38:1صٓۚṢAAADSaadوَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِWal-Q̣urʹaaniBy the QuranذِيẒiẓfull (of) reminderٱلذِّكۡرِẒikr.full (of) reminder١
38:2بَلِBalilNayٱلَّذِينَlaẓeenathose whoكَفَرُواْkafaroodisbelieveفِيfee(are) inعِزَّةٖʻizzatiñwself-gloryوَشِقَاقٖWashiq̣aaq̣.and opposition٢
38:3كَمۡKamHow manyأَهۡلَكۡنَاʹahlaknaaWe destroyedمِنmiñbefore themقَبۡلِهِمq̣ablihimbefore themمِّنmiñofقَرۡنٖq̣arniña generationفَنَادَواْfanaadawthen they called outوَّلَاتَwalaatawhen there (was) no longerحِينَḥeenatimeمَنَاصٖmanaaṣ!(for) escape٣
38:4وَعَجِبُوٓاْWa-ʻajiboooAnd they wonderأَنʹañthatجَآءَهُمjaaaʹahumhas come to themمُّنذِرٞMuñẓiruna warnerمِّنۡهُمۡۖminhum!from themselvesوَقَالَWa-q̣aalalAnd saidٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَKaafiroonnathe disbelieversهَٰذَاhaaẓaaThisسَٰحِرٞsaaḥiruñ(is) a magicianكَذَّابٌkaẓẓaab!a liar٤
38:5أَجَعَلَʹAjaʻalalHas he madeٱلۡأٓلِهَةَʹaalihatathe godsإِلَٰهٗاʹIlaahañw(into) one godوَٰحِدًاۖWaaḥidaa?(into) one godإِنَّʹInnaIndeedهَٰذَاhaaẓaathisلَشَيۡءٌlashayʹun(is) certainly a thingعُجَابٞʻujaab!curious٥
38:6وَٱنطَلَقَWañṭalaq̣alAnd went forthٱلۡمَلَأُmalaʹuthe chiefsمِنۡهُمۡminhumamong themأَنِʻanimthatٱمۡشُواْshooContinueوَٱصۡبِرُواْwaṣbirooand be patientعَلَىٰٓʻalaaaoverءَالِهَتِكُمۡۖʹaalihatikum!your godsإِنَّʹInnaIndeedهَٰذَاhaaẓaathisلَشَيۡءٞlashayʹuñy(is) certainly a thingيُرَادُyuraad!intended٦
38:7مَاMaa-Notسَمِعۡنَاsamiʻnaawe heardبِهَٰذَاbihaaẓaaof thisفِيfilinٱلۡمِلَّةِmillatilthe religionٱلۡأٓخِرَةِʹaakhirah:the lastإِنۡʹinNotهَٰذَآhaaẓaaa(is) thisإِلَّاʹillakhbutٱخۡتِلَٰقٌtilaaq̣!a fabrication٧
38:8أَءُنزِلَʹA-ʹuñzilaHas been revealedعَلَيۡهِʻalayhiẓto himٱلذِّكۡرُẒikruthe Messageمِنۢmimfromبَيۡنِنَاۚbayninaa?among usبَلۡBalNayهُمۡhumTheyفِيfee(are) inشَكّٖshakkimdoubtمِّنmiñaboutذِكۡرِيۚẒikree!My MessageبَلBalNayلَّمَّاlammaanot yetيَذُوقُواْyaẓooq̣oothey have tastedعَذَابِʻAẓaab!My punishment٨
38:9أَمۡʹAmOrعِندَهُمۡʻiñdahumhave theyخَزَآئِنُkhazaaaʹinu(the) treasuresرَحۡمَةِRaḥmati(of the) MercyرَبِّكَRabbikal(of) your LordٱلۡعَزِيزِʻAzeezilthe All-MightyٱلۡوَهَّابِWahhaab?the Bestower٩
38:10أَمۡʹAmOrلَهُمlahumfor themمُّلۡكُmulkus(is the) dominionٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِsamaawaati(of) the heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضِwal-ʹarḍiand the earthوَمَاwa-maaand whateverبَيۡنَهُمَاۖbaynahumaa?(is) between themفَلۡيَرۡتَقُواْFalyartaq̣ooThen let them ascendفِيfilbyٱلۡأَسۡبَٰبِʹasbaab!the means١٠
38:11جُندٞJuñdumSoldiers مَّاmaathereهُنَالِكَhunaalikathereمَهۡزُومٞmahzoomum(they will be) defeatedمِّنَminalamongٱلۡأَحۡزَابِʹaḥzaab.the companies١١
38:12كَذَّبَتۡKaẓẓabatDeniedقَبۡلَهُمۡq̣ablahumbefore themقَوۡمُQ̣awmu(the) peopleنُوحٖNooḥiñw(of) NuhوَعَادٞWaʻAaduñwand AadوَفِرۡعَوۡنُWa-Firʻawnuand FiraunذُوẒul(the) ownerٱلۡأَوۡتَادِʹawtaad,(of) the stakes١٢
38:13وَثَمُودُWa-S̤amooduAnd Thamudوَقَوۡمُwa-Q̣awmuand (the) peopleلُوطٖLooṭiñw(of) LutوَأَصۡحَٰبُwaʹAṣḥaabuland (the) companionsلۡـَٔيۡكَةِۚʹAykah;―(of) the woodأُوْلَٰٓئِكَʹulaaaʹikalThoseٱلۡأَحۡزَابُʹAḥzaab.(were) the companies١٣
38:14إِنʹIñNotكُلٌّkullunall (of them)إِلَّاʹillaabutكَذَّبَkaẓẓabardeniedٱلرُّسُلَrusulathe Messengersفَحَقَّfaḥaq̣q̣aso (was) justعِقَابِʻIq̣aab.My penalty١٤
38:15وَمَاWa-maaAnd notيَنظُرُyañz̤̣uruawaitهَٰٓؤُلَآءِhaaaʹulaaaʹitheseإِلَّاʹillaabutصَيۡحَةٗṢayḥatañwa shoutوَٰحِدَةٗwaaḥidatamoneمَّاmaanotلَهَاlahaafor itمِنmiñanyفَوَاقٖfawaaq̣.delay١٥
38:16وَقَالُواْWa-q̣aalooAnd they sayرَبَّنَاRabbanaaOur LordعَجِّلʻajjilHastenلَّنَاlanaafor usقِطَّنَاq̣iṭṭanaaour shareقَبۡلَq̣ablabeforeيَوۡمِYawmil(the) DayٱلۡحِسَابِḤisaab!(of) the Account١٦
