۞وَإِن
wa-in
And if
كُنتُمۡ
kuntum
you are
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
سَفَرٖ
safarin
a journey
وَلَمۡ
walam
and not
تَجِدُواْ
tajidu
you find
كَاتِبٗا
katiban
a scribe
فَرِهَٰنٞ
farihanun
then pledge
مَّقۡبُوضَةٞۖ
maqbudatun
in hand
فَإِنۡ
fa-in
Then if
أَمِنَ
amina
entrusts
بَعۡضُكُم
ba'dukum
one of you
بَعۡضٗا
ba'dan
(to) another
فَلۡيُؤَدِّ
falyu-addi
then let discharge
ٱلَّذِي
alladhi
the one who
ٱؤۡتُمِنَ
u'tumina
is entrusted
أَمَٰنَتَهُۥ
amanatahu
his trust
وَلۡيَتَّقِ
walyattaqi
And let him fear
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
رَبَّهُۥۗ
rabbahu
his Lord
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَكۡتُمُواْ
taktumu
conceal
ٱلشَّهَٰدَةَۚ
al-shahadata
the evidence
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
يَكۡتُمۡهَا
yaktum'ha
conceals it
فَإِنَّهُۥٓ
fa-innahu
then indeed he
ءَاثِمٞ
athimun
(is) sinful
قَلۡبُهُۥۗ
qalbuhu
his heart
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bima
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
you do
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
(is) All-Knower
٢٨٣
2:284
لِّلَّهِ
lillahi
To Allah (belongs)
مَا
ma
whatever
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
al-samawati
the heavens
وَمَا
wama
and whatever
فِي
fi
(is) in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ
al-ardi
the earth
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُبۡدُواْ
tub'du
you disclose
مَا
ma
what
فِيٓ
fi
(is) in
أَنفُسِكُمۡ
anfusikum
yourselves
أَوۡ
aw
or
تُخۡفُوهُ
tukh'fuhu
you conceal it
يُحَاسِبۡكُم
yuhasib'kum
will call you to account
بِهِ
bihi
for it
ٱللَّهُۖ
al-lahu
Allah
فَيَغۡفِرُ
fayaghfiru
Then He will forgive
لِمَن
liman
[to] whom
يَشَآءُ
yashau
He wills
وَيُعَذِّبُ
wayu'adhibu
and He will punish
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُۗ
yashau
He wills
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ala
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَيۡءٖ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadirun
(is) All-Powerful
٢٨٤
2:285
ءَامَنَ
amana
Believed
ٱلرَّسُولُ
al-rasulu
the Messenger
بِمَآ
bima
in what
أُنزِلَ
unzila
was revealed
إِلَيۡهِ
ilayhi
to him
مِن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَۚ
wal-mu'minuna
and the believers
كُلٌّ
kullun
All
ءَامَنَ
amana
believed
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ
wamalaikatihi
and His Angels
وَكُتُبِهِۦ
wakutubihi
and His Books
وَرُسُلِهِۦ
warusulihi
and His Messengers
لَا
la
Not
نُفَرِّقُ
nufarriqu
we make distinction
بَيۡنَ
bayna
between
أَحَدٖ
ahadin
any
مِّن
min
of
رُّسُلِهِۦۚ
rusulihi
His messengers
وَقَالُواْ
waqalu
And they said
سَمِعۡنَا
sami'na
We heard
وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ
wa-ata'na
and we obeyed
غُفۡرَانَكَ
ghuf'ranaka
(Grant) us Your forgiveness
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
our Lord
وَإِلَيۡكَ
wa-ilayka
and to You
ٱلۡمَصِيرُ
al-masiru
(is) the return
٢٨٥
2:286
لَا
la
(Does) not
يُكَلِّفُ
yukallifu
burden
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
نَفۡسًا
nafsan
any soul
إِلَّا
illa
except
وُسۡعَهَاۚ
wus'aha
its capacity
لَهَا
laha
for it
مَا
ma
what
كَسَبَتۡ
kasabat
it earned
وَعَلَيۡهَا
wa'alayha
and against it
مَا
ma
what
ٱكۡتَسَبَتۡۗ
ik'tasabat
it earned
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
لَا
la
(Do) not
تُؤَاخِذۡنَآ
tuakhidh'na
take us to task
إِن
in
if
نَّسِينَآ
nasina
we forget
أَوۡ
aw
or
أَخۡطَأۡنَاۚ
akhtana
we err
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَحۡمِلۡ
tahmil
lay
عَلَيۡنَآ
alayna
upon us
إِصۡرٗا
is'ran
a burden
كَمَا
kama
like that
حَمَلۡتَهُۥ
hamaltahu
(which) You laid [it]
عَلَى
ala
on
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
those who
مِن
min
(were) from
قَبۡلِنَاۚ
qablina
before us
رَبَّنَا
rabbana
Our Lord
وَلَا
wala
[And] (do) not
تُحَمِّلۡنَا
tuhammil'na
lay on us
مَا
ma
what
لَا
la
not
طَاقَةَ
taqata
(the) strength
لَنَا
lana
we have
بِهِۦۖ
bihi
[of it] (to bear)
وَٱعۡفُ
wa-u'fu
And pardon
عَنَّا
anna
[from] us
وَٱغۡفِرۡ
wa-igh'fir
and forgive
لَنَا
lana
[for] us
وَٱرۡحَمۡنَآۚ
wa-ir'hamna
and have mercy on us
أَنتَ
anta
You (are)
مَوۡلَىٰنَا
mawlana
our Protector
فَٱنصُرۡنَا
fa-unsur'na
so help us
عَلَى
ala
against
ٱلۡقَوۡمِ
al-qawmi
the people
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
al-kafirina
[the] disbelievers
٢٨٦
