38:1صٓۚsadSaadوَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِwal-qur'aniBy the Quranذِيdhifull (of) reminderٱلذِّكۡرِal-dhik'rifull (of) reminder١
38:2بَلِbaliNayٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelieveفِيfi(are) inعِزَّةٖizzatinself-gloryوَشِقَاقٖwashiqaqinand opposition٢
38:3كَمۡkamHow manyأَهۡلَكۡنَاahlaknaWe destroyedمِنminbefore themقَبۡلِهِمqablihimbefore themمِّنminofقَرۡنٖqarnina generationفَنَادَواْfanadawthen they called outوَّلَاتَwalatawhen there (was) no longerحِينَhinatimeمَنَاصٖmanasin(for) escape٣
38:4وَعَجِبُوٓاْwa'ajibuAnd they wonderأَنanthatجَآءَهُمjaahumhas come to themمُّنذِرٞmundhiruna warnerمِّنۡهُمۡۖmin'humfrom themselvesوَقَالَwaqalaAnd saidٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَal-kafirunathe disbelieversهَٰذَاhadhaThisسَٰحِرٞsahirun(is) a magicianكَذَّابٌkadhabuna liar٤
38:5أَجَعَلَaja'alaHas he madeٱلۡأٓلِهَةَal-alihatathe godsإِلَٰهٗاilahan(into) one godوَٰحِدًاۖwahidan(into) one godإِنَّinnaIndeedهَٰذَاhadhathisلَشَيۡءٌlashayon(is) certainly a thingعُجَابٞujabuncurious٥
38:6وَٱنطَلَقَwa-intalaqaAnd went forthٱلۡمَلَأُal-mala-uthe chiefsمِنۡهُمۡmin'humamong themأَنِanithatٱمۡشُواْim'shuContinueوَٱصۡبِرُواْwa-is'biruand be patientعَلَىٰٓalaoverءَالِهَتِكُمۡۖalihatikumyour godsإِنَّinnaIndeedهَٰذَاhadhathisلَشَيۡءٞlashayon(is) certainly a thingيُرَادُyuraduintended٦
38:7مَاmaNotسَمِعۡنَاsami'nawe heardبِهَٰذَاbihadhaof thisفِيfiinٱلۡمِلَّةِal-milatithe religionٱلۡأٓخِرَةِal-akhiratithe lastإِنۡinNotهَٰذَآhadha(is) thisإِلَّاillabutٱخۡتِلَٰقٌikh'tilaquna fabrication٧
38:8أَءُنزِلَa-unzilaHas been revealedعَلَيۡهِalayhito himٱلذِّكۡرُal-dhik'ruthe Messageمِنۢminfromبَيۡنِنَاۚbayninaamong usبَلۡbalNayهُمۡhumTheyفِيfi(are) inشَكّٖshakkindoubtمِّنminaboutذِكۡرِيۚdhik'riMy MessageبَلbalNayلَّمَّاlammanot yetيَذُوقُواْyadhuquthey have tastedعَذَابِadhabiMy punishment٨
38:9أَمۡamOrعِندَهُمۡindahumhave theyخَزَآئِنُkhazainu(the) treasuresرَحۡمَةِrahmati(of the) Mercyرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordٱلۡعَزِيزِal-'azizithe All-Mightyٱلۡوَهَّابِal-wahabithe Bestower٩
38:10أَمۡamOrلَهُمlahumfor themمُّلۡكُmul'ku(is the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِwal-ardiand the earthوَمَاwamaand whateverبَيۡنَهُمَاۖbaynahuma(is) between themفَلۡيَرۡتَقُواْfalyartaquThen let them ascendفِيfibyٱلۡأَسۡبَٰبِal-asbabithe means١٠
38:11جُندٞjundunSoldiers مَّاmathereهُنَالِكَhunalikathereمَهۡزُومٞmahzumun(they will be) defeatedمِّنَminaamongٱلۡأَحۡزَابِal-ahzabithe companies١١
38:12كَذَّبَتۡkadhabatDeniedقَبۡلَهُمۡqablahumbefore themقَوۡمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٖnuhin(of) Nuhوَعَادٞwa'adunand Aadوَفِرۡعَوۡنُwafir'awnuand Firaunذُوdhu(the) ownerٱلۡأَوۡتَادِal-awtadi(of) the stakes١٢
38:13وَثَمُودُwathamuduAnd Thamudوَقَوۡمُwaqawmuand (the) peopleلُوطٖlutin(of) Lutوَأَصۡحَٰبُwa-ashabuand (the) companionsلۡـَٔيۡكَةِۚal'aykati(of) the woodأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikaThoseٱلۡأَحۡزَابُal-ahzabu(were) the companies١٣
38:14إِنinNotكُلٌّkullunall (of them)إِلَّاillabutكَذَّبَkadhabadeniedٱلرُّسُلَal-rusulathe Messengersفَحَقَّfahaqqaso (was) justعِقَابِiqabiMy penalty١٤
38:15وَمَاwamaAnd notيَنظُرُyanzuruawaitهَٰٓؤُلَآءِhaulaitheseإِلَّاillabutصَيۡحَةٗsayhatana shoutوَٰحِدَةٗwahidatanoneمَّاmanotلَهَاlahafor itمِنminanyفَوَاقٖfawaqindelay١٥
38:16وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they sayرَبَّنَاrabbanaOur LordعَجِّلajjilHastenلَّنَاlanafor usقِطَّنَاqittanaour shareقَبۡلَqablabeforeيَوۡمِyawmi(the) Dayٱلۡحِسَابِal-hisabi(of) the Account١٦
