وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
نَجَّيۡنَٰكُم
najjaynakum
We saved you
مِّنۡ
min
from
ءَالِ
ali
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
يَسُومُونَكُمۡ
yasumunakum
(who were) afflicting you (with)
سُوٓءَ
sua
horrible
ٱلۡعَذَابِ
al-'adhabi
torment
يُذَبِّحُونَ
yudhabbihuna
slaughtering
أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ
abnaakum
your sons
وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ
wayastahyuna
and letting live
نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ
nisaakum
your women
وَفِي
wafi
And in
ذَٰلِكُم
dhalikum
that
بَلَآءٞ
balaon
(was) a trial
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكُمۡ
rabbikum
your Lord
عَظِيمٞ
azimun
great
٤٩
2:50
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
فَرَقۡنَا
faraqna
We parted
بِكُمُ
bikumu
for you
ٱلۡبَحۡرَ
al-bahra
the sea
فَأَنجَيۡنَٰكُمۡ
fa-anjaynakum
then We saved you
وَأَغۡرَقۡنَآ
wa-aghraqna
and We drowned
ءَالَ
ala
(the) people
فِرۡعَوۡنَ
fir'awna
(of) Firaun
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
while you
تَنظُرُونَ
tanzuruna
(were) looking
٥٠
2:51
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
وَٰعَدۡنَا
wa'adna
We appointed
مُوسَىٰٓ
musa
(for) Musa
أَرۡبَعِينَ
arba'ina
forty
لَيۡلَةٗ
laylatan
nights
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
ٱتَّخَذۡتُمُ
ittakhadhtumu
you took
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
al-'ij'la
the calf
مِنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِهِۦ
ba'dihi
after him
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
and you
ظَٰلِمُونَ
zalimuna
(were) wrongdoers
٥١
2:52
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
عَفَوۡنَا
afawna
We forgave
عَنكُم
ankum
you
مِّنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
ذَٰلِكَ
dhalika
that
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuruna
(be) grateful
٥٢
2:53
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
ءَاتَيۡنَا
atayna
We gave
مُوسَى
musa
Musa
ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ
al-kitaba
the Book
وَٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ
wal-fur'qana
and the Criterion
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
perhaps you
تَهۡتَدُونَ
tahtaduna
(would be) guided
٥٣
2:54
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
قَالَ
qala
said
مُوسَىٰ
musa
Musa
لِقَوۡمِهِۦ
liqawmihi
to his people
يَٰقَوۡمِ
yaqawmi
O my people
إِنَّكُمۡ
innakum
Indeed you
ظَلَمۡتُمۡ
zalamtum
[you] have wronged
أَنفُسَكُم
anfusakum
yourselves
بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ
bi-ittikhadhikumu
by your taking
ٱلۡعِجۡلَ
al-'ij'la
the calf
فَتُوبُوٓاْ
fatubu
So turn in repentance
إِلَىٰ
ila
to
بَارِئِكُمۡ
bari-ikum
your Creator
فَٱقۡتُلُوٓاْ
fa-uq'tulu
and kill
أَنفُسَكُمۡ
anfusakum
yourselves
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
dhalikum
That
خَيۡرٞ
khayrun
(is) better
لَّكُمۡ
lakum
for you
عِندَ
inda
with
بَارِئِكُمۡ
bari-ikum
your Creator
فَتَابَ
fataba
Then He turned
عَلَيۡكُمۡۚ
alaykum
towards you
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed He
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلتَّوَّابُ
al-tawabu
(is) the-returning
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
al-rahimu
the Most Merciful
٥٤
2:55
وَإِذۡ
wa-idh
And when
قُلۡتُمۡ
qul'tum
you said
يَٰمُوسَىٰ
yamusa
O Musa
لَن
lan
Never
نُّؤۡمِنَ
nu'mina
(will) we believe
لَكَ
laka
in you
حَتَّىٰ
hatta
until
نَرَى
nara
we see
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
جَهۡرَةٗ
jahratan
manifestly
فَأَخَذَتۡكُمُ
fa-akhadhatkumu
So seized you
ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
al-sa'iqatu
the thunderbolt
وَأَنتُمۡ
wa-antum
while you
تَنظُرُونَ
tanzuruna
(were) looking
٥٥
2:56
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
بَعَثۡنَٰكُم
ba'athnakum
We revived you
مِّنۢ
min
from
بَعۡدِ
ba'di
after
مَوۡتِكُمۡ
mawtikum
your death
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَشۡكُرُونَ
tashkuruna
(be) grateful
٥٦
2:57
وَظَلَّلۡنَا
wazallalna
And We shaded
عَلَيۡكُمُ
alaykumu
[over] you
ٱلۡغَمَامَ
al-ghamama
(with) [the] clouds
وَأَنزَلۡنَا
wa-anzalna
and We sent down
عَلَيۡكُمُ
alaykumu
to you
ٱلۡمَنَّ
al-mana
[the] manna
وَٱلسَّلۡوَىٰۖ
wal-salwa
and [the] quails
كُلُواْ
kulu
Eat
مِن
min
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
tayyibati
(the) good things
مَا
ma
that
رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡۚ
razaqnakum
We have provided you
وَمَا
wama
And not
ظَلَمُونَا
zalamuna
they wronged Us
وَلَٰكِن
walakin
but
كَانُوٓاْ
kanu
they were
أَنفُسَهُمۡ
anfusahum
(to) themselves
يَظۡلِمُونَ
yazlimuna
doing wrong
٥٧
