مِنۢ

before him
بَيۡنِ

خَلۡفِهِۦٓ

and after him
أَلَّا
alla
That not
تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ
ta'budu
you worship
إِلَّا
illa
except
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
إِنِّيٓ
inni
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
akhafu
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
alaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
adhaba
a punishment
يَوۡمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٖ
azimin
Great
٢١
46:22
قَالُوٓاْ
qalu
They said
أَجِئۡتَنَا
aji'tana
Have you come to us
لِتَأۡفِكَنَا
litafikana
to turn us away
عَنۡ
an
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
alihatina
our gods
فَأۡتِنَا
fatina
Then bring us
بِمَا
bima
what
تَعِدُنَآ
ta'iduna
you threaten us
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
al-sadiqina
the truthful
٢٢
46:23
قَالَ
qala
He said
إِنَّمَا
innama
Only
ٱلۡعِلۡمُ
al-'il'mu
the knowledge
عِندَ
inda
(is) with Allah
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(is) with Allah
وَأُبَلِّغُكُم
wa-uballighukum
and I convey to you
مَّآ
ma
what
أُرۡسِلۡتُ
ur'sil'tu
I am sent
بِهِۦ
bihi
with it
وَلَٰكِنِّيٓ
walakinni
but
أَرَىٰكُمۡ
arakum
I see you
قَوۡمٗا
qawman
a people
تَجۡهَلُونَ
tajhaluna
ignorant
٢٣
46:24
فَلَمَّا
falamma
Then when
رَأَوۡهُ
ra-awhu
they saw it
عَارِضٗا
aridan
(as) a cloud
مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ
mus'taqbila
approaching
أَوۡدِيَتِهِمۡ
awdiyatihim
their valleys
قَالُواْ
qalu
they said
هَٰذَا
hadha
This
عَارِضٞ
aridun
(is) a cloud
مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ
mum'tiruna
bringing us rain
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
هُوَ
huwa
it
مَا
ma
(is) what
ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم
is'ta'jaltum
you were asking it to be hastened
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
you were asking it to be hastened
رِيحٞ
rihun
a wind
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
عَذَابٌ
adhabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
alimun
painful
٢٤
46:25
تُدَمِّرُ
tudammiru
Destroying
كُلَّ
kulla
every
شَيۡءِۭ
shayin
thing
بِأَمۡرِ
bi-amri
by (the) command
رَبِّهَا
rabbiha
(of) its Lord
فَأَصۡبَحُواْ
fa-asbahu
Then they became (such)
لَا
la
not
يُرَىٰٓ
yura
is seen
إِلَّا
illa
except
مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡۚ
masakinuhum
their dwellings
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Thus
نَجۡزِي
najzi
We recompense
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
al-qawma
the people
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
al-muj'rimina
[the] criminals
٢٥
46:26
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
مَكَّنَّٰهُمۡ
makkannahum
We had established them
فِيمَآ
fima
in what
إِن
in
not
مَّكَّنَّٰكُمۡ
makkannakum
We have established you
فِيهِ
fihi
in it
وَجَعَلۡنَا
waja'alna
and We made
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
سَمۡعٗا
sam'an
hearing
وَأَبۡصَٰرٗا
wa-absaran
and vision
وَأَفۡـِٔدَةٗ
wa-afidatan
and hearts
فَمَآ
fama
But not
أَغۡنَىٰ
aghna
availed
عَنۡهُمۡ
anhum
them
سَمۡعُهُمۡ
sam'uhum
their hearing
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ
absaruhum
their vision
وَلَآ
wala
and not
أَفۡـِٔدَتُهُم
afidatuhum
their hearts
مِّن
min
any
شَيۡءٍ
shayin
thing
إِذۡ
idh
when
كَانُواْ
kanu
they were
يَجۡحَدُونَ
yajhaduna
rejecting
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biayati
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
وَحَاقَ
wahaqa
and enveloped
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
ma
what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihi
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yastahziuna
ridicule
٢٦
46:27
وَلَقَدۡ
walaqad
And certainly
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ahlakna
We destroyed
مَا
ma
what
حَوۡلَكُم
hawlakum
surrounds you
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
al-qura
the towns
وَصَرَّفۡنَا
wasarrafna
and We have diversified
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
al-ayati
the Signs
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
la'allahum
that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
yarji'una
return
٢٧
46:28
فَلَوۡلَا
falawla
Then why (did) not
نَصَرَهُمُ
nasarahumu
help them
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those whom
ٱتَّخَذُواْ
ittakhadhu
they had taken
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
duni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
Allah
قُرۡبَانًا
qur'banan
gods as a way of approach
ءَالِهَةَۢۖ
alihatan
gods as a way of approach
بَلۡ
bal
Nay
ضَلُّواْ
dallu
they were lost
عَنۡهُمۡۚ
anhum
from them
وَذَٰلِكَ
wadhalika
And that
إِفۡكُهُمۡ
if'kuhum
(was) their falsehood
وَمَا
wama
and what
كَانُواْ
kanu
they were
يَفۡتَرُونَ
yaftaruna
inventing
٢٨
