وَمَثَلُ

And (the) example
ٱلَّذِينَ

(of) those who
يُنفِقُونَ

spend
أَمۡوَٰلَهُمُ
amwalahumu
their wealth
ٱبۡتِغَآءَ
ib'tighaa
seeking
مَرۡضَاتِ
mardati
(the) pleasure
ٱللَّهِ
al-lahi
(of) Allah
وَتَثۡبِيتٗا
watathbitan
and certainty
مِّنۡ
min
from
أَنفُسِهِمۡ
anfusihim
their (inner) souls
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
جَنَّةِۭ
jannatin
a garden
بِرَبۡوَةٍ
birabwatin
on a height
أَصَابَهَا
asabaha
fell on it
وَابِلٞ
wabilun
heavy rain
فَـَٔاتَتۡ
faatat
so it yielded
أُكُلَهَا
ukulaha
its harvest
ضِعۡفَيۡنِ
di'fayni
double
فَإِن
fa-in
Then if
لَّمۡ
lam
(does) not
يُصِبۡهَا
yusib'ha
fall (on) it
وَابِلٞ
wabilun
heavy rain
فَطَلّٞۗ
fatallun
then a drizzle
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
بِمَا
bima
of what
تَعۡمَلُونَ
ta'maluna
you do
بَصِيرٌ
basirun
(is) All-Seer
٢٦٥
2:266
أَيَوَدُّ
ayawaddu
Would like
أَحَدُكُمۡ
ahadukum
any of you
أَن
an
that
تَكُونَ
takuna
it be
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
جَنَّةٞ
jannatun
a garden
مِّن
min
of
نَّخِيلٖ
nakhilin
date-palms
وَأَعۡنَابٖ
wa-a'nabin
and grapevines
تَجۡرِي
tajri
flowing
مِن
min
[from]
تَحۡتِهَا
tahtiha
underneath it
ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ
al-anharu
the rivers
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
فِيهَا
fiha
in it
مِن
min
of
كُلِّ
kulli
all (kinds)
ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ
al-thamarati
(of) [the] fruits
وَأَصَابَهُ
wa-asabahu
and strikes him
ٱلۡكِبَرُ
al-kibaru
[the] old age
وَلَهُۥ
walahu
and [for] his
ذُرِّيَّةٞ
dhurriyyatun
children
ضُعَفَآءُ
du'afau
(are) weak
فَأَصَابَهَآ
fa-asabaha
then falls on it
إِعۡصَارٞ
i'sarun
whirlwind
فِيهِ
fihi
in it
نَارٞ
narun
(is) fire
فَٱحۡتَرَقَتۡۗ
fa-ih'taraqat
then it is burnt
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhalika
Thus
يُبَيِّنُ
yubayyinu
makes clear
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَكُمُ
lakumu
for you
ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ
al-ayati
(His) Signs
لَعَلَّكُمۡ
la'allakum
so that you may
تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
tatafakkaruna
ponder
٢٦٦
2:267
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا
yaayyuha
O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhina
who
ءَامَنُوٓاْ
amanu
believe[d]
أَنفِقُواْ
anfiqu
Spend
مِن
min
from
طَيِّبَٰتِ
tayyibati
(the) good things
مَا
ma
that
كَسَبۡتُمۡ
kasabtum
you have earned
وَمِمَّآ
wamimma
and whatever
أَخۡرَجۡنَا
akhrajna
We brought forth
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ
al-ardi
the earth
وَلَا
wala
And (do) not
تَيَمَّمُواْ
tayammamu
aim (at)
ٱلۡخَبِيثَ
al-khabitha
the bad
مِنۡهُ
min'hu
of it
تُنفِقُونَ
tunfiquna
you spend
وَلَسۡتُم
walastum
while you (would) not
بِـَٔاخِذِيهِ
biakhidhihi
take it
إِلَّآ
illa
except
أَن
an
[that]
تُغۡمِضُواْ
tugh'midu
(with) close(d) eyes
فِيهِۚ
fihi
[in it]
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ
wa-i'lamu
and know
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
al-laha
Allah
غَنِيٌّ
ghaniyyun
(is) Self-Sufficient
حَمِيدٌ
hamidun
Praiseworthy
٢٦٧
2:268
ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
al-shaytanu
The Shaitaan
يَعِدُكُمُ
ya'idukumu
promises you
ٱلۡفَقۡرَ
al-faqra
[the] poverty
وَيَأۡمُرُكُم
wayamurukum
and orders you
بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِۖ
bil-fahshai
to immorality
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
while Allah
يَعِدُكُم
ya'idukum
promises you
مَّغۡفِرَةٗ
maghfiratan
forgiveness
مِّنۡهُ
min'hu
from Him
وَفَضۡلٗاۗ
wafadlan
and bounty
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
وَٰسِعٌ
wasi'un
(is) All-Encompassing
عَلِيمٞ
alimun
All-Knowing
٢٦٨
2:269
يُؤۡتِي
yu'ti
He grants
ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
al-hik'mata
[the] wisdom
مَن
man
(to) whom
يَشَآءُۚ
yashau
He wills
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
يُؤۡتَ
yu'ta
is granted
ٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ
al-hik'mata
[the] wisdom
فَقَدۡ
faqad
then certainly
أُوتِيَ
utiya
he is granted
خَيۡرٗا
khayran
good
كَثِيرٗاۗ
kathiran
abundant
وَمَا
wama
And none
يَذَّكَّرُ
yadhakkaru
remembers
إِلَّآ
illa
except
أُوْلُواْ
ulu
those
ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ
al-albabi
(of) understanding
٢٦٩
