3:166
وَمَآ
Wa-maaa
And what
أَصَٰبَكُمۡ
ʹaṣaabakum
struck you
يَوۡمَ
yawmal
(on the) day
ٱلۡتَقَى
taq̣al
(when) met
ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ
jamʻaani
the two hosts
فَبِإِذۡنِ
fabiʹiẓnil
(was) by (the) permission
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
wa-liyaʻlamal
and that He (might) make evident
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen;
the believers
١٦٦
3:167
وَلِيَعۡلَمَ
Wa-liyaʻlamal
And that He (might) make evident
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
نَافَقُواْۚ
naafaq̣oo
(are) hypocrites
وَقِيلَ
wa-q̣eela
And it was said
لَهُمۡ
lahum
to them
تَعَالَوۡاْ
taʻaalaw
Come
قَٰتِلُواْ
q̣aatiloo
fight
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabeelil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
أَوِ
ʹawid
or
ٱدۡفَعُواْۖ
faʻoo.
defend
قَالُواْ
Q̣aaloo
They said
لَوۡ
law
If
نَعۡلَمُ
naʻlamu
we knew
قِتَالٗا
q̣itaalal-lat
fighting
لَّٱتَّبَعۡنَٰكُمۡۗ
tabaʻnaakum.
certainly we (would have) followed you
هُمۡ
Hum
They
لِلۡكُفۡرِ
lilkufri
to disbelief
يَوۡمَئِذٍ
yawmaʹiẓin
that day
أَقۡرَبُ
ʹaq̣rabu
(were) nearer
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
than [them]
لِلۡإِيمَٰنِۚ
lil-ʹeemaan,
to the faith
يَقُولُونَ
Yaq̣ooloona
saying
بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِم
biʹafwaahihim
with their mouths
مَّا
maa
what
لَيۡسَ
laysa
was not
فِي
fee
in
قُلُوبِهِمۡۚ
q̣uloobihim.
their hearts
وَٱللَّهُ
Wal-laahu
And Allah
أَعۡلَمُ
ʹAʻlamu
(is) Most Knowing
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
يَكۡتُمُونَ
yaktumoon.
they conceal
١٦٧
3:168
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
said
لِإِخۡوَٰنِهِمۡ
liʹikhwaanihim
about their brothers
وَقَعَدُواْ
wa-q̣aʻadoo
while they sat
لَوۡ
law
If
أَطَاعُونَا
ʹaṭaaʻoonaa
they (had) obeyed us
مَا
maa
not
قُتِلُواْۗ
q̣utiloo
they would have been killed
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
فَٱدۡرَءُواْ
fadraʹoo
Then avert
عَنۡ
ʻan
from
أَنفُسِكُمُ
ʹañfusikumul
yourselves
ٱلۡمَوۡتَ
mawta
[the] death
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
صَٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een.
truthful
١٦٨
3:169
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَحۡسَبَنَّ
taḥsabannal
think
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
قُتِلُواْ
q̣utiloo
are killed
فِي
fee
in
سَبِيلِ
Sabilil
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
أَمۡوَٰتَۢاۚ
ʹamwaataa.
(as) dead
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
أَحۡيَآءٌ
ʹaḥyaaaʹun
They are alive
عِندَ
ʻiñda
near
رَبِّهِمۡ
Rabbihim
their Lord
يُرۡزَقُونَ
yurzaq̣oon;
they are given provision
١٦٩
3:170
فَرِحِينَ
Fariḥeena
Rejoicing
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
ءَاتَىٰهُمُ
ʹaataahumul
bestowed them
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
مِن
miñ
of
فَضۡلِهِۦ
faḍlihee
His Bounty
وَيَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
wa-yas-tabshiroona
and they receive good tidings
بِٱلَّذِينَ
billaẓeena
about those who
لَمۡ
lam
(have) not
يَلۡحَقُواْ
yalḥaq̣oo
yet joined
بِهِم
bihim
[with] them
مِّنۡ
min
[from]
خَلۡفِهِمۡ
khalfihim
(but are) left behind
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
that (there will be) no
خَوۡفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
ʻalayhim
on them
وَلَا
wa-laa
and not
هُمۡ
hum
they
يَحۡزَنُونَ
yaḥzanoon.
will grieve
١٧٠
3:171
۞يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ
Yastabshiroona
They receive good tidings
بِنِعۡمَةٖ
biniʻmatim
of Favor
مِّنَ
minal
from
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
وَفَضۡلٖ
wa-faḍliñw
and Bounty
وَأَنَّ
wa-ʹannal
and that
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
لَا
laa
(does) not
يُضِيعُ
yuḍeeʻu
let go waste
أَجۡرَ
ʹajral
(the) reward
ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
Muʹmineen.
(of) the believers
١٧١
3:172
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAl-laẓeenas
Those who
ٱسۡتَجَابُواْ
tajaaboo
responded
لِلَّهِ
lil-laahi
to Allah
وَٱلرَّسُولِ
war-Rasooli
and the Messenger
مِنۢ
mim
from
بَعۡدِ
baʻdi
after
مَآ
maaa
what
أَصَابَهُمُ
ʹaṣaabahumul
befell them
ٱلۡقَرۡحُۚ
q̣arḥu
the injury
لِلَّذِينَ
lil-laẓeena
for those who
أَحۡسَنُواْ
ʹaḥsanoo
did good
مِنۡهُمۡ
minhum
among them
وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ
wattaq̣aw
and feared Allah
أَجۡرٌ
ʹajrun
(is) a reward
عَظِيمٌ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
great
١٧٢
3:173
ٱلَّذِينَ
ʹAllaẓeena
Those who
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
لَهُمُ
lahumun
to them
ٱلنَّاسُ
naasu
[the people]
إِنَّ
ʹinnan
Indeed
ٱلنَّاسَ
naasa
the people
قَدۡ
q̣ad
(have) certainly
جَمَعُواْ
jamaʻoo
gathered
لَكُمۡ
lakum
against you
فَٱخۡشَوۡهُمۡ
fakhshawhum
so fear them
فَزَادَهُمۡ
fazaadahum
But it increased them
إِيمَٰنٗا
ʹeemaana:
(in) faith
وَقَالُواْ
wa-q̣aaloo
and they said
حَسۡبُنَا
ḥasbunal
Sufficient for us
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
(is) Allah
وَنِعۡمَ
wa-Niʻmal
and (He is the) best
ٱلۡوَكِيلُ
Wakeel.
[the] Disposer of affairs
