15:1

الٓرۚ

alif-lam-ra

Alif Laam Ra

تِلۡكَ

til'ka

These

ءَايَٰتُ

ayatu

(are) the Verses

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

al-kitabi

(of) the Book

وَقُرۡءَانٖ

waqur'anin

and Quran

مُّبِينٖ

mubinin

clear

15:2

رُّبَمَا

rubama

Perhaps

يَوَدُّ

yawaddu

will wish

ٱلَّذِينَ

alladhina

those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaru

disbelieved

لَوۡ

law

كَانُواْ

kanu

they had been

مُسۡلِمِينَ

mus'limina

Muslims

15:3

ذَرۡهُمۡ

dharhum

Leave them

يَأۡكُلُواْ

yakulu

(to) eat

وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ

wayatamatta'u

and enjoy

وَيُلۡهِهِمُ

wayul'hihimu

and diverted them

ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ

al-amalu

the hope

فَسَوۡفَ

fasawfa

then soon

يَعۡلَمُونَ

ya'lamuna

they will come to know

15:4

وَمَآ

wama

And not

أَهۡلَكۡنَا

ahlakna

We destroyed

مِن

min

any

قَرۡيَةٍ

qaryatin

town

إِلَّا

illa

but

وَلَهَا

walaha

(there was) for it

كِتَابٞ

kitabun

a decree

مَّعۡلُومٞ

ma'lumun

known

15:5

مَّا

Not

تَسۡبِقُ

tasbiqu

(can) advance

مِنۡ

min

any

أُمَّةٍ

ummatin

nation

أَجَلَهَا

ajalaha

its term

وَمَا

wama

and not

يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ

yastakhiruna

(can) delay it

15:6

وَقَالُواْ

waqalu

And they say

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

yaayyuha

O you

ٱلَّذِي

alladhi

(to) whom

نُزِّلَ

nuzzila

has been sent down

عَلَيۡهِ

alayhi

[on him]

ٱلذِّكۡرُ

al-dhik'ru

the Reminder

إِنَّكَ

innaka

indeed you

لَمَجۡنُونٞ

lamajnunun

(are) surely mad

15:7

لَّوۡ

law

Why

مَا

not

تَأۡتِينَا

tatina

you bring to us

بِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ

bil-malaikati

the Angels

إِن

كُنتَ

kunta

you are

مِنَ

mina

ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

al-sadiqina

the truthful

15:8

مَا

Not

نُنَزِّلُ

nunazzilu

We send down

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ

al-malaikata

the Angels

إِلَّا

illa

except

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-haqi

with the truth

وَمَا

wama

and not

كَانُوٓاْ

kanu

they would be

إِذٗا

idhan

then

مُّنظَرِينَ

munzarina

given respite

15:9

إِنَّا

inna

Indeed We

نَحۡنُ

nahnu

نَزَّلۡنَا

nazzalna

have sent down

ٱلذِّكۡرَ

al-dhik'ra

the Reminder

وَإِنَّا

wa-inna

and indeed We

لَهُۥ

lahu

of it

لَحَٰفِظُونَ

lahafizuna

(are) surely Guardians

15:10

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And certainly

أَرۡسَلۡنَا

arsalna

We (had) sent

مِن

min

before you

قَبۡلِكَ

qablika

before you

فِي

شِيَعِ

shiya'i

the sects

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

al-awalina

(of) the former (people)

١٠

15:11

وَمَا

wama

And not

يَأۡتِيهِم

yatihim

came to them

مِّن

min

any

رَّسُولٍ

rasulin

Messenger

إِلَّا

illa

but

كَانُواْ

kanu

they did

بِهِۦ

bihi

at him

يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

yastahziuna

mock

١١

15:12

كَذَٰلِكَ

kadhalika

Thus

نَسۡلُكُهُۥ

naslukuhu

We let it enter

فِي

قُلُوبِ

qulubi

(the) hearts

ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

al-muj'rimina

(of) the criminals

١٢

15:13

لَا

Not

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

yu'minuna

they believe

بِهِۦ

bihi

in it

وَقَدۡ

waqad

and verily

خَلَتۡ

khalat

have passed

سُنَّةُ

sunnatu

the way(s)

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

al-awalina

(of) the former (people)

١٣

15:14

وَلَوۡ

walaw

And (even) if

فَتَحۡنَا

fatahna

We opened

عَلَيۡهِم

alayhim

to them

بَابٗا

baban

a gate

مِّنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

al-samai

the heaven

فَظَلُّواْ

fazallu

and they were to continue

فِيهِ

fihi

therein

يَعۡرُجُونَ

ya'rujuna

(to) ascend

١٤

15:15

لَقَالُوٓاْ

laqalu

They would surely say

إِنَّمَا

innama

Only

سُكِّرَتۡ

sukkirat

have been dazzled

أَبۡصَٰرُنَا

absaruna

our eyes

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

نَحۡنُ

nahnu

قَوۡمٞ

qawmun

(are) a people

مَّسۡحُورُونَ

mashuruna

bewitched

15:16

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

جَعَلۡنَا

ja'alna

We have placed

فِي

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

al-samai

the heavens

بُرُوجٗا

burujan

constellations

وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا

wazayyannaha

and We have beautified it

لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

lilnnazirina

for the observers

١٦

15:17

وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا

wahafiz'naha

And We have protected it

مِن

min

from

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيۡطَٰنٖ

shaytanin

devil

رَّجِيمٍ

rajimin

accursed

١٧

15:18

إِلَّا

illa

Except

مَنِ

mani

(one) who

ٱسۡتَرَقَ

is'taraqa

steals

ٱلسَّمۡعَ

al-sam'a

the hearing

فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ

fa-atba'ahu

then follows him

شِهَابٞ

shihabun

a burning flame

مُّبِينٞ

mubinun

clear

١٨

15:19

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

wal-arda

And the earth

مَدَدۡنَٰهَا

madadnaha

We have spread it

وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا

wa-alqayna

and [We] cast

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

رَوَٰسِيَ

rawasiya

firm mountains

وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا

wa-anbatna

and [We] caused to grow

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

مِن

min

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيۡءٖ

shayin

thing

مَّوۡزُونٖ

mawzunin

well-balanced

١٩

15:20

وَجَعَلۡنَا

waja'alna

And We have made

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

مَعَٰيِشَ

ma'ayisha

means of living

وَمَن

waman

and whom

لَّسۡتُمۡ

lastum

you are not

لَهُۥ

lahu

for him

بِرَٰزِقِينَ

biraziqina

providers

٢٠

15:21

وَإِن

wa-in

And not

مِّن

min

(is) any

شَيۡءٍ

shayin

thing

إِلَّا

illa

but

عِندَنَا

indana

with Us

خَزَآئِنُهُۥ

khazainuhu

(are) its treasures

وَمَا

wama

and not

نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ

nunazziluhu

We send it down

إِلَّا

illa

except

بِقَدَرٖ

biqadarin

in a measure

مَّعۡلُومٖ

ma'lumin

known

٢١

15:22

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا

wa-arsalna

And We have sent

ٱلرِّيَٰحَ

al-riyaha

the winds

لَوَٰقِحَ

lawaqiha

fertilizing

فَأَنزَلۡنَا

fa-anzalna

and We sent down

مِنَ

mina

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

al-samai

the sky

مَآءٗ

maan

water

فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ

fa-asqaynakumuhu

and We gave it to you to drink

وَمَآ

wama

And not

أَنتُمۡ

antum

you

لَهُۥ

lahu

of it

بِخَٰزِنِينَ

bikhazinina

(are) retainers

٢٢

15:23

وَإِنَّا

wa-inna

And indeed We

لَنَحۡنُ

lanahnu

surely [We]

نُحۡيِۦ

nuh'yi

We give life

وَنُمِيتُ

wanumitu

and We cause death

وَنَحۡنُ

wanahnu

and We

ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَ

al-warithuna

(are) the Inheritors

٢٣

15:24

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

عَلِمۡنَا

alim'na

We know

ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ

al-mus'taqdimina

the preceding ones

مِنكُمۡ

minkum

among you

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

and verily

عَلِمۡنَا

alim'na

We know

ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ

al-mus'takhirina

the later ones

٢٤

15:25

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

رَبَّكَ

rabbaka

your Lord

هُوَ

huwa

يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ

yahshuruhum

will gather them

إِنَّهُۥ

innahu

Indeed He

حَكِيمٌ

hakimun

(is) All-Wise

عَلِيمٞ

alimun

All-Knowing

٢٥

15:26

وَلَقَدۡ

walaqad

And verily

خَلَقۡنَا

khalaqna

We created

ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ

al-insana

humankind

مِن

min

(out) of

صَلۡصَٰلٖ

salsalin

sounding clay

مِّنۡ

min

from

حَمَإٖ

hama-in

black mud

مَّسۡنُونٖ

masnunin

altered

٢٦

15:27

وَٱلۡجَآنَّ

wal-jana

And the jinn

خَلَقۡنَٰهُ

khalaqnahu

We created it

مِن

min

before

قَبۡلُ

qablu

before

مِن

min

from

نَّارِ

nari

fire

ٱلسَّمُومِ

al-samumi

scorching

٢٧

15:28

وَإِذۡ

wa-idh

And when

قَالَ

qala

your Lord said

رَبُّكَ

rabbuka

your Lord said

لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ

lil'malaikati

to the Angels

إِنِّي

inni

Indeed I

خَٰلِقُۢ

khaliqun

(will) create

بَشَرٗا

basharan

a human being

مِّن

min

(out) of

صَلۡصَٰلٖ

salsalin

clay

مِّنۡ

min

from

حَمَإٖ

hama-in

black mud

مَّسۡنُونٖ

masnunin

altered

٢٨

15:29

فَإِذَا

fa-idha

So when

سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ

sawwaytuhu

I have fashioned him

وَنَفَخۡتُ

wanafakhtu

and [I] breathed

فِيهِ

fihi

into him

مِن

min

رُّوحِي

ruhi

My spirit

فَقَعُواْ

faqa'u

then fall down

لَهُۥ

lahu

to him

سَٰجِدِينَ

sajidina

prostrating

٢٩

15:30

فَسَجَدَ

fasajada

So prostrated

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ

al-malaikatu

the Angels

كُلُّهُمۡ

kulluhum

all of them

أَجۡمَعُونَ

ajma'una

together

٣٠

15:31

إِلَّآ

illa

Except

إِبۡلِيسَ

ib'lisa

Iblis

أَبَىٰٓ

aba

He refused

أَن

يَكُونَ

yakuna

مَعَ

ma'a

with

ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ

al-sajidina

those who prostrated

15:32

قَالَ

qala

He said

يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ

yaib'lisu

O Iblis

مَا

What

لَكَ

laka

(is) for you

أَلَّا

alla

that not

تَكُونَ

takuna

you are

مَعَ

ma'a

with

ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ

al-sajidina

those who prostrated

٣٢

15:33

قَالَ

qala

He said

لَمۡ

lam

I am not

أَكُن

akun

I am not

لِّأَسۡجُدَ

li-asjuda

(one) to prostrate

لِبَشَرٍ

libasharin

to a human

خَلَقۡتَهُۥ

khalaqtahu

whom You created

مِن

min

(out) of

صَلۡصَٰلٖ

salsalin

clay

مِّنۡ

min

from

حَمَإٖ

hama-in

black mud

مَّسۡنُونٖ

masnunin

altered

٣٣

15:34

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَٱخۡرُجۡ

fa-ukh'ruj

Then get out

مِنۡهَا

min'ha

of it

فَإِنَّكَ

fa-innaka

for indeed you

رَجِيمٞ

rajimun

(are) expelled

٣٤

15:35

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

عَلَيۡكَ

alayka

upon you

ٱللَّعۡنَةَ

al-la'nata

(will be) the curse

إِلَىٰ

ila

till

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

ٱلدِّينِ

al-dini

(of) [the] Judgment

٣٥

15:36

قَالَ

qala

He said

رَبِّ

rabbi

O my Lord

فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ

fa-anzir'ni

Then give me respite

إِلَىٰ

ila

till

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

(the) Day

يُبۡعَثُونَ

yub'athuna

they are raised

٣٦

15:37

قَالَ

qala

He said

فَإِنَّكَ

fa-innaka

Then indeed you

مِنَ

mina

(are) of

ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ

al-munzarina

the ones given respite

٣٧

15:38

إِلَىٰ

ila

Till

يَوۡمِ

yawmi

the Day

ٱلۡوَقۡتِ

al-waqti

(of) the time

ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ

al-ma'lumi

well-known

٣٨

15:39

قَالَ

qala

He said

رَبِّ

rabbi

My Lord

بِمَآ

bima

Because

أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي

aghwaytani

You misled me

لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ

la-uzayyinanna

surely I will make (evil) fair-seeming

لَهُمۡ

lahum

to them

فِي

ٱلۡأَرۡضِ

al-ardi

the earth

وَلَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ

wala-ugh'wiyannahum

and I will mislead them

أَجۡمَعِينَ

ajma'ina

all

٣٩

15:40

إِلَّا

illa

Except

عِبَادَكَ

ibadaka

Your slaves

مِنۡهُمُ

min'humu

among them

ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

al-mukh'lasina

the ones who are sincere

٤٠

15:41

قَالَ

qala

He said

هَٰذَا

hadha

This

صِرَٰطٌ

siratun

(is) the way

عَلَيَّ

alayya

to Me

مُسۡتَقِيمٌ

mus'taqimun

straight

٤١

15:42

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

عِبَادِي

ibadi

My slaves

لَيۡسَ

laysa

not

لَكَ

laka

you have

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

alayhim

over them

سُلۡطَٰنٌ

sul'tanun

any authority

إِلَّا

illa

except

مَنِ

mani

those who

ٱتَّبَعَكَ

ittaba'aka

follow you

مِنَ

mina

ٱلۡغَاوِينَ

al-ghawina

the ones who go astray

٤٢

15:43

وَإِنَّ

wa-inna

And indeed

جَهَنَّمَ

jahannama

Hell

لَمَوۡعِدُهُمۡ

lamaw'iduhum

(is) surely the promised place for them

أَجۡمَعِينَ

ajma'ina

all

٤٣

15:44

لَهَا

laha

For it

سَبۡعَةُ

sab'atu

(are) seven

أَبۡوَٰبٖ

abwabin

gates

لِّكُلِّ

likulli

for each

بَابٖ

babin

gate

مِّنۡهُمۡ

min'hum

among them

جُزۡءٞ

juz'on

(is) a portion

مَّقۡسُومٌ

maqsumun

assigned

٤٤

15:45

إِنَّ

inna

Indeed

ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

al-mutaqina

the righteous

فِي

(will be) in

جَنَّٰتٖ

jannatin

Gardens

وَعُيُونٍ

wa'uyunin

and water springs

٤٥

15:46

ٱدۡخُلُوهَا

ud'khuluha

Enter it

بِسَلَٰمٍ

bisalamin

in peace

ءَامِنِينَ

aminina

secure

٤٦

15:47

وَنَزَعۡنَا

wanaza'na

And We (will) remove

مَا

what

فِي

(is) in

صُدُورِهِم

sudurihim

their breasts

مِّنۡ

min

غِلٍّ

ghillin

rancor

إِخۡوَٰنًا

ikh'wanan

(they will be) brothers

عَلَىٰ

ala

سُرُرٖ

sururin

thrones

مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

mutaqabilina

facing each other

٤٧

15:48

لَا

Not

يَمَسُّهُمۡ

yamassuhum

will touch them

فِيهَا

fiha

therein

نَصَبٞ

nasabun

fatigue

وَمَا

wama

and not

هُم

hum

they

مِّنۡهَا

min'ha

from it

بِمُخۡرَجِينَ

bimukh'rajina

will be removed

٤٨
