وَقَالُواْ
Waq̣aaloo
And they (will) say
مَا

What (is)
لَنَا

for us
لَا

نَرَىٰ
naraa
we see
رِجَالٗا
rijaalañ
men
كُنَّا
kunnaa
we used to
نَعُدُّهُم
naʻudduhum
count them
مِّنَ
minal
among
ٱلۡأَشۡرَارِ
ʹashraar?
the bad ones
٦٢
38:63
أَتَّخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ
ʹAttakhaẓnaahum
Did we take them
سِخۡرِيًّا
sikhriyyan
(in) ridicule
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
زَاغَتۡ
zaag̣at
has turned away
عَنۡهُمُ
ʻanhumul
from them
ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
ʹabṣaar?
the vision
٦٣
38:64
إِنَّ
ʹInna
Indeed
ذَٰلِكَ
ẓaalika
that
لَحَقّٞ
laḥaq̣q̣uñ
(is) surely (the) truth
تَخَاصُمُ
takhaaṣumu
(the) quarreling
أَهۡلِ
ʹAhlin
(of the) people
ٱلنَّارِ
Naar!
(of) the Fire
٦٤
38:65
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
إِنَّمَآ
ʹInnamaaa
Only
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
مُنذِرٞۖ
Muñẓir:
a warner
وَمَا
wa-maa
and not
مِنۡ
min
(is there) any
إِلَٰهٍ
ʹilaahin
god
إِلَّا
ʹillal
except
ٱللَّهُ
laahul
Allah
ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ
Waaḥidul
the One
ٱلۡقَهَّارُ
Q̣ahhaar,―
the Irresistible
٦٥
38:66
رَبُّ
Rabbus
Lord
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ
samaawaati
(of) the heavens
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ
wal-ʹarḍi
and the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumal
(is) between them
ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
ʻAzeezul
the All-Mighty
ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ
G̣affaar.
the Oft-Forgiving
٦٦
38:67
قُلۡ
Q̣ul
Say
هُوَ
huwa
It (is)
نَبَؤٌاْ
Nabaʹun
a news
عَظِيمٌ
ʻAz̤̣eem,
great
٦٧
38:68
أَنتُمۡ
ʹAñtum
You
عَنۡهُ
ʻanhu
from it
مُعۡرِضُونَ
muʻriḍoon!
turn away
٦٨
38:69
مَا
Maa-
Not
كَانَ
kaana
is
لِيَ
liya
for me
مِنۡ
min
any
عِلۡمِۭ
ʻilmim
knowledge
بِٱلۡمَلَإِ
bil-malaʹil
(of) the chiefs
ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰٓ
ʹaʻlaaa
the exalted
إِذۡ
ʹiẓ
when
يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
yakhtaṣimoon.
they were disputing
٦٩
38:70
إِن
ʹIñy
Not
يُوحَىٰٓ
yooḥaaa
has been revealed
إِلَيَّ
ʹilayya
to me
إِلَّآ
ʹillaaa
except
أَنَّمَآ
ʹannamaaa
that only
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
نَذِيرٞ
Naẓeerum
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
mubeen.

38:71
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
قَالَ
q̣aala
said
رَبُّكَ
Rabbuka
your Lord
لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ
lilmalaaaʹikati
to the Angels
إِنِّي
ʹinnee
Indeed I Am
خَٰلِقُۢ
khaaliq̣um
going to create
بَشَرٗا
basharam
a human being
مِّن
miñ
from
طِينٖ
ṭeen.

38:72
فَإِذَا
Faʹiẓaa
So when
سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ
sawwaytuhoo
I have proportioned him
وَنَفَخۡتُ
wa-nafakhtu
and breathed
فِيهِ
feehi
into him
مِن
mir
of
رُّوحِي
Rooḥee
My spirit
فَقَعُواْ
faq̣aʻoo
then fall down
لَهُۥ
lahoo
to him
سَٰجِدِينَ
saajideen.
prostrating
٧٢
38:73
فَسَجَدَ
Fasajadal
So prostrated
ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ
malaaaʹikatu
the Angels
كُلُّهُمۡ
kulluhum
all of them
أَجۡمَعُونَ
ʹajmaʻoon:
together
٧٣
38:74
إِلَّآ
ʹIllaaa
Except
إِبۡلِيسَ
ʹIblees;
Iblis
ٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ
ʹistakbara
he was arrogant
وَكَانَ
wa-kaana
and became
مِنَ
minal
of
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
kaafireen.
the disbelievers
٧٤
38:75
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
يَٰٓإِبۡلِيسُ
YaaaʹIbleesu
O Iblis
مَا
maa-
What
مَنَعَكَ
manaʻaka
prevented you
أَن
ʹañ
that
تَسۡجُدَ
tasjuda
you (should) prostrate
لِمَا
limaa
to (one) whom
خَلَقۡتُ
khalaq̣tu
I created
بِيَدَيَّۖ
biyadayy?
with My Hands
أَسۡتَكۡبَرۡتَ
ʹAs-takbarta
Are you arrogant
أَمۡ
ʹam
or
كُنتَ
kuñta
are you
مِنَ
min
of
ٱلۡعَالِينَ
alʻaaleen?
the exalted ones
٧٥
38:76
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
أَنَا۠
ʹana
I am
خَيۡرٞ
khayrum
better
مِّنۡهُ
minh:
than him
خَلَقۡتَنِي
khalaq̣tanee
You created me
مِن
min
from
نَّارٖ
naariñw
fire
وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ
wakhalaq̣tahoo
and You created him
مِن
miñ
from
طِينٖ
ṭeen.

٧٦
38:77
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
فَٱخۡرُجۡ
fakhruj
Then get out
مِنۡهَا
minha
of it
فَإِنَّكَ
faʹinnaka
for indeed you
رَجِيمٞ
rajeem.
(are) accursed
٧٧
38:78
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
عَلَيۡكَ
ʻalayka
upon you
لَعۡنَتِيٓ
laʻnateee
(is) My curse
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
until
يَوۡمِ
Yawmid
(the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
Deen.
(of) Judgment
٧٨
38:79
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbi
My Lord
فَأَنظِرۡنِيٓ
faʹañz̤̣irneee
Then give me respite
إِلَىٰ
ʹilaa
until
يَوۡمِ
Yawmi
(the) Day
يُبۡعَثُونَ
yubʻas̤oon.
they are resurrected
٧٩
38:80
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
فَإِنَّكَ
faʹinnaka
Then indeed you
مِنَ
minal
(are) of
ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ
muñz̤̣areen―
those given respite
٨٠
38:81
إِلَىٰ
ʹIlaa
Until
يَوۡمِ
Yawmil
(the) Day
ٱلۡوَقۡتِ
Waq̣til
(of) the time
ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ
Maʻloom.
well-known
٨١
38:82
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
فَبِعِزَّتِكَ
fabiʻIzzatika
Then by Your might
لَأُغۡوِيَنَّهُمۡ
laʹug̣wiyannahum
I will surely mislead them
أَجۡمَعِينَ
ʹajmaʻeen.―
all
٨٢
38:83
إِلَّا
ʹIlaa
Except
عِبَادَكَ
ʻIbaadaka
Your slaves
مِنۡهُمُ
minhumul
among them
ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ
mukhlaṣeen.
the chosen ones
٨٣
