أَسۡكِنُوهُنَّ
ʹAskinoohunna
Lodge them
مِنۡ
min
from
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
where
سَكَنتُم
sakañtum
you dwell
مِّن
miñw
(out) of
وُجۡدِكُمۡ
wujdikum
your means
وَلَا
wa-laa
and (do) not
تُضَآرُّوهُنَّ
tuḍaaarroohunna
harm them
لِتُضَيِّقُواْ
lituḍayyiq̣oo
to distress
عَلَيۡهِنَّۚ
ʻalayhinn.
[on] them
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
كُنَّ
kunna
they are
أُوْلَٰتِ
ʹulaati
those (who are)
حَمۡلٖ
ḥamliñ
pregnant
فَأَنفِقُواْ
faʹañfiq̣oo
then spend
عَلَيۡهِنَّ
ʻalayhinna
on them
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
until
يَضَعۡنَ
yaḍaʻna
they deliver
حَمۡلَهُنَّۚ
ḥamlahunn.
their burden
فَإِنۡ
Faʹin
Then if
أَرۡضَعۡنَ
ʹarḍaʻna
they suckle
لَكُمۡ
lakum
for you
فَـَٔاتُوهُنَّ
faʹaatoohunna
then give them
أُجُورَهُنَّ
ʹujoorahunn:
their payment
وَأۡتَمِرُواْ
waʹtamiroo
and consult
بَيۡنَكُم
baynakum̃
among yourselves
بِمَعۡرُوفٖۖ
bimaʻroof.
with kindness
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
but if
تَعَاسَرۡتُمۡ
taʻaasartum
you disagree
فَسَتُرۡضِعُ
fasaturḍiʻu
then may suckle
لَهُۥٓ
lahooo
for him
أُخۡرَىٰ
ʹukhraa.
another (women)
٦
