۞تِلۡكَ
til'ka
These
ٱلرُّسُلُ
al-rusulu
(are) the Messengers
فَضَّلۡنَا
faddalna
We (have) preferred
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
ba'dahum
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ala
over
بَعۡضٖۘ
ba'din
others
مِّنۡهُم
min'hum
Among them
مَّن
man
(were those with) whom
كَلَّمَ
kallama
spoke
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah
وَرَفَعَ
warafa'a
and He raised
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
ba'dahum
some of them
دَرَجَٰتٖۚ
darajatin
(in) degrees
وَءَاتَيۡنَا
waatayna
And We gave
عِيسَى
isa
Isa
ٱبۡنَ
ib'na
son
مَرۡيَمَ
maryama
(of) Maryam
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ
al-bayinati
the clear proofs
وَأَيَّدۡنَٰهُ
wa-ayyadnahu
and We supported him
بِرُوحِ
biruhi
with Spirit
ٱلۡقُدُسِۗ
al-qudusi
[the] Holy
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
شَآءَ
shaa
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
مَا
ma
not
ٱقۡتَتَلَ
iq'tatala
(would have) fought each other
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
مِنۢ
min
(came) from
بَعۡدِهِم
ba'dihim
after them
مِّنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
مَا
ma
[what]
جَآءَتۡهُمُ
jaathumu
came to them
ٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتُ
al-bayinatu
the clear proofs
وَلَٰكِنِ
walakini
[And] but
ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ
ikh'talafu
they differed
فَمِنۡهُم
famin'hum
[so] of them
مَّنۡ
man
(are some) who
ءَامَنَ
amana
believed
وَمِنۡهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّن
man
(are some) who
كَفَرَۚ
kafara
denied
وَلَوۡ
walaw
And if
شَآءَ
shaa
(had) willed
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
مَا
ma
not
ٱقۡتَتَلُواْ
iq'tatalu
they (would have) fought each other
وَلَٰكِنَّ
walakinna
[and] but
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يَفۡعَلُ
yaf 'alu
does
مَا
ma
what
يُرِيدُ
yuridu
He intends
٢٥٣
2:254
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
amanu
believe[d]
أَنفِقُواْ
anfiqu
Spend
مِمَّا
mimma
of what
رَزَقۡنَٰكُم
razaqnakum
We (have) provided you
مِّن
min
from
قَبۡلِ
qabli
before
أَن
an
that
يَأۡتِيَ
yatiya
comes
يَوۡمٞ
yawmun
a Day
لَّا
la
no
بَيۡعٞ
bay'un
bargaining
فِيهِ
fihi
in it
وَلَا
wala
and no
خُلَّةٞ
khullatun
friendship
وَلَا
wala
and no
شَفَٰعَةٞۗ
shafa'atun
intercession
وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ
wal-kafiruna
And the deniers
هُمُ
humu
they
ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
al-zalimuna
(are) the wrongdoers
٢٥٤
2:255
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَآ
la
(there is) no
إِلَٰهَ
ilaha
God
إِلَّا
illa
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
ٱلۡحَيُّ
al-hayu
the Ever-Living
ٱلۡقَيُّومُۚ
al-qayumu
the Sustainer of all that exists
لَا
la
Not
تَأۡخُذُهُۥ
takhudhuhu
overtakes Him
سِنَةٞ
sinatun
slumber
وَلَا
wala
[and] not
نَوۡمٞۚ
nawmun
sleep
لَّهُۥ
lahu
To Him (belongs)
مَا
ma
what(ever)
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَمَا
wama
and what(ever)
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
al-ardi
the earth
مَن
man
Who
ذَا
dha
(is) the one
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
who
يَشۡفَعُ
yashfa'u
can intercede
عِندَهُۥٓ
indahu
with Him
إِلَّا
illa
except
بِإِذۡنِهِۦۚ
bi-idh'nihi
by His permission
يَعۡلَمُ
ya'lamu
He knows
مَا
ma
what
بَيۡنَ
bayna
(is)
أَيۡدِيهِمۡ
aydihim
before them
وَمَا
wama
and what
خَلۡفَهُمۡۖ
khalfahum
(is) behind them
وَلَا
wala
And not
يُحِيطُونَ
yuhituna
they encompass
بِشَيۡءٖ
bishayin
anything
مِّنۡ
min
of
عِلۡمِهِۦٓ
il'mihi
His Knowledge
إِلَّا
illa
except
بِمَا
bima
[of] what
شَآءَۚ
shaa
He willed
وَسِعَ
wasi'a
Extends
كُرۡسِيُّهُ
kur'siyyuhu
His Seat
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
(to) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۖ
wal-arda
and the earth
وَلَا
wala
And not
يَـُٔودُهُۥ
yauduhu
tires Him
حِفۡظُهُمَاۚ
hif'zuhuma
(the) guarding of both of them
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلۡعَلِيُّ
al-'aliyu
(is) the Most High
ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
al-'azimu
the Most Great
٢٥٥
2:256
لَآ
la
(There is) no
إِكۡرَاهَ
ik'raha
compulsion
فِي
fi
in
ٱلدِّينِۖ
al-dini
the religion
قَد
qad
Surely
تَّبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
has become distinct
ٱلرُّشۡدُ
al-rush'du
the right (path)
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡغَيِّۚ
al-ghayi
the wrong
فَمَن
faman
Then whoever
يَكۡفُرۡ
yakfur
disbelieves
بِٱلطَّٰغُوتِ
bil-taghuti
in false deities
وَيُؤۡمِنۢ
wayu'min
and believes
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
فَقَدِ
faqadi
then surely
ٱسۡتَمۡسَكَ
is'tamsaka
he grasped
بِٱلۡعُرۡوَةِ
bil-'ur'wati
the handhold
ٱلۡوُثۡقَىٰ
al-wuth'qa
[the] firm
لَا
la
(which) not
ٱنفِصَامَ
infisama
(will) break
لَهَاۗ
laha
[for it]
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
سَمِيعٌ
sami'un
(is) All-Hearing
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
All-Knowing

2:257
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
وَلِيُّ
waliyyu
(is the) Protecting Guardian
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
(of) those who
ءَامَنُواْ
amanu
believe[d]
يُخۡرِجُهُم
yukh'rijuhum
He brings them out
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ
al-zulumati
[the] darkness
إِلَى
ila
towards
ٱلنُّورِۖ
al-nuri
[the] light
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhina
And those who
كَفَرُوٓاْ
kafaru
disbelieve(d)
أَوۡلِيَآؤُهُمُ
awliyauhumu
their guardians
ٱلطَّٰغُوتُ
al-taghutu
(are) the evil ones
يُخۡرِجُونَهُم
yukh'rijunahum
they bring them out
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلنُّورِ
al-nuri
the light
إِلَى
ila
towards
ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِۗ
al-zulumati
[the] darkness
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
ulaika
Those
أَصۡحَٰبُ
ashabu
(are the) companions
ٱلنَّارِۖ
al-nari
(of) the Fire
هُمۡ
hum
they
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
خَٰلِدُونَ
khaliduna
will abide forever
٢٥٧
2:258
أَلَمۡ
alam
Did not
تَرَ
tara
you see
إِلَى
ila
[towards]
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
the one who
حَآجَّ
hajja
argued
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ
ib'rahima
(with) Ibrahim
فِي
fi
concerning
رَبِّهِۦٓ
rabbihi
his Lord
أَنۡ
an
because
ءَاتَىٰهُ
atahu
gave him
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
ٱلۡمُلۡكَ
al-mul'ka
the kingdom
إِذۡ
idh
When
قَالَ
qala
Said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ib'rahimu
Ibrahim
رَبِّيَ
rabbiya
My Lord
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
(is) the One Who
يُحۡيِۦ
yuh'yi
grants life
وَيُمِيتُ
wayumitu
and causes death
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَنَا۠
ana
I
أُحۡيِۦ
uh'yi
give life
وَأُمِيتُۖ
wa-umitu
and cause death
قَالَ
qala
Said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ib'rahimu
Ibrahim
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
[Then] indeed
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
يَأۡتِي
yati
brings up
بِٱلشَّمۡسِ
bil-shamsi
the sun
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ
al-mashriqi
the east
فَأۡتِ
fati
so you bring
بِهَا
biha
it
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ
al-maghribi
the west
فَبُهِتَ
fabuhita
So became dumbfounded
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
the one who
كَفَرَۗ
kafara
disbelieved
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
and Allah
لَا
la
(does) not
يَهۡدِي
yahdi
guide
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
al-qawma
the people
ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
al-zalimina
(who are) [the] wrongdoers
٢٥٨
2:259
أَوۡ
aw
Or
كَٱلَّذِي
ka-alladhi
like the one who
مَرَّ
marra
passed
عَلَىٰ
ala
by
قَرۡيَةٖ
qaryatin
a township
وَهِيَ
wahiya
and it
خَاوِيَةٌ
khawiyatun
(had) overturned
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
عُرُوشِهَا
urushiha
its roofs
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَنَّىٰ
anna
How
يُحۡيِۦ
yuh'yi
(will) bring to life
هَٰذِهِ
hadhihi
this (town)
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
بَعۡدَ
ba'da
after
مَوۡتِهَاۖ
mawtiha
its death
فَأَمَاتَهُ
fa-amatahu
Then he was made to die
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
(by) Allah
مِاْئَةَ
mi-ata
(for) a hundred
عَامٖ
amin
year(s)
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
بَعَثَهُۥۖ
ba'athahu
He raised him
قَالَ
qala
He said
كَمۡ
kam
How long
لَبِثۡتَۖ
labith'ta
(have) you remained
قَالَ
qala
He said
لَبِثۡتُ
labith'tu
I remained
يَوۡمًا
yawman
(for) a day
أَوۡ
aw
or
بَعۡضَ
ba'da
a part
يَوۡمٖۖ
yawmin
(of) a day
قَالَ
qala
He said
بَل
bal
Nay
لَّبِثۡتَ
labith'ta
you (have) remained
مِاْئَةَ
mi-ata
one hundred
عَامٖ
amin
year(s)
فَٱنظُرۡ
fa-unzur
Then look
إِلَىٰ
ila
at
طَعَامِكَ
ta'amika
your food
وَشَرَابِكَ
washarabika
and your drink
لَمۡ
lam
(they did) not
يَتَسَنَّهۡۖ
yatasannah
change with time
وَٱنظُرۡ
wa-unzur
and look
إِلَىٰ
ila
at
حِمَارِكَ
himarika
your donkey
وَلِنَجۡعَلَكَ
walinaj'alaka
and We will make you
ءَايَةٗ
ayatan
a sign
لِّلنَّاسِۖ
lilnnasi
for the people
وَٱنظُرۡ
wa-unzur
And look
إِلَى
ila
at
ٱلۡعِظَامِ
al-'izami
the bones
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
نُنشِزُهَا
nunshizuha
We raise them
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
نَكۡسُوهَا
naksuha
We cover them
لَحۡمٗاۚ
lahman
(with) flesh
فَلَمَّا
falamma
Then when
تَبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
became clear
لَهُۥ
lahu
to him
قَالَ
qala
he said
أَعۡلَمُ
a'lamu
I know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ala
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٞ
qadirun
All-Powerful

وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
قَالَ
qala
said
إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمُ
ib'rahimu
Ibrahim
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
أَرِنِي
arini
show me
كَيۡفَ
kayfa
how
تُحۡيِ
tuh'yi
You give life
ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ
al-mawta
(to) the dead
قَالَ
qala
He said
أَوَلَمۡ
awalam
Have not
تُؤۡمِنۖ
tu'min
you believed
قَالَ
qala
He said
بَلَىٰ
bala
Yes
وَلَٰكِن
walakin
[and] but
لِّيَطۡمَئِنَّ
liyatma-inna
to satisfy
قَلۡبِيۖ
qalbi
my heart
قَالَ
qala
He said
فَخُذۡ
fakhudh
Then take
أَرۡبَعَةٗ
arba'atan
four
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلطَّيۡرِ
al-tayri
the birds
فَصُرۡهُنَّ
fasur'hunna
and incline them
إِلَيۡكَ
ilayka
towards you
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ٱجۡعَلۡ
ij'al
put
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
كُلِّ
kulli
each
جَبَلٖ
jabalin
hill
مِّنۡهُنَّ
min'hunna
of them
جُزۡءٗا
juz'an
a portion
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ٱدۡعُهُنَّ
ud'uhunna
call them
يَأۡتِينَكَ
yatinaka
they will come to you
سَعۡيٗاۚ
sa'yan
(in) haste
وَٱعۡلَمۡ
wa-i'lam
And know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
azizun
(is) All-Mighty
حَكِيمٞ
hakimun
All-Wise
٢٦٠
2:261
مَّثَلُ
mathalu
Example
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
(of) those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiquna
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
amwalahum
their wealth
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
حَبَّةٍ
habbatin
a grain
أَنۢبَتَتۡ
anbatat
which grows
سَبۡعَ
sab'a
seven
سَنَابِلَ
sanabila
ears
فِي
fi
in
كُلِّ
kulli
each
سُنۢبُلَةٖ
sunbulatin
ear
مِّاْئَةُ
mi-atu
hundred
حَبَّةٖۗ
habbatin
grain(s)
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يُضَٰعِفُ
yuda'ifu
gives manifold
لِمَن
liman
to whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
wasi'un
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٌ
alimun
All-Knowing
٢٦١
2:262
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
Those who
يُنفِقُونَ
yunfiquna
spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمۡ
amwalahum
their wealth
فِي
fi
in
سَبِيلِ
sabili
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
لَا
la
not
يُتۡبِعُونَ
yut'bi'una
they follow
مَآ
ma
what
أَنفَقُواْ
anfaqu
they spend
مَنّٗا
mannan
(with) reminders of generosity
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَذٗى
adhan
hurt
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
أَجۡرُهُمۡ
ajruhum
their reward
عِندَ
inda
(is) with
رَبِّهِمۡ
rabbihim
their Lord
وَلَا
wala
and (there will be) no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
alayhim
on them
وَلَا
wala
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yahzanuna
will grieve
٢٦٢
