97:1إِنَّآʹInnaaaIndeed Weأَنزَلۡنَٰهُʹañzalnaahurevealed itفِيfeeinلَيۡلَةِLaylatil(the) NightٱلۡقَدۡرِQ̣ADR:(of) Power١
97:2وَمَآWa-maaaAnd whatأَدۡرَىٰكَʹadraakacan make you knowمَاmaa-whatلَيۡلَةُLaylatul(the) NightٱلۡقَدۡرِQ̣adr?(of) Power (is)٢
97:3لَيۡلَةُLaylatul(The) NightٱلۡقَدۡرِQ̣adri(of) Powerخَيۡرٞkhayrum(is) betterمِّنۡminthanأَلۡفِʹalfia thousandشَهۡرٖShahr.month(s)٣
97:4تَنَزَّلُTanazzalulDescendٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُmalaaaʹikatuthe Angelsوَٱلرُّوحُwar-Rooḥuand the Spiritفِيهَاfeehaathereinبِإِذۡنِbiʹiẓniby (the) permissionرَبِّهِمRab-bihim(of) their Lordمِّنmiñforكُلِّkullieveryأَمۡرٖʹamr:affair٤
97:5سَلَٰمٌSalaamunPeaceهِيَHiyait (is)حَتَّىٰḥattaauntilمَطۡلَعِmaṭ-laʻil(the) emergenceٱلۡفَجۡرِFajr!(of) the dawn٥
98:1لَمۡLamNotيَكُنِyakunilwereٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelievedمِنۡminfromأَهۡلِʹAhlil(the) PeopleٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabiof the Bookوَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَwal-Mushrikeenaand the polytheistsمُنفَكِّينَmuñ-fakkeenato be abandonedحَتَّىٰḥattaauntilتَأۡتِيَهُمُtaʹtiyahumul(there) comes to themٱلۡبَيِّنَةُBayyinah,the clear evidence١
98:2رَسُولٞRasoolumA MessengerمِّنَminalfromٱللَّهِlaahiAllahيَتۡلُواْyatloorecitingصُحُفٗاṣuḥufampagesمُّطَهَّرَةٗmuṭahharah,purified٢
98:4وَمَاWa-maaAnd notتَفَرَّقَtafarraq̣albecame dividedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoأُوتُواْʹootulwere givenٱلۡكِتَٰبَKitaabathe Bookإِلَّاʹillaauntilمِنۢmimfromبَعۡدِbaʻdiafterمَاmaa-whatجَآءَتۡهُمُjaaa-ʹathumulcame (to) themٱلۡبَيِّنَةُBayyinah.(of) the clear evidence٤
98:5وَمَآWa-maaaAnd notأُمِرُوٓاْʹumirooothey were commandedإِلَّاʹillaaexceptلِيَعۡبُدُواْliyaʻbudulto worshipٱللَّهَlaahaAllahمُخۡلِصِينَmukhliṣeena(being) sincereلَهُlahudto HimٱلدِّينَDeen:(in) the religionحُنَفَآءَḥunafaaaʹauprightوَيُقِيمُواْwa-yuq̣eemuṣand to establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَṢalaatathe prayerوَيُؤۡتُواْwa-yuʹtuzand to giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَۚZakaatathe zakahوَذَٰلِكَwa-ẓaalikaAnd thatدِينُDeenul(is the) religionٱلۡقَيِّمَةِQ̣ayyimah.the correct٥
98:6إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveمِنۡminfromأَهۡلِʹAhlil(the) PeopleٱلۡكِتَٰبِKitaabi(of) the Bookوَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَwal-Mushrikeenaand the polytheistsفِيfee(will be) inنَارِnaari(the) FireجَهَنَّمَJahannama(of) Hellخَٰلِدِينَkhaalideenaabiding eternallyفِيهَآۚfeehaa.thereinأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹUlaaaʹikaThose هُمۡhumtheyشَرُّsharrul(are the) worstٱلۡبَرِيَّةِbariyyah.(of) the creatures٦
98:7إِنَّʹInnalIndeedٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoءَامَنُواْʹaamanoobelieveوَعَمِلُواْwa-ʻamiluṣand doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِṣaaliḥaatirighteous deedsأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹu-laaaʹikathose هُمۡhumtheyخَيۡرُkhayrul(are the) bestٱلۡبَرِيَّةِbariyyah.(of) the creatures٧
