2:283
۞وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
كُنتُمۡ
kuñtum
you are
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
سَفَرٖ
safariñw
a journey
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidoo
you find
كَاتِبٗا
katibañ
a scribe
فَرِهَٰنٞ
farihaanum
then pledge
مَّقۡبُوضَةٞۖ
maq̣booḍah.
in hand
فَإِنۡ
Faʹin
Then if
أَمِنَ
ʹamina
entrusts
بَعۡضُكُم
baʻḍukum
one of you
بَعۡضٗا
baʻḍañ
(to) another
فَلۡيُؤَدِّ
falyuʹaddil
then let discharge
ٱلَّذِي
laẓiʹ
the one who
ٱؤۡتُمِنَ
tumina
is entrusted
أَمَٰنَتَهُۥ
ʹamaanatahoo
his trust
وَلۡيَتَّقِ
wal-yattaq̣il
And let him fear
ٱللَّهَ
laaha
Allah
رَبَّهُۥۗ
Rabbah.
his Lord
وَلَا
Wa-laa
And (do) not
تَكۡتُمُواْ
taktumush
conceal
ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَۚ
shahaadah:
the evidence
وَمَن
wa-mañy
And whoever
يَكۡتُمۡهَا
yaktumhaa
conceals it
فَإِنَّهُۥٓ
faʹinnahooo
then indeed he
ءَاثِمٞ
ʹaas̤imuñ
(is) sinful
قَلۡبُهُۥۗ
q̣albuh.
his heart
وَٱللَّهُ
Wallaahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bimaa
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
taʻmaloona
you do
عَلِيمٞ
ʻAleem.
(is) All-Knower
٢٨٣
2:284
لِّلَّهِ
Lillaahi
To Allah (belongs)
مَا
maa-
whatever
فِي
fis
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
the heavens
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
فِي
fil
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
ʹarḍ.
the earth
وَإِن
Wa-ʹiñ
And if
تُبۡدُواْ
tubdoo
you disclose
مَا
ma
what
فِيٓ
feee
(is) in
أَنفُسِكُمۡ
ʹañfusikum
yourselves
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
تُخۡفُوهُ
tukhfoohu
you conceal it
يُحَاسِبۡكُم
yuḥaasibkum̃
will call you to account
بِهِ
bihil
for it
ٱللَّهُۖ
laah.
Allah
فَيَغۡفِرُ
Fayag̣firu
Then He will forgive
لِمَن
limañy
[to] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wa-yuʻazzibu
and He will punish
مَن
mañy
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashaaaʹ:
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wallaahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayʹiñ
thing
قَدِيرٌ
Q̣adeer.
(is) All-Powerful
٢٨٤
2:285
ءَامَنَ
ʹAamanar
Believed
ٱلرَّسُولُ
Rasoolu
the Messenger
بِمَآ
bimaaa
in what
أُنزِلَ
ʹuñzila
was revealed
إِلَيۡهِ
ʹilayhi
to him
مِن
mir
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
Rabbihee
his Lord
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ
wal-Muʹminoon.
and the believers
كُلٌّ
Kullun
All
ءَامَنَ
ʹaamana
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
billaahi
in Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
wa-malaaaʹikatihee
and His Angels
وَكُتُبِهِۦ
wa-kutubihee
and His Books
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
warusulih.
and His Messengers
لَا
Laa-
Not
نُفَرِّقُ
nufarriq̣u
we make distinction
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
أَحَدٖ
ʹaḥadim
any
مِّن
mir
of
رُّسُلِهِۦۚ
rusulih.
His messengers
وَقَالُواْ
Wa-q̣aaloo
And they said
سَمِعۡنَا
samiʻnaa
We heard
وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ
wa-ʹaṭaʻnaa:
and we obeyed
غُفۡرَانَكَ
G̣ufraanaka
(Grant) us Your forgiveness
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
our Lord
وَإِلَيۡكَ
wa-ʹilaykal
and to You
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
maṣeer.
(is) the return
٢٨٥
2:286
لَا
Laa-
(Does) not
يُكَلِّفُ
yukalliful
burden
ٱللَّهُ
laahu
Allah
نَفۡسًا
nafsan
any soul
إِلَّا
ʹillaa
except
وُسۡعَهَاۚ
wusʻahaa.
its capacity
لَهَا
Lahaa
for it
مَا
maa-
what
كَسَبَتۡ
kasabat
it earned
وَعَلَيۡهَا
wa-ʻalayhaa
and against it
مَا
mak
what
ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ
tasabat.
it earned
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
لَا
laa-
(Do) not
تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ
tuʹaakhiẓnaaa
take us to task
إِن
ʹin
if
نَّسِينَآ
naseenaaa
we forget
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ
ʹakhṭaʹnaa.
we err
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
وَلَا
wa-laa
And (do) not
تَحۡمِلۡ
taḥmil
lay
عَلَيۡنَآ
ʻalaynaaa
upon us
إِصۡرٗا
ʹiṣrañ
a burden
كَمَا
kamaaa
like that
حَمَلۡتَهُۥ
ḥamaltahoo
(which) You laid [it]
عَلَى
ʻalal
on
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
مِن
miñ
(were) from
قَبۡلِنَاۚ
q̣ablinaa.
before us
رَبَّنَا
Rabbanaa
Our Lord
وَلَا
wa-laa
[And] (do) not
تُحَمِّلۡنَا
tuḥammilnaa
lay on us
مَا
maa
what
لَا
laa-
not
طَاقَةَ
ṭaaq̣ata
(the) strength
لَنَا
lanaa
we have
بِهِۦۖ
bih.
[of it] (to bear)
وَٱعۡفُ
Waʻfu
And pardon
عَنَّا
ʻannaa,
[from] us
وَٱغۡفِرۡ
wag̣hfir
and forgive
لَنَا
lanaa,
[for] us
وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ
warḥamnaa.
and have mercy on us
أَنتَ
ʹAñta
You (are)
مَوۡلَىٰنَا
Mawlaanaa
our Protector
فَٱنصُرۡنَا
fañṣurnaa
so help us
عَلَى
ʻalal
against
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
q̣awmil
the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
Kaafireen.
[the] disbelievers
٢٨٦
