ

min

عَذَابِهَاۚ

adhabiha

its torment

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

Thus

نَجۡزِي

najzi

We recompense

كُلَّ

kulla

every

كَفُورٖ

kafurin

ungrateful one

٣٦

35:37

وَهُمۡ

wahum

And they

يَصۡطَرِخُونَ

yastarikhuna

will cry

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

رَبَّنَآ

rabbana

Our Lord

أَخۡرِجۡنَا

akhrij'na

Bring us out

نَعۡمَلۡ

na'mal

we will do

صَٰلِحًا

salihan

righteous (deeds)

غَيۡرَ

ghayra

other than

ٱلَّذِي

alladhi

(that) which

كُنَّا

kunna

we used

نَعۡمَلُۚ

na'malu

(to) do

أَوَلَمۡ

awalam

Did not

نُعَمِّرۡكُم

nu'ammir'kum

We give you life long enough

مَّا

that

يَتَذَكَّرُ

yatadhakkaru

(would) receive admonition

فِيهِ

fihi

therein

مَن

man

whoever

تَذَكَّرَ

tadhakkara

receives admonition

وَجَآءَكُمُ

wajaakumu

And came to you

ٱلنَّذِيرُۖ

al-nadhiru

the warner

فَذُوقُواْ

fadhuqu

So taste

فَمَا

fama

then not

لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ

lilzzalimina

(is) for the wrongdoers

مِن

min

any

نَّصِيرٍ

nasirin

helper

٣٧

35:38

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱللَّهَ

al-laha

Allah

عَٰلِمُ

alimu

(is the) Knower

غَيۡبِ

ghaybi

(of the) unseen

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

(of) the heavens

وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ

wal-ardi

and the earth

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed He

عَلِيمُۢ

alimun

(is the) All-Knower

بِذَاتِ

bidhati

of what (is) in the breasts

ٱلصُّدُورِ

al-suduri

of what (is) in the breasts

35:39

هُوَ

huwa

ٱلَّذِي

alladhi

(is) the One Who

جَعَلَكُمۡ

ja'alakum

made you

خَلَٰٓئِفَ

khalaifa

successors

فِي

ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ

al-ardi

the earth

فَمَن

faman

And whoever

كَفَرَ

kafara

disbelieves

فَعَلَيۡهِ

fa'alayhi

then upon him

كُفۡرُهُۥۖ

kuf'ruhu

(is) his disbelief

وَلَا

wala

And not

يَزِيدُ

yazidu

increase

ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

al-kafirina

the disbelievers

كُفۡرُهُمۡ

kuf'ruhum

their disbelief

عِندَ

inda

near

رَبِّهِمۡ

rabbihim

their Lord

إِلَّا

illa

except

مَقۡتٗاۖ

maqtan

(in) hatred

وَلَا

wala

and not

يَزِيدُ

yazidu

increase

ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

al-kafirina

the disbelievers

كُفۡرُهُمۡ

kuf'ruhum

their disbelief

إِلَّا

illa

except

خَسَارٗا

khasaran

(in) loss

٣٩

35:40

قُلۡ

qul

Say

أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ

ara-aytum

Have you seen

شُرَكَآءَكُمُ

shurakaakumu

your partners

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those whom

تَدۡعُونَ

tad'una

you call

مِن

min

besides

دُونِ

duni

besides

ٱللَّهِ

al-lahi

Allah

أَرُونِي

aruni

Show Me

مَاذَا

madha

what

خَلَقُواْ

khalaqu

they have created

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

al-ardi

the earth

أَمۡ

لَهُمۡ

lahum

for them

شِرۡكٞ

shir'kun

(is) a share

فِي

ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ

al-samawati

the heavens

أَمۡ

ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ

ataynahum

have We given them

كِتَٰبٗا

kitaban

a Book

فَهُمۡ

fahum

so they

عَلَىٰ

ala

(are) on

بَيِّنَتٖ

bayyinatin

a clear proof

مِّنۡهُۚ

min'hu

therefrom

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

إِن

not

يَعِدُ

ya'idu

promise

ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

al-zalimuna

the wrongdoers

بَعۡضُهُم

ba'duhum

some of them

بَعۡضًا

ba'dan

(to) others

إِلَّا

illa

except

غُرُورًا

ghururan

delusion
