surah015

15:1

الٓرۚ

ʹAlif-Laaam-Raa.

Alif Laam Ra

تِلۡكَ

Tilka

These

ءَايَٰتُ

ʹAayaatul

(are) the Verses

ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ

Kitaabi

(of) the Book

وَقُرۡءَانٖ

wa-Q̣urʹaanim

and Quran

مُّبِينٖ

Mubeen.

clear

15:2

رُّبَمَا

Rubamaa

Perhaps

يَوَدُّ

yawaddul

will wish

ٱلَّذِينَ

laẓeena

those who

كَفَرُواْ

kafaroo

disbelieved

لَوۡ

law

كَانُواْ

kaanoo

they had been

مُسۡلِمِينَ

Muslimeen.

Muslims

15:3

ذَرۡهُمۡ

Ẓarhum

Leave them

يَأۡكُلُواْ

yaʹkuloo

(to) eat

وَيَتَمَتَّعُواْ

wa-yatamattaʻoo

and enjoy

وَيُلۡهِهِمُ

wa-yulhihimul

and diverted them

ٱلۡأَمَلُۖ

ʹamalu

the hope

فَسَوۡفَ

fasawfa

then soon

يَعۡلَمُونَ

yaʻlamoon.

they will come to know

15:4

وَمَآ

Wa-maaa

And not

أَهۡلَكۡنَا

ʹahlaknaa

We destroyed

مِن

miñ

any

قَرۡيَةٍ

q̣aryatin

town

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

but

وَلَهَا

wa-lahaa

(there was) for it

كِتَابٞ

kitaabum

a decree

مَّعۡلُومٞ

maʻloom.

known

15:5

مَّا

Maa-

Not

تَسۡبِقُ

tasbiq̣u

(can) advance

مِنۡ

min

any

أُمَّةٍ

ʹummatin

nation

أَجَلَهَا

ʹAjalahaa

its term

وَمَا

wa-maa

and not

يَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ

yastaʹkhiroon.

(can) delay it

15:6

وَقَالُواْ

Wa-q̣aaloo

And they say

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا

yaaaʹayyuhal

O you

ٱلَّذِي

laẓee

(to) whom

نُزِّلَ

nuzzila

has been sent down

عَلَيۡهِ

ʻalayhiẓ

[on him]

ٱلذِّكۡرُ

Ẓikru

the Reminder

إِنَّكَ

ʹinnaka

indeed you

لَمَجۡنُونٞ

lamajnoon.

(are) surely mad

15:7

لَّوۡ

Law

Why

مَا

maa-

not

تَأۡتِينَا

taʹteenaa

you bring to us

بِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ

bil-malaaaʹikati

the Angels

إِن

ʹiñ

كُنتَ

kuñta

you are

مِنَ

minaṣ

ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ

Ṣaadiq̣een?

the truthful

15:8

مَا

Maa-

Not

نُنَزِّلُ

nunazzilul

We send down

ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ

malaaaʹikata

the Angels

إِلَّا

illaa

except

بِٱلۡحَقِّ

bil-Ḥaq̣q̣i

with the truth

وَمَا

wa-maa

and not

كَانُوٓاْ

kaanooo

they would be

إِذٗا

ʹiẓam

then

مُّنظَرِينَ

muñz̤̣areen!

given respite

15:9

إِنَّا

ʹInnaa

Indeed We

نَحۡنُ

Naḥnu

نَزَّلۡنَا

nazzalnaẓ

have sent down

ٱلذِّكۡرَ

Ẓikra

the Reminder

وَإِنَّا

wa-ʹinnaa

and indeed We

لَهُۥ

lahoo

of it

لَحَٰفِظُونَ

la-Ḥaafiz̤̣oon.

(are) surely Guardians

15:10

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And certainly

أَرۡسَلۡنَا

ʹarsalnaa

We (had) sent

مِن

miñ

before you

قَبۡلِكَ

q̣ablika

before you

فِي

fee

شِيَعِ

shiyaʻil

the sects

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

ʹawwaleen:

(of) the former (people)

15:11

وَمَا

Wa-maa

And not

يَأۡتِيهِم

yaʹteehim

came to them

مِّن

mir

any

رَّسُولٍ

rasoolin

Messenger

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

but

كَانُواْ

kaanoo

they did

بِهِۦ

bihee

at him

يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

yastahziʹoon.

15:12

كَذَٰلِكَ

Kaẓaalika

Thus

نَسۡلُكُهُۥ

naslukuhoo

We let it enter

فِي

fee

قُلُوبِ

q̣uloobil

(the) hearts

ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

mujrimeen―

(of) the criminals

15:13

لَا

Laa-

Not

يُؤۡمِنُونَ

yuʹminoona

they believe

بِهِۦ

bihee

in it

وَقَدۡ

wa-q̣ad

and verily

خَلَتۡ

khalat

have passed

سُنَّةُ

sunnatul

the way(s)

ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

ʹawwaleen.

(of) the former (people)

15:14

وَلَوۡ

Wa-law

And (even) if

فَتَحۡنَا

fataḥnaa

We opened

عَلَيۡهِم

ʻalayhim

to them

بَابٗا

baabam

a gate

مِّنَ

minas

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

samaaaʹi

the heaven

فَظَلُّواْ

faz̤̣alloo

and they were to continue

فِيهِ

feehi

therein

يَعۡرُجُونَ

yaʻrujoon.

(to) ascend

15:15

لَقَالُوٓاْ

Laq̣aalooo

They would surely say

إِنَّمَا

ʹinnamaa

Only

سُكِّرَتۡ

sukkirat

have been dazzled

أَبۡصَٰرُنَا

ʹabṣaarunaa

our eyes

بَلۡ

bal

Nay

نَحۡنُ

naḥnu

قَوۡمٞ

q̣awmum

(are) a people

مَّسۡحُورُونَ

masḥooroon.

bewitched

15:16

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And verily

جَعَلۡنَا

jaʻalnaa

We have placed

فِي

fis

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

samaaaʹi

the heavens

بُرُوجٗا

Buroojañw

constellations

وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا

Wazayyannaahaa

and We have beautified it

لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

linnaaz̤̣ireen;

for the observers

١٦

15:17

وَحَفِظۡنَٰهَا

Wa-hafiz̤̣naahaa

And We have protected it

مِن

miñ

from

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيۡطَٰنٖ

Shayṭaanir

devil

رَّجِيمٍ

rajeem:

accursed

١٧

15:18

إِلَّا

ʹIllaa

Except

مَنِ

manis

(one) who

ٱسۡتَرَقَ

taraq̣as

steals

ٱلسَّمۡعَ

samʻa

the hearing

فَأَتۡبَعَهُۥ

faʹatbaʻahoo

then follows him

شِهَابٞ

shihaabum

a burning flame

مُّبِينٞ

mubeen.

15:19

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ

Wal-ʹarḍa

And the earth

مَدَدۡنَٰهَا

madadnaahaa

We have spread it

وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا

wa-ʹalq̣aynaa

and [We] cast

فِيهَا

feehaa

therein

رَوَٰسِيَ

rawaasiya

firm mountains

وَأَنۢبَتۡنَا

wa-ʹambatnaa

and [We] caused to grow

فِيهَا

feehaa

therein

مِن

miñ

كُلِّ

kulli

every

شَيۡءٖ

shayʹim

thing

مَّوۡزُونٖ

mawzoon.

well-balanced

١٩

15:20

وَجَعَلۡنَا

Wa-jaʻalnaa

And We have made

لَكُمۡ

lakum

for you

فِيهَا

feehaa

therein

مَعَٰيِشَ

maʻaayisha

means of living

وَمَن

wa-mal

and whom

لَّسۡتُمۡ

lastum

you are not

لَهُۥ

lahoo

for him

بِرَٰزِقِينَ

biraaziq̣een.

providers

٢٠

15:21

وَإِن

Wa-ʹim

And not

مِّن

miñ

(is) any

شَيۡءٍ

shayʹin

thing

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

but

عِندَنَا

ʻiñdanaa

with Us

خَزَآئِنُهُۥ

khazaaaʹinuh;

(are) its treasures

وَمَا

wa-maa

and not

نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ

nunazziluhooo

We send it down

إِلَّا

ʹillaa

except

بِقَدَرٖ

biq̣adarim

in a measure

مَّعۡلُومٖ

maʻloom.

known

٢١

15:22

وَأَرۡسَلۡنَا

Wa-ʹarsalnar

And We have sent

ٱلرِّيَٰحَ

riyaaḥa

the winds

لَوَٰقِحَ

lawaaq̣iḥa

fertilizing

فَأَنزَلۡنَا

faʹañzalnaa

and We sent down

مِنَ

minas

from

ٱلسَّمَآءِ

samaaaʹi

the sky

مَآءٗ

maaaʹañ

water

فَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰكُمُوهُ

faʹasq̣aynaakumooh:

and We gave it to you to drink

وَمَآ

wa-maaa

And not

أَنتُمۡ

ʹañtum

you

لَهُۥ

lahoo

of it

بِخَٰزِنِينَ

bikhaazineen.

(are) retainers

٢٢

15:23

وَإِنَّا

Wa-ʹinnaa

And indeed We

لَنَحۡنُ

lanaḥnu

surely [We]

نُحۡيِۦ

nuḥyee

We give life

وَنُمِيتُ

wa-numeetu

and We cause death

وَنَحۡنُ

wa-naḥnul

and We

ٱلۡوَٰرِثُونَ

waaris̤oon.

(are) the Inheritors

٢٣

15:24

وَلَقَدۡ

Wa-laq̣ad

And verily

عَلِمۡنَا

ʻalimnal

We know

ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ

mustaq̣dimeena

the preceding ones

مِنكُمۡ

miñkum

among you

وَلَقَدۡ

wa-laq̣ad

and verily

عَلِمۡنَا

ʻalimnal

We know

ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ

mustaʹkhireen.

the later ones

٢٤

15:25

وَإِنَّ

Wa-ʹinna

And indeed

رَبَّكَ

Rabbaka

your Lord

هُوَ

Huwa

يَحۡشُرُهُمۡۚ

yaḥshuruhum:

will gather them

إِنَّهُۥ

ʹinnahoo

Indeed He

حَكِيمٌ

Ḥakeemun

(is) All-Wise

عَلِيمٞ

ʻAleem.

All-Knowing
