38:27
وَمَا
Wa-maa
And not
خَلَقۡنَا
khalaq̣nas
We created
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
samaaaʹa
the heaven
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ
wal-ʹarḍa
and the earth
وَمَا
wa-maa
and whatever
بَيۡنَهُمَا
baynahumaa
(is) between them
بَٰطِلٗاۚ
baaṭilaa!
without purpose
ذَٰلِكَ
Ẓaalika
That
ظَنُّ
z̤̣annul
(is the) assumption
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
(of) those who
كَفَرُواْۚ
kafaroo!
disbelieve
فَوَيۡلٞ
Fawaylul
So woe
لِّلَّذِينَ
lil-laẓeena
to those
كَفَرُواْ
kafaroo
who disbelieve
مِنَ
minan
from
ٱلنَّارِ
Naar!
the Fire
٢٧
38:28
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
نَجۡعَلُ
najʻalul
should We treat
ٱلَّذِينَ
laẓeena
those who
ءَامَنُواْ
ʹaamanoo
believe
وَعَمِلُواْ
wa-ʻamiluṣ
and do
ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ
ṣaaliḥaati
righteous deeds
كَٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ
kalmufsideena
like those who spread corruption
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
ʹarḍ?
the earth
أَمۡ
ʹAm
Or
نَجۡعَلُ
najʻalul
should We treat
ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ
muttaq̣eena
the pious
كَٱلۡفُجَّارِ
kalfujjaar?
like the wicked
٢٨
38:29
كِتَٰبٌ
Kitaabun
(This is) a Book
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ
ʹañzalnaahu
We have revealed it
إِلَيۡكَ
ʹilayka
to you
مُبَٰرَكٞ
mubaarakul
blessed
لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓاْ
liyaddabbarooo
that they may ponder
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ
ʹAayaatihee
(over) its Verses
وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ
wa-liyataẓakkara
and may be reminded
أُوْلُواْ
ʹulul
those of understanding
ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
ʹalbaab.
those of understanding
٢٩
38:30
وَوَهَبۡنَا
Wa-wahabnaa
And We gave
لِدَاوُۥدَ
li-Daawooda
to Dawood
سُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ
Sulaymaan:
Sulaiman
نِعۡمَ
niʻmal
an excellent
ٱلۡعَبۡدُ
ʻAbd!
slave
إِنَّهُۥٓ
ʹInnahooo
Indeed he
أَوَّابٌ
ʹawwaab!
(was) one who repeatedly turned
٣٠
38:31
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
When
عُرِضَ
ʻuriḍa
were displayed
عَلَيۡهِ
ʻalayhi
to him
بِٱلۡعَشِيِّ
bilʻashiyyiṣ
in the afternoon
ٱلصَّٰفِنَٰتُ
ṣaafinaatul
excellent bred steeds
ٱلۡجِيَادُ
jiyaad;
excellent bred steeds
٣١
38:32
فَقَالَ
Faq̣aala
And he said
إِنِّيٓ
ʹinneee
Indeed I
أَحۡبَبۡتُ
ʹaḥbabtu
[I] preferred
حُبَّ
ḥubbal
(the) love
ٱلۡخَيۡرِ
khayri
(of) the good
عَن
ʻañ
over
ذِكۡرِ
ẓikri
(the) remembrance
رَبِّي
Rabbee,―
(of) my Lord
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattaa
Until
تَوَارَتۡ
tawaarat
they were hidden
بِٱلۡحِجَابِ
bilḥijaab:
in the veil
٣٢
38:33
رُدُّوهَا
Ruddoohaa
Return them
عَلَيَّۖ
ʻalayy.
to me
فَطَفِقَ
faṭafiq̣a
Then he began
مَسۡحَۢا
mas-ḥam
(to) pass (his hand)
بِٱلسُّوقِ
bissooq̣i
over the legs
وَٱلۡأَعۡنَاقِ
wal-ʹaʻnaaq̣.
and the necks
٣٣
38:34
وَلَقَدۡ
Wa-laq̣ad
And certainly
فَتَنَّا
fatannaa
We tried
سُلَيۡمَٰنَ
Sulaymaana
Sulaiman
وَأَلۡقَيۡنَا
wa-ʹalq̣aynaa
and We placed
عَلَىٰ
ʻalaa
on
كُرۡسِيِّهِۦ
kursiyyihee
his throne
جَسَدٗا
jasadañ
a body
ثُمَّ
s̤umma
then
أَنَابَ
ʹanaab:
he turned
٣٤
38:35
قَالَ
Q̣aala
He said
رَبِّ
Rabbig̣
O my Lord
ٱغۡفِرۡ
fir
Forgive
لِي
lee
me
وَهَبۡ
wa-hab
and grant
لِي
lee
me
مُلۡكٗا
Mulkal
a kingdom
لَّا
laa
not
يَنۢبَغِي
yambag̣ee
(will) belong
لِأَحَدٖ
liʹaḥadim
to anyone
مِّنۢ
mim
after me
بَعۡدِيٓۖ
baʻdee:
after me
إِنَّكَ
ʹinnaka
Indeed You
أَنتَ
ʹAñtal
[You]
ٱلۡوَهَّابُ
Wahhaab.
(are) the Bestower
٣٥
38:36
فَسَخَّرۡنَا
Fasakhkharnaa
Then We subjected
لَهُ
lahur
to him
ٱلرِّيحَ
Reeḥa
the wind
تَجۡرِي
tajree
to flow
بِأَمۡرِهِۦ
biʹamrihee
by his command
رُخَآءً
rukhaaaʹan
gently
حَيۡثُ
ḥays̤u
wherever
أَصَابَ
ʹaṣaab,―
he directed
٣٦
38:37
وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ
Washshayaaṭeena
And the devils
كُلَّ
kulla
every
بَنَّآءٖ
bannaaaʹiñw
builder
وَغَوَّاصٖ
wag̣awwaaṣ,―
and diver
٣٧
38:38
وَءَاخَرِينَ
Wa-ʹaakhareena
And others
مُقَرَّنِينَ
muq̣arraneena
bound
فِي
fil
in
ٱلۡأَصۡفَادِ
ʹaṣfaad.
chains
٣٨
38:39
هَٰذَا
Haaẓaa
This
عَطَآؤُنَا
ʻAṭaaaʹunaa
(is) Our gift
فَٱمۡنُنۡ
famnun
so grant
أَوۡ
ʹaw
or
أَمۡسِكۡ
ʹamsik
withhold
بِغَيۡرِ
big̣ayri
without
حِسَابٖ
ḥisaab.
account
٣٩
38:40
وَإِنَّ
Wa-ʹinna
And indeed
لَهُۥ
lahoo
for him
عِندَنَا
ʻiñdanaa
with Us
لَزُلۡفَىٰ
lazulfaa
surely is a near access
وَحُسۡنَ
waḥusna
and a good
مَـَٔابٖ
maʹaab.
place of return
٤٠
38:41
وَٱذۡكُرۡ
Waẓkur
And remember
عَبۡدَنَآ
ʻAbdanaaa
Our slave
أَيُّوبَ
ʹAyyoob.
Ayyub
إِذۡ
ʹIẓ
when
نَادَىٰ
naadaa
he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
Rabbahooo
his Lord
أَنِّي
ʹannee
That [I]
مَسَّنِيَ
massaniyash
(has) touched me
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
shayṭaanu
Shaitaan
بِنُصۡبٖ
binuṣbiñw
with distress
وَعَذَابٍ
waʻaẓaab!
and suffering
٤١
38:42
ٱرۡكُضۡ
ʹUrkuḍ
Strike
بِرِجۡلِكَۖ
birijlik:
with your foot
هَٰذَا
haaẓaa
This
مُغۡتَسَلُۢ
mug̣tasalum
(is a spring of) water to bathe
بَارِدٞ
baariduñw
cool
وَشَرَابٞ
washaraab.
and a drink
