وَلَوۡ
Wa-law
And if
أَنَّا
ʹannaa
[that] We
كَتَبۡنَا
katabnaa
(had) decreed
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
أَنِ
ʹaniq̣
that
ٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ
tulooo
Kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
ʹanfusakum
yourselves
أَوِ
ʹawikh
or
ٱخۡرُجُواْ
rujoo
Go forth
مِن
miñ
from
دِيَٰرِكُم
diyarikum
your homes
مَّا
maa
not
فَعَلُوهُ
faʻaloohu
they would have done it
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
قَلِيلٞ
q̣aleelum
a few
مِّنۡهُمۡۖ
minhum:
of them
وَلَوۡ
wa-law
But if
أَنَّهُمۡ
ʹannahum
[that] they
فَعَلُواْ
faʻaloo
had done
مَا
maa-
what
يُوعَظُونَ
yooʻaz̤̣oona
they were advised
بِهِۦ
bihee
with [it]
لَكَانَ
lakaana
surely (it) would have been
خَيۡرٗا
khayral
better
لَّهُمۡ
lahum
for them
وَأَشَدَّ
wa-ʹashadda
and stronger
تَثۡبِيتٗا
tas̤beetaa;
strengthen(ing)
