۞وَٱذۡكُرۡ
Waẓkur
And mention
أَخَا
ʹAkhaa
(the) brother
عَادٍ
ʻAad:
(of) Aad
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
when
أَنذَرَ
ʹañẓara
he warned
قَوۡمَهُۥ
q̣awmahoo
his people
بِٱلۡأَحۡقَافِ
bil-ʹAḤQ̣AAFI
in the Al-Ahqaf
وَقَدۡ
wa-q̣ad
and had already passed away
خَلَتِ
khalatin
and had already passed away
ٱلنُّذُرُ
nuẓuru
[the] warners
مِنۢ
mim
before him
بَيۡنِ
bayni
before him
يَدَيۡهِ
yadayhi
before him
وَمِنۡ
wa-min
and after him
خَلۡفِهِۦٓ
khalfiheee
and after him
أَلَّا
ʹallaa
That not
تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ
taʻbudooo
you worship
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهَ
laah:
Allah
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَخَافُ
ʹakhaafu
[I] fear
عَلَيۡكُمۡ
ʻalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʻaẓaaba
a punishment
يَوۡمٍ
Yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٖ
ʻaz̤̣eem.
Great
٢١
46:22
قَالُوٓاْ
Q̣aalooo
They said
أَجِئۡتَنَا
ʹajiʹtanaa
Have you come to us
لِتَأۡفِكَنَا
litaʹfikanaa
to turn us away
عَنۡ
ʻan
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
ʹaalihatinaa?
our gods
فَأۡتِنَا
Faʹtinaa
Then bring us
بِمَا
bimaa
what
تَعِدُنَآ
taʻidunaaa
you threaten us
إِن
ʹiñ
if
كُنتَ
kuñta
you are
مِنَ
minaṣ
of
ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
ṣaadiq̣een!
the truthful
٢٢
46:23
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
إِنَّمَا
ʹinnamal
Only
ٱلۡعِلۡمُ
ʻilmu
the knowledge
عِندَ
ʻiñdal
(is) with Allah
ٱللَّهِ
laah:
(is) with Allah
وَأُبَلِّغُكُم
wa-ʹuballig̣ukum
and I convey to you
مَّآ
maaa
what
أُرۡسِلۡتُ
ʹursiltu
I am sent
بِهِۦ
bihee
with it
وَلَٰكِنِّيٓ
wa-laakinneee
but
أَرَىٰكُمۡ
ʹaraakum
I see you
قَوۡمٗا
q̣awmañ
a people
تَجۡهَلُونَ
tajhaloon!
ignorant
٢٣
46:24
فَلَمَّا
falammaa
Then when
رَأَوۡهُ
raʹawhu
they saw it
عَارِضٗا
ʻaariḍam
(as) a cloud
مُّسۡتَقۡبِلَ
mustaq̣bila
approaching
أَوۡدِيَتِهِمۡ
ʹawdiyatihim
their valleys
قَالُواْ
q̣aaloo
they said
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This
عَارِضٞ
ʻaariḍum
(is) a cloud
مُّمۡطِرُنَاۚ
mumṭirunaa!
bringing us rain
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
هُوَ
huwa
it
مَا
mas
(is) what
ٱسۡتَعۡجَلۡتُم
taʻjaltum̃
you were asking it to be hastened
بِهِۦۖ
bih!
you were asking it to be hastened
رِيحٞ
reeḥuñ
a wind
فِيهَا
feehaa
in it
عَذَابٌ
ʻAẓaabun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٞ
ʹaleem!
painful
٢٤
46:25
تُدَمِّرُ
Tudammiru
Destroying
كُلَّ
kulla
every
شَيۡءِۭ
shayʹim
thing
بِأَمۡرِ
biʹamri
by (the) command
رَبِّهَا
Rabbihaa
(of) its Lord
فَأَصۡبَحُواْ
faʹaṣbaḥoo
Then they became (such)
لَا
laa-
not
يُرَىٰٓ
yuraaa
is seen
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
مَسَٰكِنُهُمۡۚ
masaakinuhum!
their dwellings
كَذَٰلِكَ
Kaẓaalika
Thus
نَجۡزِي
najzil
We recompense
ٱلۡقَوۡمَ
q̣awmal
the people
ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
mujrimeen!
[the] criminals
٢٥
46:26
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
مَكَّنَّٰهُمۡ
makkannaahum
We had established them
فِيمَآ
feemaaa
in what
إِن
ʹim
not
مَّكَّنَّٰكُمۡ
makkannaakum
We have established you
فِيهِ
feehi
in it
وَجَعَلۡنَا
wa-jaʻalnaa
and We made
لَهُمۡ
lahum
for them
سَمۡعٗا
samʻañw
hearing
وَأَبۡصَٰرٗا
waʹabṣaarañw
and vision
وَأَفۡـِٔدَةٗ
waʹafʹidah:
and hearts
فَمَآ
famaaa
But not
أَغۡنَىٰ
ʹag̣naa
availed
عَنۡهُمۡ
ʻanhum
them
سَمۡعُهُمۡ
samʻuhum
their hearing
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ
ʹabṣaaruhum
their vision
وَلَآ
wa-laaa
and not
أَفۡـِٔدَتُهُم
ʹafʹidatuhum
their hearts
مِّن
miñ
any
شَيۡءٍ
shayʹin
thing
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
يَجۡحَدُونَ
yajḥadoona
rejecting
بِـَٔايَٰتِ
biʹAayaatil
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
(of) Allah
وَحَاقَ
wa-ḥaaq̣a
and enveloped
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
maa
what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihee
[at it]
يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
yastahziʹoon!
ridicule
٢٦
46:27
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
أَهۡلَكۡنَا
ʹahlaknaa
We destroyed
مَا
maa-
what
حَوۡلَكُم
ḥawlakum
surrounds you
مِّنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡقُرَىٰ
q̣uraa
the towns
وَصَرَّفۡنَا
wa-ṣarrafnal
and We have diversified
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
ʹAayaati
the Signs
لَعَلَّهُمۡ
laʻallahum
that they may
يَرۡجِعُونَ
yarjiʻoon.
return
٢٧
46:28
فَلَوۡلَا
Falawlaa
Then why (did) not
نَصَرَهُمُ
naṣarahumul
help them
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeenat
those whom
ٱتَّخَذُواْ
takhaẓoo
they had taken
مِن
miñ
besides
دُونِ
doonil
besides
ٱللَّهِ
laahi
Allah
قُرۡبَانًا
q̣urbaanan
gods as a way of approach
ءَالِهَةَۢۖ
ʹaalihah?
gods as a way of approach
بَلۡ
Bal
Nay
ضَلُّواْ
ḍalloo
they were lost
عَنۡهُمۡۚ
ʻanhum:
from them
وَذَٰلِكَ
wa-ẓaalika
And that
إِفۡكُهُمۡ
ʹifkuhum
(was) their falsehood
وَمَا
wa-maa
and what
كَانُواْ
kaanoo
they were
يَفۡتَرُونَ
yaftaroon.
inventing
