ٱلرِّجَالُ
ʹArrijaalu
[The] men
قَوَّٰمُونَ
q̣awwaamoona
(are) protectors
عَلَى
ʻalan
of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ
Nisaaaʹi
the women
بِمَا
bimaa
because
فَضَّلَ
faḍ-ḍalal
(has) bestowed
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بَعۡضَهُمۡ
baʻḍahum
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
over
بَعۡضٖ
baʻḍiñw
others
وَبِمَآ
wabimaaa
and because
أَنفَقُواْ
ʹañfaq̣oo
they spend
مِنۡ
min
from
أَمۡوَٰلِهِمۡۚ
ʹamwaalihim,
their wealth
فَٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ
Faṣ-Ṣaaliḥaatu
So the righteous women
قَٰنِتَٰتٌ
q̣aanitaatun
(are) obedient
حَٰفِظَٰتٞ
ḥaafi-Z̤̣atul
guarding
لِّلۡغَيۡبِ
lil-g̣aybi
in the unseen
بِمَا
bimaa
that which
حَفِظَ
ḥafi-Z̤̣al
(orders) them to guard
ٱللَّهُۚ
laah.
(by) Allah
وَٱلَّٰتِي
Wallaatee
And those (from) whom
تَخَافُونَ
takhaafoona
you fear
نُشُوزَهُنَّ
nushoozahunna
their ill-conduct
فَعِظُوهُنَّ
faʻi-Z̤̣oohunna
then advise them
وَٱهۡجُرُوهُنَّ
wahjuroohunna
and forsake them
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡمَضَاجِعِ
maḍaajiʻi
the bed
وَٱضۡرِبُوهُنَّۖ
waḍriboohunn.
and [finally] strike them
فَإِنۡ
Faʹin
Then if
أَطَعۡنَكُمۡ
ʹaṭaʻnakum
they obey you
فَلَا
falaa
then (do) not
تَبۡغُواْ
tabg̣oo
seek
عَلَيۡهِنَّ
ʻalayhinna
against them
سَبِيلًاۗ
sabeelaa:
a way
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَلِيّٗا
ʻAliyyañ
Most High
كَبِيرٗا
Kabeeraa.
Most Great
٣٤
4:35
وَإِنۡ
Wa-ʹin
And if
خِفۡتُمۡ
khiftum
you fear
شِقَاقَ
shiq̣aaq̣a
a dissension
بَيۡنِهِمَا
baynihimaa
between (the) two of them
فَٱبۡعَثُواْ
fabʻas̤oo
then send
حَكَمٗا
ḥakamam
an arbitrator
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَهۡلِهِۦ
ʹahlihee
his family
وَحَكَمٗا
waḥakamam
and an arbitrator
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَهۡلِهَآ
ʹahlihaa.
her family
إِن
ʹIñy
If
يُرِيدَآ
yureedaaa
they both wish
إِصۡلَٰحٗا
ʹiṣlaaḥ
reconciliation
يُوَفِّقِ
añyyuwaffiq̣il
will cause reconciliation
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
بَيۡنَهُمَآۗ
baynahumaa:
between both of them
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
كَانَ
kaana
is
عَلِيمًا
ʻAleeman
All-Knower
خَبِيرٗا
Khabeeraa.
All-Aware
٣٥
4:36
۞وَٱعۡبُدُواْ
Waʻbudul
And worship
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (do) not
تُشۡرِكُواْ
tushrikoo
associate
بِهِۦ
bihee
with Him
شَيۡـٔٗاۖ
shayʹañw
anything
وَبِٱلۡوَٰلِدَيۡنِ
wabilwaalidayni
and to the parents
إِحۡسَٰنٗا
ʹiḥsaanañw
(do) good
وَبِذِي
Wabiẓil
and with
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
q̣urbaa
the relatives
وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ
wal-yataamaa
and the orphans
وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ
wal-masaakeeni
and the needy
وَٱلۡجَارِ
wal-jaari
and the neighbor
ذِي
ẓil
(who is)
ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ
q̣urbaa
near
وَٱلۡجَارِ
wal-jaaril
and the neighbor
ٱلۡجُنُبِ
junubi
(who is) farther away
وَٱلصَّاحِبِ
waṣ-ṣaaḥibi
and the companion
بِٱلۡجَنۢبِ
biljambi
by your side
وَٱبۡنِ
wabnis
and the
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
sabeeli
traveler
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
مَلَكَتۡ
malakat
possess[ed]
أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡۗ
ʹaymaanukum:
your right hands
إِنَّ
ʹinnal
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَا
laa-
(does) not
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbu
love
مَن
mañ
(the one) who
كَانَ
kaana
is
مُخۡتَالٗا
mukhtaalañ
[a] proud
فَخُورًا
fakhooraa;
(and) [a] boastful
٣٦
4:37
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
يَبۡخَلُونَ
yabkhaloona
are stingy
وَيَأۡمُرُونَ
wa-yaʹmuroonan
and order
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
بِٱلۡبُخۡلِ
bilbukhli
[of] stinginess
وَيَكۡتُمُونَ
wa-yaktumoona
and hide
مَآ
maaa
what
ءَاتَىٰهُمُ
ʹaataahumul
(has) given them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِن
miñ
of
فَضۡلِهِۦۗ
faḍlih;
His Bounty
وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا
wa-ʹaʻtadnaa
and We (have) prepared
لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
lilkaafireena
for the disbelievers
عَذَابٗا
ʻaẓaabam
a punishment
مُّهِينٗا
muheenaa;
humiliating
٣٧
